Pastor Bob is wonderful! He is so personable. We took him up on his boat ride offer and it was a blast! You seriously need to take him up on it. During the planning, he gave us two ceremony options, then let us create our own ceremony from the two and whatever else we wanted to include. The ceremony went smoothly because he knew what he was doing and used the right amount of seriousness and humor. He provided us with the most perfect ceremony! My husband and I highly recommend Pastor Bob. From our very first correspondence with Pastor Bob, he made us feel comfortable and at ease. We were planning an out-of-state elopement and Pastor Bob traveled to southern, coastal GA to officiate our wedding ceremony. Pastor Bob is THE BEST! He is so friendly, professional, and truly loves what he does. He makes the biggest effort to get to know you and your future spouse, and allows you to have creative freedom with how you want your ceremony to go. We wanted a more religious ceremony, and he NAILED IT!! We had nothing but amazing compliments all night long about how beautiful our ceremony was and how incredible he is. Pastor Bob was absolutely amazing. We had so many guests come up to us afterward to tell us how awesome he was. Working with him to get the perfect script was so much fun and we ended up with a ceremony that was perfectly heartfelt but also funny and entertaining. We are also both active duty military, living overseas, and he was so accommodating with our time difference during planning. Although we met him during wedding planning he was able to deliver a ceremony that seemed like he had known us for years and was specifically tailored to our love story.

We decided to do the pre-marital counseling/officiant package with Pastor Bob and we are so glad we did!! He went out of his way to really understand us both and also came to the rehearsal which was really nice. We are so glad we went with first coast ceremonies for our wedding. We absolutely loved the ceremony message they wrote for us and worked with us to tweak it to make it our own. We got a few compliments on it! We were supposed to have Bob as our officiant but there was a small mishap and he had his one of his other officiants, Joe, take over. But Joe did a fantastic job, we loved his personality and warmth. He had a very calming presence and just the right amount of humor. I would recommend using them!

Pastor Bob officiated our elopement in St. Simon's Island and we were so impressed with his message, his enthusiasm for us a newlyweds and his passion for God! He wrote a beautiful message for our elopement that included our dog, Murphy, so it felt very personal. Pastor Bob is the BEST of the best. With a wonderful energy and care for the work he does with his couples, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect Pastor. We did a full session of marital counseling (with books) and found the experience to be warm, welcoming, and opened our hearts to each other. Because of our dual-military situation, my wife and I had to react quickly to a fluid situation to have our wedding conducted. We contacted Pastor Bob Hovey on Tuesday, and actually got everything set up and completed in time for the wedding ceremony to take place on Saturday! Working with Pastor Bob was so easy, and he gave us all the guidance and support we needed in setting up a wedding in so short a time.

We hired Bob for our premarital counseling and ceremony. Our counseling was faith based, and you could tell Bob was speaking from a place of kindness and experience. I feel he helped us build a great foundation for marriage. Our ceremony was a crowd pleaser and he made sure to encompass both of our personalities. Pastor Bob was INCREDIBLE!! He was the officiant for our wedding ceremony at The White Room in St. Augustine. Pastor Bob took the time to get to know my husband and I, and we felt a personal connection with him from the first time we talked. Bob Hovey was the best collaborative officiant. He was amicable, understanding, and prepared. He provided all the hand holding I needed, or my husband needed, while we prepared our vows and outlined a ceremony that was special and specific to us. He managed the herd of chaos that was our rehearsal to ensure we were all prepared and on the same page. He was prompt on the day of and cut quite the striking figure. His smile and laughter was infectious and his tone balanced the serious tenor of our vows and intentions. Pastor Hovey is hands down the best wedding officiant in Northeast Florida. He met with us before hand to get to know us and our family which really helped personalize our ceremony. Pastor Bob is literally the best! He did an AMAZING job officiating our wedding. We got so many compliments from our guests and everyone wanted to know where we found him. Pastor Bob is the best. We enjoyed working with him for the pre-marital counseling and the "secret" ceremony (for military reasons iykyk) and the official ceremony. He was available any time we needed to get ahold of him. He is also very military-friendly and supportive of the service and sacrifice military families make. He asked us for our input for the ceremony script which we provided and then he added some of his own flair to it, which was great. He was funny and personable, and I would 10/10 recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant. The only critique we have is that on a few occasions he mixed us up with other couples he was working with which is evidence of how in demand of an officiant he is. Also, side note, he is very very tall. I am 6'1 and looked small next to him haha.

We can not recommend Pastor Bob enough to couples getting married in the Jacksonville area. When we got engaged we were a little overwhelmed at finding an officiant in the JAX area given we live in NC. Finding Pastor Bob was like an answered prayer. He is outgoing and personable and we appreciated him taking the time to get to know us so that our wedding ceremony was personalized. Our guests all assumed we had known him for years come the day of the wedding! Pastor Bob from First Coast Ceremonies was a perfect fit for our wedding. We had numerous guests approach us to compliment the officiant. I highly recommend First Coast Ceremonies! My husband and I were supposed to have a family friend officiate our wedding, and it ended up falling through. I contacted Pastor Bob 2 weeks (yikes!) before our wedding. Though he was booked for our date, he recommended his associate Trey. Pastor Bob was so accommodating! We spoke over the phone to discuss what my husband and I were looking for in a ceremony and he then wrote out MULTIPLE different ceremony options for us to choose from. Trey was very kind and easy to work with, he provided us with a BEAUTIFUL ceremony that even my very experienced wedding planner said was one of the best she’s seen! We highly recommend First Coast Ceremonies! We first started working with Pastor Bob who is very personable and fun! Unfortunately, Pastor Bob had some medical issues come up where he needed his associate, Trey Curry, to step in to help us. Trey is great! He is close to our ages so he was very easy to relate to which made the process that much smoother. We also asked Trey to guide us through our premarital counseling. Trey was very positive, informative, direct but also a lot of fun! My husband and I both gained knowledge and tools that we will forever use in our marriage! Our small destination wedding on the beach in Amelia Island, was planned from afar. It was important for us to have a spiritually fueled ceremony even though we were not in a church building. From the first conversation with Pastor Bob we were confident that he was the right officiant. He took care to understand us and our desires. He guided us through planning the ceremony and delivered a perfect blend of inspiration, prayer, and humor. It was truly perfect on a perfect day. We never got the boat ride but know we’d have a blast if we had had more time to spend with Pastor Bob!

Our wedding was on November 14, 2021. The day was absolutely perfect. As my parents walked me down the aisle, I saw my husband. My husband saw me and got a little choked up. Our wonderful, amazing and awesome officiant, Joe McKenzie, saw that my husband was getting choked up and gave him a pat on the back. Just what my husband needed. When we first met Joe, we absolutely fell in love with him. He was perfect for us! Pastor Bob was amazing too in helping us pick out what needed to be said and Joe delivered it perfectly. Amazing group, amazing people. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful ceremony!

What an absolute joy Pastor Bob was to work with for our big day. We had no idea what we wanted or where to began. Pastor Bob did a great job explaining everything and giving us options so that our ceremony would be perfectly unique to us. We met several times prior to the event to better know each other so by the time of our wedding, there was a sense that we’ve known each other for many years. Pastor Bob is fantastic!!! Helped us craft our ceremony with many different options to choose from. Ability to mix and match from different ceremonies to create our own personalized service. Very good communication throughout the whole process. On the day of our wedding he had such a wonderful presence. He is full of light and laughter. He adds a wonderful perineal touch to the ceremony and is quite humorous throughout making everyone smile and laugh while maintaining the dignity of such an important event. Everyone who was present or watched the video of our wedding commented on how great he was. Truly couldn’t have asked for a better officiant. We were blessed to have him part of our big day. Pastor Bob did both our premarital coaching and our ceremony. We had a great time working with him! His premarital coaching was helpful, fun and relaxed. And the ceremony he helped us create was awesome - he gave us several options and helped us to make special and make it our own! Many of our wedding guests complimented how well he did the ceremony. We have nothing but good things to say about Bob Hovey and First Coast Ceremonies! Because we were coming from out of town to get married on Amelia Island, we did not know any ministers in the area. It was very important to both of us to select someone who shared our Christian values, so I researched many, many officiants and ministers. When I looked at Bob’s website and watched video clips of weddings he had performed, I knew immediately that he was going to be a good match for us and prayed that he would be available! He is wonderful! He has the most outgoing personality and he brought much laughter and joy to our wedding day! He is also very professional and it is obvious that he is very experienced in conducting weddings. He first met with us over Zoom and we talked about our vision for the wedding. He then sent us two different versions of wedding ceremonies and asked us to look over those and use them to write our own ceremony, which we did. On the day of our beach wedding, it rained off and on throughout the day. Bob had told me previously that he was setting aside the whole day just for us, and would be available to come earlier or later if we needed to because of rain. I texted him during the early afternoon and asked if he could come earlier than we had planned, which he was glad to do! We really appreciated his flexibility! Before the wedding, Bob went over every detail of the ceremony, which was so helpful. The actual ceremony was just beautiful. We believe that a wedding should be a sacred time before God. Bob took the scriptures we had chosen and incorporated them into his message. He did a wonderful job of explaining God’s plan for marriage. But his sense of humor and his lightheartedness gave our wedding a special touch! He even snapped some pictures for us on his cell phone after the wedding, which was so nice. Our whole family really enjoyed meeting and getting to know Bob! If you are looking for a wonderful minister to perform your wedding, look no farther! Bob is fantastic and you will not find anyone better!

Pastor Bob is amazing! We were nervous when searching for an officiant for our wedding that would fit what we were looking for. We currently live in Orlando and had connections near home but needed someone where our wedding venue was in the St. Augustine area. We found Pastor Bob with a First Coast Ceremonies from The Knot and contacted Pastor Bob by email and he immediately responded and set up a phone conversation with us. We immediately felt at ease talking with Pastor Bob for he was very kind, funny and easy to talk to. We loved how he took the time to get to know us and even offered to meet with us prior. The entire process was very smooth and he was able to guide us through vow process and events leading up to the day of. Overall very impressed with Pastor Bob and we now consider him part of the family. Highly recommend!

Pastor Bob was such an amazing officiant to work with. He responds quickly and made the whole process seamless. We spoke with several other officiants and he really stood out above the rest. He has such charisma and personality that you feel like you aren't meeting for the first time. We even had several of our friends ask how long we've known him, because he did such a great job making it feel personal. I really like how he sent us two different options after talking to us and we could cut and paste and blend the two to make our draft. Although we didn't take advantage of these services he will also help you write your own vows, offers counseling, and even will take you on his boat if you live in the area! During our wedding our flower pedestal behind us fell over and he did a great job tying it in to the ceremony which made everyone laugh. I feel like that happening just made it even more perfect. If we could give 10 stars we would! We are from Miami and decided on a venue in St. Augustine. While doing our research on pastors we came across Pastor Bob and we booked him immediately! Pastor Bob was a joy to work with. He was the officiate at our wedding and he made our ceremony very personal and special. He took time to get to know my husband and I which meant so much to us. Getting married out of state, we were worried we would not have the chance to connect with the pastor that would marry us. Our wedding planner quickly recommended us to Pastor Bob and I am so grateful she did! My husband and I did premarital counseling with Pastor Bob where he welcomed us into his home and took time to invest in our relationship. During our premarital counseling, we learned more about one another, creating a strong foundation for our marriage. At our rehearsal dinner, Pastor Bob explained the biblical meaning of marriage along with saying a prayer over our marriage. It was very genuine and beautifully spoken. My husband and I worked with both Pastor Bob and Joe McKenzie to make our wedding ceremony perfect! We worked with Pastor Bob on writing the ceremony and then Joe performed the ceremony for us on our wedding day. Both Bob and Joe were wonderful to work with! They were both so nice and easy to work with and were very helpful with making a ceremony that was tailored to us. The teamwork worked out perfectly and I couldn't be more happy with how our wedding ceremony was both written and performed!

Pastor Bob officiated our wedding and he was SO much fun to work with! He is such a charismatic, warm, kind person and we really enjoyed having him officiate our ceremony. Pastor Bob officiated our wedding in August this year and I knew when I saw his reviews that I HAD TO HAVE HIM. He was prompt in his response back to me and quickly set up a meeting to see if we were a good fit. He even offered to meet my husband and I on our side of town which I was grateful for. He was so thorough in explaining his process and sent me 2 options for the ceremony and I was able to piece together word for word exactly what he would say during our vows. He had an amazing presence while delivering our vows and was so personable and that was very important to me, because who wants to sit through a stuffy wedding?? Cue to the reception, Pastor Bob was the life of the party!!! He was out on the dance floor, my parents loved having him sit at their table as they were able to find many things to connect on. Pastor Bob Hovey performed our wedding ceremony at the Treasury on the Plaza in November 2020. Pastor Bob did an amazing job connecting and learning about us and what makes our relationship special prior to writing out any ceremony wording. By writing up different options and allowing my husband and I to put aspects of both that we felt most relatable to our relationship allowed us to create a wedding ceremony that was special and unique to us. We loved the personal touches that Pastor Bob included in our ceremony and the relationship that we created throughout the process. Pastor Bob also did a fantastic job of communicating throughout the process that made the planning process of the most important part of a wedding ceremony go off without a hitch.

When we needed to find someone to marry us, we were very anxious about someone that would fit in with our personalities. We wanted something traditional with a little bit of God and something that wouldn’t be too much for an outdoor ceremony in Florida. Pastor Bob wrote us the most wonderful ceremony, including personal touches that made it so perfect for us and every little bit that we wanted. We were married by his partner/son in law, Joe, who was so perfect for us that I don’t think I could’ve picked anyone better. Joe is comfortable and inviting, the perfect mixture of professional and personable. He made our wedding ceremony about us, and found humor with us and our funny quirks.
