We got our wedding cake from Fluffy Thoughts and it was perfect! We received exactly what we wanted, a 3 tiered confetti cake with plan, smooth, buttercream frosting, and red velvet and chocolate sheet cakes. All of the flavors were delicious. They delivered the cake on time and I had my florist put live flowers on the tiered cake while she was decorating. Fluffy Thoughts' prices were also comparable if not slightly cheaper than the other bakeries in the area. While deciding on a bakery and planning the wedding they were always very responsive by phone and email. We received a tasting box of cakes which made it easy to choose flavors. Everything about working with Fluffy Thoughts was professional and just what you want when getting a cake for your wedding!

We had a good experience with Fluffy thoughts. The selection of flavors is what makes them one of the top players in the DC area. We had 3 flavors for our 4 tier cake. During the design process, I decided to only get a plain cake with a dusty rose color for the base. My mother who is a wedding cake baker would add specially made sugar flowers from Sri Lanka that were being flown here. Unfortunately, the cake came in with cracks in the bottom of all 4 layers (I've attached one pic with black markers to show the cracks - ignore the top part where my mom was starting to place the flowers and I asked her to remove them so I could take pics first). I believe those cracks to be part of traveling the bumpy roads here - but my expectation is once it is delivered that there is someone to cross check and make sure these issues were smoothed out - literally. Thankfully my mom was already there with her tools to smooth out all layers. The cake itself - was AMAZING.

So happy with our wedding cake! Not only do they have such fun / unique flavors (we went with Cookie Monster and Candy Bar Crunch) that everyone enjoyed, but they worked with us to draft different design choices and prices! Amazing team!

Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how delicious our Coffee in the Morning cake was! Fluffy Thoughts was super friendly and responsive throughout the process. We couldn’t have asked for a better cake!

Our cake was delicious (we did the passionfruit, coffee, strawberry, and red velvet flavors). Additionally, it looked beautiful and the bakery was super easy to work with. Wouldn't have changed a thing!

Fluffy Thoughts went above and beyond to make a delicious, beautiful, playful cake for our wedding! They were so creative with the design and were extremely easy to work with. We did a 4 tier cake with stenciling, a sugar flower cascade, and a fun topper (handmade from sugar- a bride and groom and baby bear). The sugar flowers were absolutely exquisite! They looked like real flowers and they matched our actual florals almost exactly. The flavor was carrot cake with buttercream frosting. People went nuts over it (pun intended)! Some of the best wedding cake I’ve ever had. We just had to let people know there were nuts for those with allergies. We thought it was delicious and enjoyed all the leftover cake too! We highly recommend them!

The cake was incredible and absolutely beautiful. Like incredibly beautiful, my absolute dream cake. It was SO GOOD. We got the flavor with lemon and raspberry which was perfect for a summer wedding. It was hard picking a flavor though because they were all so good. However, getting to the cake was a little rough. The people answering emails seemed less than informed about cost, pricing, etc. I was quoted a price that was hundreds of dollars different than what it ended up, including a wrong delivery fee price. Luckily, the owner, Lara, did come down a bit on the price because of it and honored the original quoted delivery fee- which was excellent and I appreciated. I would have preferred not doing everything via text and keeping it to email, that's personal preference. If you want a gorgeous, show stopper and delish cake- go with Fluffy thoughts! If you don't really care about your cake, I might go elsewhere. The cake was important to me and they delivered.

Delicious cake and very easy vendor to work with! We changed our cake design twice and they were easily able to accommodate. Our flavor was lemon tart and it was delicious!

I must have tried a dozen different bakeries before I found something I liked. Our white cake with cream cheese, raspberry jam, and lemon curd layers was so delicious—guests devoured it. Fluffy Thoughts was amazing and so easy to work with. The owner was very flexible on finalizing details for our wedding cake. too, which is such a relief when you're juggling so many different vendors. Couldn't be happier with our experience.

Their strawberry lemonade cake was a huge hit with my guests. So delicious and it looks gorgeous!

Fluffy Thoughts was part of our venue's contract and I am so glad they were. During our consultation call with Lara she came up with a sketch the cake we were describing and nailed it. This was probably the least stressful part of the planning cause it took one phone call and we were pretty much all set! Cake was delivered on time and looked amazing. BONUS - everyone actually ate and enjoyed the cake!!! Most wedding cakes are dry and tasteless, but Everyone commented how they actually loved the cake!

If someone had asked me prior to today if I recommended Fluffy Thoughts, I would have said yes in a heartbeat as they did our wedding and grooms cake, birthday and holiday cakes, and holiday pies over several years. After today - absolutely not! Previous loyalty means nothing. They have zero customer service now and will not give you the time of day at the slightest miscommunication. In my case regarding a simple cake order, their emails were going to my spam and I asked for a call back instead. When I did not receive it, I called the next day and instead of apologizing for a simple miscommunication and offering call back times, they doubled down with an attitude; were extremely condescending and said we were rude because we expressed frustration at the lack of a call back; made it seem like a favor that they even bothered to speak with me; and then hung up and ignored my calls! Hanging up because you don't want to deal with a customer's issue is the definition of rude! This is how a long time customer that gave 6+ years, referrals, and several thousands of dollars of business gets treated. This is absolutely not the way to run a business regardless of how busy you may be.

We did our initial taste test with Fluffy thoughts in August 2021 and let them know our wedding was not until October 2022. They scheduled our tasting for pick up and asked that we reach back out when we are ready to speak to the owner to finalize our design. I followed up with an email indicating that I was ready to speak about the design and someone responded to my email asking me to text the owner. It took several weeks of coordination and phone tag to finally set up our meeting. When it came time to meet with the owner she never called, I had to call her. When I finally spoke to her she was not familiar with my wedding or any of the details (photos, wedding colors, quantity) that I had previously sent to their customer service email. She said she would follow up after our call with a contract and the dimensions I needed for the cake stand. She did not follow up so I sent another email. I never received a response so I sent two additional emails and I followed up with a phone call. The lady who answered the phone was impatient and told me my wedding was not until October and that the owner would follow up. They had also previously told me that 3/6 spots available for on my wedding date were already filled. I have lost all confidence that a contract will be coming and now need to find another vendor.

We agonized for weeks over our cake vendor for our wedding as many options were either closed because of COVID or way overpriced. We wanted something unique but not overstated and Fluffy Thoughts went above and beyond our expectations. Their flavors were delicious and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend them!

We LOVED our cake! They were able to take our original design inspiration and make it even better! Super flexible to work with and made the cake one of the highlights of the reception! such delicious flavors!!

Caterer recommended Fluffy Thoughts. Our daughter wanted a simple, elegant cake for her wedding. Had to postpone wedding for a year and a half because of the pandemic, but it finally happened on November 6, 2021. So much time elapsed between tasting in March 2020 and the wedding in 2021 that my daughter almost forgot what she selected. The cake was just what we wanted. Guests raved about the cake and how yummy it was, which is not usually the case with typical wedding cakes. Thank you so much for this lovely and delicious cake.

Fluffy Thought's cakes are not just stunning but they are absolutely delicious! We decided on two flavors (which was quite difficult to do) and knew we had to order almost double our guest count because everyone would want seconds! We know have a go to cake shop for all special occasions!

Fluffy Thoughts is the best! We had such a great experience working with Lara and her team at Fluffy Thoughts. The tasting was definitely a highlight of our wedding planning experience (so much fun!), and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. The cake was gorgeous, and we got rave reviews from guests about how great it tasted. Also great that we were able to incorporate three different flavors so we had variety!

My husband and I came to Fluffy Thoughts hoping for something delicious, and man did they deliver! Our caterer provided dessert to guests (already included in the price of each plate) and we were on a budget so we couldn't afford to give everyone dessert and cake. They were able to work with us so that we got the cake of our dreams. After choosing the flavor - which was super hard since they are all really tasty - we showed them a picture of a cake design we liked online. They worked with us to recreate it when other bakers would not. Since we couldn't feed cake to all the 100+ wedding guests, they were able to recreate most of our cake out of foam and covered it in fondant. The parts that were cake were beyond delicious. We were even able to bring home the top tier! The final product looked exactly as it did in the online picture. The whole team at Fluffy Thoughts was great to work with - communicative, professional, and really collaborative.

Our wedding cake was AMAZING!! I knew from the taste test that we had made the right choice. The design I picked out looked stunning and the cake was fresh and delicious. I got endless compliments on the cake and actually plan to order a small one in a few months to enjoy with my husband again!

After trying a few bakeries in the area, we chose Fluffy Thoughts for our wedding cake. Our tasting was delicious and the cake artist sketched up a beautiful design that we ended up using exactly for our wedding day. When we made a request to add extra jam to the cake layer, they incorporated it. The cake was absolutely delicious on our wedding day. I definitely caught my nephew sneaking one piece of each flavor and eating both. It was all he could talk about for an hour.

We used Fluffy Thoughts to create cookie favors for our wedding and working with them was a dream! From first consultation to delivery Lara and team were so responsive and easy to work with. Lara at Fluffy Thoughts is an incredibly talented artist. Her designs are truly a work of art. We were beyond thrilled with our wedding cake from Fluffy Thoughts. When meeting with Lara, we showed her a few photos of what we imagined, and talked through a design. On the spot, she drew a couple of samples. She immediately took what I pictured and put it on paper. At the tasting, we got huge portions of cake to sample. My parents and sister came with us, and we all got more than enough – we could barely even finish the samples! They definitely did not skimp on the tasting. The actual cake came out looking exactly how she drew it at our meeting and how I imagined! I also asked her to include a fancy, gold “R” initial on the cake, last minute, with no other direction. It came out absolutely gorgeous! We got so many compliments on not only how beautiful the cake was, but on the taste as well. I have been to so many weddings where the cake was just okay, and got left uneaten. Our guests ate it up! We chose a white cake with layers of raspberry and chocolate ganache. It was to die for! The other amazing thing about Fluffy Thoughts, is that they will give you a small top tier of your wedding cake, at no cost, on your one year anniversary, so you don’t have to worry about saving the top tier from the wedding. Your guests will thank you for this, as there is more to go around. If you live in the NOVA/D.C./MD area, don’t bother looking elsewhere for a wedding cake, because you will be disappointed. Fluffy Thoughts is the best! I can’t wait for another event, so we can order another cake from them! My family is excited to have a new bakery to go to for all of our dessert needs.

It is hard to know where to begin! We used fluffy thoughts cakes for our wedding cake and grooms cake, and they were both the two most beautiful and delicious cakes of all time (and I don’t even think I am biased!) When we scheduled a tasting, Lara helped us design our wedding cake. We showed her some things we liked, and she got out a piece of paper and drew a cake based on the tidbits we had put together from a variety of different cakes. She turned it around, and immediately we just said “yes, that’s it!” She listened to what we were looking for, and made it unique to us, even as a traditional cake. The real thing was even more beautiful, with unbelievable sugar flowers that had guests stunned that they were even humanly possible to make of sugar. Now to the grooms cake. I had this crazy idea- I wanted my now husband to be surfing, but also playing golf. I wanted to have our four pets incorporated. In my head, I didn’t even think this cake was possible, but hoped they could pull from my crazy and make something that would wow him. I can’t even tell you how much they blew our minds with this cake. They created a masterpiece of Chris riding a wave on a surfboard, while swinging a golf club, with a cat on the back of the surfboard with him, two dogs in the water, and another cat on the beach. It was INCREDIBLE. They used pictures of each pet to make their little figurines really look like them. It is hard to say whether the wedding cake or grooms cake was a bigger hit at our wedding – we were blown away by both. Every idea we had was 10X better with their expertise. Fluffy thoughts was amazing to work with, their cakes are delicious, they have unique flavors, and unmatched skill. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Stay away! The cake arrived late with no communication. This wouldn't have upset me if it wasn't for the bigger problem... which is that it was ALL WRONG! I had provided an image and asked them if they could make the cake exactly. They said yes. I have seen cakes like mine on Fluffy Thoughts instagram so unless they're lying about their skills, I have no idea how this turned into such a disaster. I was EMBARRASSED by my cake. It looked terrible. I didn't want any pictures taken of it and won't let it into my wedding album. I understand that for Fluffy Thoughts my wedding was just another day... but for me, it was everything. Future brides: trust me, stay away!

Fluffy Thoughts made a beautiful and delicious cake for our wedding! We also did a dessert buffet with them that people are still raving about. We are already looking forward to our anniversary cake 😊 I would definitely recommend!

We used Fluffy Thoughts for our wedding cake, and right from the beginning, we were thrilled with the experience! We had a personalized consultation where the baker sat down with us to discuss our vision for the wedding, we looked at pictures of previous wedding cakes they had done, and then she started sketching our dream cake right in front of us! Then when it came time to test, my God, the cake was DELICIOUS! Moist and flavorful down to the last bite! We ended up choosing a different combination than what was originally put in front of us, and they were completely okay with that! On the day of, the cake was beautiful! Exactly as we imagined it! We did have sheet cakes to supplement our cake because of the size of our wedding and some guests did say that the sheet cake tasted a little different than the cake on display during the reception, but nothing negative, just different! We LOVED our piece and were thrilled with the outcome! AND we get a small version on our one year anniversary! :) Loved Fluffy Thoughts!

From the moment we walked in for our tasting to the day of my daughters and son-In-laws wedding I knew we had chosen the right place to make their wedding cake! The tasting was amazing and we loved every bite but the Italian Wedding cream frosting is to die for. My husband could not make the tasting and Lara was kind enough to send us home with a tasting for him! When I called back Sunday to be able to send a tasting to Andrews parents in NC - again they took care of us! Lara (the owner) Designed our cake with a hand sketch right in front of us and the beginning of our dream wedding cake started! We chose a four tier cake and three flavors - vanilla vanilla, cookie dough and cookies and cream! They were unbelievable and the cake was so moist! Everyone loved it and we enjoyed leftovers for days after. When I saw the cake at Shadow Creek I was in awe and amazed! It was stunning. Thank you Lara and Fluffy Thoughts for making the best wedding cake possible!

Lara was so easy to work with! She understood the design we were going for for our wedding cake and worked with us on recommendations that would fit our budget. It came out beautifully and tasted even better!

I took a relatively rough idea of what I wanted in a wedding cake and gave it to Fluffy Thoughts, and they executed my vision PERFECTLY! On top of that, I had dozens of wedding guests tell me that it was the best wedding cake that they'd ever tasted, and they especially loved that I got a Funfetti flavor! It was unique and fun, and made our wedding all the more special!

Fluffy Thoughts was one of our options for cake through our venue at the Westin Georgetown. We ordered a three tier wedding cake -- two of the cookie dough and one of the candy bar crunch -- and it was absolutely delicious. It was also very pretty, with simple buttercream piping and silk flowers we had given them to add. I am knocking off one star because communication was a little difficult sometimes (I had called or emailed a few times and not gotten a response), but on the day of, the cake was delivered on time and everything went off perfectly. I would definitely recommend them.

Thank you so much! This was the best cake we and our guests had ever seen - DELICIOUS AND GORGEOUS! We wanted something a little different and did Fluffy thoughts deliver! People were circling it for hours before the cake cutting wondering if it was real and then devoured every slice! The staff was also amazing and Laura was super kind and responsive to us! She prepared some gluten free cupcakes for our guests with a gluten allergy and an amazing bday cake for a guest as well. We could not be happier!!

From the tasting to the actual wedding day the service was amazing. Even a month after our wedding day, my husband and i still talk about how great the cake was and how we now wish we would have ordered the anniversary cake.

Our cake was the second most important thing for us (after saying I do!) and Fluffy Thoughts gave us exactly what we wanted and tasted AMAZING. We had gone to one other bakery for a tasting before coming here, and it was night and day. Fluffy Thoughts cakes are just the right amount of sweet, super light, and very creative with the flavors and fillings. We are also huge fans of buttercream and they nailed it. We had a very simple white cake with a simple design, and it was PERFECT. I have already recommended them to friends for their wedding, birthday, you name it. We even got a small cake a few months before our wedding because we just couldn't wait to eat the wedding cake. :)

I am not a cake person, but the pumpkin spice cake they made for our wedding was amazing! Easy to work with and delicious cakes. Thank you for making our day deliciously special.

After tasting the cake, we knew we wanted to use them for our wedding. They were flexible and worked with our vision. Guests loved the unique flavor we picked (candy crunch filling - HIGHLY recommended) and we cannot wait for our one year anniversary to go back for our free personal sized cake!

For our wedding we got a small cake and cupcakes for guests, let me just say people are still talking about how delicious the cupcakes were! Fluffy Thoughts Cakes was great to work with and the process was so easy and seamless. Because of diet changes I had to change the cake and some of the cupcakes to gluten free and Lara was very responsive and accommodating. They were so good, that you couldn’t even tell the difference! I would highly recommend using Fluffy Thoughts Cake for your wedding!

I attended 10 plus cake tastings. Their cake was not only delicious but looked great too. Many compliments from our reception guests!

My wedding cake was absolutely beautiful as it had everything we spoke about prior. However, we found them to have poor communication and not living up to the contract set by the hotel. We asked to see pictures of what exactly was included in the hotel package, but they didn't have an exact picture of that. Besides that they told us something was extra when it showed as included in the hotel package. We ended up paying the extra item because they said that the hotel package needed updating. We felt like we were in the middle instead of feeling more special about our experience. The cake itself was delicious and it was done beautifully. We asked to have the cake rotated and they said it would be too heavy. We found another baker who had the rotating stand and the cake was fine being rotated. I was slightly disappointed with their customer service, but the final product was great.

The cakes were delicious and exactly what we were looking for. The guests ate leftovers for the days following the wedding and the cakes kept getting better. We also ordered a bunch of mini-desserts including, pies, poptarts, cookies, lemon bars, etc. They were all delicious and the perfect bite. Lara and the team were great to work with from tasting to the big day. They work with you on the vision and budget you have and make it a reality.

My husband and I decided to have a vegan wedding and we were worried about finding a vendor that would bake a vegan cake that also tasted good. So many times vegan desserts are a hit-or-miss, so we were pleasantly surprised by our tasting trial with Fluffy Thoughts. The cake not only tasted amazing and lived up to it's "fluffy" name, but we had so many options for flavors. We went with a three tiered vanilla and chocolate cake with strawberry and raspberry filling. Their final product looked beautiful and tasted just as good. Our guests were skeptical at first too but we had multiple positive feedback from non-vegan family and friends who were impressed. Although the cake did seem a bit expensive, we still highly recommend Fluffy Thoughts to fellow vegans (and non-vegans who want to try something new). We are already looking forward to our one-year anniversary cake!

My now-husband was not the most excited at the thought of going cake tasting, but as soon as we sat down at Fluffy Thoughts with Ronan and an awesome array of cakes, icings, and toppings, he became the proverbial happiest kid in the candy store. The tasting was AMAZING! I've never so enjoyed cake before, and Ronan was patient, friendly, and creative as he worked with our design ideas. In the end we combined a the hazelnut cake with coffee Italian meringue buttercream icing and dark chocolate ganache. The final product at the wedding was everything we wanted. Let's just say I'm counting down the days til I can eat it again. Sooooo delicious. For the guests we also added mini chocolate peanut butter cupcakes (a huge hit) and raspberry pop tarts which were the most unexpected favorite of the night and completely vanished from our dessert bar. Well done, Fluffy Thoughts!!

We went to four cake tastings and Fluffy Thoughts had the best tasting cake by far! We found they had a great selection of flavors and the "deconstructed" cake tasting was one of the highlights of wedding planning! They were very responsive to emails and extremely helpful in providing information on the phone and during the tasting. We got lots of compliments on the cake and can't wait to enjoy the leftovers. The one tip to pass along is that they book up quickly and only are able to take a certain number of reservations for each date. We signed with them more than a year in advance and other people had already signed up for that date before us.

Fluffy Thoughts was included in our package as a provider of wedding cakes. They were amazing during our tasting and worked with us to create the cake that we wanted. On the day of our wedding, we saw the cake and were so pleased with how it turned out. All of our guests raved about how good the cake was and that it was the best wedding cake they had ever had.

We LOVED our desserts from Fluffy Thoughts. The tastings were some of my favorite moments of the wedding planning process. They made each tasting specific for us and paid attention to every detail we requested. Our single tier wedding cake was the perfect size for the cutting of the cake. It was so delicious and was truly beautiful on our dessert table. We barely were able to have servings of the cupcakes, mini pies, rice crispies, and chocolate covered strawberries before our guest took over the table. There was nothing left by the end of the night! Making changes with Fluffy Thoughts was super easy. The drop off and set up process was simple. If you go with them, you have nothing to worry about!

MMM….MMM…MMM… I have been thinking about our wedding cake almost every day leading up to the ceremony and almost every day after since meeting Lara and the team at Fluffy Thoughts Cake. Let’s first start with the tasting experience. My mom and I had the pleasure of tasting a variety of cakes (in cupcake-like form), icings, and fillers in a mix-and-match style and sitting down with Lara to sketch out a first draft of our cake. If I could make a scratch-and-sniff sticker of that experience I would – it was so good. As for the wedding cake itself – everyone said it was one of the best wedding cakes they ever had and their only regret is they didn’t help themselves to seconds! As for my flavors – I went with two: (1) vanilla cake with pastel funfetti, strawberry cream cheese frosting with fresh strawberries and (2) chocolate cake with salted caramel drizzle, chocolate ganache, chocolate crunchies, and a vanilla Italian butter cream. As for my only regret – not insisting that someone be in charge of making sure I tasted both wedding cakes night of. Of course I was too caught up in the evening to seek it out and my only taste was the first ceremonial slice (which was still awesome). At least in about 10.5 months my husband and I get to cash in for our complementary cake topper for our 1 year anniversary. Can’t wait!

Lara and her team made us a beautiful and delicious cake! We had two flavors, one of her standard ones and one customized one. Both were wonderful! We can't wait to pick up our anniversary cake in November!

We were so absolutely thrilled with Fluffy Thoughts. Lara was really nice and responsive, and gave us a very reasonable price point for our dessert bar and cake. We decided to do a small 6-inch cake (pumpkin sponge with cinnamon buttercream, and beautiful fondant autumn leaves for decoration) along with our dessert bar (mini pumpkin pies, Nutella mini pop tarts, chocolate cake pops, vanilla cake pops, and raspberry Linzer cookies). Absolutely everything we tried was to die for. The execution we received the day of was amazing - and every one of our guests demolished the desserts - there was nothing left! We can't wait for our one year anniversary so we can go back and get a pumpkin cake in celebration :)

We did a tasting with Fluffy Thoughts for our wedding cake and we have an amazing experience. Lara was so professional and helpful and gracious. She made us feel welcomed in her shop and got us comfortable with her process, cakes, and icings. It was hands down one of the best vendor experiences we had. Their icings (the vanilla italian meringue) was the best I've ever had, and I'm a cake snob plus we tasted 6 total bakeries so that's saying a lot. Lara's design was very artistic, modern, but still traditional and went perfectly with our theme. We ended up choosing a different vendor for the wedding cake -- I was on the hunt for a super moist , flavorful almond cake , which wasn't FT's specialty, but based on our experience (and their icing!) I used them for my husbands groom cake. Cake arrived on time, designed as agreed on, and looked amazing! This is my fault for choosing a design with black, but I wish I had known the black spray on the icing transfers on to everything -- we got it on the table cloths, guests teeths and hands, etc, so be warned if you have any strong colors on your design. A lot of bakeries lack in the professionalism or their cakes are cartoony/clown-ish; with Fluffy Thoughts their pricing was on the higher end, but it's because you get what you pay for -- a tasty piece of classy edible art and professionalism.

We ordered cupcakes/top tier for our wedding and it was fantastic! The cupcakes/cake were beautiful and delicious!

The tasting was great - we were able to taste an option in the spring that wasn't currently available for our fall wedding. We ended up going with that option (apple cake) for our cutting cake so were very grateful we were able to try it. We had cupcakes and they provided our cake plate for the cutting cake and the cupcake display. We had 5 different flavors for our guests who had nothing but compliments for us. Highly recommended!

We absolutely LOVED our wedding cake and rehearsal cake. Our guests were stunned by the sugar flowers cascading down our cake and had to be convinced that they weren't real flowers. The staff and owner of Fluffy Thoughts were friendly and easy to work with. We can't wait until we get our one year anniversary cake!

We LOVED our Fluffy Thoughts wedding cake! Our tasting was so fun, where we were able to mix and match deconstructed cake, frosting, and fillings to create our perfect cake! Everything was delicious so it was difficult to choose. Lara was so relaxed and gave us so much flexibility to create the perfect cake for our day. It turned out beautifully and was everything we had hoped for! The guests were not disappointed! Thank you Lara and Fluffy Thoughts for making our wedding super tasty!

From start to finish, Fluffy Thoughts was perfection. We feel so fortunate to have worked with such a wonderful company who provided the best of the best for our wedding day! Lara and her team are so creative—we weren't sure what we wanted on our cake, and when we came for our tasting (which was incredible, by the way), Lara was quick to sketch out several ideas; all of which would have been amazing. My advice to brides or grooms-to-be is to book Fluffy Thoughts early! We booked in January for our September wedding and got the last slot they had available for that weekend. Fluffy Thoughts did both our wedding cake and a groom's cake. We were absolutely blown away by both! Working with Lara and her team was so simple and easy--it was like she knew exactly what we wanted before we could even explain it! The cakes both looked and tasted amazing! We received SO many compliments on both cakes. We cannot recommend Fluffy Thoughts more highly.

We had five cake tastings in the DC Metro area including Buttercream in DC and this was the best cake we tasted! The cake tasting experience was also very different than others. They had different frosting and cakes set out so you could make your own cake combination. This gave us the opportunity to pick exactly what we were looking for. The cakes were moist and perfectly baked. The team was professional, responsive, friendly, and the cakes were amazing. You can't go wrong with this company!

From the cake tasting to the finished wedding cake, our experience with Fluffy Thoughts was nothing short of fantastic! We were so impressed with Lara as she sketched out our cake vision right in front of us during our consultation and with the unique way Fluffy Thoughts conducts the cake tasting, allowing customers to create their own flavors and try different combinations. Our cake was not only gorgeous, but absolutely delicious! We wanted to do a lot of cake tastings, but after going to Fluffy Thoughts we knew that no other bakery would stand a chance. Fantastic cake, and the best part about it is the free 1-year anniversary cake, so you don't have to freeze your top tier and get sick after trying to eat it a year later!

OH MY GOSH.....I had the most beautiful wedding cake, and it was so incredibly delicious! I can't say enough good things.

Fluffy Thoughts provided us our wedding cake and we were very pleased with the results. Throughout most of the wedding process, my fiancé and I were in agreement—except for the cake flavors. We both loved very different flavors (one chocolate based and one fruitier). But fear not! Fluffy Thoughts allowed us to select different flavors on different tiers. We found Fluffy Thoughts to have the largest variety of cake flavors from your classics to more unique flavors we wouldn’t have found elsewhere. The cake arrived on time and beautifully decorated. We didn’t have strong opinions about the décor of the cake, but Fluffy Thoughts made sure to listen to what we were saying during our tasting to help us decorate the cake in a way that we would be happy with. One of the added benefits about Fluffy Thoughts that we LOVE—after a year they will bake your “top cake tier” for your anniversary. That saves me freezer space and we don’t have to worry about the health effects of eating year-old cake. We would certainly recommend Fluffy Thoughts to other couples.

WOW! 7 stars if i could. Ok, so we were very price conscious - but this is a wedding cake. We may have paid 15% more than we could have found - but so worth it! The reviews we read did fluffy thoughts justice and we made the call . Spoke to the owner, Lara. She is extremely busy (now i know why) and contact is best when made by appointment (we never met - all over phone). We gave her a design (our own) and she quoted us and gave us comfort. On the day - WOW. The cake was even better than the image we provided and the taste amazing (we did red velvet). No need to keep top layer (we did anyways) as these guys give you an anniversary bonus (small sample of your cake i guess). No hesitations, Lara is busy, Lara may be a bit pricier - but would do it over and over again. Great job and thank you Lara and team!

We had Fluffy Thoughts as a package vendor since we had our wedding at the Mayflower in DC and a basic cake was included as part of our Mayflower agreement. We worked with Lara who was very friendly and professional and courteous, and she was pretty quick to respond and ensure that we got our tasting booked accordingly. At our tasting the staff was very sweet and attentive, and Lara quickly created a fun vision for our cake to incorporate our colors and go through our Pinterest to see if there was any resonating theme since we didn't have an idea for a cake. Overall a pretty solid experience and the cake turned out beautifully, but there was definitely a personal touch that was lacking to the interactions. I would have loved some more ideas in our consultation but we landed and stuck with our initial thoughts, which was beautiful, but I thought maybe there would be more exploration and concepting. After the contract was signed there was little to no touch base from Fluffy Thoughts to check in to see how we were doing on the cake, to just see if we had any reservations or changes. They were pretty busy with the Food Network coming in to shoot which was great, but we were pushed back several times on getting sketches or testing colors in person, over the course of 2-3 weeks. With that type of publicity we understand being put on the back burner but so close to the wedding, two weeks out, we would have liked a little more attention and check in to make sure we were good on cake toppers, cake bases, etc. We just crossed our fingers that the cake would be great - and it was, but we were definitely feeling dicey up until the day of. Overall, good experience and good results, just the service portion could be more focused for bride and groom.

A coworker recommended we check them out after guests couldn’t stop talking about her wedding cake. We went in expecting average wedding cake but left elated! Creative and verrrry tasty flavors. Creative and effective tasting experience for trying various flavor profiles. Easy vendor to work with. Wedding cake tasted just as good as the initial tasting...and leftovers tasted so good we finished them the next day. We can’t wait for fresh our anniversary tier too!

Wow! We loved working with Fluffy Thoughts and their staff. First off, we had our free tasting at their store in McLean, VA -- the cakes we tasted were moist and had lots of rich flavor. We were impressed with the range of cakes they had us try, as well as the various butter cream toppings. We ended up going through our vision for the wedding cake with the baker -- and right their on the spot she drew something up for us and created a visual. We liked what we saw, so we were able to go into more detail on the cake layers and what we wanted. We ended up going with a mix of chocolate and vanilla -- with an Italian buttercream. We also decided to add a sugar sunflower, which was an additional cost. On the wedding day when i saw the cake i was super happy with it. It look super simple, but elegant. The sunflower was beautifully designed and placed. Overall the cake looks gorgeous. Now,when we got to eating the cake, we were so thrilled. It was moist, flavorful and super yummy. It did not disappoint! I always find it difficult to make a cake that can serve 70+ people and have it turn out well, but Fluffy Thoughts delivered! Added bonus -- they offer a one year anniversary cake -- which means you don't have to stick to tradition and keep the top tear for a year! Who wants to eat 1 year old cake anyway -- just get a Fluffy Thoughts Cake and you'll get a new cake on your 1 year anniversary! :)

If you are very lucky, there are things that you will look back on from your wedding day and say, "That was absolutely perfect." Our wedding cake was absolutely perfect. My cousin recommended Fluffy Thoughts. She told us "Even if you don't go with them, go for the tasting." So when we were feeling overwhelmed in the beginning of wedding planning, we scheduled a tasting. We brought the groom's family and a bunch of Pinterest photos and we had a great time! But there were too many cooks in the kitchen. And we didn't really know what we wanted yet. We picked a cake over budget that we didn't really want and didn't place an order. After trying some others, we decided to go back to Fluffy Thoughts. Just us two. We redesigned, picked new flavors, and ended up within our budget. Our cake was half chocolate cake with Italian meringue chocolate buttercream, chocolate ganache and raspberry jam, and half vanilla cake with strawberry, blackberry and raspberry Italian meringue buttercream. We used our wedding invitation for design inspiration. On our wedding day, our cake was beautiful and delicious and exactly what we wanted. Thank you Fluffy Thoughts!!
