He played a variety of music, as per our eclectic taste, and his prices were better than some of the other local entertainment vendors. I really appreciated that he let me (almost at the last minute) add on a sound system for the ceremony as well, since the system at our venue was sub-par. I had two friends sing at the ceremony, and the microphones he provided worked perfectly. Tommy was a terrific MC, and he had the crowd on their feet from the introductions, to the last song. They have both been in the business a long time, and they continue to do it because it's obvious they're doing something they love. I would HIGHLY recommend Five Star for any event where you expect your guests to have fun. Also, The photo montage was AMAZING, and you could tell George put a lot of outside time into making it look "just right". Call them now and ask if they're available for your date...you will NOT be disappointed.

When you have a reception filled with many age groups and nationalities it can be hard to please everyone. However, George was able to provide a variety of music that kept everyone happy and the party going. Throughout the entire pre-sales, planning, and post-sales process, Five Star exemplified true professionalism and courtesy helping guide all of our inquiries and accommodating all of our requests. George Awad was our principal point-of-contact during the planning process, and also served as the DJ for our event. He was exceptional in-terms of communication, and clearly laid out a plan for the evening's entertainment, and a transportation strategy to get Five Star and their equipment from NYC to Chicago seamlessly. Thomas Hoefel was our MC, and he was the perfect mix of charisma, energy, and charm appealing to all audience members, whether young or old. Tommy also added a very personal touch to the night with his MC style, delivery, and engaging personality. Phil was in charge of lights giving our room both an intimate and warm feel at times during cocktail hour, dinner, and speeches...but also turning things up a notch during dancing allowing our guests to see a visual spectacle filled with energy and adrenaline throughout music sets. Nick worked the room as our candid photographer helping to engage our guests with pictures, position them in the best angles, and ensure our room was consistently having fun. Nick added a special element circulating around to all guests making sure they felt appreciated, while also capturing them in the moment and giving then a little spotlight throughout the night showing their photos on the big screens. All in all, Five Star was absolutely the best choice for our Wedding and we hope more couples will make the same wise decision to book them. From a full sound system, to LED uplighting, to rotating light fixtures, to two projection screens, a candid photographer, video picture montages, and more...Five Star's setup was spectacular, and their performance elite. Our guests were on the dance floor since the first set began until the last seconds of the party that ended at midnight. Tommy, our MC, was a class act. These are true pros, and some of my guests even said to me "wish we had used them" for their recent events. I am looking forward to using them for all of our future events. They are the best of the best.

Although we did not give exact musical selections, it felt like we did because all the music was everything that we would have wanted to hear. The DJs are super skilled and really play to the crowd. Our MC was Vito and he was very warm and likable. The crowd really seemed to enjoy his presence. We also had a step and repeat. If you are considering this option, do not hesitate. You have to do it. Some of the best pictures of the night came from there. All of the guests were so comfortable taking very fun pictures. We are so grateful for the wonderful time we had at our wedding and all of the memories that we made. We can't thank you enough for providing the soundtrack of the best night of our lives.

From the beginning of the planning process he understood exactly what music we would like to hear and assured us we would not stop dancing. I can actually say thanks to George and Five Star DJ that I had an amazing time at my wedding! Our guests came upto us throughout the night saying how great the DJ was. At the end of the reception while the dance floor was still packed, my older brother asked, "can we keep them for one more hour?"

Personally I have Dj'd for companies when I was in college and from my experiences it's very rare to have the owner no only make appearances but stay for the enitre reception to make sure everything runs smoothly. The MC, DJ, and light tech made it all come together and the dance floor was pumping the entire night. Don't forget about the lighting it really does set the mood for the enitre night!! The planning process went smooth and he was always there to help us pick the right songs for the right moments. Danny did a great job at keeping our crowd up and entertained throughout the night. My family is from Jersey so most of us know how to get on the dance floor and have a great time, Danny was able to maintain that crowd. We danced all night, more than I was expecting since I was the bride. It was a blast. It was a good mix of music for our crowd and I was very pleased. They were on time and very professional. They even stayed a bit late because our Venue's DJ didn't come on time for their late night club crowd. I definitely recommend this vendor to any future Bride and Groom.

om our first meeting with George (DJ and owner), I was confident that he was listening to what we wanted for our wedding. He took the time to talk us through everything. He gave us the chance to customize what we wanted, but also guided us and used his professional expertise to create a party that our guests would enjoy. Considering that our wedding took place on a Sunday afternoon, I worried that we wouldn't get a good party atmosphere, but George really kept the party going. People were really enjoying themselves and dancing up a storm. The music played appealed to all of my guests, the old and the young. People are STILL talking about what a good time they had. We expressed our concern to George at 5 Star DJ Entertainment. George was very patient and helped put together a great play list that suited our guests. The right music combined with the sophisticated lighting techniques provided by 5 Star set the mood for our wedding night, where everyone was dancing. checked out a few other DJ companies but ended up choosing 5Star anyway. Why? Because when we met George, he was very friendly and accomodating as to what we wanted for the music and budget. He is a neighborhood guy and my husband asked around about him. The people my husband spoke to gave him high ratings. We chose a lot of the songs to play and they were not necessarily songs that are easy to dance to. We also gave George the ok to mix in some of his own choices as long as our songs were played. At the wedding, George mixed them perfectly. Everyone had a great time and loved the music. The MC got people up and dancing. I would definitely use 5Star again.

lam our other hall had. I called George and he was sympathetic and encouraging. He reassured me he was still coming to my wedding, despite the shortage in gas and Sandy aftermath. We also decided a few hours before the wedding to add some up lighting to the room to change the feel, and George said that was no problem and staff that in less than a day. I was also going back and forth with George to change our entrance song a little bit; with all the last minute running around I completely forgot to finalize it. Well during our entrance song he did it anyways and it was such a great surprise! My wedding was absolutely amazing! The music was fantastic and the lighting was gorgeous. I couldn't believe it was the same room when I walked in! The staff was professional and very friendly. I have a very diverse family and it can be hard to get them to dance, but 5 stars did it and did it amazingly! The MC was great, and DJ Eddie kept the party going all night! Thank you sooo much, we will forever be grateful!!

This is not an easy task considereing our families come from different backgrounds. My family is from Spain, and my fiance's family is American/Italian. George was so patient meeting with us and going over our song lists, as well as listening to every single song my brother had compiled on 2 CD's of some hard to find Spanish music. He was more than accomodating, and all of our guests had an amazing time. He played the perfect mix of all the different types of music we requested. Tommy the MC was wonderful as well -engaging, but not too pushy or over dramatic as I find some MC's can be. He was charismatic, fun, and on point all night long. I will definately book them again for any future events. My only regret is I had so much fun at my wedding I didn't get to thank them that night. George and Tommy are professional and do a great job answering questionings, reviewing details and offer advice on music selections. We also had Billy Lawrence do a set to incorporate some live music into the night! Our guests loved it and so did we! At the end of the night, they handed us two cd's, one with our wedding recap and the other with the candid shots from the night! it wouldn't matter. But I wanted to make sure the guests walked away and said, "THAT WAS A FUN WEDDING." I could not believe how many of my guests came up to me and said that the music, the lights - everything that was part of 5 Star's arsenal, made the party better than they ever could have imagine. Even people who admitted that they are normally bored by weddings, and don't normally dance or enjoy the usual wedding entertainment, found themselves up on the dance floor having a ball. In fact, I'll even admit that I'm not much of a dancer, and dancing in a wedding dress seemed like a torturous idea, but their music, mc-ing, and everything in between kept me up on my feet the entire night. The music was great, meeting every expectation and request we had for them. Even our wedding song, which was nearly impossible to find, was found and played for us for a magical moment. I don't think the dance floor had less than 90% of our guests on it at all times. We had people come up to us for days and weeks after, asking for 5-Stars information, because they couldn't believe how great they were. Their music is current, and their show in general is hip and there was no fear of anything out-dated or lame. I couldn't recommend them more. They are seriously worth every penny, and more!
