Bria was an absolute treat to work with and helped make our special day that much more wonderful with an equally parts delicious and stunning wedding cake. Her artistry and attention to detail is spectacular and we were beyond thrilled with the incredibly life-like sugar flowers and meticulous recreation the pattern of my wife's dress on the cake itself. I cannot imagine working with anyone else other than Flourish Cake Design for our wedding cake. Every flavor we tried was delicious. We ended up going with three flavors across our three tiers and every single one was a hit. The cake was also absolutely gorgeous. Bria incorporated the lace of my dress into the design of the cake which not only looked gorgeous, but incredibly accurate. She also decorated it with sugar flowers based on my bouquet. I still have people asking, "wait, those weren't real?!" because they looked so realistic. And, Bria was an absolute joy to work with. Her attention to detail, quick communication, and fun personality made the process easy, stress-free, and fun! I only wish I could do another cake tasting with her! We had a fantastic experience working with Bria and Flourish. At our tasting, Bria was so friendly and receptive to our ideas. She was really thoughtful about our design and helped incorporate elements from my wedding outfit and our floral decor, all while taking our budget into consideration. Wow, where to begin. Bria was one of my most favorite people to work with on my wedding team. When I unexpectedly showed up alone, she made me feel super comfortable and welcomed at her studio. I had the best time! As a baker myself, I’m quite particular when it comes to cakes. Personally, I don’t like most cakes. Period. I really didn’t expect much. But boy, I was surprised! Quite honestly, this was the best cake I have ever had. We decided on two flavors (lemon blueberry cake w/ passion fruit butter cream and fresh raspberries & chocolate cake w/ hazelnut praline buttercream, milk chocolate crunchies, and chocolate ganache). The detail to the flavor was outstanding. I truly couldn’t decide which one was my favorite (which says a lot because I am a chocolate person to the core!). Finally, the design was just amazing. I had no idea what I wanted, but with some guidance and reference photos, Bria designed the most beautiful piece for me. I was blown away by her creativity, and ability to put something perfect together based on such indecisiveness! And, how can I forget- the flowers on my cake are based on my wedding flowers. And they are completely made of sugar!!!!! Just incredible. All in all, Bria is a wonderful, understanding, patient, talented, and amazing person. I’d trust my life with her to create the most perfect cake again and again!

Taste and look were equally important to us when finding a wedding cake and Bria is an expert at both. We originally planned to have live florals on our cake but when we saw Bria's sugar flowers, we knew we'd go with that. Too many modern weddings try to get away from cake but we love cake and wanted it, and we're so glad we were able to celebrate with such a sweet treat.

Bria is the best in the business! We had an end-to-end awesome experience with her and her team with her biggest emphasis on thoughtfulness throughout the whole process. We started working with Flourish back in 2021 for our 2022 wedding and they made a very thoughtful pandemic to-go tasting box during the height of lockdown. It made a big difference for us couples contending with the uncertainties of a pandemic wedding. Flourish offers decorative frames/cloches for you to preserve your sugar flowers after the wedding—we just got ours and they’re a beautiful commemoration on such a special day. She also bakes you a fresh first anniversary cake, complimentary with your wedding. At every turn, Bria and her team were consummate professionals and we’ll always be grateful for having them be a big part of our wedding. Thanks Flourish!

Cake was one of the things that was highest on our priority list for the wedding. I am so glad we found Flourish as every step of working with Bria was a dream come true.  Our tasting was so much fun. Bria was so attentive and really helped us nail down our vision for the cake. We were so impressed when she mentioned that we wouldn't need to plan to save the top tier as they'll make us a mini anniversary cake (I can't wait!) We chose to try the chocolate, vanilla, banana, and pumpkin cakes with peanut butter and salted caramel buttercreams, dark chocolate peanut butter ganache, and vanilla cream cheese frostings. Every single option was fantastic. The cakes were moist and flavorful and the frostings were delicious without being too sweet. We had such a hard time settling on the right combination - until we tried the pumpkin and chocolate cakes together with the salted caramel buttercream and vanilla cream cheese. It was absolute perfection. We ended up going with those as alternating layers and dark chocolate crunchies and salted caramel drizzle as well. The add-ins really took it from a delicious piece of cake to a truly phenomenal dessert.  We were ready to book with Flourish pretty much as soon as we left but waited until we got the official proposal. The sketch of our cake was exactly what I had envisioned. Shortly before the wedding Bria even worked directly with our florist to make sure the sugar flowers would match the florals. On the day of our wedding I was so excited for the room reveal so we could see our cake. My jaw literally dropped and I could not stop staring at it until it was finally time for our cake cutting. The photos of us with our cake are some of our favorites.  Our guests couldn't believe it when we told them the flowers were sugar and not from the florist. They matched my bouquet perfectly. Everyone was so impressed with the taste as well, several people told us it was the best cake they'd ever had. The wedding was over a month ago and just last week my mom was still raving about how smooth and silky the frosting was.  Our cake was everything we could have asked for and more. I truly can't recommend Flourish and Bria enough.

We were paired with Bria through our wedding venue, and boy did we get lucky! We had so much fun working with Bria to design our dream wedding cake that we didn't even know we wanted. The tasting was such a blast, and we had so much fun seeing Bria's creativity as she sketched out our ideas and helped us bring everything to life. Bria from Flourish is AMAZING!! Not only did our cake look insanely good (sugar flowers are worth every penny!), but the cake and frostings were delicious as well! Flourish has the best designed cakes AND the best tasting cakes out of the 3 bakeries we looked at, and prices were comparable. Did I mention how great Bria is too? She's so warm and welcoming, I don't know where she finds the energy after her busy schedule! We got a shadow box for our sugar flowers, which is such a nice way to preserve the flowers, and we are so excited to get our anniversary tier. We can't recommend Flourish enough! :)

Just incredible! Not only was in gorgeous and the center of the reception but absolutely delicious. They also had a gluten free cake option that was my favorite for those family members with sensitivities. An absolute must for your wedding day!

Bria is AMAZING! From start to finish she was always happy to answer any questions I had, she was absolutely so kind and so professional. I found her with a simple google search and I thought her cakes looked beautiful, but I’ve had beautiful cakes before and the taste was horrible. We decided to order a sample from her and instantly we both were in love. Every flavor cake, filling, and frosting we tried was magnificent. The cake melts in your mouth because it’s so soft and moist. The fruit fillings were fresh. The buttercream icing tasted like she had been in the kitchen all morning whipping it up with her bare hands. We wanted to keep ordering samples so that we could taste the entire menu (and we are very plain vanilla kind of people). We also thought the pricing was a little high but I honestly feel like the money spent on our cake was the BEST money we spent on the whole wedding! I was so bummed that we didn’t get any cake at our wedding because guests were literally smuggling multiple slices out of the venue! If you are deciding between flourish cake design and another baker, please… choose flourish cake design. You won’t regret it!

Bria was an absolutely delight to work with! Extremely timely with all communication and very talented. The hardest part of the process was narrowing down which cake and frosting flavors we wanted because ALL of them were amazing. We can't wait for our anniversary to have more cake from Flourish Cake Design!!

We LOVED Bria and Flourish Cakes. Most wedding vendors are great at what they do, but there are some that go the extra mile to really stand out -- Bria is one of these. Her cakes are an artistic masterpiece, they taste delicious, and the level of customization that you can do is incredible. We got a 3-tier cake where each tier was a different cake that we got to custom build (for the same price!), and even though we majorly hyped up the cake before the wedding, it still exceeded expectations for most of our guests. Finally, Bria herself is a gem -- her passion for her craft shines through in every interaction, and we loved just hanging out with her! Highly highly recommended.

From the start of the process to the final product, I cannot say enough good things about Bria and Flourish Cake Design. We went to multiple tasting and not only was Flourish far and away the best tasting but the personal touches and organization Bria brought was what blew us away. She worked with us guiding us to the perfect design and was patient with us while we figured it out. Here is the best part, what she sketched for us on that day was the cake we got! I was so impressed with how beautiful it was and how amazing it tasted! Every guest left impressed and both my wife and I couldn't have been happier. Bria is a true artist in the medium of cake. She made the loveliest four tier wedding cake complete with a tier covered entirely in gold and silver leaf and adorned with four different kinds of sugar flowers. The sugar flowers in particular are absolutely incredible, I was so blown away with how detailed and true to life they are! And not only are her cakes beautiful, the flavors are to die for as well. We couldn't decide between 6-7 different flavors after doing two tastings, her cakes are THAT good. I highly recommend trying the lemon poppyseed cake with the black sesame buttercream, it blew my mind. We got compliments from all of our guests about how interesting the flavors were, and how delicious the entire cake was from top to bottom. There aren't enough stars in the world for Bria!

Bria is the absolute best! Her excitement and enthusiasm in helping us design our cake was so refreshing. We ended up creating 3 small cakes along with a side cake to accommodate a few gluten sensitive guests (5 flavor combinations in total, because, why not) and our guests raved about it. Beautifully executed to match what we envisioned and delicious! She provides a cake for your one year anniversary so you don’t have to eat a slice that has been frozen for a year and we’re already looking forward to it!

We recently used Flourish for our daughter's wedding. What an absolute treat it is to work with Bria. After our cake tasting, it was so hard to make a decision because every flavor she creates is beyond delicious. The wedding cake Bria designed was stunning! The most unique, beautiful cake ever. Bria is AMAZING! We had such a blast at our tasting back in 2019 and then to see the cake we designed FOREVER ago in person last weekend was a dream come true. I cried when I saw our cake with the flowers that were provided by our florist and placed on the cake by Bria. We received so many compliments about how the cake looked AND tasted! She was so helpful in choosing the size of the cake and how to organize the cake with our THREE different flavors :) Bria has got to be one of the nicest people I have met and I would recommend anyone getting married in Chicago to work with her!

Hire Flourish and Bria for the cake of your dreams! We had our tasting pre-COVID and were sold on the flavors, the moist cake with perfect texture, and the unbelievable talent and artistry of Bria’s sugar flowers. This is talent on a global scale!! We had to postpone and replan our wedding due to COVID, but Bria stayed in touch and worked with us to redesign our cake after we had to replan our wedding. I wish I knew how to share a photo here - our guests couldn’t believe the flowers on our cake weren’t real! They also raved about our cake...I had one guest remark that most wedding cakes are dry and flavorless and ours was the best they’d ever had. It was not only a showpiece for the night but something memorable for our guests. My husband and I are big on good food. Look no further if you want to wow your guests with a beautiful AND delicious cake.

We wanted our wedding cake to be a unique cake that no one had seen before. Bria was able to turn our vision of flowers, water painting, and a peptide chain molecule into a stunning reality. She took what we envisioned and enhanced it to be elegant and almost too perfect to eat! Her sugar flower work is insane and people thought that they were real. The cake itself was delicious and it is clear Bria not only knows how to decorate well but how to bake to perfection! We can't wait to book with her again for an anniversary cake next year!

We worked with Flourish to design a small cake for 10 guests at our recent wedding. We took full advantage of the cake tasting and stuffed ourselves with different combinations of cake flavors, buttercream fillings and other additions. Bria was tons of fun to work with and she helped guide us to an amazing cake featuring alternating layers of chocolate and almond cake with coffee buttercream between two layers and dark chocolate ganache with a caramel drizzle between the third. We also added their chocolate crunchies and all of our guests said they were the tastiest component of the entire cake. If you're considering working with Flourish, and no matter what other flavors you decide on, add in those chocolate crunchies! We picked a simple semi-naked white buttercream finish and loved the simple yet classic final design. We felt the price was more than fair, especially considering the quality of the final cake. Next to actually getting married, this cake was the biggest highlight of our entire wedding celebration.

We worked with Bria for our November 1st wedding & she was an absolute joy to work with from the very start! She radiates positivity and love & you can tell that love is added into her baking. She was honest and helpful and gave us exactly the cake we were hoping for our wedding — beautiful & delicious!!!

Bria was an absolute dream to work with! My husband and invited both of our mom's to join us for the tasting, which was a highlight of our wedding planning process! I didn't think I wanted to serve cake at our wedding (thought about serving donuts instead) but after our tasting I was SOLD. Each cake combo we tried was better than the next - it was so hard to select just three flavors to serve to our guests!! We received so many compliments on our cake and the design was everything I hoped and dreamed it would be. Bria also made an INCREDIBLE gingerbread card box for us, modeled after Miami University's Upham Hall (where my husband and I attended college). To say our guests were blown away would be an understatement. The detail she put into this gingerbread house was breathtaking. From the sugar glass windows, to the battery operated lights to illuminate both the inside and the mini lantern lights on the outside of the hall, to the bell tower at the top - every little detail was PERFECT. I didn’t know how much of a cake person I was until going into the studio with Bria and Flourish. I love sweets, always need dessert, so having a cake was a no brainer, I just never thought about how amazing that cake could be.I assumed chocolate or vanilla but tasting all the amazing variations Bria had, those assumptions were wrong, but, I should highlight the chocolate and vanilla Bria makes are also more delicious than any other chocolate or vanilla I’ve ever had.We did have a chocolate but we also had pumpkin and pumpkin caramel and every flavor was better than the next; the best part? The cake tasted just as fresh and amazing at the wedding as it did in the studio; it stayed SO fresh, so every guest was saying they wanted more.Even my husband who is not a sweets eater was impressed with how delicious it was.Bria is so talented in making the flavors taste amazing and the cake looking flawless but on top of it all, so fun to work with.It wasn’t easy for my mom to get in to the studio but Bria made it so welcoming and comfortable that it made the day and memory really special. She’s so fun to work with and open to everything, going through the cakes she made blew our minds. Choosing Flourish will be one of your easiest, most fun and delicious decisions of your wedding, enjoy!!

Bria created the wedding cake of our dreams without any of the stress! She is so creative and can take any vision and create a masterpiece. Outside of the cake looking beautiful it tasted amazing as well! We were so sad when the leftovers ran out and we cannot wait for our anniversary cake! We had the pleasure of working with Bria over the last few months. She not only made our wedding cake but she made cupcakes for my intimate bridal shower with my friends, she made a GORGEOUS cake for my wedding shower and then she made a SHOWSTOPPER for our wedding cake. Cake is something that's very important to me. I remember my childhood birthday parties and the joy that cake brought me when I saw it and took my first bite.... It was something that was more important to me than my wedding dress itself. Both of those three instants with seeing and eating her cakes brought me back to those same happy memories of my childhood. Flourish did an absolutely incredible job with our wedding. After a less than positive experience elsewhere in the city, we went to Flourish a bit later than we planned on the recommendation of our planner - and thank God we did! The flavors were amazing, unique, fun - everything we wanted in a cake. And as far as design, nothing was off limits! If we wanted it done, they could get it done. Absolutely incredible work. The only problem was at the end of the night, there was no cake left for us to take home! Our guests had completely devoured it which, in retrospect, is probably the best problem one could possibly have with a baker :)

Our cake was one of the most talked-about items from our wedding, such an amazing show-stopper - and I hardly ate dinner, but I think I had FOUR pieces of cake at the reception because it was just THAT good! We did layers of vanilla and chocolate cake with the passionfruit buttercream, and it was just heavenly. Bria was also really communicative and helped us incorporate some of the design elements from our wedding into the cake. I can't wait to get a mini anniversary cake - I can't recommend Flourish Cake Design enough!
