Franklintown Inn is a mansion wedding venue located in Gwynn Oak, MD. Franklintown Inn was built as a social establishment for the upper-class community in the early 19th century. Members of the local elite would meet here during racing season to mingle. Established by William Freeman, the house was part of the Franklintown community, which is known as one of the first suburban neighborhoods in the country. The area was first developed due to an important road that crossed the space into Baltimore. The Franklin Turnpike was built in 1827 so farmers who worked outside the city could bring their goods to the urban community. Later, a race course was constructed in the area and became a popular hangout during its yearly week of racing. The neighborhood continued developing and is now a quaint community nestled in the suburbs of Baltimore. The inn is surrounded by beautiful gardens and is available for weddings during the months of March to October. If you are hosting a smaller wedding, you can avail of the ballroom space. Here, you and 85 of your nearest and dearest can dance the night away among a vintage backdrop. The lounge function room also boasts a historic aesthetic and is ideal for small gatherings of 55 guests. Its warm wood bar, sound system, and stage can accommodate weddings and related celebrations.
