Fox Meadow Barn at Cloverdale Farm

Where do I start with Fox Meadow Barn and the owner, Dixie?! From my first tour, Dixie was incredibly accommodating. Due to the venue being 2 hours away from me and the fall being peak season, I needed to tour during the week around 7:00 PM. Unfortunately, my husband couldn’t make that tour and I was unable to FaceTime him. Once again, Dixie accommodated us and let us do a self-guided tour the day before Thanksgiving. Just like me, my husband immediately loved it and wanted to call Dixie to book. We needed to come home and look at some more details before moving forward and Dixie never once pressured us. I reached out to 100+ venues across Virginia, DC, and Maryland, and many people were focused on sales and made me feel like just a number. Dixie made me feel like family! After booking, Dixie provided me with a ton of resources — a day of timeline example, a spreadsheet with vendors for everything imaginable, photos, and videos. No matter how many times I emailed or texted, Dixie responded within hours or less. She made being a DIY bride and planning my own wedding a breeze! In fact, because of Dixie and how much I enjoyed planning my wedding, I am strongly considering entering the wedding industry part time as a planner or coordinator. I cannot recommend Dixie and Fox Meadow Barn enough! I was not a barn bride until discovering Fox Meadow Barn. It is absolutely gorgeous!

If you're in the process of planning your wedding, or other large event, Fox Meadow Barn is an absolutely fantastic venue! Dixie is such a sweetheart and willing to work with you to make the most out of your event. She is very responsive and incredibly helpful. My husband and I are not from the Winchester area, so having Dixie's thorough contact/vendor list was absolutely essential to us during our planning process. The venue itself is kept in very good condition, with upgrades continuing to trickle in. Lighting and temperature controls were available to us as the hosts to set to our liking and could be adjusted throughout the event. The barn is very versatile in the way that it can be made up to be very rustic, traditional, or more modern! The location is very conveniently close to the downtown area where the hotels and restaurants, but just far enough away so your event still feels very private. The price was definitely reasonable and good for those who want more freedom with which vendors they want to book. Dixie also offered a ton of customizable options allowing you to work within a budget. Overall, we had an absolutely beautiful wedding at the end of May. Our guests had an amazing time and loved the venue! The scenery was breathtaking and allows for some amazing wedding photos, especially around golden hour. I highly recommend Dixie and her business, she is good people!!

I had my wedding reception at Fox Meadow Barn and it was absolutely perfect! From the moment I reached out to Dixie, the owner and manager, I knew I had made the right choice. She was so easy to work with and always responded quickly to all my questions. Not only that, she provided resources to help me find vendors for all the services I needed. She truly goes above and beyond for her clients! The venue itself was beautiful and so well maintained. We especially loved the covered patio for our guests to enjoy cocktail hour and a break from the dancefloor. On top of that, the cows on the neighboring farm even seemed to want to join in the wedding celebration and came as close to the barn as possible. It was so cute and made for the perfect backdrop for our pictures. I would give Fox Meadow Barn 5 stars for their amazing service and beautiful venue. I am so happy I chose them for my wedding and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for an amazing wedding venue!

We had a fantastic November 2023 wedding at Fox Meadow Barn! Dixie was so easy to work with and this place is such a beautiful venue even with minimal decor. They have so many 'freebie' items you can use on site to spruce it up as well. Would absolutely recommend if you're looking for a standalone venue that will let you bring in any vendors you want!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Fox Meadow, and couldn’t be happier! The venue is gorgeous, with a perfect balance of class and rustic charm to fit our vision. The property is well maintained, and we were very pleased with the amenities. I loved that I could decorate simply and let the venue’s built in beauty shine! Dixie is a joy to work with, allowing us many opportunities to visit the venue ahead of the big day, and offering numerous resources and references, to vendors, insurance, etc. The property has a lovely, private atmosphere, but is close to town for last minute errands. We are so happy we chose this venue for our big day!

I cannot say enough good things about Fox Meadow!! Dixie, the owner, was so easy to work with. She was very transparent about costs and what would be included. Accessing the property before the wedding was super easy and convenient and made the actual wedding day much easier. It's a truly stunning venue and the location is so convenient to downtown Winchester. Our wedding was truly magical and Fox Meadow played such a big role in making our wedding dreams come true!!

Fox Meadow Barn is an absolutely gorgeous venue that I would recommend for anyone to book. Dixie is amazing to work with and gave me tons of information which helped me so much with my planning process which made the day of the wedding go by flawlessly! The outdoor ceremony area has a perfect view and the barn itself is stunning, leaving my guests impressed. There’s a bridal suite we got ready in which is a bit small if you have a large bridal party but it was perfect for us as I had a smaller wedding party, but I believe they have plans to build a separate bridal suite in the future, regardless it was a huge help being able to get ready and also oversee the set up of everything.

We had our wedding recently at FMB and it was an absolute dream!! Dixie made sure we knew everything we needed to know and was a joy to work with! The barn has so many things to offer and everything needed for a perfect day. I can't recommend Fox Meadow enough!

Dixie is a joy to work with! She made things very simple and provided many resources to help planning THAT much easier. She provided a list of vendors she has worked with before, which helped me find the perfect vendors! Her venue is gorgeous, and I knew the first time I saw it I wanted to make sure my wedding took place there. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a lovely, rustic barn with gorgeous views!

I could not have asked for a more beautiful venue for my wedding! Fox Meadow Barn is naturally so stunning and Dixie was so wonderful and easy to work with. This venue allowed us to truly make the place exactly what we wanted. The great thing about this venue is that we were able to choose all of our own vendors, decorate how we wanted, and have so much fun with all of our guests. Our wedding was on a Saturday, and we got super lucky with no one booking for Friday night. For a small extra fee, we bought Friday night to set up and that was a HUGE stress relief for Saturday. We were able to have the venue all day Friday to set up which was amazing. They are very upfront about having tours during the mornings, so I didn't mind at all. There were a few people around for just a very short amount of time. They were all super respectful and weren't in the way any. I planned my own wedding and it was great being able to contact Dixie with any questions but being able to choose and do the things I wanted. If you are looking for that kind of wedding process, this is definitely an amazing venue to do that! If you want the venue to plan things for you/have staff that works at the venue during the wedding, this would not be the venue you want as the staff does not work during the wedding. You can pay a little extra for set-up, but there is not a staff for during the wedding. Again, though, we were totally okay with that and instead, I hired a day-of-coordinator! It was a perfect day and I could not have asked for a more beautiful venue or kinder people to work with!

Look no further for a wedding venue- this is the one! Fox Meadow Barn was perfect for our big day. Dixie is fantastic to work with and is very proactive in passing along information to ensure all your venue needs are met (and offers great recommendations on other local vendors). The barn is a gorgeous space, as are the outdoor patio and ceremony areas. We couldn't have been happier with the setting for our wedding.

I can't recommend Fox Meadow Barn enough! We had such an awesome experience from our first meeting with Dixie. Dixie is so personable, accommodating, flexible, informative, etc. Everything you would want in a wedding venue. The venue itself is gorgeous - we got SO MANY compliments about every component of the venue. And we've actually had two friends choose to get married here too after seeing our wedding! We liked the "hands-off" approach their team took, but note that it will require a bit more attention and planning from you personally. But it was great for us to be able to make every decision ourselves! You won't regret getting married here, it's a beautiful spot owned by a group of people who want you to have the best wedding day ever! Thank you Dixie & Fox Meadow Barn!

This venue was truly so magical. The set up was perfect, elegant, and one of a kind. Dixie is amazing to work with — so kind, quick responding, and understandable. Dixie and the venue are everything a bride could wish for on her wedding day. Photos do not do the venue enough justice with its beauty. 100% recommend this venue to ANYONE.

This was an amazing venue, the facility is beautiful and no stone is left unturned in terms of what any wedding needs. The owners were absolutely amazing, answering all and any questions and doing the best job to help streamline the process of the wedding as well as access to a decent series of wedding decorations and options.

Very professional. Responded to every question I had with respect, clarity, and in reasonable timing. The venue itself is just absolutely beautiful inside and out. We loved the covered patio it helped give us more space so we could move tables and chairs from the ceremony set up to the reception set up!

Fox Meadow was such a lovely venue to have our wedding at. The design of the space is absolutely lovely. The chandeliers and stone fireplace are absolutely gorgeous. The new pagoda area came in handy for our cocktail hour in the August sun. Everyone absolutely loved our venue. Dixie was a treat to work with; professional and helpful from the start. She gave us vendor contacts and timeline samples which were extremely helpful in all the planning. She was always clear with what steps were needed on our end and was very communicative. Cant recommend this venue enough!

I just had my wedding on 9.9.22, and there are no words to describe how beautiful Fox meadows barn is. The location is breathtaking and it will be an unforgettable location for my husband and I. If you are thinking of looking into this venue, look no more. This is the spot. We also cannot emphasize how great and amazing Dixie is (venue owner). She is one of the greatest people we know. She was great with communication and also is great with keeping Fox meadows beautiful. We are eternally grateful!

We have nothing but great things to say about Fox Meadow Barn and the owner, Dixie! We just had our wedding here a couple of weeks ago and we couldn't imagine a more perfect venue for our wedding. We first reached out to Dixie about hosting our wedding at Fox Meadow Barn about a year ago when we first started planning. Once we saw the venue we knew it would be perfect for us- beautiful views, all in one venue with beautiful ceremony area, cool paved outside area for cocktail hour (since has been further upgraded with a beautiful atrium covering!), and large parking lot for easy access. Not to mention Winchester is a great wedding location, tons of lodging options and a beautiful downtown area that lends to a fun whole wedding weekend. On the day of we got absolutely beautiful weather- sunny and beautiful all through the day and the ceremony, creating for some beautiful pictures out in the field ceremony area. Eventually we got a bit of rain that came in at the perfect time, just as the cocktail hour was ending, and we got to watch a beautiful summer shower from the safety of the barn and the windowed atrium. Thank you Dixie for letting us use your beautiful venue for our big day! We've received so many compliments about how beautiful the venue was and we couldn't be happier with our decision to host our wedding there!

Fox Meadows Barn is a beautiful place inside and out and the perfect place to have a wedding or really any event! The venue is well kept and clean. The owner Dixie was wonderful and answered my emails very quickly, answering any questions we had. She sent us several useful tips, ideas, and vendors to help with the wedding planning process and help ease the stress. There’s nothing I would change. Absolutely wonderful!

The space is beautiful, but thankfully there are a lot of beautiful venues in Virginia! -- I'd advise you pick a different one. The venue owner Dixie is unprofessional and manipulative. When we needed to work through any kind of problem with her, it was a major event and left us exhausted. I have so many Dixie stories, here are a few samples. The week of our wedding, she told us she had added a pergola to the venue... but she didn't have the electricity set up yet. So it was an unfinished, dark space that wasn't there when we toured and signed our contract. She took no responsibility for this. I asked if she could please put up string lights or something -- she said no, and sent me a rambling email that included, among other tidbits, her own complaints about how high taxes are. It was unprofessional and weird -- and was not even the first time she complained to us, the bride and groom, about her taxes. The morning of our wedding, one of our vendors dropped off some items we rented an hour earlier than he was supposed to. Dixie flipped out and started angrily texting my husband - on the morning of his wedding - that we should switch to paper plates, we would need to rent a U-Haul to get all of these items out in time that night, etc. Thankfully my husband is a calm person and we didn't get riled up, but for someone else, that manufactured, early-morning crisis could have added a lot of panic and negative emotion to a special day we had been planning for years. It seemed like Dixie booked too many weddings that weekend, and then took her own stress out on us. I'd suggest to Dixie that she hire someone to take over day-to-day management of the venue and communications with couples, or that she seek some professional guidance on how to improve her client communication skills.

We loved this venue and especially loved Dixie! First it's important to mention — we're a lesbian couple and felt fully safe and seen from beginning to end. If you're looking for a gay-friendly venue in Winchester, this is a great option. Also, it was an accessible space which was really important to us. We had everything we needed and more. The large kitchen was helpful. The view from the ceremony space is absolutely stunning. The additions to the patio are really nice, too. We were very comfortable — the lights are all on dimmers leaving lots of flexibility to set the mood. We saved a lot of money because of bringing our own alcohol and returning most of what we didn't use. The temperature was very comfortable and Dixie was super flexible and relaxed as far as helping us make the space work for us and our vendors. There are doors and windows everywhere so you could totally open up everything and make it extra covid-safe. The only things that would make the space better would be an accessible path to the ceremony space (Dixie showed us a path to use to drive in grandma which worked okay) and the ability to play music outside later into the evening (we couldn't do the dance party outside and would have liked to). But these were minor and over all the venue was just what we wanted. Would recommend!

We first met Dixie in fall of 2019 when booking our March 2020 wedding. Two scheduling changes later, we were finally able to celebrate on a gorgeous evening at Fox Meadow Barn in November 2021. Dixie was terrific to work with over those two years. She was responsive, understanding and flexible. And her venue only got prettier as our date approached! Our pictures turned out so well because of the gorgeous Appalachian scenery and the lovely barn. For us the place was just-right -- it's a barn but it includes modern amenities that's just rustic enough. We would highly recommend getting married at Fox Meadow Barn.

This venue is beautiful inside and out! We had a November wedding and still insisted on some outdoor photos because we loved the patio/lights. The inside has an upscale barn look with all of the commodities (lights/ac/heat/bathrooms). I did minimal decorations because the venue spoke for itself. The kitchen and back entry were perfect for our vendors. Dixie was flexible when we had to postpone our wedding (Dec. 2020 to Nov. 2021) and I am so thankful for her!

Fox Meadow is perfect. I got married there in late November 2021. We had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at their rustic outdoor space (though a little chilly on our wedding day, but we pushed through!). It has a beautiful background behind the arch including the farm field and distant trees. It was perfect for photos and ideal for those wanting a modern farm rustic venue. The barn was equally as beautiful with the stone fireplace, wooden beams, tulle and string lights, and a chandelier and was the perfect size for our 140 guests. This venue does not provide decorations, food or bar service supplies, but we actually preferred the flexibility of choosing everything on our own. The owner, Dixie, is so personable and very accommodating throughout the whole process. The price is very reasonable. I would recommend this location to anyone!

Beautiful venue and amazing staff - Dixie was so great to work with. We recently held our wedding here, but were planning from out of state. Dixie was so helpful with answering our questions, taking videos of the space for reference, and quick to answer my many emails! The venue was gorgeous and is very versatile in regards to what kind of ceremony you are hoping to have with indoor and outdoor options. The venue itself is naturally gorgeous so a little decor goes a long way!

My husband and I LOVED everything about Fox Meadow. Dixie is such a wonderful person, she helped us as much as should could. This location was convenient for our friends and family to find. The views were incredible. The building it self had compliments all night from our guest. Dixie provided so many building decorations that we did not have to supply much of our own, just our own small personal touches. My husband and I paid for our wedding alone and Dixie was fantastic working financially with us! I will always recommend this place to others.

Fox Meadow barn was by far the most stunning venue I could imagine! Very cost effective and so beautful that very little decorating needs to be done! With lovely bathrooms, a kitchen and a patio this "Barn style venue" is very classy! Dixie, the owner is wonderful and very responsive and helpful - she let me do multiple walkthroughs which I appreciated!

Fox Meadow Barn is a WONDERFUL venue for weddings, special events, and more! As a wedding videographer, I had the privilege of filming one of the earliest weddings held at this venue. Fox Meadow Barn is in a wonderful location near Winchester, VA. The venue is easy to get to, and once there, you are surrounded by the beautiful countryside with rolling hills in the background. The venue is newer and modern, allowing for both heating and air conditioning, which definitely gives it some brownie points. =) The large stone fireplace and wood work on the interior of the barn are VERY NICELY done! Dixie Scheulen is friendly, professional, and the proud owner of this venue. You should give her a call! I know she will go ABOVE and BEYOND to make your experience at Fox Meadow Barn one you will remember for years to come!

I was blessed to be able to have my wedding at the Fox Meadow Barn. It was a great place to have all my friends and family on my special day. The area was beautiful and serene. All the amenities were available and clean. It didn't take many decors to make the place beautiful, there were lots of decorations already available. The location is perfect, the place is perfect. Dealing with Dixie, the owner, was very easy and she's super helpful and nice. I definitely recommend this venue for any of your future events.

The venue was so beautiful and perfect for us. Dixie was so helpful through out the whole process. I loved that she has a bridal room for us to get ready in. And the photography came out beautifully. The scenery is so gorgeous with the venue.

We are so glad we found Fox Meadow Barn for our Covid friendly wedding. It was the perfect space to have either a smaller wedding or our orginial guest list of 130. It's a beautiful venue only 10 minutes to downtown Winchester which is very convienient for hotels. Dixie the owner is very responsive to any questions. The venue is DIY so you get to pick your own catering, bar stuff, decorations, etc. You can rent tables and chairs through them for a very reasonable price. Definitely recommend!

Loved loved loved this venue!! As a young bride, i was extremely stressful and anxious about finding a venue that is beautiful and within my budget and that would have a kind venue host. Dixie made my experience AMAZING. Seriously. She was so sweet, extremely helpful and a fast responder. She made my wedding experience 100x less stressful than It would’ve been if I went somewhere else. She was super flexible and just the best! Fox Meadow Barn is a great venue for a wedding! Dixie (venue host) is very easy to work with and always helpful and accommodating. The space is fairly large with a good size kitchen area as well as a grooms room, brides room and men's and women's bathrooms. Parking is plentiful and the venue was easy for guests to find. The patio area would be great for warmer weather, but the scenery out the windows is nice anytime of the year. I highly recommend booking a wedding at Fox Meadow.

She was always quick to respond to questions I may have had and was always flexible when allowing me to visit the venue. Fox Meadow Barn was the ideal place for our wedding and we are so thankful we chose this place. Close to town (Winchester) but still the feel of the country. Modern amenities yet still a barn feel with all the exposed beams. Beautiful lighting and many on site decorations already fit exactly what we were looking for. We recently had our wedding at Fox Meadows Barn after our first venue canceled. With extremely short notice, they were so helpful, accommodating and kind and made our wedding so special!! The venue is absolutely gorgeous and the landscape made our pictures so perfect! I would recommend this venue to anyone for any event!

This venue was absolutely beautiful and exactly what my Husband and I could have hoped for. Dixie was amazing throughout the whole process being flexible, kind, easy and fast to communicate with. She was even willing to help us out on our wedding day with little last minute things we needed! I had an amazing wedding experience at Fox Meadow Barn! My husband and I were one of the first couples to book the new venue and got to experience it come together beautifully. We loved working with Dixie to create our dream wedding. She was always super quick to respond to emails and was extremely flexible with letting us come visit the venue many times before the wedding. Since we weren't able to book the venue the day before, Dixie was kind enough to let me pop by the Thursday before with some people to show them how I'd like it decorated on the day of. Dixie's venue also provided lots of decor, wine barrels, and large troughs for drinks. I loved having the bridal room to get ready in. It was so cute and just the right size! My favorite aspect of this venue though was the ease of being able to switch to an indoor ceremony if it rained. It saved me A LOT of stress leading up to the big day. In the end it was a beautiful day and wedding and I'd highly recommend this venue to anyone!!

I can't begin to say enough good things about Fox Meadow Barn.  I held a surprise 40th birthday party for my husband, and the venue was just perfect. Literally every guest commented on how beautiful it was.  From the inside accommodations to the outside views, there is nothing that I wished was different.  It was SO nice not to have to worry about the weather (too hot or too cold or rainy or too windy), or having to bring in restrooms (so clean!), or having to use outside rental companies for tables.  Their attention to details with having a kitchen on site was SO helpful for storing ice and drinks ahead of time. Fox Meadow had EVERYTHING available for us, even a last minute tent to shade the bluegrass band outside. We had ~200 guests, and there was plenty of room for the 60+ kids to run around with flat areas for multiple bounces houses and yard games, and lots of space inside and out for people to mingle. Dixie (owner) was also so enjoyable to work with.  She responded so quickly to any emails I sent her, was organized, on time, and just a overall very friendly person! She seemed genuinely excited about my event, which I appreciated.I would recommend this venue to anyone.  It's a beautiful setting, close to town, and has everything anyone would need for a special day!

We held our event at Fox Meadow Barn for 85 people and have nothing but amazing things to say about the Barn and Dixie, who is the owner. From start to finish of planning the event, everything was made extremely easy for us. Dixie handled everything above and beyond our expectations. She was there for every question and idea we had along the way, but also gave us the freedom to plan and execute the event in the exact way that we wanted. She handled the majority of the process (and had excellent communication with me along the entire way) and I was able to add my final touches in the way that I wanted to, without feeling like I was intruding on the space, but rather making it my own for the day of the event. The attendees had nothing but rave reviews as well. Dixie designed the barn to offer modern amenities (indoor plumbing, heat, AC) while still offering the rustic craftmanship, yet romantic charm, in a beautiful rural setting. The views are truly one of a kind! The gleaming chandeliers, with the backdrop of a gorgeous floor to ceiling stone fireplace, are something that you have to see in person to appreciate. I love that this event space can be dressed up or down in whatever capacity desired, to match the ambiance of the event! If you are planning a wedding or event, I 100% suggest you look into Fox Meadow Barn before settling!

I met Dixie through Claire at Cloverdale. She told me they were opening a new venue. I followed along through the build and watched as it was constructed. It was more beautiful in person than I could have imagined and love that we have such a modern farmhouse type venue in Winchester. I recently planned and photographed a styled shoot at Fox Meadow Barn with some of the best wedding professionals in the area and could not be more pleased with the outcome. The venue is gorgeous and can be utilized for any type of event, indoor, outdoor with sunsets on the deck and mountain views. It's a must see!
