We worked with Flora Rae for our September 2025 wedding in Detroit and had such a great experience. I was a bit nervous about our florals as I didn’t have a specific vision, but Ni...
cole helped us create something gorgeous, timeless, and perfect for our space. She was super easy to work with, collaborative, and thoughtful about budget/reusability of pieces. Everything turned out even more beautiful than I imagined!
Nicole was amazing! She helped make planning (and re-planning) our covid wedding so easy. When we decided to change the reception location to our home 2.5 months out, she was over ...
the next day for a site visit and was prepared with a list of goals to accomplish. She was very thorough with everything from contracts to timeline to designs. She was also our florist and I cannot get over how beautiful all of our flowers and greenery were on the day of. All of our guests were amazed with how beautiful our backyard tent wedding turned out and many said it was just more beautiful than a traditional venue. Can’t recommend her enough!!
From the beginning, Nicole was on top of her game helping to plan our wedding. We spoke about what design details I was interested in and created a pinterest board, and from there ...
she put together a beautiful deck capturing exactly what I wanted. She was always very responsive to any questions/needs that arose during the planning process.
Nicole was recommended to me, so I didn't shop around much for a wedding planner but found her fees to be very reasonable.
Nicole also planned and implemented all the florals for my wedding as this is her new focus, and again she was able to capture and design a beautiful presentation.
Lastly, she worked so seamlessly to re-schedule and adjust our wedding plans when we had to downsize from 200 to 30 guests and change our date. I would highly recommend working with Nicole!
In the past four years Nicole has planned the wedding and floral arrangements for all three of my sons weddings. The first being her own to my oldest son, this was in the early st...
ages of her company Compose Events. The wedding was magical, it was like a three day fairy-tail on Mackinaw Island, on the ground of Woodbridge, with a view of the bridge as a back drop for the wedding. Although she was the bride she organized the flowers, food for the bridal party, rooms for guests on grounds were the ceremony took place. The day of the wedding she worked with the staff to make sure everything was perfect and the day was amazing. The next Marsh wedding was in Charlevoix September 2018 at Shanahans Barn. I would refer to this wedding as elegant, amazing and beautiful. Nicole worked more with the brides mother for the fine touches that mean so much. She thinks of things you just don’t think of on your own, like who is taking the grandparents home when they get tired. Although that may not seam important during the planning it become apparent as soon as dinner is over with a 90 year old dad. The final Marsh wedding was a few weeks ago on September 7th 2019, with only four months to plan it seamed impossible until we hired Nicole to do her future brother-in-laws wedding. The wedding was all outside at our lake house. I worried about everything, I was so nervous I was staying up at night, I told Nicole I needed her help and the bride and groom agreed. Once I hired her I started to relax, I no longer was envision Woodstock and started to think Glamorous and do able. It was more amazing than I would have imagined: The ceremony was in one location on the grounds, a simple walk across the road lead to tall tables and an oyster bar. The family style reception was held under the tent out by the lake it was glamorous, well planned and so amazing. From the fine detail of the day to the delicately place flowers in the brides bouquet I could not have asked for a more perfect day or a more perfect Daughter in law. Two of my friend have already hired Compose Events for 2020 weddings and floral arrangements.
If we could give more than 5 stars we would! We don't have any other way to describe our experience with Nicole as anything other than out of this world! She truly helped our visio...
n come to life. From beginning to end she was outstanding with communication and also helped answer any questions we had regardless of how small or petty it may have been! She made the whole wedding planning process so much more stress free. I really felt like I had nothing to worry about on our big day because Nicole was all over it. She knows so much about the business. She also did our florals which she nailed as well! All in all, I don't know what we would have done without her. Nicole is truly a class act and we are forever thankful for her being a part of our day! I HIGHLY recommend to any future bride!! You won't regret going with Compose Events!
We hired Nicole as a month-of coordinator and florist for our wedding. She was such a delight to work with from the go. She prompted thoughtful questions, paid close attention to d...
etail, and helped us play with different ideas for the big day. No disposables? No seating chart? No parking? - no matter the idea we proposed - her design process and ability to problem solve were both creative and dynamic! She was really put to the test when, an hour before the ceremony, a beautiful sunny day turned into torrential thunderstorms. Our wedding was outdoors and Nicole quickly sprang into action, moving decor, rearranging tables, coordinating transport of guests to the tent rather than the outdoor ceremony site, and communicating with us all the while. My husband and I agree she was definitely the most important person we hired for the wedding and can't imagine the day (or weeks leading up) without her. She allowed us to feel relaxed (even as it rained sideways) and enjoy the day/the people around us the day of! If you're hesitating...don't. She's worth it.
I am so thankful that we had Nicole during our Northern Michigan wedding planning process. We planned everything from out of state (literally - we didn't visit our venue before boo...
king, never did a tasting with a caterer, didn't see any decor in person, etc. etc.) and so we relied heavily on her recommendations and expertise, and she did not steer us wrong at any point. She provided great recommendations for vendors, kept us on track throughout the year, thought of things that I never would have, and generally was just really supportive and positive. Nicole also did our florals and did an amazing job - it was so convenient to keep all of the design elements collected under one person, and she was very responsive to all of the feedback we gave her, going through multiple rounds of mock-ups until we were all happy with the result. I also appreciated that she worked with us to come up with a custom planning package that fit our needs and budget. I'd highly recommend her for anyone getting married in the Northern Michigan or Detroit areas!
Nicole was the best decision I’ve ever made (besides deciding to marry my now husband). About 2 hours into our wedding day my mom turned to me and said “I don’t know what you are p...
aying your wedding planner but you should double it.” Nothing about our wedding was simple. From a non-wedding venue, catering our own food and some unique design choices - she handled everything with excitement and ease. The weeks leading up to and day of were absolutely flawless. I felt so calm. She handled every single detail. She also did all the design and all the floral and it turned out SO BEAUTIFUL. At one point during the reception the strap on my dress completely broke and within minutes I was back on the dance floor bc she just casually sewed it back together. Overall, Nicole was so amazing and I am so grateful for her to curating the best day of our lives. I have already recommended to her to anyone that will listen!
Nicole of Compose Events is amazing, kind and extremely talented. She and her team were absolutely wonderful and made our wedding perfect! Nicole worked with us to create a contrac...
t that was specific to our wants, so we could use her services exactly where we needed them most. She fit our style perfectly and created a cohesive, welcoming, elegant atmosphere. Nicole went above and beyond our expectations. The day of, she took care of everything from set up, vendor management, making sure our guests were enjoying themselves, and always checking in to make sure my husband and I were happy and enjoying ourselves. We received so many compliments about how perfect, beautiful, and fun our wedding was. We can’t thank or recommend her enough.
We enjoyed working with Nicole tremendously. We had a 200+ person black tie formal, Filipino-Chinese, New Year's Eve wedding, that we had to plan from out of state.

e things easy for Nicole. On top of being from out of state, she was able to work around our hectic travel and work schedules to guide and lead us through wedding planning. On top of that, we chose what is essentially an empty warehouse to have our wedding reception and Nicole was able to work with numerous vendors to bring in every single fork, napkin and large decoration items (amazing balloon drop, gorgeous donut wall, etc) to execute our dream wedding.
As weddings go, there are always hiccups along the way, which Nicole handled quickly with effortless grace and allowed us to continue to dance and drink the night away stress and worry free until well past 1 AM. We enjoyed working Compose Events so much that through our recommendation, one of my best friends is working with Nicole for her Northern Michigan wedding this summer!
I hired Nicole for partial planning and day-of Coordination. I found and booked all vendors, handled styling and design and used Nicole for any questions and onsite meetings and pr...
eparation, as I was getting married in Ann Arbor, but lived in Chicago. Nicole is very nice and clearly has a passion for wedding planning. However, I think my wedding was a tad out of her league/comfort zone. Our wedding was a black tie formal event for 250 people that included numerous vendors and moving parts. I think Nicole is a coordinator/planner more suited for smaller weddings with a less formal style/focus (whimsical/northern Michigan vibe). Nicole was helpful in attending meetings so that I didn't have to come into town. We had some issues with communication which Nicole always resolved and apologized for. The main issue was that I wanted someone on the day-of to be the go-to person to keep us on schedule and put out any fires. On the day of, Nicole focused more on vendor set up and coordination because she was worried about set up timing issues. The majority of our vendors had worked in that space before and were very familiar with the rules and timing schedule. I think vendors could have been handled by the event space staff and coordinator. I really wanted Nicole to be present for bridal party purposes. She instead was with Vendors the whole day before start time, and put a lot of pressure on my photographer and Maid of Honor to make sure that everyone was where they were supposed to be and on schedule. During the reception, we had some issues locating her to deal with late night snack and favor issues. This was odd considering she was on site and brought another person with her to help. Overall, the experience was not as I expected but Nicole was very helpful with confirming all of the vendors I booked. I think Nicole's working style is better suited for less formal weddings with a smaller guest count than 250.
Nicole is amazing! Not only was she my wedding planner but for my sister as well. She makes wedding planning look easy and had the most amazing personality as well. From picking ou...
r vendors to little design details, Nicole was the reason our wedding planning process was stress free. She is prompt with responses and organizes every last detail needed to ensure or day went perfect. She was always two steps ahead of me and had solutions for anything that came up. I highly recommend Nicole and compose events!
I cannot recommend Nicole enough. I had the most stress free wedding planning experience, which allowed me to truly enjoy just being engaged. Nicole was always available when I rea...
ched out with a million questions, and believe me I bombarded her regularly with a million questions. She always responded promptly and with the most helpful information. She is so knowledgeable and talented when it comes to planning. She listens to you and really tries to see your vision so that she can make it a reality (and that she does!). She is very “in” on the Michigan wedding scene and had already developed a working relationship with most of my other vendors from previous events. She recommended absolutely amazing vendors that did SUCH a beautiful job. She is very organized and on top of her stuff. She seriously helped with everything - design, stationary, booking vendors, site visits, picking out bridesmaid dresses, floral arrangements, day of activities - whatever you need she can do. She would not only send me deadlines as to when I needed to have certain tasks done, but would help me every step of the way to complete those tasks. She kept in contact with all of my vendors to ensure a seamless day. It honestly was the most perfect/flawless day and I cannot imagine it with Nicole as my planner. Cannot recommend her enough!
I had the privilege and joy of working with Nicole this past wedding season as her day of coordination assistant. I absolutely loved being a part of each experience and wedding she...
planned and designed, and gained so much by watching her interactions with her couples.
Nicole not only has beautiful concepts as a designer, she is able to translate those concepts and visions into a concrete plan through her ability to assemble top-notch vendor teams, provide an incredible amount of communicate and support to couples, and flawlessly execute event management and logistics on wedding day.
I saw firsthand how much of herself she pours into each of her couples, and how thrilled she was to see a wedding day come together just as she and a coupled imagined it would. Weddings are not without their challenges - and I watched Nicole handle everything from inclement weather to unexpected venue operations to managing several moving parts over the course of long days. Nicole is fun, easy-going, and lighthearted - a natural choice for couples who want a laid back yet extremely professional and skilled wedding planner. I can't recommend her enough, and would suggest couples reach out to Nicole as one of their decisions regarding their wedding planning!

anner, but over time I realized that having a professional who would be responsible for coordinating with all of our vendors and ensuring that things ran smoothly would be invaluable to my partner and me on our wedding day. From the very beginning, Nicole was dedicated, professional, and passionate! All of her communications were timely, clear, and comprehensive. She was so easy to work with and due to her attention to detail and extremely refined and organized processes, I felt a consistent level of support and trust in her. She went above and beyond to ensure that our needs and desires were understood and met. She helped me work through all of the details and elements I hadn't even thought of, until we had a thorough timeline and plan. Nicole stayed on top of all the moving pieces and executed the rehearsal and the entire wedding day beautifully! My husband and I were able to be present and enjoy quite literally every moment of our wedding day! I would add that as our floral designer, Nicole was very conscientious of our budget and took the time to get to know our aesthetic. All of my expectations were exceeded when I saw her gorgeous and intentional work throughout the venue. She just nailed in it every way! For anyone on the fence about hiring a coordinator, I can safely say it was some of the best money we spent and I would choose Nicole every time if I had it to do over!
Nicole played an integral part of our wedding design. Although she could not be there for our wedding on the day of, she was involved from start to finish in the planning process. ...
She was able to come up with a wedding design board that guided us when choosing our venue, vendors, and each aspect of the design. Our wedding was incredibly beautiful, and I owe that to Nicole! Another thing I appreciated was that Nicole thought of all of the right things to ask. She would help me ask the right questions of my vendors to make sure we had all of our ducks in a row. There were so many details and things that I would have never thought of on my own. This is why you hire a wedding planner! There is a reason why many of our guests said that our wedding was one of the best they had been to. Thanks again Nicole and Compose Events :-)

lly created exactly what I pictured. It was like stepping into my dreams. Every flower, every decoration, every centerpiece, every board was flawless. People were constantly coming up to me telling me it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to with the most gorgeous flowers they’ve ever seen, and I just gushed about how much I loved working with Nicole. She is truly an artist and I’m extremely lucky to have had her do my wedding.
People were telling me something at our wedding would go wrong and everything can’t be perfect. That was not the case for me. Everything was executed perfectly—the timing, the decorations, the people I got to work with, and the planning process. Nicole did everything for me and took all of the stress and weight off my shoulders so I could just tell you my vision and you handled the rest. I still can’t believe how incredibly perfect it was.
Nicole is kind, professional, very organized, accommodating, and creative.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Highly recommend.

anner before the wedding. She was quick and responsive to emails about any concerns we had. Nicole met with us for our rehearsal, coordinated our rehearsal, and took all decorations the day before the wedding so she could be ready to go for our wedding set up. The day of our wedding was a hot one and I, the Bride, needed to take a break from the day due to heat exhaustion. Nicole was responsive to managing vendors and being flexible with timelines. I cannot imagine what I would have done without her help and support. She truly made my wedding vision and day come together as seamlessly as possible given the extreme heat. I am so grateful for her!

ing day. She was always available for any questions and I felt like we had a very clear vision from the start. Nicole coordinated the rentals and day-of logistics, including set-up and tear down, for our brunch wedding. She also made our garland and wreath centerpieces and also coordinated our other flowers. I couldn't recommend her more highly!

t her, I felt like we had known each other forever. Her bright disposition and sincerity were completely transparent and I quickly realized how amazing she really is. Having her there for my month of coordination was seriously the absolute best decision we made for our wedding. She listened to me intently and remained patient with me as I flooded her email with ideas and plans. I appreciated so much her amazing attention to detail, her extreme work ethic and her ability to transform our venue into everything I dreamed of. She is literally the epitome of perfection. I learned so much from her, and I wholeheartedly admire her veracity and poise. It was so easy to trust her. From the very beginning she was organized, efficient, and completely focused. I had no doubt in my mind that she would pull together the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen and I am pleased to say I was not at all wrong. She completely delivered and then some! She was an excellent wedding coordinator but she’s an even better friend :) Nicole, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there with me and for creating the most stunning wedding I have ever seen in my life. Thank you so very much for everything. Love you doll!

Absolutely amazing. It was so easy to select Nicole when shopping for a Day-of coordinator. She impressed me right from the get-go. I felt like we were on the same page throughout ...
the process and I could not be happier with everything she did to make the wedding a success.
Everyone asked me throughout my wedding day how I was so calm-- it was an easy answer: NICOLE. Having her on my team meant that I had nothing to worry about. She handled every logistic on the days leading up, as well as the "big day", making sure that all the vendors knew when to show up and what needed to happen. That kind of trust is invaluable to me. I could not have been able to enjoy the day the way I did without her.
In addition to her top tier organizational skills and industry knowledge, Nicole has great taste. I have a very critical, artistic eye and a specific vision for how the venue would look and Nicole was right there with me. When I walked in, I so so totally in love with how it came together. She had to take some liberties with the venue setup/florals and I am thrilled with every choice she made. She gets it.
I am so glad that I was able to work with Nicole, she is a wedding ANGEL. Cannot recommend her enough to anyone.
