Forgotten Barrel Winery

I had my wedding at Forgotten Barrel Winery on February 24th and it was such a great experience. They were very responsive and helpful. My original wedding venue was shut down and I found Forgotten Barrel, they luckily had my date available. I can’t wait to go back for wine tasting.

My husband and I got married at Forgotten Barrel in November and it was just the most perfect experience! Everything was so easy with the all inclusive package, and all the vendors that were included were incredible! We got sooo many compliments on how beautiful and perfect of a place Forgotten Barrel is. Alyssa was always quick to respond and the whole team really pulled off our day without a hitch. I would get married there a million times over!

We absolutely loved our event. The staff was very attentive and communicative both before and during the event. The grounds are beautiful and the wine is great. We also appreciated the freedom to choose our favorite vendors and not just a set list of choices.

We feel so lucky to have come across this venue online when we were on the search. From the day we came to tour, Kris and Alyssa were extremely helpful, kind, and responsive. They took the time to answer our many questions and worked with us to make our wedding what we wanted. Their comprehensive package was a great option that made the wedding planning process seamless. The grounds are beautiful, well kept, and our guests wouldn’t stop complimenting other venue. It truly is one a kind. We are so happy with our selection and would not hesitate to recommend this venue to our friends & family, thank you Alyssa & Kris!

The Forgotten Barrel Winery is a hidden gem in Escondido, CA. We visited a ton of wedding venues in the San Diego Area and we didn’t find anything that was as beautiful, intimate, and budget-friendly as this venue. The outside ceremony area is amazing along with the cool barrel room for the reception after. The ambiance at night makes the venue even prettier. All of our guests told us how much they loved it. We highly recommend the Forgotten Barrel Winery for any couple that’s looking for an intimate wedding venue and a fun experience!

This was the most beautiful and intimate venue. The staff was accommodating, professional and kind. We loved every single moment of our wedding here. They have a beautiful bridal suite for getting ready with a shower, just remember to bring your own towels. The groom suite was nice as well but it was very hot and a little small in there. The only issue we had in this sense were that we are a dual bride couple so it would have been nice to have a second space for us to be able to both get ready but we made it work and shared the bridal suite until it was time to put on dresses. Other than those small details this venue exceeded all of our expectations. One thing that we loved is that the venue offered open bar per person in addition to venue rental so everything was handled in house and included bartenders. It was a dream to have our wedding here not only was the vineyard portion gorgeous and green but the barrel room gives off such a castle like regal ambiance. Words can't even describe how incredible it was. Thank you to Alyssa our venue event coordinator she was amazing to work with! Just amazing all around.

Where to begin with how happy we are we selected Forgotten Barrel Winery for our wedding ceremony and reception! The service was unmatched with this venue. Alyssa was incredible from start to finish- her communication, professionalism, organization, kindness, and flexibility was SO appreciated. She worked tirelessly to ensure all of our needs and requests were met. The venue is incredible- the getting ready rooms, the natural beauty for photos, and all the staff are spectacular! All of their preferred vendors are incredible and I love how they all work together as a team to ensure the vision of the couple is achieved. HIGHLY recommend this venue for a wedding celebration. We had our wedding on June 3 of this year! This was a wonderful time to be here as all the vines and jasmine were in bloom, so it looked and smelled amazing! Alyssa & Kris are absolutely wonderful and take really great care of the place. They were accommodating and very clear about what things they offer (as far as bar items, wedding decor items, etc). Everything was set up and ready to go the day before. They’re able to have 100 people in the main hall, which is a perfect number. Alyssa gave us a tour weeks prior and told us the very cool history of the property as well. The main hall is castle like on the inside and rustic barn on the outside - we just loved it. Everything went without a hitch, we would 10/10 host other events here!!

I absolutely loved everything about my wedding at the forgotten barrel. It such a great and beautiful venue. Their package is so amazing and includes so much, we planned our wedding in just 4 months and it was such a breeze total stress free. Alyssa, the workers, the vendors everyone was so amazing I can't rave enough about it

This venue is superb and will make your wedding anxiety minimal as they have everything you want in their packages and take a lot of the stress off of you!

My Husband and I absolutely loved this venue. Everyone was so kind and helpful every step of the way. The venue is so gorgeous, we couldn't have asked for a better place to share our special day with our friends and family.

We absolutely loved hosting our wedding at Forgotten Barrel. The venue was perfect for our group size (88). The space was just right for our ceremony, cocktail hour, dancing, games, photo booth and a warm & cozy atmosphere. We chose Forgotten Barrel because we wanted to have very specific food. Most venues have preferred vendor lists and are very rigid. We were able to hire the caterers we wanted to meet our cultural needs. Forgotten Barrel even introduced us to one of the vendors we used. We also enjoyed the winery's package that included dessert, DJ, and the bar. Having that already lined up, helped us. All the vendors that came through the venue were absolutely amazing! Alyssa, Venue Coordinator, helped us in every step of the way. We had a lot of questions and she patiently helped us with everything she could. We had a challenging theme, sustainability, but Forgotten Barrel did everything to help us reduce waste. At first we were uncertain if the winery was going to photograph well, but our pictures were absolutely fantastic. All the different locations available at the winery made for fabulous photos. We were so happy with how everything turned out. Alyssa, the Forgotten Barrel team, and all their vendors made the day extra special for us. We were very glad to have them by our side.

We absolutely LOVED our wedding day and huge part of that was because we chose to have it at Forgotten Barrel Winery. It is the perfect location for a quaint and intimate wedding ceremony and reception. The perk of having it on a Thursday allowed for us to have the whole property to ourselves which was amazing. So many of my family and friends kept asking how I found this hidden gem. Alyssa Donyes and the entire venue staff were extremely friendly, warm and helpful throughout our planning process, including the wine tasting and walk through prior to the wedding day. Alyssa was also super accommodating and helpful on the day of the wedding as well. We can’t thank them enough for being such a huge part of what made our day so magical!

We cannot thank Alyssa Donyes and her staff at Forgotten Barrel enough. Alyssa was incredibly patient with the thousands of questions we had for her over the course of about a year. We had an entirely Vegan menu and Dessert here and she was always very sympathetic to our needs. She really made the whole process very easy. Our Wedding Day was so beautiful and we are so grateful to have gone with Forgotten Barrel. The venue is a hidden gem located in a residential area of Escondido. One of the best things was having our ceremony, photography and reception literally steps away from each other. Our guests, who drove/flew in from all over appreciated it as well. It felt very comfortable with our 45 person guest count as well (We thought the venue might be too big). Thank you again to Forgotten Barrel for the most memorable day of our lives!

Beautiful venue to have a wedding! Love the whole look of the winery! I had a vision for a more rustic/vintage vibe and this place fit that. And it was a beautiful time of year there too. Loved the getting ready rooms. Our guests kept complimenting the venue all night. It wasn’t always easy though throughout the planning process with the staff. Not always easy to get in touch with. We had trouble scheduling a rehearsal at first. It seems like this venue is just eager to book as many events as possible that they don’t set aside the time and space for people who have already paid good money for their event. The staff that worked our day were great. Overall we’re happy with how our wedding came together here, but we did have obstacles.

We Loved our wedding at forgotten barrel! The greenery, the staff, the ease of booking a wedding package for a good price. Our guests loved having the whole place to ourselves at night so they could talk outside, dance inside or gather in the courtyard. We went with a package which meant less organizing vendors and the ones on their list - Dj Mauro - inferno pizza- twin treats- legit. And the ceremony was beautiful – even in July heat! The grounds were kept cool and pretty shaded. Highly recommend .

We absolutely loved Forgotten Barrel! Our guests raved about the vendors- amazing food, options for fresh made donuts, excellent DJ, great bar service and not to mention their wine is so good! The staff truly cares about making your wedding day one that you and your guests will never forget! The venue is beautiful and made for some amazing photos. We cannot give enough positive praise to Forgotten Barrel! Would highly recommend this venue!

Forgotten Barrel is a hidden Gem in Escondido! We were thrilled with this venue for our daughter and her Fiancés wedding. The managers, Alyssa & Kris were tremendously helpful with ensuring that the day was extra special, we felt that they went out of their way to assist us! We loved the charming ceremony site and, the outdoor area for appetizers was perfect! For the dinner, our guests were wowed by the historic rustic setting and romantic mood of the vintage building. The DJ and churro bar that they recommended were wonderful as well. The bar service was on point and efficient even with the large group. The rooms for the bride's maids and groom's men were air conditioned and perfect! We just can't recommend this venue enough if you are looking for something that is more personal and unique.

Forgotten Barrel Winery was our absolute dream wedding venue and our wedding here was beyond perfect. Forgotten Barrel is the perfect size venue, small enough to feel super cozy and intimate yet large enough to host 100 people. It reminds me of an italian villa with wine country vibes, old wood buildings, vines growing on the walls, and tons of dreamy nooks to take amazing photos in. This is the perfect place to have an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception with even the indoor area feeling very "open" and spacious. We chose this venue not only because of aesthetic but because of all that it included, tables and chairs for ceremony and reception, great beer and wine selection, recommended list of the best vendors, included dessert, and we loved how you could mingle out to the patio during the reception and you weren't required to stay inside. Alyssa, the venue coordinator is very helpful and detail oriented. She is great at what she does and I highly recommend you trust in her, she knows what she is doing and will ensure your day comes together just as you dream of! The day went immaculately! I was nervous because I had never planned a big event before and it went perfectly thanks to the crew at Forgotten Barrel. Chris, the general manager is also super helpful and contributed to the day running smoothly as well. We had churros for our dessert and they were a huge hit with out guests and our dinner was traditional Mexican food. We used DJ Frank from the recommended vendor list and he was the best!! Our day of coordinator was Korina from Serene Events and she helped our day flow really smoothly, and we highly recommend her as well. Another nice part of the venue is the bride and grooms suites to get ready in. They are clean, spacious and have good aesthetic. The bridal suite has big mirrors and high chairs, perfect for a stylist to do hair or makeup in. Thank you again to everyone at Forgotten Barrel for the amazing experience and for hosting the bet day of our lives!!!!!!

I had my dream wedding on Halloween. The day was amazing and I wouldn’t have changed a thing!! If you are in Southern California and looking for a venue reach out to my Forgotten Barrel Winery! They were the best and I would recommend to anyone getting married! The venue includes a beautiful ceremony lawn and a romantic barrel room for the reception. It was the perfect setting for our spooky chic Hallowedding!! The winery made a special witches brew sangria for our cocktail hour and reception which everyone loved!!! We were able to take the most beautiful photos in the vineyard! Plus they have a bridal suite on site for you to get ready and spend the night with your new husband!! Thank you Forgotten Barrel Winery for helping us have the best day of our lives!!

We had our wedding here and it was just the most perfect venue for what we dreamed our day to be. The rustic look of the buildings with the green leaves of the trees and grape vines made for the most beautiful views. Amy was so amazing to work with and made the planning process so easy with the list of vendors she provided. We are so happy that we chose to have our special day here!

Forgotten Barrel will forever hold a special place for us! From first contact to wedding day Amy B was great. Our wedding was in February after change in color tier due to Covid - no dancing, with the exception of first dance. We were totally okay with that. Flexibility of the venue was incredible and a blessing. All venders were brought in by us and mosts were from a vendor list provided by venue. Wine and beer purchased from the venue. Overnight suite was provided and also used as a getting ready area. Guys had a spot as well. Our wedding was small and intimate totaling 46 people. We didn’t use the barrel room due to covid and was in the courtyard which we actually look back and glad we were. Heaters worked great and guests were advised to bring coats. Very reasonable on cost and early set up day of was great for those setting up. Make sure coordinating day of is clear. Beautiful venue for a wedding and capturing the special day!

Overall, it was a great experience. They are pretty strict with Covid restrictions compared to other venues that we looked at (we could only dance with 20 people inside and everyone had to wear a mask at all times). But the venue is really pretty. We had our ceremony and reception outside. Amy was great to work with (the coordinator) but unfortunately there was someone else who was there the day-of so there was some miscommunication unfortunately. I would recommend for a small wedding (100 people or less), but I would wait until covid restrictions led up.

Just had my wedding at this cute little winery in Escondido. It was the perfect setting for a small wedding. I had 50 guests attend. The staff was great to work with, and they did a great job setting everything up. My husband, my guest, and I really enjoyed ourselves, and we all highly recommend this location if you are looking for a beautiful hidden gem in Escondido, CA.
