Our wedding was beautiful. We had the ceremony and reception on the property and there were no complaints from 3 to 10 on our wedding day (other than a sprained ankle caused by the...
bumpy ground while I was being walked down the isle). Everything has AMAZING potential. Unfortunately, we had a lot of difficulties and we had to do a lot of work to have the memorable wedding we had. First, be prepared to take pictures to document what was done and not done. The vendor owner will as well. Second, be prepared to clean the venue yourself. The venue was not ready when we arrived to decorate the day before. We were allowed to be there from 2 through the evening hours and all day on our wedding day. The venue owner stated that if we were not there during the times we were allowed then she could have done more. (She said she doesn't like to do work when guests are there decorating). We had to clean all the chairs - bringing them down from the barn to the lawn to wash them. There were cobwebs that had to be removed from the ceiling area of the barn and we had to sweep dirt up. Yes it is a barn but it wasn't a normal amount that would be expected. We damaged one area and agreed to pay a portion of the deposit but she initially refused to pay us the rest even though we cleaned up a reasonable amount. There were filled garbage bags left next to the small garbage cans but that definitely was not worth a $400 deduction. After a discussion regarding our experience and the deposit, the vendor owner told us that she would meet us in the middle but we couldn't write a review.
There are several other details we will leave out. Just be cautions and prepared to expect what you see the day you tour the venue on the day you arrive to your event. Hopefully, this review will help the owner understand that people who rent the venue shouldn't be expected to clean before their event. Since we did quite a bit of spring cleaning, there likely isn't a whole lot left to do and beautiful weddings are definitely possible there.
