Fontana Village Resort and Marina

Cannot say enough wonderful things about Fontana and the people there. The setting and location was absolutely stunning. The resort was the perfect getaway that allowed us to focus on being with our guests and having the best time. The people at Fontana were so easy to work with and went above and beyond to make our wedding absolutely perfect! We felt like family by the time we left and now plan to make an annual trip back. Highly recommend Fontana for any mountain getaway!

The venue and staff at Fontana were more than we could have ever hoped for with our wedding weekend. We were supposed to get married in April 2020 right when Covid hit and our entire state was put on lockdown. We were so disappointed, because everything had already been planned and paid for, but knew we had to make other plans. Tabitha Henry (wedding coordinator at Fontana) jumped in immediately and helped us change our date to the following year and stayed in contact with us as much as she was able during Covid. We came back the next year for a vow renewal and could not have been more pleased. They allowed us multiple visits and taste testings and so much more. We fell in love with the quietness of Fontana from our first visit and we still visit as much as possible. It is very rustic (especially the accommodations), but the staff were 5 star. We received so many compliments from our guests on the food and service for the entire time we were there. We had multiple people who had difficulties walking and Fontana went above and beyond to make everything accessible to them. We were so pleased with the entire process and actually thankful Covid messed up original plans so we could spend another year visiting our new family in Fontana. We highly recommend Fontana and their staff for any events.

My husband and I got married here a few months ago and we are STILL in disbelief of how magical our wedding weekend was at Fontana Village; we could not have ever imagined how perfect it turned out! We are very focused on our friends and family, and a main goal of ours for our wedding was to make it an entire weekend experience as opposed to a 4 hour reception. Our vision was to find a place where our guests were on site for the whole weekend, but had enough attractions/activities available for everyone to enjoy their time on their own as well; to be able to have a vacation! Fontana Village absolutely accomplished that 10 fold. There are plenty of outdoor activities, pools, putt-putt/games, hiking, the marina, the gorgeous mountains, and not to mention the DELICIOUS food. Our guests are still raving about how incredible their time was; many of which are already planning their trip back! Every single staff member we encountered was so incredibly accommodating, helpful and friendly throughout the entire property. Tabitha Henry is the absolute best!! We started this process before Covid, and while things were a little uncertain there for a little bit, she contacted me as soon as everything was back in action and took care of every single little detail we asked for. I know I sent Tabitha a million emails going back and forth on things and had a lot of moving pieces to figure out when trying to plan for the entire weekend, but Tabitha was always so helpful, patient and accommodating. Anytime something changed or was added she had down in her notes, and she had everything we talked about set throughout the whole weekend; not a detail missing! Everyone was so relaxed, and anything we asked for they did their best to accommodate and make it work. We had a lot of time in the venue to set up, and the Bridal Suite is beautiful! We were even able to get a tray of sandwiches brought in for lunch while we got ready, which was well needed. John was also amazing! He was our point person for set-up and was incredibly helpful. Also, Jonathan and Robert in the Bear’s Den Lounge and the Wildwoods Grille were the best throughout the weekend before and after the wedding! We were planning on having the Rehearsal Dinner outside, and then a Welcome Party at one of the firepits for our guests that came in on Friday after the Rehearsal Dinner. It absolutely poured all day, and Tabitha and her team wasted no time rearranging and figuring out a plan B for both the Rehearsal Dinner and the Afterparty; both of which turned out great despite the torrential downpour! The one thing to be mindful of is that there really is no service whatsoever, so just prepare in advance. That was a challenge as people were getting into town (only because we didn’t prepare for it!), but after everyone was on-site, it honestly created such a special, intimate, secluded atmosphere for all of us throughout the weekend! It ended up being a great escape and provided the unique experience to unplug, to use a landline, and to walk to a friend's cabin instead of picking up a phone and texting; to truly be present and in community with those you love and care about the most, and I wouldn’t trade that for the world. Words can't express how thankful we are that we found Fontana Village. It went above and beyond what we could have expected, and truly made the most perfect wedding we will treasure forever.

Perfect place for a wedding! There are servers different spots you can have your wedding at we chose the dam and the reception hall. It was so beautiful and everyone still talks about how amazing our wedding was a few years later! The food was Amazing and the staff are very friendly! Tabitha was a huge help with anything that came up while planning or the day of. Our family was able to travel up and rent the cabins and hotels for the weekend which was nice to all be together for the entire stay! It was so nice not having to worry about setting up and cleaning up beside the center pieces and a few extras I brought along for decorations ( you honestly don’t need much though). The bridal suite was beautiful and such a nice touch to have that space to get ready! It was very affordable and blew my expectations out of the water!

Fontana Village Resort is a beautiful spot for a wedding. Our ceremony was at the Fontana Pavillion which makes for beautiful photos overlooking the lake. The reception was in the main lodge in the Carolina Room and the food was delicious! Tabitha, the event coordinator, was flexible and great to work with. The reception service and staff were amazing!

I grew up in the area and knew about this hidden gem of a venue, but had NO IDEA they would be as amazing as they were. Tabitha, the event coordinator for the resort, went above and beyond to make sure that everything we needed was there and easily accessible. It is great because dining, lodging and all wedding activities can be done right there on one property!

I could not have been happier with my wedding at Fontana Dam. Two years later, our guests still talk about how amazing it was. All of our guests were to be able to stay on the property, and walk to and from their cabins to the rehearsal dinner and reception. The reception hall is quite big, and has a large fireplace. We kept decorations simple to keep cost down, and just let the beauty of Fontana Dam speak for itself. If I could point to one downside, it's that the venue is located in a small town, so you are a little limited on vendors, and you have to go through Fontana Dam for catering and alcohol. However, the catering was very reasonably priced, and quite delicious. We got a lot of compliments from guests on the food. Things went remarkably smooth overall, but when small problems did arise, Tabitha and the venue were very helpful and responsive. The best part is this venue was roughly half the cost of similar venues we were looking at. I would highly recommend Fontana Dam for any couple looking for a rustic/woodsy wedding in a beautiful location.

My husband and I got married here in May of 2021, and could not have been happier with our experience! Tabitha went above and beyond the entire time, and made the process so stress free! Tammy worked with Tabitha to set up the ceremony and reception site and they did it exactly how I wanted it. All I had to do was give them pictures of what I wanted and they brought it to life. Not to mention, they completely disassembled and cleaned everything for me so that I could focus on spending time with my new husband and our families. Also, to this day I still can’t believe how affordable our fairytale was! I 100% would recommend this venue to everyone!

We had no intention on having a big wedding let alone one 6 hours from home, but talking with Tabitha, she helped make the idea very attainable. Tabitha was great at answering all of our questions and providing us with everything we needed. Being so far away from the venue seemed like it might be stressful but everything worked out better than expected and didn't cost nearly as much as we thought it might. The venue was gorgeous and the resort, even with minimal cell service and wifi, was an absolute hit with all our guests

This was the perfect setting for our special day. Beautiful, serene, the staff was amazing, and the food was delicious. We absolutely LOVE Fontana Village!

e were so lucky to stumble upon Fontana Village Resort for our wedding venue. Tabitha Henry is their wedding coordinator and she is such a delight to work with! We planned our wedding from about 6 hours away and she took the stress of it all away. She is one of the nicest people we met and she helped create the best day for us! Fontana Village is a beautiful resort and we had such a memorable weekend with all of our friends and family in one place. This is what made our wedding weekend so much fun. We had all of our loved ones within walking distance of each other! This was the perfect mountain weekend and all of our friends and family had such a great time. Every bride says "expect at least one thing to go wrong on your wedding day", but Tabitha honestly made the day flawless. The food was so delicious, the views were perfect, and we will cherish our wedding day forever. You will seriously enjoy every second of your wedding if you choose Fontana Village!

I can’t rave enough about this place! Tabitha was the best event coordinator I could have had. The food was phenomenal, the venue was great. We did have some slight issues with the initial reception setup, but that was quickly fixed. Also, the people at the front desk kept messing up the room reservations. Make certain that you make all of your reservations for the wedding party through Tabitha.

Fontana village was a perfect location for our mountain wedding. Tabitha was so easy to work with, timely with her correspondence and very professional. The prices were better than any other resorts in the smoky mountain/ Asheville areas. We had about 100+ guests up for our wedding weekend and we found the service excellent. The catering/food and beverage team was flexible with my menu requests, hosted us for a tasting and went above and beyond with food service at our reception. The front desk staff was not quite as helpful when my guests were reserving rooms for the weekend, but the wedding planner had me forward all calls through her to remedy that problem. Fontana village isbeautiful, the ceremony site is gorgeous. We did a first look at the boat ramp for the river, it was stunning. Could not recommend Tabitha and her crew enough.

The wedding coordinator, Tabitha Henry, and the staff at Fontana were amazing during my whole wedding process. She gave me so much peace of mind. The staff set all the chairs up for my ceremony and reception, and had all the food ready to go when we got to the reception. Tabitha was amazing from beginning to end and so so helpful. She is great about answering any questions and replied quickly via email when I had a question. I would recommend Fontana Village Resort to all my family and friends looking for somewhere to have a wedding with amazing views in the mountains!

Fontana Village was a great venue for our wedding weekend. Tabitha and Kristy were both so helpful and responsive to our needs in advance and during the weekend. Food was great, we really enjoyed the Tuscan menu with chicken parmesean and lasagna. We had a small gathering of family/friends and everyone had a great time. Its a rustic nice resort with plenty of activities for guests to do around ceremony events. Would highly recommend if you want a remote ceremony!

The wedding coordinator and banquet director, Tabitha and Kristy, and all of the staff did a wonderful job and were very accommodating. The location was beautiful and had a great atmosphere. The food at the rehearsal and reception exceeded our expectations. Our guests enjoyed staying in the cabins and lodge where they could meet up and hang out with friends that they had not seen in a while. Most of our guests had never been to the area and had a wonderful time.

One of the best decisions we made regarding our wedding was choosing to celebrate at Fontana Village Resort! It was the perfect Smoky Mountain vacation for us and our guests and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. The food was amazing and everyone loved the beautiful scenery. Some of the rooms and cabins could be updated, but honestly it wasn’t one of my priorities so I didn’t mind. We loved having everything there in one spot, and guests commented on just how much there was to do there. It really does cater to a group of guests looking for a beautiful Smoky Mountain getaway! We couldn’t be happier with our decision to celebrate the happiest day of our lives at this venue! Highly recommend.

Tabitha and Fontana Village are absolutely amazing. Couldn’t ask for a better place to get married. Not one single flaw! Seriously the best ever.

My husband and I got married over Memorial Day weekend and Fontana Village made the wedding everything we imagined and more!! As much as a cliche as that sounds, it really is true. Tabitha was very responsive and quick at getting back to me during the entire planning process, staying friendly and super helpful despite the absurd amount of questions between my mother and I. During the weekend, Dena and Chuck were there for absolutely anything and everything we needed even before we knew it! Even the slightest request, they went above and beyond to make the wedding everything we could have dreamed of. The resort was perfect and great for all of our family and friends to come into town and stay at the venue. They made the whole process seamless and easy for us, despite all the bumps in the road. I could not have pictured it any better and will remember the Fontana Village Resort for the rest of my life. I definitely recommend having your wedding or any other event here!!!

I cannot say enough about Tabitha and all the staff at Fontana Village! Not only did they make the planning process seamless, but they went above and beyond to help us on our wedding day. The day of it rained and poured for hours. As the power went out in our cabins due to weather, Tabitha and all the staff made sure we had rooms and everything we needed to make sure the day went smoothly. Once it all cleared up, some staff even went out to wipe all of our chairs down. I would recommend any of their venues for a ceremony, but the lookout near the pavilion was gorgeous and took everyone's breath away. Everything was perfect from staff, to the venues, to the food-everything. We are so glad we chose Fontana Village for our special day!!

We got married at Fontana Village earlier this month, and the whole experience was amazing! Tabitha, the wedding manager, is the absolute best combination of laid-back and extremely detail-oriented. Between me, my mom, and my mother in law, she probably received five emails a day about my wedding - and she still was always super positive, thorough, and prompt in responding. I planned everything from halfway across the country, so this was a HUGE benefit. The Village itself was wonderful. The food is delicious (we did a barbecue buffet with some upgraded sides to go with the Smoky Mountain theme), and the main event hall was the perfect place for our celebration. I loved that you rent the whole building, so the separate bar area, bridal room, and game room area all included for a very reasonable price. Try to visit in the early evening so you can see how great the lighting is around dinner time. On top of all that - our friends and family loved staying a few extra days at Fontana for a mini vacation. We have lots of kids in the family, and all the amenities were perfect for a family-friendly stay. Thank you for everything, Fontana Village!!

My ceremony was held at the dam overlook and my reception was in the events hall. To start with, I live in Hawaii so I planned my entire wedding from here with a 5 hour time difference. At first I thought it was going to be a major problem, but after talking to Tabitha Henry, the wedding coordinator, I knew it was not. She is the sweetest most professional person I have dealt with. We mostly communicated through email because that's what worked for us but if I called she always answered. Any questions I had easy, hard, or ones that I had already asked a million times were answered quickly and throughly. Tabitha is amazing to say the least. I made one trip to Fontana dam to do my food tasting. I choose to go with the backyard BBQ. They have many options though. Again no disappointment here. I took my grandma, mother-in-law, and aunt with me and we all were very pleased. To be honest with this venue, the food is what you're basically paying for. Most venues have an outrageous price for their venue and then you have to still have to pay for a caterer. With this venue, I paid 600 for the events hall and like a hundred something for chairs at my ceremony and a little over 2000 for food. That may seem like a lot but considering quality, taste, and the pricing of everything else it's really reasonable. Lodging was simple and convenient. All rooms and cabins are on the property and easily accessible. The day of my wedding was somewhat flawless. There was an unscheduled power outage for about 2 hours the day of but luckily it didn't affect anything. Staff handled it professionally and as best they could. I was kept updated at all times. I was able to decorate the night before and clean up the morning after. I do not know his last name but Jesse is also amazing. I cannot brag on him enough. He was my right hand man the day before and day of the wedding. I cannot remember anything I asked for and did not get. Overall, I cannot brag enough. I was and am very much so still very impressed with this venue as a whole. The location is beautiful, the food is amazing, and the staff are reliable and very easy going. If you choose this venue you will not regret it.

Fontana Village Resort and Tabitha, the wedding coordinator, were very flexible with our wedding day process. The Italian buffet was amazing and complimented by all the guests. The service provided during the reception at the resort was great as well. Any requests we had was made possible by Tabitha and Fontana Village Resort. The price is very reasonable and venue is gorgeous! We held our Ceremony at the Fontana Dam, which Tabitha helped coordinate the chairs to be placed for us. There is nothing we can complain about. Our guests and us enjoyed our stay as well. I would recommend this gorgeous classy outdoorsy wedding venue to everybody!

Our wedding was almost two months ago and I'm still basking in the perfection of it all. I cannot say enough good things about Fontana Village Resort. Let me start by saying, the value of this place cannot be beat by any other venue in Western North Carolina. It has EVERYTHING to offer at a very reasonable price. The wedding coordinator, Tabitha Henry, was incredibly accommodating and helpful from beginning to end. She and her staff did absolutely everything they could to make sure our big day was perfect. Our ceremony at the overlook was absolutely beautiful and the reception at the event hall was the most fun I've ever had. Even getting ready was a blast - the bridal suite is so pretty and great for pictures! Our guests had nothing but great things to say afterward. We all wish we could have stayed longer. Everyone has been talking about coming back again next year for family vacations! Fontana Village Resort is a truly awesome wedding venue. Our wedding was everything I could have dreamed of and more.

Perfect rehearsal dinner, perfect ceremony and perfect reception. The staff could not have been more accommodating. We had a wonderful wedding weekend at Fontana Village with 170 of our family and friends attending. The ceremony, rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour and reception all went beautifully. Tabitha, the wedding coordinator, was wonderful and helped us plan every aspect of our event. We were very pleased with the food. I believe a good time was had by all. The venue had activities for all ages and interests. Thanks for all the wonderful memories made.

Fontana Resort is an absolutely wonderful venue for a wedding! The planning process with Tabitha Henry, the wedding coordinator, was so much fun that I'm sorry it's over! Tabitha and all the staff at the resort go out of their way to make your event special. Our guests all want to go back for a long weekend. The beautiful location in the mountains was exactly what my son and daughter-in-law wanted. Everything was outstanding - the food, venue, recreation, rehearsal dinner and wedding, and the coordination of all of it. I highly recommend Fontana Resort and Tabitha Henry for your special event!

Fontana Village Resort is the most fantastic place to get married! The most spectacular views you could imagine, they are breath taking!!! Our wedding was June 18, 2016 and it could not have been more Beautiful!!! Everyone at Fontana Village was so very helpful and extremely accommodating to us!!! Tabitha Henry was our Wedding Coordinator and she helped us with details up till the very last minute making sure everything was as it was supposed to be!!! Chris with Food/Beverage,,,he set our reception up in the Carolina Room and I could n't have dreamed of anything more perfect!!!!! Everyone one of our guests complimented the food and how wonderful everything tasted!!!! Marie Rogers was a dream, she arranged all of our guests reservations, she made sure they has their cabins or lodge rooms ready for their arrival and everything was perfect for them as well!! Wesley and I didnt have to worry one minute about any of the details, they handled it all perfectly!!! We had the wedding of our dreams there in Fontana Village...I highly recommend this fabulous fairy tale wonderland!!!!!

We fell in love with Fontana Lake the first time we visited. We knew this was where we wanted to get married. Tabitha Henry, the wedding coordinator, was fantastic. She took care of everything there and when I arrived Saturday, I just had to decorate. We got married on the overlook and the weather was beautiful and everything went wonderful. Everybody talked about how beautiful it is there. The reception was perfect and Joey and all his staff were amazing. The food was delicious! I can't say enough about how much I love Tabitha and everybody at Fontana Village. They helped make my day perfect!

Fontana Village is above all the rest. When my husband and I first started out to pick a place to have the ceremony and reception we visited Fontana Village. Tabitha Henry the wedding coordinator met us and showed us all the possibilities they had to offer. We fell in love with the view at Fontana Dam. We started out with a large wedding and she showed us the different banquet rooms we could use. Later we decided to forgo the large wedding and do just family. We were going to pursue an alternative venue. So we canceled the wedding at Fontana Village. But I still had my heart set on that gorgeous view at the dam. Later I contacted Tabitha and the date was still available. I told her my latest plan and she suggested a smaller room for the reception. She is extremely accommodating. I loved the new plan and I booked our wedding with her. My husband and I just recently got married and I couldn't have asked for a better more beautiful wedding. Everything was perfect, from the wedding coordinator to the chef and friendly staff. Everyone was friendly and willing to help with anything you might need. They were very patient and professional and the food was excellent. All of our guest are still boasting about the beauty of the ceremony and reception and how wonderful everything and everyone was. I would highly recommend Fontana Village and Tabitha Henry for all your wedding planning!!!!

Our wedding was perfect!we got married May 7 2016. Everything from the ceremony location at the Fontana Lake Overlook to our reception at Fontana Village Resort went off without a hitch. The staff were professional and friendly. Our guests raved about the food, it was delicious! Tabitha is kind and full of helpful suggestions, especially if planning from a distance. We couldn't have asked for better, it was exactly what my husband and I wanted. Thank You Fontana for making our guests comfortable and happy!!

We contacted Fontana Village Resort a year and a half before our vow renewal. We wanted a small, intimate ceremony. We utilized the lobby, with its beautiful Christmas decorations and huge, stone fireplace. It was gorgeous! We also had our reception here. 12 of us, in all, and we ate and ate and ate, and still didn't put a dent in the food. We did an Italian Buffet. I am not a veggie person, but the veggie lasagna was to die for. The chicken parmesan was, too. The service (bartender Ashley was also our server) was spot on. We never lacked for anything. If you're a small group, ask if you can use the Bear's Den (the bar area) for your party. It is beautiful. The view of the mountains is just breath-taking. We reserved a block of rooms, and the reservations went smoothly. At about a month to go, they had to change our room type, as the type we had stayed in previously was having plumbing issues. They upgraded us to a 2 bedroom cabin. It was amazing! Fireplace, huge jacuzzi tub, and so private. It was lovely. The wedding planner there, Tabitha, is great. She will find a way to make whatever you want happen! She even helped me play Secret Santa and place a gift bag in each guests' room. She answers emails super fast, and just makes sure everything is perfect. This really is a one-stop-shopping place to get married/have your vows renewed. I can't say enough wonderful things about it.

Fontana is such a great place for a wedding! I recently got married at the pavilion area at Fontana Dam, and the view is absolutely beautiful. Our reception was held in the events hall at the resort, which was perfect. Tabitha helped us through the entire wedding planning process to ensure that our day was just what we wanted. Everyone had a great time and the food was delicious! I highly recommend Fontana Village Resort for any event, and especially a wedding.

We loved everything about Fontana. The facility, the staff, the location, the food...everything was perfect. The staff went above & beyond at every turn & made sure that our big day was exactly what we dreamed it would be!

We had an incredible wedding at Fontana Village Resort. Even with the rain, our guests (115 and a band) squeezed under the pavilion by Fontana Dam with a gorgeous lake, lightning and thunder and mountains in the background during our service. Following, guests headed up to the Rec Hall and enjoyed the delicious BBQ buffet provided by Fontana Village Resort. Our guests made the event into a vacation and enjoyed the Fontana Marina, Appalachian Trail, mountain views, fishing, white water rafting and everything else this Smoky Mountain resort has to offer. All of our guests told us that it was one of the best weddings they had attended and that the location was incredibly beautiful. Tabitha, the events coordinator at Fontana is extremely responsive and quick (within 24 hours usually) at getting back to you with e-mails. I would recommend Fontana Village Resort to anyone who wants to get married in the beautiful Smoky Mountains! I cannot say enough positive things about this venue and caterer.

Fontana Village Resort was absolutely the best place I could have had my wedding at. They listened to my vision and ideas and then made them a reality. I am so glad I had my wedding here!

We were married in Fontana over 3 years ago in September. People still tell us that it's their favorite wedding they've ever attended! Being in a secluded environment that was still in driving distance for our closest family and friends was key. The entire team went out of their way from planning to implementing, to provide us with a smooth (and FUN) wedding weekend. I simply cannot say enough about their professionalism, hospitality, and efficiency. The food was absolutely incredible. The differing venues that Fontana can offer is vast and would be beautiful for any setting. We held our rehearsal dinner cocktails at the lobby's back porch (gorgeous views), our rehearsal dinner was in one of the rooms at the main lodge, our ceremony was by the fire pit (which we rented all the cabins surrounding the area so folks could literally step outside and watch), and our 140+ person reception was at the Rec hall. Many of our guests stayed the entire weekend and enjoyed the hikes and lazy river, along with the many other recreational activities offered. Having grown up visiting 'The Village' every summer, it was a thrill to be able to share that special place with all of our friends and family. Fontana gained new fans that weekend, and many of our guests have been back on their own (a true testament). I would recommend Fontana in a heartbeat to any future bride!

My daughter was married on 12/31/2015 and the wedding reception was held at Fontana Village Resort in Robbinsville, NC. Everything was perfect! Tabitha was our wedding coordinator and she handled every little detail with perfection. Marie handled the reservations. Tabitha provided me with a list of vendors and helped me throughout the whole process. I highly recommend this venue for any wedding or event - the resort could accomodate all sizes and the food was the best. All of our guests were complimentary of the food and the resort was beautiful!! Great memories!!

We chose Fontana because it has been a spot my husband's family has gone to for years for family vacations. My mom and I went for the first time only 2 months (we did things pretty quickly) before our wedding and met with Tabitha, the events coordinator. She showed us around that day and we communicated by email for the rest of time before the wedding. She was extremely helpful and was able to put together a memorable wedding without a lot of time or fuss. Our guests said its the most fun they have ever had at a wedding! Good food and beautiful scenery. If you love the mountains this is the place.

I grew up in Fontana Village, and had many fond memories of the quaint little village in the Smokies. I moved away for college and lost touch. After college, I heard the village had changed ownership, and upon getting engaged decided to tour the village for our wedding destination. What I found when touring was awesome! Though the property could still use some maintenance, it has drastically improved over the years. With updated lodging and facilities, gorgeous vistas, and wonderful catering manager and staff, it was an easy choice for our mountain-chic wedding weekend. We had an absolutely amazing wedding weekend, much due to Fontana's highly professional and efficient staff. They didn't miss a single detail.
