We cannot recommend Foodesign enough! The food was absolutely incredible and one of the highlights of our wedding. From cocktail hour through dinner, every single dish was deliciou...
s, beautifully prepared, and exceeded our expectations.
Our guests are still talking about how amazing the food was. Throughout the night, people kept coming up to us to tell us it was some of the best wedding food they had ever had. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, and there truly wasn't a single item that disappointed.
Beyond the amazing food, the entire team was wonderful to work with throughout the planning process. They were professional, organized, accommodating, and made everything so easy. On the wedding day, the service was seamless, and everything ran exactly as planned.
If you're looking for a caterer that will wow your guests and provide an outstanding experience from start to finish, look no further than Foodesign. We are so grateful they were part of our wedding day, and we would choose them again in a heartbeat!
We LOVED our food. The salad and dressing were absolutely delicious, they set our tables perfectly and even helped set up our dessert table (donuts we bought independently) without...
even asking them to. Nicole was great with everything leading up to the big day and even more so on the day. We would definitely work with them again and recommend them to everyone needing catering.
Chef Brech catered my July 2017 wedding. He was flexible enough to travel from Grand Rapids to Charlotte, and working around the barn venue without prep kitchen. His food was exc...
ellent, particularly the seasoning on all of the vegetables. He was willing to work with us on a gluten free menu, special dishes for my very picky brother and my elderly grandmother. The service we received on the day of was extremely good. We chose the buffet dinner, but there were still servers keeping water glasses filled and busing the tables. Chef Brech was personally there for our wedding and also brought a different coordinator to keep everything running smoothly while he prepped food in the tent they brought with them. When we ran out of white wine early in the evening, the coordinator even made a run to the store to get some more! The price was fantastic and we just got so much service for that price along with the good food.
What a wonderful experience!
We recently got married 1/7/17 at the Goei Center and FOODESIGN exceeded any expectations we had. I was lucky enough to work with both Steve & Cassan...
dra and could not have asked for two more perfect people. They were quick with emails responses, always willing to suggest different ways to achieve the menu we had in mind, and always so professional and friendly. We went with a custom buffet with garden salad, beef tenderloin medallions, sicilian chicken, with traditional rice pilaf, herb roasted redskins, and fresh green bean almandine. It was phenomenal! All night we received compliments from our guest on how delightful the food was. From the beautiful linens and napkins to the amazing service, easily 10 out of 10!
Thank you so much for making our big day far more beautiful and delicious than we ever imagined!

We asked Chef Brech to set up three different stations of food for our reception. Even after making it clear that we wanted dinner ready by 7:15pm, it wasn't ready until 7:45pm. I ...
(the groom) had to go out behind the tent looking for the Chef Brech employees and when I found them, they were smoking! I couldn't believe the lack of preparation and professionalism from a supposed wedding caterer. I informed Steve Brechting (the owner) about what happened and he never responded. It's clear that his strategy is to get you to fork over thousands of dollars for your event, do a terrible job, and then move onto the next event without apologizing or providing compensation. Chef Brech is the definition of poor customer service. I obviously wouldn't choose them again for any event.
We attended our friends wedding at the new Harris Building in downtown Grand Rapids last evening. A BEAUTIFUL space might i add. We were excited to experience what Food Design ha...
d to offer since we had never been to an event catered by them. It started off a little rocky and only got worse from there. The wedding size was around 100 people and the bar was unable to get the beer to pour properly, after only 1 hour of service they ran out of moscato and an hour after that the chardonnay was gone as well, by 10pm there was no white wine at all. On to what really matters, the food! The wedding party did speeches, we toasted half a dozen times over a 20 minute period, and when the dj released the head table things got weird. When the wedding party arrived to the buffet they were met with no food, nothing!! Looking confused the wedding party broke apart and began mingling with guests at the tables. 20 minutes later servers began bringing out a variety of pizzas and some warm salad for everyone to be disgusted by, that was the best part. The pizza was on frozen dough and it was obviously stone cold. The cheese was hard and dry, the chicken pesto pizza might have been good if it wasnt cold and on a crust that I assume was made from a recycled cardboard substance. At the end of the buffet was a basket of breadsticks (made from the same recycled cardboard crust) and marinara sauce that was in a chaffing dish but was also merely luke warm. It didnt ruin the night because the food wasnt the reason we were there, however Chef Brech and Food Design should consider themselves lucky this wasnt my wedding...

Thanks so much Chef!!
Although we were really happy with the quality of food and the service of the catering staff during dinner, there were a few disappointments. We planned for Chef Brech to be our ma...
in contact, but he was double booked and told us his other Chef would be assigned to us instead. This other chef did a great job with the food prep and presentation, but with Chef Brech not being there, the staff showed up much later than expected, without warning, and not many of the details were passed along as promised.
Chef Brech did a phenomenal job catering my wedding! He was so accommodating with our schedule, venue and provided tables and linens. We had different stations and couldn't have be...
en happier! Everyone raved about the food! With other restaurant owners in the attendance it could've been a tough crowd but Chef Brech delivered perfectly! I was so happy and stress free everything was a breeze!
