When I got there the owner started out helping me and as soon as she heard my budget (I wanted to keep it around $500) she pretty much just laughed at me and started putting back the few dresses I had picked out to try on - She just said that they were NOT in my price range so I couldn't even try them on. After that my Mom even asked if I could try just one that that we really liked -- the owner just said no and walked away. I was about to walk out the door when Tara came over and asked if she could help - OMG - what a difference - she was soooo nice and helpful! The owner was rude and condescending and nearly made me cry - and I almost didn't buy from them because of her. All I can say is she is fortunate to have Tara (Spelling??) there to make up for what she lacks - Tara was very helpful and I actually ended up purchasing a bridesmaid dress and ordered it in Ivory (I didn't want a train or anything really detailed so it was a good fit for me). Just thought I would note a couple other reasons I didn't want to go to another store was because I didn't want to pay sales tax nor did I want to go to a town further away. I am just so glad I didn't have to have my alterations done there!

t or I wanted something adjusted, she would make great suggestions. Then at the next fitting I would come in and the alterations would not be complete, and she would proceed to try to talk me out of completing that particular alteration when it was her suggestion in the first place. When I came in for what was supposed to be my last fitting, they had not completed all the alterations. When I pointed this out, she asked if I would come back in 20 minutes so the alterations could be completed. If it only took 20 minutes for these alterations to be completed, why didn't she do them in the month in between my fitting appointments? They also didn't adjust my account correctly when I put down a deposit, so it showed that I owed $200 more than I actually did. This did get straightened out, but it was just one more thing I had to worry about. If I had to do it over, I would buy the dress there as they were very helpful with that process, but would take it somewhere else to be altered.

are SO kind and helpful. They know exactly how to help without being pushy or annoying. They all would recognize me by name and make me feel special each time I was there. My dress was my dream come true. They had tons of accessories to choose from (I added a belt!) and gorgeous veils too. The altering was done PERFECTLY by Ms. Char!! She took time with me to make sure everything was to my liking.
We also purchased our bridesmaid dresses there and again, they were more than helpful in finding 3 different types of dresses to accommodate my bridesmaids. I couldn't have been more pleased.

I live several states away from their store and they made sure to get me fittings during the few occasions I was in town. They were very professional and easy to work with. The dress and alterations turned out beautiful!

on in Bemidji that the normally wouldn't have brides come in for appointments, but they worked me around in their schedule and allowed for me to come in earlier in the morning. It worked out great. I actually didn't find MY DRESS in their show room and found it in a different town, but went BACK to Formalities to purchase my dress as they carried Allure gowns. I absolutely wanted to give them my business! They provided a great experience for me, from trying on dresses, purchasing, fittings, alterations, and storage of the gown as well. They knew me by name as well which can go a long way. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend their services to everyone! Wedding gowns, groom wear, bridal party wear, prom dresses/tuxes, etc. And Char does amazing work on the alterations and is extremely well priced!
Was not found at this bridal shop but I did see a lot that caught my eye nice store
They were very nice, I was a walk in customer and and they gave me full attention. I was able to find my dress that day! I also went back and got my bridesmaid dresses there!

disaster. I didn't think a small salon in Bemidji, MN could possibly have what I wanted, but-running out of time-I gave Formalities a shot and found "the one." The dress was a little more than I wanted to spend but was still very affordable.
I also got my tuxes from them, and they were very patient when it came to me getting all the right sizes since most of the groomsmen were out of towners. I had to go into their store with a "terrible-two" year old (who was only actually 17 months,) and the sales girls bore it all with smiles and didn't make me feel unwelcome. They were just great to work with.
I also got my headpiece from them. A beautiful, hand-crafted piece for half off! It was an incredible find and buy!!
Honestly, Formalities deserved a better first impression than I gave them.

dress with a similar style. They then ordered my gown in my size. They were always pleased to see me when I came in. The were never bothered by the fact that I would stop by just to see my dress! The customized my dress to make it fit as if if it had been designed just for me!! I could not have asked for a better experience!! The same goes for my bridesmaid's dresses and their experience with Formalities!! Everyone looked beautiful and felt comfortable in their dresses!! Great!!
