My husband and I got married on August 15th of this year, and upon meeting the owners, they seemed like really nice people. Kind and welcoming, willing to do anything to help but that couldn't be farther from the truth, I would describe them as "two faced". We got a contract from them and bought the whole package deal for $8500.00 dollars, that is fine for a place right on the lake on a beautiful piece of property. That wasn't the issue, the issue is all the little rules they like to add after they take your money. I have a big family that likes to have a couple drinks, not unusual for weddings and they are by no means "alcoholics", when they saw how much alcohol we ordered for an expected 75+ people they said "you have enough booze to supply the whole reservation" I take that to offense because I'm native and part of the Salish and Kootenai tribes, she was basically implying that the whole reservation are alcoholics. They had openly admitted that they were "Nazis" and honestly who would want to hear that from the venue owners, but they said that the DAY before my wedding so we couldn't really back out at that point. My other side of my family is Italian and we have a drink called the "Italian Shot" which is not a shot at all but a sipper, Linda said absolutely no shots which was not stated at all in the contract, for clarification, most of my guests were over the age of 50 so they weren't partiers or anything like that, we also weren't allowed to serve alcohol before the ceremony which is not a huge deal except for the fact that we paid for use of the venue until 10pm BUT they made us leave at 7:45 pm due to a storm that never happened and we stayed at the resort right down the street from them so we would know if a storm had come through, we stayed up playing cards until 2 in the morning and not even a gust of wind came through, but of course, they wouldn't refund us for the lost 2 hours. Alan, the owner was openly walking around with a gun on his side and making my guests uncomfortable, I'm a firm believer in the 2nd amendment but don't do it a wedding where you don't know anyone. Both owners were also drinking our alcohol and eating our food. Linda was supposedly sitting and guarding the women's cabin but somehow $1700 dollars went missing for our hairstylist/bartender. But that is the worst thing that they made us do is.....they have a bathroom on site, I used it when we first went out and looked at the place. On the day of the wedding, my friend who has bowel issues found out that the bathroom was locked down like chains all around it!! She had to run back to the resort just to use the toilet, BUT, I, the bride in a heavy expensive wedding dress had to use a freaking PORTA POTTY. Not a fancy one, just a regular Sweet Pea blue box that wasn't the cleaning. You can't fit more than one person in those things, so I had to figure out to use the restroom without making a mess out of my dress. Completely unacceptable!!!!!Their grass by the ceremony location was not cut and filthy with moisture and some spare dog crap from their dogs, the first thing after saying "I Do" we took pictures and the bottom of my dress got dirty to the point of embarrassment. I had to go around like that for the rest of the two hours we were aloud to stay. The owners will also degrade and belittle you if you disagree with anything they say, they called my 75 year uncle a "low IQ individual". I would avoid this place at all costs, it's such a shame that they have such a great piece of property. Linda was telling us that it might be the last year that they are doing weddings and honestly, I think it should be. There is another review very similar to mine that I think you should go read as well. Spend your money elsewhere for your special day.
