Awesome. One word to describe her. I contacted Monique back in 2020 March when we got engaged. So many other wedding planners we were so expensive, but Monique worked with us. We were planning for February 12, 2021, hoping Covid wouldn't be an issue. As we all know, it was an issue. However my now husband and I decided to get married in Houston where we lived at the time. In a small ceremony. Monique was sure to check on me even though she was no where near by. She called me before and after that wedding. After that wedding we still wanted the wedding of our dreams in Charleston. Monique was able to take all my calls and kept in touch with me throughout the process. As we got closer to the wedding the reality of 2 ceremonies, 2 cocktail hours, 2 dresses, and reception to follow set in for myself and Monique. However, she handled it like champ compared to me. Few weeks before the wedding she was checking up on me as I had my MBA class finals right before the wedding and as well as days before the wedding. She was like a therapist and wedding planner all in one. The event was very successful. Minor road bumps, but what fun event doesn't have something to talk about later? And ours was to no fault of hers. Her and her staff were professional and courteous. They were able flip the ceremony with an hour block between them. It was all just awesome work! Thank you Monique! If you’re looking for a wedding planner in Charleston, SC, do yourself a favor and don’t choose Monique or Firefly Wedding & Events. Unfortunately, we found out too late that Monique and Firefly Weddings & Events did not have the ability or composure to handle a wedding with multiple moving parts. As a clients, we paid for a service and that service was poorly rendered leaving us with a less than palatable customer experience. Our family, bridal party and guest can’t stop talking about how wonderful our wedding was with the exception of the disorganized and inappropriately dressed planner/team. While they pride themselves on ensuring that the family, mother of the bride and bride have a stress free day, they was the opposite of our experience. Instead, they put my family and friends to work and we still haven’t received all of our personal decor from her. Due to their poor communication, poor planning and lack of organization, we were left dumbfounded and very frustrated. I truly regret choosing Monique and Firefly Wedding & Events as a planner for our most special day.

Monique is a talented wedding and floral designer, and she keeps it light and fun along the way! We came to the table with a precise vision of the look and feel of our wedding and The Firefly Team (and the vendors with whom they work) helped bring that vision to life. From the delicate flower arrangements to the table settings with gold flatware, and from the shrimp cocktail in champagne coupes to the chandeliers that were installed outdoors, Monique encouraged us to make some investments in the little details that ended up creating beautiful “moments” at our reception.

Monique made my now husband and I wedding so beautiful. Our guest are still talking about our wedding. Monique made the vision came to light. Monique was a pleasure to work with throughout the wedding planning. Monique was kind, responsive, and very very patient with me with some of my indecisive moments of choosing certain things for our wedding.
