Finest Kind Caterers

We chose Finest Kind after getting a quick response, sitting down and trying the food and really enjoying meeting with Virginia and liking the options/pricing. Virginia and her staff did do an excellent job the day of the wedding, the food all came out great and there was leftovers that we were able to keep and the service/servers were all extremely pleasant and accommodating. That being said as we started nearing the wedding date it became increasingly difficult to communicate with her and she was frustratingly slow at responding if at all and I ended up asking my wedding planner to do the communicating as it was upsetting. In the end there were things that I just didn’t get to have as she wouldn’t respond such as table skirts for the head tables, etc. Two days before the wedding we ended up getting a final quote that was much more than we planned, I did ask for clarification and never got a response at all which was extremely disappointing and honestly overwhelming when you’re watching a budget so closely at that point. Lastly, she had said that appetizers would be delivered to the wedding party during photos which also didn’t happen. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend her due to the communication issues that caused more stress than it was worth. That being said her food was delicious, her pricing was reasonable (although changed last minute), and the servers were great!!

We used Finest Kind because they catered my cousins wedding so we already knew how amazing the food was!! Virginia and her staff did a great job and everyone raved about the food. We decided not to do a traditional sit down dinner, instead we chose a huge array of hor d'oeuvres and I am SO HAPPY we decided to do so. We were a little worried there wasn't going to be enough food, but that was certainly not the case. Everyone ate quite a bit saying how stuffed they were and we still had food left over that she packed up for us to keep. The reasons I am not giving 5 stars is because it was hard for us to get a hold of her a few times (not half as bad as some of the other caterers we were interested in in the beginning), but it would take her a few days to get back to us and I don't like that. Also, not her fault, but apparently Sysco was late with the delivery, so she had to use the ovens at the venue and cook during the cocktail hour... I was very nervous about that but the guests were impressed because the food was hot and right out of the oven!! It could have been much worse, but it really did work out perfectly.

Virgina was very friendly and always answered when I called. She took time to meet with me a couple weeks before the wedding to go over final details and answer all my questions. Virgina even made me a "special" cake without sugar. I was the BEST cake I have ever had!Our guest all loved the food
