We had the most incredible experience with the 1968 taxi and the most exceptional Peter as our driver. It was unbelievable experience! The vintage taxi added such a unique and special touch to our wedding day, and Peter's service was outstanding. The charm and character of the car, coupled with Peter's professionalism and warm and kind nature, truly made our day unforgettable. We highly recommend this combination for anyone looking to add a touch of nostalgia and class to their special occasion. A week on and we still cannot stop thinking about what a truly remarkable human being Peter is. It almost brings tears to my eyes at the thought of not being able to have the opportunity to see him again.

Peter and his team at FilmCars were an absolute pleasure to work with, and did a fantastic job at our wedding in May 2024. From the onset, we were super comfortable working with Peter, who was so communicative and thoughtful that we ended up with a truly incredible wedding day and set of epic photos to remember it all! On the day of the wedding, we never even had to think about the schedule, as the driver was prompt and careful, allowing us to get as many photos and vidoes as we our hearts desired! We were the talk of Downtown Brooklyn, as dozens of onlookers watched in awe and took photos and videos of their own! We felt like celebrities!

I wish I had the option to give 100 stars! Peter was absolutely amazing and probably the kindest human I have ever met. He went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best day! We had some obstacles along the way (outside of his control) and he helped us overcome them! We even forgot our vow books in his car trunk and he met us on a different day to make sure we got them back! Highly recommend to anyone considering!

Peter and his amazing car really made our wedding just so very special. I am so glad that we reached out to him, I don't even know where to begin. Peter was incredibly responsive and so thoughtful in his suggestions for our day. He picked us up (and was early) from our first look location downtown - and the second we saw the car we were even more excited about the day, which we didn't think was possible! We told him a few spots we were thinking of in Brooklyn but really put everything in his hands, which worked out beautifully - he drove us over the Brooklyn Bridge and found the perfect spot that wasn't crowded and had absolutely gorgeous views. And then when our photographer wanted to go back to another mural we passed, Peter didn't blink and knew exactly how to get there. I know he's been doing this a long time, but he seemed just as excited about the adventure as we were which made everything just so fun. The car was, of course, AMAZING - which we could tell by the photos and information he sent us initially - but what we didn't know was how wonderful Peter himself would be. We are seriously considering booking him again for our one year anniversary - Peter, please keep September 3rd free :-) Peter and FilmCars was a very magical part of a very magical day, and we are so thankful we found him! If you're considering it too, go for it, you will not regret it!!

Using Film Cars for our wedding transportation was the best idea! The taxi was beautiful and extremely spacious so I was able to fit in it nicely with my wedding dress. Having the beautiful taxi in our wedding photos was also a great choice. they are some of my favorite photos. Also communicating with Peter was amazing. He is such a nice guy. He had a family emergency and couldn't make it for our event so he had Gil come in his place. He was on time and so kind and patient through everything.

I booked the 1968 Checker Cab with FilmCars for my wedding day. Peter is the sweetest human being, he is so kind and enthusiastic and really made us feel so special on our big day. My favorite vendor of our entire wedding by far! I got married in Central Park in March 2023 and we booked a vintage cab with Peter from the Film Cars team to take us from the ceremony to the reception on the upper west side. Peter was our driver and we couldn't have enjoyed our experience working with him more. He was early to pick us up, met us at the exact location we discussed (which can be a challenge in Manhattan!) and was so positive and energetic. The car was absolutely beautiful and not only were our guests excited by it, but every stranger on the street had to stop and take a photo (which we thought was fun and added to the excitement of the day)! The car is engineered to be the perfect photo op spot – Peter brings lighting specifically for the car, can write a phrase on the back window in beautiful hand writing, and worked with our photographers seamlessly to get the best shots. The actual drive was also a wonderful moment during the day – It was a chance for my new husband and I to relax in the moment in between the emotions of the ceremony and the excitement of the reception. It was a total dream and I felt like I was in a movie. Cannot recommend Film Cars enough!

We booked film cars for our save the date photoshoot and couldn’t be happier. The entire experience was seamless from beginning to end. Customer service was very helpful and responsive. My wife and I booked Peter and “Big Yellow,” a 1957 Checkered Cab, for our wedding day on New Year’s Eve and we are so glad we did. His warmth, kindness, support and professionalism was clear from our very first communication to our very last. On the day of, Peter arrived early at our hotel and was on standby. He did everything he could to make the day special—from spontaneously driving us up to Tavern on the Green for photos to bringing additional lighting for inside the cab to having “just married” signs ready on-hand to bringing an Italian flag (we’re Italian) so we could hold it up in some shots to wiping down the car so we wouldn’t get wet to helping our photographer stage photos, Peter went above and beyond to make our day so seamless and so special. It’s clear Peter loves his job (and his customers) and we’ll be forever grateful for his kindness and preparedness, which really helped provide a unique and characteristically New York vibe to our wedding. We would 100% recommend Film Cars to anyone interested!

Peter Yannello at FilmCars is one of the most professional, thoughtful, and genuinely nice people you will never meet. My wife and I are big vintage buffs and arranged to make a grand entrance at our wedding via checker cab. After another party claiming to rent them turned out to be the hack themselves — they took our deposit and ghosted — we frantically called the number on FilmCars' website and Peter picked up right away, in the middle of another wedding, in the middle of a long weekend. By that night, he followed up to confirm our date, and was communicative at every step of the process, greatly putting our minds at ease. On our big day, Peter personally drove us, arrived significantly early to ensure our schedule was kept, and was fully prepared; the cab was immaculate, with an empty trunk for our props, sun shades to help our photographer, and the quintessential "just married!" in beautifully written script soap-markered onto the rear window, which in our despair we didn't even ask for. But the real bonus, upon seeing our guests' starry-eyed reaction to the cab, was that Peter stuck around with the cab a little longer to create the unplanned hit photo op of our cocktail hour (a genius content marketing move), delighting guests with stories of every film production "Big Yellow" had ever starred in. He even changed the window writing midway, too, to mix things up. Truly, FilmCars saved the day. I can not say enough great things about the cab or Peter. Peter worked with us when the other cars were booked, and offered his personal vintage cab and himself as driver. Peter was a pro at navigating the city and even worked with our photographer to make sure we got the perfect shots- one being the cab, us, and the entire Empire State Building. It looks like it’s out of a magazine, and something that would not have happened without his suggestion. He was one of the easiest vendors we worked with for the wedding. Incredibly responsive and personable. He made sure we got where we needed to on time and never felt rushed. It was so nice to have a calming presence on the way to the ceremony. If you are on the fence about hiring FilmCars, do it. Peter helped to set the tone for the whole day. He helped to make our big day run so smoothly. We would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Words can not express how special Peter, and his FILMCARS team, made us feel on our wedding day! We wanted a classic taxi cab for our NYC wedding, and the cab itself was beautiful. We hired Peter and Filmcars last year for our civil ceremony when we had to postpone our wedding, and it was one of the best decisions! Choosing a classic vintage checker cab was one of the best choices we made for our NYC wedding. It added character and style and it looks incredible in the photos. The back seat area is so spacious it could easily accommodate my very full wedding dress! Peter was very easy to deal with and operates with integrity.

I called Peter on a whim a few days before our wedding and could not be happier with the decision to hire his classic cab home. Choosing to work with Peter and having his old-fashioned, authentic taxi show up to our wedding was one of the best decisions we made for our special day. We arranged for Peter to show up about an hour prior to the wedding concluding, and to take us home. The car was beyond authentic, no pictures can do it justice. Peter is a top notch professional! Not only is he incredibly reliable, timely, and professional, but he’s also an exceedingly pleasant and kind individual - exactly the type of person you want on your wedding A Team. It’s no wonder he’s made it this far in the film-car biz! Absolute pleasure planning, riding, and setting up photos with Peter and his sweet vintage checked cab. Short anecdote that really speaks to Peter’s reliability — Peter showed up with a cab with even MORE legroom than we remembered. After our wedding, Peter explained that because of some mechanical issues with the original checkered cab we scoped out (it happens), he swapped it out with a really similar sister car (with the extra legroom, and a sweet rug inside). Not to mention that Peter arrived much earlier than our agreed-upon time. Overall, the experience was flawless. It was also super thoughtful to take out the headrest from the front passenger seat, because he knows our photographer’s preference to shoot without it. Little things like that- attention to detail- make the difference between a good and a great experience. We can’t say enough great things about Peter and his company. Our families loved you! Can’t think of a better teammate!

Perfection! Working with Film Cars today was amazing! Kind and gentle and just incredibly patient. They waited while I was able to take my pictures and I didn’t feel rushed. Also, as my couple and I were headed into Central Park I was explained exactly where they were going to be parked so we knew where they going to be parked when my couple and got out of the park. I hired this company to have a Checker Cab for my wedding and don't have one single regret. Peter was so professional before, during and after the wedding. The taxi cab was just as pictured, and we got lots of great pictures that I will treasure from our wedding day. The price was fair and within reason given other transportation quotes we got for regular cars. The driver was super nice and flexible to the schedule and photographer. They even offered to write something on the window if we wanted in chalk marker. It was extra special to have a few minutes of privacy during the ride in this taxi to our wedding venue with my groom. Would highly recommend to any bride who wants a little something special and classic NYC!

I never write reviews, but after working with Peter at FILMCARS, I had write one! One of my duties as best men for my best friend's wedding was to find a car service that could transport the bride and groom from the wedding venue to their hotel. I did some digging on the internet and found FILMCARS. The old NYC taxi cab was beautiful and perfect for my friend's getaway ride. I sent a message, expecting a generic email, but I was surprised to get a well thought out, detailed email from Peter, the owner and driver at FILMCARS. From my initial message until the wedding day, Peter was extremely responsive and helpful. He answered all of my questions and made sure all the details were covered for the big day. His thoroughness and responsiveness relieved an enormous amount of stress during pre-wedding planning. On top of all of Peter's coordination, he offered music and a message on the back of the car for the couple. Peter went above and beyond to give my best friend and the bride a beautiful send off! We used this company for our recent wedding and found the service absolutely first rate. Right from our first enquiry email, we found the service to be professional, friendly, and highly responsive. We dealt with Peter in all our correspondence and he was our driver on our big day too. I cannot express in words just what a lovely man he is! He was really flexible about pick up and drop off times until these could be confirmed by the company organising our ceremony. He was also flexible about our drop off location, as this changed on the day. The hire is charged by the hour which helps with flexibility. The vintage checker cab itself was just wonderful. It has been really well looked after and just really made the day even more special. Peter himself was brilliant too - telling us lots of interesting stories about the car, the areas we were driving through and just himself in general. He had us at complete ease from the moment he collected us and even contributed to our photography. Peter then took the time to send us a congratulatory message after our wedding. Yes we paid for the service but Peter really does go the extra mile, and is so genuine with it too. I genuinely cannot recommend him and his company enough, they are worth every penny.

Peter was one of our kindest vendors at our September wedding. The vintage cab we used was beautiful, clean, air conditioned, and filled with cold waters for us. Peter was a pleasure to talk to and allowed us to take SO MANY photos with the car. While we were at our ceremony, he surprised us by writing a wonderful script wedding message with our names on the back windshield that looked awesome. I got married in Central Park and I wanted to add a more romantic feel to it- the very iconic NYC vintage yellow cab! Peter, our driver, was SO sweet, accomodating, and professional from the very beginning to the day of the wedding. He was very prompt in replying to all my questions, entertained us while driving to the venue by telling us the history behind the yellow cab, he even had a tire cover so it wouldn’t get on my dress when I was sitting on the hood!! It was definitely an eye catcher for the crowd and everyone in my wedding party loved it. I think it was one of the best things I’ve done for my wedding. Thank you so much Peter!

When we were trying to decide what to do for our wedding, there were so many possibilities, but one theme seemed to add romance to our story - the glamour of classic NYC. We decided to get married where we got engaged, Central Park. Our photographer knew how to use the city for the backdrop we wanted and we explored the city with our guests. Yet, the one element that stood out after the ceremony itself, was our ride in and photographs with a classic checker cab by FilmCars. Our driver, Gil, was both professional and courteous, but what more, entertaining with an incredible knowledge of the city and its history. It was as if he was part of the wedding party. The car itself was exactly out of time. A true classic, used in such period pieces on television and cinema as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Mad Men, Catch Me If You Can, and When Harry Met Sally, and was the car Lady Gaga took to her Roseland Ballroom engagements in 2014. It is a special car and it felt special being driven inside it to the ceremony. I would not have changed anything about the day. I will remember it all as one of the happiest days and our checker cab experience - allowing us to step back in time to be part of the days of NYC that are locked in the past - is a gift that I will treasure eternally. I can’t say enough good things about Peter and the cab we used for our elopement! To quote my husband it was “the highlight of the day!” (Which he corrected himself and said “a highlight” after I glared at him 😜) The day of our wedding I was a bundle of nerves- once Peter arrived though with his friendly and easy going manner- all the stress of the day melted away! We rented a vintage Checker Cab for our wedding Memorial Day weekend, and the car was gorgeous - everyone loved it! Peter and his 1968 Vintage Taxi Cab was the perfect addition to our special day. Peter was more than prompt and professional in every way. The vintage checkered Taxi Cab was in immaculate condition and definitely a showstopper! From the minute we walked down and saw Peter and the car we felt like movie stars...I can’t say enough how thrilled we are to have included this in our wedding day.

From the very first time we made contact with Peter we were impressed. His warm, friendly and enthusiastic emails helped put us at ease immediately. We are from England and it's very difficult to know that you're booking the right people from so far away. Peter came highly recommended by our wedding photographer Sascha Reinking and he did not disappoint, in fact he was a real pleasure to have on our wedding day and the service he provided was truly amazing. Peter responded to our emails extremely promptly and did everything he promised and more! The car, a 1960's checker cab was the most perfect addition to our wedding day. It made for convenient travel around the city, made us feel extremely privileged with all passers by wanting to take photos and the enthusiasm Peter had telling us stories about the car kept the conversation on the travels engaging and interesting. Peter had a great relationship with our photographer which really helped with organisation, on our wedding day they communicated between themselves which meant that we didn't have to. At the end of our ceremony after we have finished with our photographer, Peter took the time to park up and let us take some photos with our phones. He let us get in the drivers seat and he spent 10 minutes taking photos of us having fun in his amazing car. After our wedding day Peter sent us the most heart warming email, with a couple of photos he had taken of our day himself. He could not have given us better service if he tried. We can't say enough about Peter and our wonderful experience with Film Cars. Not only did his gorgeous Checker Cab complete our vision for our wedding photos and elevate our day, but spending time with Peter was fantastic. He went above and beyond to make our big day perfect, he allowed us to rock out and blast the Jersey Boys soundtrack when we needed a minute to decompress between photo stops, and when our schedule went awry and we went longer than expected, he was completely flexible in helping us to complete our wedding photos. Hiring Film Cars was a fantastic decision on our part, and whenever we see Peter's car in our neighborhood, we look at that cab with the most fond memories. We had a vintage checker cab pick my dad and me up to bring us to the church before my wedding. Peter was our contact and also our driver the day of the wedding. He is so passionate about his business and clearly loves working with his clients. The car was in pristine shape and really made a mark on our guests. He was even kind enough to wait outside the church for 1.5 hours after dropping us off so that we could take photos with the car after the ceremony and our guests could take a few as well if they wanted! Highly recommend if you're looking for a unique ride on your wedding day.

Peter is INCREDIBLE! My husband and I enlisted his help to use a 1968 checker cab as our getaway car after our ceremony in Manhattan. Everything about the rental was perfect. The car is in immaculate/pristine condition and has been well maintained. The driver/owner, Peter, is the sweetest, most genuine person I encountered during our wedding planning process. He is also very knowledgeable about his vehicles and shared fun facts about the taxi during our short drive from the church to Central Park. Peter remained in constant communication with from us from the time we booked the car (July 2017) through our wedding day (July 2018). He contacted us a few days after the wedding wishing us the best and brightest future (something that other vendors would never do!). He also saved the cork from the champagne we drank as we drove off from the church in case we wanted to save it as a memento! The cab added the perfect NYC feel to our day and was quite the head turner! Our photos with the car are beautiful and were such a unique touch to our day! I would highly recommend Peter’s services to all couples looking for the perfect enhancement to their getaway. Peter is truly a class act, and the checker cab was definitely one of the best additions to our wedding day. Thank you Peter!!
