This is a wonderful, talented, and trustworthy florist to work with and I couldn't have been happier with the pricing as well as quality of work that was put in for my wedding day!

Even with the unexpected cost, they were still way more reasonable and affordable than any other florist I met with. for arrangements. We were looking to do a more "DIY" type of set up, so we sourced a lot of the containers and Phyllis provided the flowers/greenery. I came ready with some printed photos as a starting point for what I wanted the flowers to look like and, she took those ideas and improved up them. What I appreciated most about Phyllis is that she gave me honest feedback about the design - even if it meant the final quote would be less. She wants you to be happy and for the arrangements to look great; there's no "upselling" here that I felt with other florists we got quotes from. Phyllis was on site the day of to set everything up to ensure that it met our vision. My only comment is that Flowers by Emil, being a Bay Ridge flower shop primarily that also will create arrangements for special events and weddings, their vase/container/votive selection is a bit more limited than if you went with one of the "trendier" (and more expensive) florists in Brooklyn. If you're going for a more traditional look, this won't be a problem for your wedding and I anticipate you would be fine with their options, but if you're going a bit more avant garde you may have to source some of the containers yourself. Even with us sourcing the materials, the final cost was still much more affordable than if we went with one of the other vendors we looked at and I couldn't have been happier with the end result.

Carmine has such a passion for what he does! That is one man who truly found his perfect place in life. He saved me a ton of money by being completely honest, (which I appreciated thoroughly). All of the flowers I was interested in were Spring flowers, but Yianni and I were getting married in mid-July. Carmine told me what was impossible and what was possible but would cost me 3x as much as it would have during the Spring. MAN, was that helpful! Instead of smiling and taking as much money as he could from me, he sat my now-husband and I down, and went through book after book, and idea after idea, until we came up with not only my favorite flower colors, (yellow and orange) but also the correct flowers for the season and a price that was so reasonable, I asked him to go over the contract with me no less than three times, while wondering where the loophole was. THERE WAS NO LOOPHOLE! :) A few months later, when Yianni and I returned to ask about centerpieces for our tables, Carmine once again broke out the books, the advice and he gave us an incredible price. All in all, I have to say that EVERYONE who works at Flowers By Emil is not only wholly capable, reliable and friendly, but they all seem to love what they do, are beyond patient with their customers, and they give the BEST deals they possibly can. g because I know nothing about flowers or how they should be arranged. But with the help of Christine and Carmine we were able to create a unique and gorgeous arrangement. Carmine explained to us which flowers would be in bloom at the time of our wedding so we worked with only those flowers. Carmine was so patient with us as we mixed and matched and different flowers. It ended up being such a fun process in the end. All of our guests and family were awed when the saw the final arrangement and some guests even ended up taking entire arrangements home with them! Flowers By Emil is the best option for those who want exceptional value without having to break the bank.

250 adults, 24 tables total. We went to Flowers by Emil on a recommendation from a friend who had used this vendor for her own wedding. I sought this friend's advice for budget purposes- I was planning my wedding on a budget and I knew she had as well. We had gone to one other florist, with a reputation and work we were very familiar with (they were excellent) who provided us with a quote that was at least $500 more than what Flowers by Emil gave us. Once we walked in the door to FBE, we were greeted by Phyllis and knew immediately that we were in great hands. We had that feeling you have when you meet a vendor and know from that moment that was the vendor you were going to select. In the first meeting, Phyllis spent 2 hours with us, crafted me a bouquet, and gave us an AMAZING quote. She was always available by phone and email, and was extremely accomodating with payment plans and due dates. They absolutely worked within our budget and then some - Phyllis gave us all of our boutonnieres and corsages for free and discounted our centerpieces. I ended up purchasing all my candles online as Phyllis advised that it would probably be cheaper to do so than to use the florist's for the number of candles I wanted. This was a SLIGHT hassle, but I probably did save money - I had 6-8 candles on each table, mostly tealights, two tall candles. The final product was absolutely gorgeous. Delivery and set-up was prompt and painless. We had low center pieces of white hydrangeas and peach roses; the bridesmaid's bouquets were antique hydrangeas, peach roses and some purple flower - my bouquet was a grander version of this; the church pews were lined with white branches and baby's breath; and then, at the last minute (less than 24 hrs. before after we had a huge snow storm) I asked them to provide a big bag of rose petals to throw at my husband and I after we exited the church, and they did, at no charge and without a complaint. To say that we got great value for the price we paid almost degrades the quality of their work- this is an excellent florist and probably should charge more money than what they do. There is not one person who has not complimented me about how the flowers looked - and lasted on a cold winter day. I would recommend Flowers by Emil to every bride in Brookly and Queens, and I would abosolutely use them again. Beautiful, dependable work.

what I wanted and she made a mock up on the spot. Not only that she gave me a bouquet of flowers to take home. On my wedding day, the flowers were superb. The bridal party could not believe how fresh and beautiful they were. My centerpieces were gorgeous to the point where my guests were fighting for them at the end of the night. I highly highly recommend.

and by the end of the evening the grooms' boutonnier was dead...as if someone stepped on it a few times and stuck it on him. 2 days before the wedding I went in to pay the balance and give him the centerpiece boxes we made and they said our order was cancelled. Apparently when they called to confirm the order, someone told them to cancel the order. Obviously, we were stressed out (at the same time I'm on the phone with Dominique from Ocean Place). The shop managed to pull a quick order for us. Lucky for us it wasn't a complicated order and the flowers were obtainable. The flowers were perfect.

actually showed me different kinds of flowers during our first meeting to help give me ideas, and he sent me home with flowers every time I went to the shop. He is so accommodating, and it's clear he's not trying to overcharge and screw you over with pricing at all. His prices were significantly lower than other florists I visited, and the results were AMAZING. My bouquet and the bridesmaids' bouquets were all gorgeous and just the way I pictured them during our discussions. He made me a sample centerpiece months before the wedding, and the final product came out better than I remembered. So many people took pictures of the flowers at my wedding and complimented me on them all night. The shop is very no frills, but Carmine knows what he's doing, and he does a great job. Highly, highly recommend!
