Even before booking with Forsythia, Amy strives to provide her couples with exceptional service as they prepare for their dream day. From a young age, she has enjoyed and valued the beauty of nature in florals , cultivating a passion for design from her early days living in the UK with her gardener Grandfather. Her passion extends beyond from her floral creations into her business practices as she works diligently to ensure that every detail is to her clients’ satisfaction. Welcome Friends! My name is Amy and I’m the owner and floral designer behind Forsythia Florals. A little about me: I have always had a love of people, helping others and creating beautiful things for others to enjoy. Before I began my own company, I worked at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline for 4 years, which allowed me to passionately refine my skill set for customer service, quick-thinking and dedication to everything I touch.
For those 4 years, I guided people on the worst day of their lives. As a florist, I do not take the privilege of celebrating with clients on the best days of their lives lightly. It is an honor to be a part of such joy after figuratively holding the hands of so many who will never be able to experience such happiness. I am so incredibly grateful for the lessons my previous work taught me, it has made me the woman I am today and I choose to live every second of my life to the fullest.
Weddings are a day of joy, celebration and excitement. What an immense pleasure it has been to flower over 400 weddings and metaphorically stand alongside my clients as they embark on the biggest adventure of their lives... marriage!

Hi friends! Originally from the UK, but have lived in Austin for 25 years where I received my Undergrad/Master's degrees (hook 'em!) my journey began when I vowed not to let me BFF overspend on underwhelming floral and it was the catalyst to creating Forsythia. My business is so much more than flowers, I feel enthusiastically passionate about the Austin community where I believe in giving back by partnering annually with North Austin Oncology. Im 2021, I was celebrated as one of Austin’s Leading Women and am a current member of AWPA and KKG Austin area Alumni. I'm so excited to meet you!

as we started messaging, I had to hire her. She was so easy to communicate with, honestly made me feel like I was her only client, that’s how good she was. She met all my expectations and stayed within my narrow budget. About a month before our wedding, my sister died unexpectedly. Amy took pieces of her bridesmaids dress and placed them on our bouquets and also brought me a small disco ball, something to remind me of my sister, who was a real life disco ball and also was obsessed with them. Amy’s special touches, were some of the most impactful parts of my day. Amy turned from a vendor, to a friend. Absolutely amazing, hands down the best florist in the austin area.

She somehow brought to life the floral dream I didn’t even know I had. While I was juggling stress from my planner and family logistics, Amy was the one thing I never had to worry about. Every arrangement was absolutely stunning, and I received countless compliments on how beautiful everything looked. She went above and beyond, even moving and repurposing arrangements throughout the day so everything looked perfect in every space. In the months leading up to the wedding, she was incredibly responsive and patient as I changed my mind (more than once!), always accommodating every little tweak and new idea. I made a Pinterest board of what I liked and sent it to Amy. From there she was so responsive and flexible in changing my vision and gave me her our florist advice. The day of the wedding came and I was absolutely BLOWN away from my florals! She took my vision, elevated it, and made it into real life! She also came to hand deliver my bridal bouquet the morning of the wedding, which was super sweet and a nice moment to have with her. She has the kindest soul and is bubbly! I wish I could have interacted more with her because she was that sweet.
She also did our centerpieces and greenery hanging from the tent, and we got so many compliments from our guests on the florals. Truly was so impressed with Amy. Really if you are thinking about booking with her, do it!!! 10/10 would recommend!!!

I also had one of my bridesmaids who is getting married next year literally send a photo of our flowers to her mom and said, “I want exactly this”. Amy NAILED it with my vision, and I couldn’t be happier. She also worked super closely with our coordinator to get all the tables set up with the right number of candles and votives, so that I didn’t overpay for either of their services. Not only is she great at her craft but also just the sweetest human being ever and always had such nice things to say when we interacted. I only wish I could have taken more florals home with me; they were so beautiful. I have a floral preservation artist that is going to be making me some items with the flowers so I can’t wait to get those back!

Her attention to detail is also unmatched - I was shocked to find a few flowers sitting on top of the water fountain outside the bridal suite, which hardly anyone would see and was also not part of our quote. She is committed to excellent service, too; as we realized the logistical difficulties of transporting our homemade chuppah to and from the venue, she graciously agreed to store it at her house before and after the wedding for an extremely nominal fee. On top of all of that, she was so easy to communicate with, flexible, understanding, and unwaveringly positive - all traits that are so important, but sometimes missing, in a vendor! My only wish is that I had more time to take in all of the design details she and her team created - the chuppah flowers, the aisle markers repurposed as centerpieces, the bud vases on the cocktail tables. But, we have photos incoming to fill in the gaps! We love Amy and can't recommend her highly enough!

atement. I’ll tell you why:
First, her communication was stellar. Anytime I had a question or an idea, she was there to provide input and insight. Last minute inquiries and add-ons were no problem. When I spoke with her, I felt like I was talking to my friend. It was one of the best parts of planning because she was just so sweet and generous with her time and experience. As we neared the end, she always met my frantic energy with grace and a can-do spirit.
Second, her value cannot be understated. If you’re a bride on a budget, you have to be strategic where you spend your money. Amy worked with me to have big picture items without feeling like I had to skimp on others. She worked with me and my budget every step of the way. Two weeks (or maybe even a week) before the wedding, I realized I severely underestimated the number of tables that would need arrangements. Amy worked with me on a beautiful solution that did not detract from what we originally planned for the table arrangements—all within my budget.
Lastly, and most importantly, her VISION and EXECUTION are of the highest order. It is hard to give up control as a bride; with Amy, it was easy. After only a few vision board pictures, emails and phone calls (okay maybe more than just a few), I walked into my wedding stunned and in awe of the florals. Moreover, she made recommendations on other aesthetic aspects that truly helped the florals shine: from candles to votives to table setting. She went above and beyond my inspiration pictures and exceeded every expectation I had.
I can say without a doubt that Forsythia Florals made my wedding day so much more beautiful, full-yet-intimate, vibrant, energetic, and truly joyful than I could have imagined. And if you’re thinking to yourself, they’re just flowers, my pictures (and others) speak for themselves. It was the best money I spent at my wedding. Full stop.

The florals were honestly the best part of our wedding day.
Background
My fiancé and I planned our own wedding, and honestly, finding a florist was difficult. Browsing The Knot and WeddingWire websites wasn't helpful because it was hard to differentiate between florists. We felt like flowers were much more expensive than we originally budgeted for, and we weren't connecting well with many florists. We found the intake forms and wait times for responses long. We also weren't feeling heard about our wedding vision. It surprised us that most florists don't provide floral samples before the wedding day, so it was difficult to trust someone to create our floral vision.
I found Forsythia Florals through our wedding venue's Instagram page. Amy had done a wedding there over the weekend, and we LOVED the flowers, so I sent her a message. Within a day, Amy responded, and within three days, we talked in detail about our vision and completed the contract. After spending nearly two months finding a florist, everything came together in less than a week! We loved how responsive Amy was, and she really took the time to understand our wedding vision and budget. Her kind, calming, and inquisitive demeanor made us immediately trust her. Amy continued to reach out throughout our wedding planning process to check in and ensure she had all the details needed to fulfill our wedding vision.
Not only was the intake process easy, but on our wedding day, Forsythia Florals went above and beyond to make our day special. Our wedding ceremony and reception were outdoors, and there was heavy rainfall and a tornado warning the morning of our wedding. Amy and her team didn't let the weather stop them. They prepared as much of the floral arrangements as they could indoors and worked in the rain to complete the outdoor setup. Amy did this while being eight months pregnant! She is inspiring! I truly appreciate her leadership, strong work ethic, and perseverance throughout the day. Thank you so much to Forsythia Florals. I wish Amy continued success in her business. I would 100% recommend them!
