Fitz is not only a kind human being, he's such a talented and truly exceptional photographer. His photos are superior to anything I've seen. He's not your typical "wedding photographer" in the sense that nothing felt over-done, over-produced, over-directed... no pose was held too long or made to feel awkward or inauthentic. He brought out the best in everyone and made everyone around him as comfortable as possible. I've been to weddings where it felt like the photographer "ran the show" but Fitz and his assistant, Pam, moved fluidly with the spontaneity of the moment, the people, and environment. Their presence was nearly imperceptible during our wedding which to me, is a sign of a good photographer. He has an extremely creative eye and really goes above and beyond to get "the shot" — and every single photo that he produces, whether digital or polaroid, feels like that. We trusted his vision and in return, he gave us such a gift — the authenticity of the moments (the ones you want captured and the ones you don't even know are happening.) Thank you, Fitz, for taking such an active role in our wedding before, during & after to ensure that we can remember the best parts of our special day. Fitz is a type of photographer whom commits to his artistry and unique taste in photo deliverables and really sticks to his style. If you've been scrolling through thousands of bright, blown out background wedding photos and stopped scrolling at Fitz's photo, you probably have an answer already of who to hire to photograph your special day. Fitz stayed loyal with our commitment even after 2 Pandemic wedding date pushes and venue changes. He delivered amazing photos and I didn't have to tell him much to do. If you have specific poses you need to have delivered, make sure to mention to him though. He's a calm, collect, and observant shooter and even when doing family photos with 75+ guests he took the time to compose shots and gave directions to the subjects, which led to great group photos you really want. During the events, he stayed unnoticed. I didn't even know he was there. I was able to be myself and he captured images and moments without having the guests be on an alert that a camera is pointed at them. Overall I'm incredibly happy with his work. I cannot say enough good things about fitz! When we were looking for a wedding photographer we were immediately drawn to fitz' photography style, its extremely artistic and moody, and cinematic. Not the typical photography you see every day and that's exactly what we wanted. He was very quick to respond to any questions I had before signing a contract, he flew in to do our shoot the day of the wedding and was right on time if not a bit early to get acquainted and scout the best spots for photos, he was extremely fun and upbeat to work with, made all of us laugh and have a great time, know alot of couples can't wait to get the photography part of the wedding over with but we had an absolute blast and it was actually one of the highlights of our day! We were so happy with our photos ! We chose Fitz to be our photographer for our engagement shoot and wedding. My fiance and I spent a long time looking for our photographer as we wanted to make sure that we would have photos that we would love see over and over again (& not hidden away in a box somewhere). So far we are very happy with Fitz and his work. He did an excellent job capturing our personalities during our engagement shoot and made sure that we didn't get the typical cookie cutter pictures at the end. Fitz has a fantastic eye for color and composition, which can definitely be seen in his work. Fitz is probably the most amazing photographer that I've ever worked with. Since the very beginning when deciding which vendors to go with he was always so quick in responding and so professional. We decided to do engagement photos and our wedding photos with him and I couldn't be happier. You get sneak peeks so quickly and his work his pure art. Fitz did our engagement shoot photography. Not only did he make us comfortable, he was so much fun to shoot with! He really takes into account the light composition and landscape which result in beautiful editorial photos — we chose Fitz for this reason. Let me start by saying I am VERY PARTICULAR when it comes to photographers. As someone who shot film and digital for many years, I often looked at people's wedding photos and thought that there wasn't anything special about them. No story, no soul. When I first saw Fitz's work online, I knew that that THIS was the photographer my (then) fiance and I needed to have. Meeting in person, he was relaxed and professional. We used him and his team for our engagement photos, wedding photos and photobooth. My husband and I were very impressed with everything. The engagement photos are great - he also was able to offer outfit/color advice based on our location - very helpful! The photo booth at the reception was also a hit! Let's talk about the most important part - the wedding photos! They are STUNNING. They arrived on time and so did the sneak peek! I'm obsessed with his images of that day- my only wish is that I have more of them! (as a note, it doesn't matter how many photos I have, I always want more!). They tell a story, show emotion and are edited well. Everyone who sees them says the same thing - "they look like they are out of a magazine!" My "new" tradition is sharing 2 on social every Sunday and even after almost 5 months - I still have way more to go! :) I wouldn't hesitate a moment in recommending Fitz and his team a thousand times over. Your special day cannot and should not be trusted to anyone else!

Fitz photographed our wedding in Palm Springs in May and we couldn’t be happier with the end result! Being an Art Director for one of the biggest agencies in the world, I’ve grown accustomed to working with some of the best photographers and I’m able to recognize talent very easily. When we found Fitz’s work online and had a phone call with him, we knew he was the perfect fit for what we wanted. His attention to detail is insane and his storytelling skills made our day truly magical. The cinematic feel that we were looking for is where Fitz’s work really shines. He is a master of light and shadow and is always in the right place at the right time. He was also great at leading his team and working with our videographers to ensure a consistent vision throughout the entire day. It was an honor to have Fitz as the photographer for our wedding back in July. His professionalism and expertise were unparalleled. I was a little apprehensive about the idea of a professional photographer for our wedding day as I'm naturally not particularly comfortable in front of a camera, however this was certainly not the case with Fitz. First off, I must indicate that both my wife and I are photographers as well. So I think our perspective is a little different than your average couple, and perhaps our decision to go with Fitz a more critical one. Having done a few weddings ourselves, and knowing what is involved, we knew from the first phone call (aside from his beautiful work) that Fitz was the right artist for our wedding. Fitz has a relaxed demeanor and friendly personality. He doesn’t require, nor gives, difficult direction and he’s able to create beautiful images quickly and effortlessly. I can tell that his fundamentals allow him to create unique images as well, which is a sign of an artist that is true to his craft. We specifically chose his style of cinematic photography because we wanted something different than what’s typical. More than likely you are reading this review because you are looking at a few photographers to shoot your wedding. Do yourself a favor and book Fitz, he’s easy to get along with, and he’ll make the photography part effortless. In conclusion, we are very happy with our photos, and we will cherish them forever. After all, the only thing you will have left of that special day are the memories. Make sure you capture them well ;)

Our photographer, Fitz Carlisle is simply the best. When you first meet with Fitz, you'll understand why. Fitz Carlile was everything we could have hoped for and more for our wedding photography. Before finding him, we weren’t really sure what we were looking for in a wedding photographer, but after seeing his work - his candid shots, his use of lighting, and other reviews, it was clear Fitz was the photographer we wanted to move forward with. He arranged a call with us and we really appreciated how transparent he was with expectations (he takes 50-60 GREAT and purposeful photos an hour, not 100+ photos an hour), price (cost for him and 2nd photographer plus help planning a tentative schedule for the day), and helped us think of questions we hadn’t thought about before. He also met us in person before the wedding so we could iron out any concerns, he could get a pulse on who we are and what we’re all about to help get a sense of what kinds of pictures we’d take the day of. He was prompt and worked incredibly well with other vendors and our entire wedding party. We honestly never saw him throughout the entire wedding and reception but when we saw the pictures, we were so excited with what he captured! The best part is just a few days later, he had several “preview” pictures he sent over for us! Fitz was a great choice for us and we’d recommend him hands-down to any couple looking for a personalized experience with a professional memory- maker!

Fitz was great through and through. From the beginning with the inquiries, he was super responsive, professional, and clearly had personality. We found Fitz on Google and we were enthralled by the wedding photos on his website. They didn't look like your typical over exposed wedding photos. They were dramatic. They captured real moments. His use of lighting and his color profiles spoke volumes to us so we decided to reach out. Not long after, we booked him as well as his second shooter and they did not disappoint. Fitz was super responsive with all our questions and requests. AND he was on time the day of the wedding. There is no lag with Fitz. When he was shooting during the ceremony, we could hardly notice him and when it came time for formals, he works quickly and has a strong artistic vision. We don't feel like we know what we're doing when it comes to posing for photos but Fitz coaches really well and builds rapport while doing so. A few days after the wedding, we received several photos to sneak a peak and we were blown away. Some of the people that we showed the photos to asked for links to Fitz's website. We couldn't wait to see the rest. When we received and reviewed the full collection, we felt like we were able to relive the day again through the lens of a dramatic photo journalist. We are grateful to have had Fitz shoot our wedding. He is an extremely talented man and we wouldn't change our decision if we were to do it all over again.

Fitz and his team are true professionals. We were very nervous about having a feeling of posed photography that feels “samesy”, while also just felt nervous about being in front of a camera. Fitz puts you at ease from the first meeting and makes being in front of a camera the most normal of experiences. It truly felt like hanging out with a good friend and on top of that you end up with photos like no other. His use of lighting and color create moments that pop off the page and captured moments like a true photojournalist. Looking for moments naturally much more than forcing uncomfortable poses. Fitz was an absolute pleasure to have at our wedding. He took some awesome pictures of the venue before we even knew he had arrived and then some really creative shots of the girls getting ready. He suggested an off site location for our first look and then very quickly found a desert background to take family photos at, which really added to the variety in our pictures. We really appreciated his professionalism and creativity throughout the day. He caught all the best moments and emotions without ever being in the way and worked very quickly to get all the most important shots. He really captured the love we felt so strongly at our wedding. We had so many guests comment on how great our photographer was at the wedding, and certainly once seeing some of our photographs since the wedding. We would chose Fitz again in a heartbeat!

Our wedding was more relaxed in that there was not being a wedding party or rehearsal, but we had some epic scenery in Palm Springs. I didn't realize how fast the sun would disappear behind the mountain, especially in December. Actually, you don't realize how fast time slips by for the entire day of the wedding until it starts happening. Fitz knows how to anticipate a moment and seems so relaxed while a million things are happening. Even though he works fast, he does not compromise spontaneous creative decisions. I wanted to go with Fitz based on his portfolio alone- embracing dark tones, using color well, but he has a fun sense of humor that I don't think you'll find with every shooter. I was nervous as hell the day of the wedding, but the photos didn't show much of it at all. I never want to get married again, but a part of me wants to relive the fun moments of first look, cocktail hour, and our entrance. Luckily, our photos are stellar and really tell our story well. We're super happy we went with Fitz, he's a smart choice.

Fitz is a good friend of mine. He shot my best friend's wedding a few years ago. I believe that was his first wedding shoot. He was a natural born wedding photographer because of his esthetics, attention to detail and excellent technical skills. He did such magnificent work that they were published in a magazine. Ever since then he has grown to become one of the best wedding photographers in LA. It was my turn to get married last weekend, and honored to have him shoot our Malibu beach wedding. Fitz captured everything beautifully. He was in constant motion to find all of the right angles and different lighting. The colors were soft and flattering, the compositions were balanced and dynamic. Everything was recorded from our special day, from tears to laughter, putting on my shoes to walking to my car, the cake, the moon, the beach, the wedding party from close and from far... everything and beyond. I'm ecstatic that this day turned out perfectly and the pictures are proof. I highly recommend Fitz!

Fitz was wonderful. So many wedding photographers do the classic "washed-out" look with super-bright, sanitized images. We knew this wasn't for us, so we had a great feeling about Fitz immediately upon viewing his Knot profile; it was clear he wasn't afraid to use contrast and had a great, artistic sense of the different moods of a wedding. It was also evident that Fitz and his team had a great eye for capturing precious candid moments - which was a must for my wife and me. Fitz delivered an awesome album for both our engagement shoot and our wedding. It really made us feel like rockstars. Personally, Fitz is a rock-solid, calming presence. He is sharp and methodical in his approach. Upon meeting him it was immediately obvious he had the experience to know what he was doing. In a process where there are so many potential things to worry about, we knew we would never have to worry about him. We also worked with Fitz's colleague Will, who was similarly professional and capable with a clear vision for the photos he was taking. It's clear to us that Fitz picks his second shooters very carefully. We cannot recommend these guys enough if you want a beautiful and stress-free wedding photography experience.

Miracle worker is how I would describe Fitz's creativity with a camera. When we initially met with him, we made it abundantly clear that we were not photogenic at all. Historically, we both never come out just right in a photograph, or only one of us does after 20 attempts. Sadly, our home has only one photo of us from a distance. From our engagement photos to our wedding photos, Fitz captured perfect backdrops, angles, and the right smiles. We are truly joyful that we picked the right photographer for our big day. We can finally print photos of us together and proudly display them in our home and office.

We had an great time with Fitz. He was masterful at keeping things moving while making us feel relaxed and at ease. Fitz was awesome! We did our engagement and wedding photos with him. Both times he made us feel/look like high fashion models. Our pictures came out better than we imagined. My husband and I don't think of ourselves as "naturally photogenic" in front of the camera, but Fitz was great with direction and making it all appear so effortless in the photographs. I am having trouble putting in to words how grateful I am for Fitz and his day-of assistant, Seiichi. I chose Fitz for our wedding because his photos were cinematic yet editorial. They seemed real and they conveyed so much emotion, while not appearing over edited or staged. On the day of, Fitz had been at our venue over an hour before I even arrived, scoping locations, soaking up the atmosphere and enjoying the garden. He was calm, easy going, and seemed to have the perfect balance of planned and off the cuff shoot ideas. His attitude was such that I understood how seriously he took his role there, but I was also very grateful for how relaxed he was, communicating his vision while encouraging my husband and myself to be ourselves and to enjoy the day rather than stress over it. I can only describe Fitz and Seiichi as photographer ninjas. They were everywhere and nowhere all at once. Fitz is also a true artist. He doesn't have everything planned out, but has these moments of brilliance and you can tell he truly loves what he does. Many of our guests commented on how nice and fun Fitz and Seiichi were and how they seemed to be having a genuinely good time as they crafted artistic, meaningful, and fun shots. It was a magical day for us, and I cannot imagine it without Fitz. In the days following our wedding I've gotten a little nostalgic and kind of sad that it's over, but our photos brought me back to life. The day was a blur but we will have our photos forever and thanks to Fitz, the photos are STUNNING.

We hired Fitz to shoot our engagement photos while visiting LA and we could not be happier with the results. Simply put, the photos took our breath away. My fiance and I used the opportunity to shoot a beach session while we were in LA. We were visiting with our 7 month old son, who happened to be TEETHING pretty badly on the day of our shoot. Fitz was so great at directing us, that we completely got lost in the 2 or so hours we spent shooting and completely let loose and enjoyed the experience while a relative was driving around trying to find medicine for our son. Thats quite a talent. Fitz is excellent at what he does professionally, but an added bonus; he is also just a genuine and good guy. We hope to bring him to Mexico with us for our wedding!

We booked Fitz for our engagement photos, we're SO HAPPY that we did, because the photos turned out amazing. My husband and I took photos with Fitz in Malibu (beach and mountains) wearing the traditional Korean hanboks. Not only is Fitz a talented photographer, but he is also a great person to be around. It was immediately apparent that he genuinely cared about me, my fiance, and our overall vision. The day of our wedding Fitz was fun, encouraging, friendly, and above all CALMING. He had an ease and confidence that was easy for me to draw from and helped settle my nerves. As far as pricing is concerned; he is WORTH EVERY PENNY. I know there are many budget brides out there who are looking for places to cut expenses. I get it. I was one too. The one thing you DO NOT want to skimp on, is your memories. As many reviewers have stated Fitz works at capturing moments that speak volumes. Each photo was a beautiful moment of time that I will have forever. I can easily attest to the fact that I have the best quality wedding photos of anyone I know. In addition, Fitz also has a second shooter available that we booked for 4hrs instead of 2. Part of me wishes that I had gone for 6hrs. He also gives you a selection of images a few days after your wedding so you can see some right away. I was glued to my email inbox in anticipation and was not disappointed. Unlike some photographers, you can tell that Fitz loves his job, does it well, and is motivated to get your wedding album properly edited and available to you as soon as he can. This is a photographer that is EXACTLY as he seems which is a tremendous person and masterfully talented.

If you are currently planning your wedding and have anxiety over 100 different issues- MOST OF ALL - your pictures, Fitz is your man. My husband and I are very camera shy. We don't like being the center of attention and are not especially good at looking "natural" and effortlessly candid. Fitz took care of everything- was extremely easy going and our pictures were wonderful. They were just the right amount of intimate and playful, we really felt that he captured our personalities as well as great story telling details. We used Fitz for our engagement photos as well, which was helpful when the big day came as we were already familiar with his direction and work so it made us that much more comfortable, day of. Definitely recommend !

As a wedding planning company, Rock N' Events and the planners at Jenny Chang, expect to work with the best, most creative and innovative professionals. Working with Fitz was nothing short of that and the five-star experience! My team has been raving about Fitz since they first discovered him last year, but we haven't had the opportunity to collaborate until recently. One of our couples was coming to Los Angeles from Korea and to no surprise chose Fitz Carlile as their photographer for their engagement shoot. The couple had no idea what they wanted to do, and with the right guidance, we were able to lock down some inspirations to communicate with Fitz. To tell you how professional and flexible Fitz is can only mean so much until you experience it for yourself. He knew exactly what he was doing and how to direct them even when he was presented with the obstacle of a language barrier. First - The accolades are well deserved. Fitz and his team are AMAZING. This review is long overdue, but I had to make it right by leaving one for the wonderful experience we had working with Fitz, Irida and Seiichi. Fitz really helped us feel at ease and worked with us throughout the whole process. Irida's wonderful eye and experience in fashion photography made our family portraits fabulous. Our wedding was busy with little time to stop and pose once things got going but Irida and Seiichi were ON IT! They were able to capture all the beautiful moments that flew by for us. :) I also want to mention how great/versatile they are in different settings. Our evening wedding was in a historic building with dark wood panel walls, deep colors and low lighting... which, I think, can be a challenge. However their collective expertise in this kind of setting really made all of our pictures look rich, vivid, and just stunning. We were happy that they were able to capture the vibe of the venue as well. I highly recommend this amazing team. Thank you, Fitz!

My husband and I booked Fitz for both our engagement and wedding photos and we could not have been happier with our choice. He is such a professional and his work is absolutely stunning. I love how he plays with lights and shadows and how bold his colors are and on top of that, he is very easy to work with and makes you feel super comfortable . Unlike most wedding photographers who just snap a million photos (half of which have your eyes closed), Fitz takes the time to set up the perfect shot, giving you QUALITY over quantity. Loved loved loved everything he shot and he even sent us some photo sneaks the very next day after our wedding. His associate photographer, Irida, was so sweet and laid back and captured some incredible moments. She worked with the groomsmen earlier in the day and my husband even mentioned that they needed help getting their bow ties tied, and she immediately stepped in and helped them find someone at the hotel to tie them (completely outside of her job!). If you need a wedding photographer, I would highly recommend Fitz. and would give him and Irida 10 stars if I could. Fitz & Irida did an amazing job with our wedding! They stay clear of cheap gimmicks and instead hone in on those natural moments. They really understand light and shadow, and how to use depth of field to create stunning pieces of art! They're also great at reading your energy and figuring out how much input you need/want from them. They're very adaptable. And to top it off, super friendly! We agonized over picking the right photographer, but we couldn't be happier with the results!!

We chose Fitz because it was easy to see that the cinematic, storytelling style and absolute stunning treatment of the subjects was inherent in every shot. I had left finding a photographer a bit late, so Fitz himself was booked, but I was glad to have Stephen as my first and Ryanne as our second because it was clear they were both excellent too (and it didn't hurt that there was a discount, either).If you think planning a wedding is chaotic..well, nothing could prepare me for the insanity of the day. I had been chill up to the day and then my cool left me completely, it was stressful and upset, and I had actually thought many times that in spite of all the hard work I had done to schedule things right, that everything was falling apart around the photos and that Stephen and Ryanne had too little to work with to get anything out of it. The shots they managed to get in spite of the lighting challenges, and the people challenges were beyond even my initial expectations at booking. Incredible work and I just can't say enough good things. Whatever might go wrong at your wedding you won't have to worry about your photos.

While much of wedding preparation left me overwhelmed and exhausted, there was one thing that was a true joy during the planning process, and that was finding our dream photographer: Fitz Carlile. Fitz was the very first vendor I booked-- as soon as I saw his website, I knew he was "the one." His images are artistic, unique, and intimate. We chose to do an engagement session beforehand (highly recommend!!), and as a result, we got to see just how awesome Fitz is ahead of time and received an incredible batch of photos before our wedding day! Fitz couldn't be easier to work with-- he is warm, responsive, and such a talent. My husband and I can feel a little awkward in front of a camera, but Fitz made us feel so comfortable and captured our authentic selves. Wedding days go by in a flash, but photos last a lifetime and are worth the investment. I couldn't recommend Fitz highly enough and treasure our photos from him.

Fitz was an absolutely amazing photographer! I would without a doubt hire him again if I needed pictures taken! Him and his assistant worked so well together and were very descrete and weren’t in anyone’s way, while taking pictures the guests could see us perfectly and they still got such incredible shots. His creativity is beyond me and he is so professional as well as very personal and kind. He made sure the pictures were perfect and we were positioned correctly so the photos would be just right. His assistant was so sweet and made sure my hair and accessories were amazing in every photo. The way that Fitz colors photos is amazing, he works so hard to make sure the lighting and colors are so rich and deep. The substance of each individual picture is stunning. He is amazing and should win a million awards. I will definitely be referring people to him. He made it so intimate and wanted to convey all of our emotions as if no one was watching, but just capturing these amazing moments.
