I started this journey because I am a family man who wanted to preserve the precious memories we were making as a family. I'm also a bit of a tech-nerd! I enjoy building computers, taking things apart, and generally learning about how things work. Photography brings these passions and interests together for me and also allows me to express a bit of the creative drive that fuels my desire to learn and make! For me, photography started as a hobby, but soon grew to be something that would prove useful to others. I started by photographing musical theater performances for a local children's theater group. Then an uncle on my wife's side asked me to photograph his daughter's wedding. I was hooked! For some, taking a beloved hobby and using it to make money ruins the love for the hobby. Not for me! Photography is still something I enjoy doing for myself as well as for others. 2022 was an interesting year for me because I was given the chance to photograph two weddings professionally. Both couples were deeply pleased with the results and there was a sense of profound satisfaction for me. I decided that I would pursue this further in 2023 and Figley Photography was conceived! It is my goal to provide my couples with the highest level of service and to capture your wedding with the utmost care in a way that is minimally intrusive.
