I am a 61 year old woman, and as mother of the bride, Jacquelyn made me look amazing. The make up was done perfectly- it was all very natural looking and didn’t feel heavy. She explained every step of the process as she went along so we weren’t left wondering what it would feel like while the make up was being put on. She was very friendly and easy to talk to. I would definitely recommend her to anyone wanting to look great but look like it took minimal effort! Fantastic job !!

Jacquelyn was SO great! I don't wear much makeup and don't know much about it - on my wedding day, she made me feel the most beautiful I have ever felt in my life without making it feel like I was wearing too much, and she kept me informed on what she was doing the whole way though. Her skill is evident well before you sit in her chair, and the experience once you are under her brush only serves to reinforce what you already gleaned from reviews, her portfolio and conversations and emails with her. Her passion for what she does is a force unto itself, one that injects energy into both her art and, at long last, your wedding day. I might offer, though, that the true pièce de résistance of working with Jacquelyn is her aura: Though vibey, though always effervescent and energetic, her aura is at its core warm and supportive. During our first conversation, we discussed how her business model draws upon her makeup artistry and her background in counseling and education, likening her services to accompanying celebrants through metamorphoses. In that spirit, Jacquelyn IS the cocoon that offers celebrants support as they go through two metamorphic processes on their wedding days: First, a temporary transformation through her makeup application for the day and, second, a more indelible one as they take their vows. As a bride facing so many societally imposed expectations, so many emotionally charged moments leading up to and on my wedding day, that cocoon - Jacquelyn - was a sanctuary of emotional support, safety and connection during a time which, for me at least, felt like it was lacking all three. I'll wrap this love note up. Jacquelyn was amazing at my trial, taking my inspiration photos and doing exactly what we thought I wanted. She was patient in the days after as I sent her jumbled messages, trying to express changes that would get us closer to what I had in mind. She did my rehearsal dinner makeup and used it as a wedding preview -- flawless execution. And as for my wedding day makeup... I felt like a goddess. Working with Jacquelyn, I not only felt the most beautiful I have EVER felt in my life, but I felt seen, heard and supported. It was an honor and a pleasure to have First Looks by my side on such a significant day. I honestly would not have wanted anyone else there.

As a longtime friend of Jacquelyn's I've seen firsthand what excellent work she does, but I was still blown away by the service she provided. Jacqueline was easily one of our favorite vendors that we hired for our big day! She’s incredibly talented plus her upbeat personality makes hiring her a win-win. Jacqueline’s style can range from natural to glam so I asked her for a neutral look. As someone who normally just wears a tinted sunscreen and concealer - a full face of make up seemed so scary to me. Jacqueline walked me through every step of what she was doing. She’s a consent queen and like to keep her celebrants informed of what’s she’s doing or what to expect. When I first looked in the mirror - I’m not going to lie - I was overwhelmed. It seemed like so much make up compared to what I wear everyday but let me tell you - it was absolutely stunning in photos and I have no regrets! Jacqueline was also receptive to tweaks and let me have my moment of “oh my god this is too much”. I was also quite picky about my lip color so she mixed a custom lip for me! The day off - we inevitably got off schedule with other vendors and tension was high but J kept her cool, kept it light, and honestly made the getting ready experience. All of our make up lasted and again - photographed amazing! If Jacqueline is available - I would without a doubt recommend hiring her. She was a fantastic investment and so professional!

I remember the day my friend had her trial with Jacquelyn she sent our group chat a video of her makeup and was so estatic about the experience and went on about how amazing it all went. Going into the day of the wedding and remembering how excited the bride was about the makeup I couldn’t wait to experience it for myself! Having been in a few weddings and getting my makeup done Jacquelyn truly is the best! She listens to your wants and makes your vision come to life while adding her expertise to make your look exactly what you want. My experience with First Looks was nothing short of perfect!! Jacquelyn is so personable and my makeup was truly flawless. As someone with serious skin difficulties (think dry, red, and flaky due to allergies and stress), I was nervous going into the day because I didn’t want to feel self-conscious about my skin on a day that so many pictures are taken and moments memorialized forever. I was so relieved to look in the mirror and see the magic Jacquelyn worked! My makeup looked fantastic, and it lasted all day despite sweat and (happy) tears!

We tweaked what was needed after the trial appointment and I received so many compliments about my makeup! On a practical note the whole planning process went super smoothly. Jacquelyn is not only exceptional at her craft, but more importantly she is THE person you want in your corner during the entire wedding process. I used her for both my bridal makeup, as well as for emotional support sessions. I couldn't recommend her more for both! Makeup-wise, she is so intentional about focusing on how you FEEL, not just the end result of how you look. She makes sure to emphasize YOU throughout the entire process, reiterating that anything can be changed at any time. Jacquelyn is gentle, encouraging, and uplifting throughout the entire application process, and will be your number one hype woman throughout. On wedding day, she'll be there to teach you how to cry properly (a very important piece for my day), and she even helped out with odds and ends between my application and my moms to make the day go smoother. She (along with the makeup that she applied) made me feel so confident and glamorous, but still authentic. I never felt like I was in a costume, but rather that my natural beauty was enhanced. She also did my mom's makeup, and my mom was so pleased by everything Jacquelyn did, but even more so with who she is. The emotional support sessions are something so unique to the wedding world, but so needed! We focused on my communication style throughout the wedding process, as well as how to navigate fears, worries, tough relationships, and new feelings that come with the territory of planning and experiencing a wedding. It was so nice to have someone to listen as an unbiased third party, as well as offer suggestions and tips on how to navigate big feelings, conversations, and stressors. There were feelings and worries that came up during the planning process that I could not have anticipated, and having someone as seasoned as Jacquelyn understand my feelings, validate them, and work through solutions with me made the day even more flawless. I was the calmest I'd been throughout the entire wedding planning process on my wedding day, and so much of that is thanks to her. Jacquelyn is a bright light in the wedding world. She is intentional, authentic, energetic, kind, and caring. She highlights her celebrants in the most beautiful way, and supports you as a human being, not just as a client. I highly recommend Jacquelyn for both makeup and emotional support for your wedding day. You will not regret it.

Jacquelyn is without a doubt one of the most genuine, uplifting people I have ever met and she’s undeniably talented as a makeup artist! When I walked into our trial, I knew that she was the exact type of individual I wanted as a part of my vendor team. As an artist, Jacquelyn is both incredibly talented and in tune to what her clients want out of their time with her. As someone who doesn't wear a lot of makeup or know the terminology to describe certain looks, Jacquelyn was able to help me describe the vibe I was looking for and brought that look to life. It is clearly her passion to make her clients feel beautiful both inside and out, and that is exactly how I felt both at my trial and on my wedding day. I loved that she would give "sneak peeks" throughout the session to make sure I liked the direction the makeup was going, but that she also held on to the "big reveal" until the very end. The entire process from start to finish made me feel so beautiful! The compliments I received were endless and I just love looking back on our photos and feeling so beautiful in my skin. As a person, Jacquelyn is such a bright light. She is bubbly, kind, a great listener, and so charismatic - my wedding party had an absolute blast with her as our hype woman. She had us all giggling, dancing, singing, and feeling like superstars in the way she would cheer for us and hype us up. My wedding party still talks about Jacquelyn and how much they loved both the makeup services she provided AND the energy she gave our morning. A couple extra special things that are worth mentioning: Jacquelyn offers emotional support services both during wedding planning and for the day of. I am so grateful that I met with Jacquelyn before my wedding to help center myself and my goals for the day. I am also thankful that I elected to have Jacquelyn with us until the start of the ceremony - not just for makeup touch ups and meditations but for all the additional things she did for us beyond her contract - helping hold flowers, fixing dresses, getting water ... seriously Jacquelyn is SUPERWOMAN and someone you need in your corner the day of. One thing that really stuck out to me was that, when I had my makeup trial with her, during the “big reveal” she looked away so that I wouldn’t see her watching me react. In other words, she let me have the moment to myself and allowed me to have an honest reaction, without having to react for her. I felt so empowered and respected. Jacquelyn was the makeup artist for my daughters wedding in June and she was fantastic! I usually do not wear a lot of makeup and I was a little bit nervous to be “all done up,” but I explained to Jacquelyn that I wanted a natural look and she nailed it! Others wanted a more glam look for the day, which she also delivered flawlessly. She made me and the entire wedding party feel so comfortable during the entire experience. Jacquelyn was awesome! She was easy going, upbeat, and helped make the morning fun with as little stress as possible. She asked what type of look you were going for (natural, glamorous, etc) and actually listened to what you said. While she was doing your make-up, Jacquelyn would always tell you exactly what she was doing and when she would be touching your face, which I really appreciated. She also waited to do everyone's lips until right before pictures, so they weren't at all messed up from eating or drinking. She was willing to run and grab things we forget during pictures, which was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

First Looks LLC did the makeup for a friend's wedding that I was in. Jacquelyn was so friendly and personable. Not only did she do a great job on my makeup (and with very little direction from me as I don't typically wear makeup and don't know where to begin when applying it), but she also talked me through each step of the makeup application process so I understood what she was doing while also carrying a nice general conversation on the side. On top of all this Jacquelyn did the makeup for all the ladies in the wedding (8 + ladies)! I've been at other weddings where multiple makeup artists are needed to do what Jacquelyn did for the same 4pm wedding deadline. Jaquelyn was efficient, calm, and pleasant all day! She even helped me zip up my dress when the group was finishing getting ready before the photos. If I wasn't already married, I would hire First Looks LLC for my wedding! I recently got married and had Jacquelyn do make-up for myself and my bridal party (and some concealer for the ring bearer after he accidentally walked into a door). She was incredibly professional throughout the entire planning process and worked with us to re-schedule several times due to COVID. When it came time for the actual day, she showed up prepared not only for outstanding make-up application but to handle any situation that arose. I’m not one who usually wears make-up, so am always a little nervous when it comes to someone else applying my make-up but Jacquelyn did an incredible job making me feel like simply a more beautiful version of myself. She also brought her background in educational advising and counseling with her, and as a result helped work through a couple situations involving rising emotions and stress. She is an outstandingly phenomenal make-up artist, but she also brings a different and unique skillset from her background in advising that makes the whole planning process and day as painless as it can be.

I can't say enough about how amazing Jacquelyn did with my makeup for my wedding! I wear almost no makeup normally and she walked me through the whole process. She is so knowledgeable with her work and it was so enjoyable to learn about what she was doing as she was doing it. Her passion for enhancing the beauty you already have inside and out was evident throughout the whole day. I loved the final look of my face as well as everyone in the wedding party! Makeup aside, she was a joyfu and grounding advocate that I didn't know I needed. When my nerves were the highest they had been all morning, she made sure to take a few minutes to guide me through a meditation. There is nobody I’d rather have do my makeup than Jackie! She is an amazing artist, and she’s so skilled in capturing and highlighting every person’s unique beauty. Her support, encouragement, and availability throughout my entire wedding planning process was so valuable. She made wedding day preparations so fun and easy. Her professionalism and sanitation is unmatched, too! She takes special care to ensure each face gets clean equipment and makes sure each person feels secure and confident with their look! Jacquelyn has done my makeup on several occasions throughout the years, from striking glamour, to fresh natural, which is what I requested for my wedding day. She totally nailed it with my look. I felt very safe with her current health and safety precautions in place. For my trial, she replicated some photos that I showed her, but adjusted them to fit my eye shape and my skin tone. I felt very comfortable telling her if there was something that I didn't like (which I am notoriously terrible at in general), and made changes that day. On the day of my wedding, Jacquelyn came prepared with a playlist, dad jokes (those are optional), and a fun and positive energy that made us feel relaxed and really enjoy the morning. She had taken the time after my trial to think about my desired look and made some changes that not only brought it to the next level, but also made me feel exactly how I envisioned. First Looks LLC did my makeup for a wedding I was in a few months ago. From the point of view of someone that doesn't wear a lot of makeup, I was shocked when I saw the cases of makeup that Jacquelyn brought with her. But as soon as I sat in her chair, she made me feel comfortable and excited about getting my makeup professionally done! There were some bridesmaids that initially declined having their makeup done. My sister and I had our make up done for our cousin’s wedding by Jacquelyn. She was early for the appointment and did an amazing job on both of us and was able to get both of our make up done in time to make it to the wedding. Jacquelyn Was very patient and precise with our make up and made sure to ask us about our preferences on look and style.
