for my middle daughters wedding(11-11-23); First Dance is still brought up 6 years later from my oldest daughters wedding (3/3/18). Our master of events payed attention to the room & everyone in it, kept the events flowing smoothly, and the dance floor was completely filled at both weddings. They took extra care in making sure that names were pronounced CORRECTLY during the “meet my bridal party & family” time of the reception. First Dance IS cost effective, prompt, & focused on the attention to detail. You won’t be disappointed if you contract them for your event. They treated everyone with respect, actively listened to our guests & played as many of the song that were requested as possible making sure our guests had a memorable evening. A good DJ can make or break your event. A GREAT DJ will keep family, friends, & co-workers reminiscing about the little details of your wedding & reliving your day over & over with fondness. I have 1 more daughter to get married & 1st Dance will be our ONLY call when we start planning her future reception.

ough the reception had a good balance of slow and dance songs. They were quick to reply and even through our inevitable miscommunications things were rectified quickly and easily. They did a great job and would recommend them in the future.

a wedding venue. After contracts were signed and deposits were made (he even gave us a discount because I am retired military), we scheduled a walk through-we were both very excited and hopeful because we are both music lovers and a DJ can really make or break your wedding. My wife took time off work to meet Bruce at the farm; the appointment time came and went with no sign of Bruce, so my wife tried calling/texting/emailing him. He eventually did answer via text apologizing and saying he forgot. While we understand that things happen and people sometimes forget, we felt that his behavior beyond that was unprofessional. If you make a mistake, you CALL your clients to apologize and reschedule, not text. Bruce assured my wife (over text) that he would "come see the site this week". She reminded him that it’s a private residence and he can’t just stop by whenever he wants, one of us must be with him. Then he texted "Ok, I'm on my way up then". My wife then called him because who knows how much longer she'd have to wait for him to get there (he was approx. 30 miles/45 min away). She said she cannot take that much time off of work and they would need to reschedule. At this point we seriously considered firing him and losing our deposit, but we couldn't find anyone else at such short notice, so we moved forward. I met him for a walk through a few weeks later. Fast forward to our wedding and the plethora of things that went poorly: -Bruce mistook me for the Officiant (after already having met me) -He left the speakers on (buzzing the whole time) while our officiant was speaking (he wasn't mic'ed and the speaker buzzing drowned him out) -He played the wrong version of our recessional song after we explicitly asked for a certain version of that song in our song request list -In our initial interview with him, we requested no party/disco lights for the reception, but he had them going anyway (I guess he forgot that too, or just didn't take notes) -My wife's best friend was about to leave, and we had a slow song on our request list specifically for her. My wife went up and asked Bruce to play it, which he did the very next song. He then proceeded to play 4 more slow songs which kind of killed the mood for a while. -To his credit, he did ask my wife during the reception if we would allow requests, which she said "yes, as long as they aren’t on the DONT PLAY list), however we heard from several of our guests that he was: "not friendly" "short" and even "rude" towards them; our officiate said "he was kind of an asshole". While he was not rude to either my wife or I, I can say that he did look miserable the entire time he was there. All in all, if we had to do this over again, we would have saved the money and just made a playlist on our phone. We would not hire First Dance Entertainment again and we would not recommend him to anyone else. We also hope that this feedback will prompt Bruce to consider changes to how he manages his business and not simply cause him to become defensive.

ave found First Dance for our reception. Everyone dancing right away. We were told by a guest that our wedding was the best one they had been to yet and without a doubt we can credit Bruce for that! He was very responsive since the first time I had reached out and was so easy to communicate with.

and he broke it down in easy steps that I could focus on to help plan the event. Music plays such a big part of the big day, and Bruce was there to make sure it all went off without a hitch. I had numerous friends and family members say how great the music choices were based on a list of ideas I had given Bruce during our last meeting. He even offered to keep the party going longer - though our venue didn't allow that - because everyone was having such a great time. The price of the package was reasonable and he had all the equipment! It was a breeze compared to other vendors I worked with. I would highly recommend!

the announcement moving everyone to cocktail hour, the music during dinner, our welcome announcement, first dance and everything during the reception...AMAZING! When guests requested a song, he immediately played it, the dance floor was never empty and everyone very, very much enjoyed themselves. He was ABOVE and BEYOND what I expected! I would HIGHLY recommend Evan and First Dance Entertainment if you are in the need of a DJ.

w songs were played at all during the dancing part of reception despite many slow longs being on the list. The entrance to the bridal party was messed up. The only reason I'm giving 3 stats is because club dancing music was pretty much the only songs he decided to play for the dancing part kept people on the dance floor moving. I wasnt going to let the entrance mess up my view of first dance until I had almost every single vendor I hired come up to me at some point throughout my reception stating this is one of the worst djs they've ever seen at a wedding, no one could understand anything he was saying over the mic, because no one could understand everyone missed the cake cutting except the photographer because he was aware of the cake cutting song. Overall Bruce was beyond nice but unfortunately missed the mark with the wedding.

The up-lighting was just right to create an atmosphere where everyone was dancing and having a great time. We can not thank them enough. As the wedding planner for this event, I will definitely request their services for my next wedding and highly recommend First Dance Entertainment to anyone planning an event, large or small.

We loved that our guests were able to request any song and it would be played (as long as it wasn't on our do not play list). My Maid of Honor even asked the morning of the wedding to have music incorporated into her speech and that was executed perfectly as well. Our guests had a blast, and our dance floor was packed the whole night! We highly recommend.

a superb job. From the ceremony music, to dinner, to keeping our dance floor packed all night long, they made sure everyone had a great time and kept the music rolling. All of the songs we asked for were played. They even extended our dollar dance from 3 songs to 4 when our lines far exceeded our expectations. A great big thank you to Bruce and his partner. They took wonderful care of us from beginning to end with ease and grace. They were thoughtful, professional, and affordable. Highly recommend.

reviews I assumed there would be no issue with our wedding. But Bruce was late, and not only was he late but he was having equipment issues. So because there was no music to signal the start of the wedding and my coordinators had to scramble to get music going, our wedding was late getting started. Which caused me great stress. And when I finally did see him, he was wearing a sweatsuit. When in the document he sent I selected the suit and tie option. For the dinner, he did eventually get some music going, but it did not sound good coming out of the speakers and then he started playing the wrong music, he played our reception playlist for 3 songs before it was noticed and he switched over. Throughout dinner and the speeches the speakers had feedback issues, and there was a scratching noise. It was hard to focus and I was extremely upset and disappointed, not understanding what was going on. He kept going back and forth, eventually coming in with a new speaker(?) but still nothing worked entirely correct. My photographer, videographer, and coordinators were trying to help him during the entire night. Sometime during the early part of the dance time, he started packing up his stuff to leave. Thankfully by this time, I stopped paying attention to him and my coordinators got music hooked up through the venue's system so we at least had music. It wasn't until the wedding was over did he come over to apologize and said something about new equipment not working. He did offer and a few days later refunded me the money I paid, but it still can't make up for the stress he caused me the day of.

n praise and worship so I wasn’t exactly sure how to achieve the perfect vibe. They were great mixing things up, having a little bit of everything. We had a full dance floor with everyone having lots of fun! They made sure everything flowed perfectly throughout the evening. They were professional and easy to work with. Our wedding was one of the happiest days of my life and one of the best parties I’ve ever thrown and Bruce and Adam had a large part in making that happen. If I should need a DJ for anything else, I will definitely be calling First Dance Entertainment LLC.

sking questions about confusing parts that helped me to spot mistakes/typos I had made, and ultimately iron out some of the kinks ahead of time so that they didn't occur during my wedding reception. He performed all of his set up and tear down, offered to inspect the venue ahead of time and made sure to get the pronunciation of our names correct. In addition to playing our music with smooth transitions, he MC'd for us, ensuring that people knew what to do or to expect as the night progressed. Perhaps most importantly, Bruce is just a kind man. I will happily hire him again if the need arises.

dable. The sound equipment was on point. He did the music for the outside ceremony as well as the reception inside. Honored our requests of song choices and the level they were to be played at during the ceremony and entire reception. Since we had a broad range in age group he managed to play something for everyone to dance to. I highly recommend them. Our daughters wedding was on the Eastern Shore and he sent Adam to meet us at the venue prior to and went over all the specifics so that set up on the day of was a breeze. With so many other things to worry about on the actual wedding day this was not one of them.
