etings for when we visited Savannah leading up to the wedding. She worked with us for almost two years and we never felt overwhelmed or like we didn’t know what was going on. Having a wedding in 2020 was no easy feat and we know there was no way we would’ve been able to pull it off without an awesome planner. Bonnie went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. We had to change our wedding date twice and weren’t sure if we were actually going to be able to have our dream wedding this year, but Bonnie assured us that things were going to work out and kept in constant communication with our vendors to keep everyone informed of the constant changes. We had to change our seating chart almost daily leading up to the wedding due to guest changing their pandemic travel plans and we could’ve easily been overwhelmed, but Bonnie helped us out every step of the way. Her and her team also made sure we were as hands off as could be on wedding day. The schedule she put together kept the night going without a hiccup. We had a dream wedding from beginning to end because of Bonnie and her team. Not once did we know if anything went wrong, she checked in on us constantly and one of the planners even spoke Spanish which out a ton! One of the bridesmaids dresses ripped and one of her team members sewed the dress almost instantaneously!

We chose to bring in our catering service from another city (which presented several logistical challenges). Bonnie navigated every detail and worked with the catering manager to present a flawless mulit-site event! FCE also had an in-depth list of vendors and resources for all of the things we hand not already chosen. I particularly admired everyone's ability to match our vision and respect our budget. As a team, the vendors, orchestrated by Bonnie and the FCE team, created a unique and memorable experience for both the bride and groom and their guests. I knew she was a great event planner... but she proved she was legitimately indispensable!

r who knew Savannah inside and out, who could be our partner on the ground, that we could trust to pursue our vision, since we lived in NYC. We spent three - four weeks interviewing planners, who were pretty much all the same, very energetic and enthusiastic, but none of them had a package that fit our needs, and when we asked them to develop a more personalized package, we got nowhere. Bonnie was the perfect planner for us. She listened to what we knew we wanted, and what we were sure we needed help with. She took care of scheduling all of our planning meetings, and made sure she was available for the ones we knew we needed her help with, and was there to answer any questions we had along the way. If there was anything we were worried about, Bonnie would always reply with "Don't worry, I'll take care of that", we would eventually just refer these items as Bonnie Problems or BP's, and our minds would instantly be put at ease. She was able to schedule all of our pre-wedding planning meetings and tasks into two physical planning trips to help save money on planning travel expenses. (even though we would have loved to go more often, since we loved Savannah and Bonnie even more so.) As we went through the process of planning our wedding, we found that Bonnie had built a great reputation of respect in the Savannah wedding planning community. Every Vendor we met with would say "We work with Bonnie all the time, and we LOVE her". It felt good to know the network of people we were putting together to work on our wedding respected and trusted our Planner. As we got closer to the date and felt like we needed more time to communicate, Bonnie always made herself available to answer our questions and put our minds at ease. One of the biggest struggles, with planning a wedding in Savannah, was the the culture difference. As New Yorkers, we were used to getting answer's right away, and Savannah is typically slower paced. Without Bonnie, we would have likely grown frustrated with many of our vendors, and moved on. Bonnie was able to always get us answers, or assure us she was working on getting the answers. Anytime we were growing worried with the response time, she would be honest about it being in or out of character for that typical vendor. In the end, every vendor we chose, that bonnie recommended, came through, and was the perfect choice. Anyone who would ask us, what was the biggest decision, or what was the best decision we made along the way, would always get the same answer. "Bonnie"! We affectionately refer to her as our favorite person in Savannah. If we trace back any single decision we made with our wedding, or any part that people say they loved about our wedding, it always traced back to hiring Bonnie. Whether it was a vendor she recommended, or her embracing a new or different way we wanted to do something (like how to set up our seating for the ceremony), she was always there to support our choices and recommend people that would support our vision and make our wedding day what we wanted it to be. fence for live music vs. DJ. Savannah is such an interesting city because of the venues. We had a larger wedding party of about 110 guests and we wanted an open space that wasn't a hotel. This limits available space and I wanted a DJ because of a variety in the playlist. So, why First City Events?! We talked with a few different DJ vendors (PLEASE TALK WITH MORE THAN JUST ONE). If you're on this site you're seeing the total competition. Once we talked with Bonnie I knew we were in the right place. Bonnie was EXTREMELY accommodating. We were promptly given the contract information with different price packaging. The contract and other documentation was easy to read and by no means made you feel overwhelmed with everything else going on with a wedding. Bonnie explained everything really well and told us about the company and the staff. They asked a little bit about us and what we wanted out of the entertainment. This lead us to being paired with Jeff. JEFF KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK. My wife had a strict "DO NOT PLAY LIST" as well as other requests. I had my own requests as well so I asked Jeff if we could just talk. Jeff immediately replied to my email and we set up a phone conversation. He was extremely personal and was adamant about meeting our wants and needs. He told me what he would like me do so it would help him plan the perfect evening and this truly made all the difference. My wife and I sat down and actually discussed how we wanted guests to feel since so many weddings can just fall apart once the entertainment starts. Jeff helped us here because we did not want guests requesting music directly unless it came from my wife or I. Jeff was extremely professional at all times and many guests commented how his presence was known but also not known. He didn't try to overtake the wedding and be "that loud DJ", but rather he made sure the entertainment was about the couple (you!). Jeff made us a fantastic cocktail list where our entire party just had this electric vibe during cocktail hour. We had softer music and fit in some classics for the older crowd during the dinner hour. People were also moving along to the music as they ate and you could just see the smiles on everyone's faces. Finally, we had given Jeff a list of songs we really wanted to hear and artists who we really like. The music was so perfect with how it proceeded that I really wished I had asked Jeff to make me a copy of the playlist he used so I could relive those moments on a long car trip. Why go with First City Events? Because they cater to you and they are so readily available to answer any questions or concerns you might have. I felt that my bride and I were rather "needy" because we had many requests of "dos/don'ts" but Jeff reassured us constantly that this was our day and he wanted to make it perfect. I emailed Jeff after the wedding and he said "it was my pleasure and it means everything that you two are happy." That's the service you want. Choose First City Events and make your day special!!!

Ashley made our wedding day a breeze by doing EVERYTHING for us and I can’t imagine not having her there. Kudos to you girl! I had to step in and do what I'd hired the initial planner to do, but living six hours away, I desperately needed someone in Savannah to help get us across the finish line. Fortunately, one of the vendors (who was, also very fortunately, still available for our date) recommended First City Events. Bonnie and her team were easy to work with and very accommodating. They took a large portion of the work off of our shoulders and, with two weeks in which to work, took my daughter's vision for her wedding and worked with the vendors to make the whole thing happen. They also gave us great recommendations for vendors that still needed to be secured and helped us get them lined up. As a result of this and their work on the day of the wedding, everything went smoothly and my daughter had the wedding she'd been dreaming about. The feedback we've heard regarding the wedding ceremony and reception includes words like "storybook wedding" and "flawless". In other words, our guests had no idea that three weeks prior, I had a daughter in tears and was very worried that we couldn't pull the whole thing together at literally the last minute. And it would not have happened without Bonnie and Ashley at First City Events. There are other event planners in Savannah with excellent ratings here and on other sites (and that charge more for their services, too). I know this because we read them before my daughter selected the original wedding planner. If she'd selected First City Events in the first place, I know our experience would have been much better and infinitely easier. As it happened the way it did, I was very, very pleased with the way they took over the project and made everything happen for us. There is no way to express how happy I am that we found Bonnie and her firm. I could not recommend them more highly to future brides (and their fathers)!

She kept me on track reminding me of deadlines, and as the big day got closer I was constantly reminded that I was in good hands. She was working without power, access to email and her computer at some points! She even moved an entire wedding the weekend prior to ours due to Hurricane Matthew to Atlanta. Bonnie and team handled everything from BIG things to small things and always with a smile on their face. It was so nice to come to Savannah and feel relaxed leading right up to the wedding. Their hospitality truly shined through. Her and her team were organized and had everything under control. And we can't say enough about her assistants either. They were around that day to make sure everything went smoothly! We were also thrilled to be working with FCE as our DJ. They were excellent! Our dance floor was full and they played everything that we wanted. One of my favorite memories from that night is begging them to play one more song and they did! Our entire wedding party gathered around me and my husband and sang their hearts out around us to the song he proposed to me to! I can't wait to see the video!
