Working with First Mate was one of the BEST decisions we made for our wedding. Chad was the photographer for my sister's wedding in 2017, so we already knew we were in the best hands, but we had the absolute best experience with him again! Chad made us felt so at ease and comfortable during all of our getting ready/formal/couples photos. He is a true professional and wedding expert. He even helped the groomsmen with their boutonnieres! We would 10/10 recommend him! We are hoping to use First Mate for future family weddings!

Friends of mine had used Chad for their wedding a few years ago and were really please with the outcome, so I decided to reach out. After speaking with him and looking at his site, I knew First Mate Photography was the one. Not only was his photography style exactly what I was looking for, but I felt very comfortable with our level of communication. He took such beautiful photos both during and after the ceremony, yet also understood that I am not one to stand around posing for pictures. He was truly a pleasure to work with and I would definitely use Chad again if the opportunity ever came up.

Working with Chad was a total dream. From our engagement session (what fun to run around the most beautiful nooks of Central Park), to the excitement of knowing that Chad arrived the day of our wedding and would be able to capture the day so beautifully. I saw him out my bridal suite window scoping our the grounds and I knew magic was about to happen. He was awesome to work with, always delivered the photos on time and was prompt in responding, and had the right mix of structure / laid back style to ensure everything was captured naturally. Onto talent: Chad is incredibly talented, and I realized that while my goal was to hire someone whose style I liked, it was clear that Chad's style is really his unique ability to create a dramatic and natural capture of people and settings. I found Chad through Instagram and lusted after each one of his images. I knew we had to use him (even changed our first wedding date so that we could make sure we had him) and we were blown away by his work. He is calm, collected, and professional in the moment. Before and after the wedding he was attentive to details and responding quickly to my emails and parade of questions. Our images came out phenomenal. We had hoped for a candid and natural take on our wedding and he captured that perfectly. Cannot recommend First Mate Photo enough. Thank you so much Chad!
