About this vendor
Flow Space is new to The Knot! However, we are already well known for our eclectic community of movers and events in the Gainesville area. We are nestled within the walls of a historic railroad station built in the late 1920s. Our original planked floorboards welcome you into a frame of aged heart-pine arches and our energized earth-bound brick walls inspire curiosity over the stories formulated throughout the last century. We happen to simply be the perfect vessel for any special event.
We premier a pro list of local vendors, caterers, photographers & videographers, lighting & sound artists, musicians, and alternative entertainment to piece together your dreamiest eclectic experience!

Our wedding situation was a little strange, and we couldn’t be happier with the role that Flowspace played in making it happen. We knew we wanted to get married in late March, but were in the process of moving from Gainesville to Western North Carolina when we settled on the date. To complicate the matter, we were moving to a rural house with no internet connection or cell service, so we needed to coordinate everything during our trips to town to buy groceries and visit the local library. Because of COVID-19, we planned for a small guest list—forty people attending in person with a large virtual attendance of folks who would’ve otherwise needed to travel to make it. Visiting with Humm in January to view the space and visualize the event was incredibly reassuring, as the space itself is roomy and clean with subdued colors, full of great textures and well-lit with wonderful antique wooden floors. Furthermore, Humm calmly walked us through the space and our plans thus far for the wedding, showed us their tech capabilities for our Zoom call and assured us that she would handle rentals for the event. We settled on renting the space for five hours, and she stayed connected with info about rentals and with our quotes, keeping in touch throughout the process for the next two months. Our services, for the most part, were provided by friends of ours: flowers as decoration, food by a caterer friend who sources from farms we’ve worked at, a pickup band of friends, a family friend to perform the ceremony. For each of these people who contributed, we gave them contact info for Flowspace, they coordinated with Humm to tour the venue on their own time and worked independently to ensure they had everything they needed leading up to the event. All we had to do was put them in touch, and we didn’t have to worry about anything. On the day of our wedding, all we had to do was show up. Humm simply took care of everything that came up; in fact, we don’t even know everything she’s done for us because she somehow magically made everything perfect. And when our niece broke a big lamp in the corner, she said it was a cathartic moment. Nobody but Humm can make a wedding happen and be happy when something gets broken. Needless to say, if the architecture alone isn’t enough to draw you in, the service will dazzle and impress.
