LOVE the FADs Belmont studio and instructors. I have been working with Cameron for several months and he is amazing. Perfect for wedding lessons or for getting a feel for ballroom dance. As a newcomer to this type of dancing it has been a very welcoming environment. Check them out soon!
My husband and I took about 20 lessons at Fred Astaire Belmont in preparation for our wedding. We had essentially no prior dance experience, but our teacher Kendall choreographed and taught us a beautiful routine that impressed everyone! The 10 lesson wedding package would have been sufficient, but we started early and had such a great time at the studio that we did extra. In addition to the private lessons we attended group classes and practice parties. All of the staff were so nice and really wanted to help us learn dance (beyond just our wedding moves, though Kemar taught us several lifts for that). Highly recommend!
We did the first free lesson/consult with Chris and had an amazing experience! Chris was extremely friendly and made us feel at ease even though we knew absolutely nothing. He taught up some basic steps in the main room at the same time that another class was going on, but it worked out really well because the space was large enough. 10/10 would recommend to any couple preparing for their wedding!
One of my wife's must haves for our wedding was dance lessons. Both of us were novices and we just wanted to make sure we didn't fall down. A couple months before our wedding, I bought a groupon for Fred Astaire Dance Studio as a way to try out the dance lessons. The groupon gave us four lessons - two private and two group.
The group classes were a great way to start and experience a couple of different dances. These classes generally consisted our 4-5 couples, who were also at a similar beginner level, which helped reduce any pressure about dancing well.
For the private lessons, we were assigned Jacqueline as our teacher. She was excellent. We went from having no clue what we were doing to feeling totally comfortable at our wedding and specifically our first dance.
We enjoyed the groupon classes that that we purchased another set of classes (their wedding package) that consisted of another 10 private classes. We had picked Ben Fold's The Luckiest for our first song and Jacqueline worked with us to pick an appropriate dance style (Rhumba) to match it. The lessons were approximately 45 minutes, which were long enough for Jacqueline to teach us a new move and us to become comfortable performing it. After the 10 lessons, we had learned an opening and a finishing move to our dance routine plus at least 5 different moves. In addition to attending the private lessons, we were also able to go to any group classes for free, which were a great way to practice the new moves we had learned.
At our wedding, we had so much fun preforming in front of everyone. And afterwards, we recieved several compliments about our first dance from family and friends. It was such a rewarding experience.
We were so happy with how the lessons turned out that we're going to purchase another set of classes to continue after we're married so that we can learn other types of dances. The classes are expensive, but comparable or even cheaper than other studios. We felt they were worth the money and we can't wait to continue with Jacqueline. The other teachers, who we met through the group classes were also equally very helpful and really made us feel at ease.
Vince was wonderful! He taught us basic steps for all major ballroom dancing, then helped us decide what to use for our wedding song. He was so much fun to work with and the rate was extremely affordable.
We only went because we had a groupon. Once the groupon expired we were offered additional classes, but they were a minimum of $500. We opted to end the classes, but did learn some great tips in the lessons that we had!
The teachers at Fred Astaire really helped us improve our dancing, and gave us a routine that we felt confident to dance. We had fun and danced well!
We got lessons here off of groupon and ended up buying a package as well. My husband and I are good dancers in one genre, but we felt like we needed more so that we could be better in other areas (waltz and polka to be exact!). We had a blast with the instructors (we actually had two) and will go back for more lessons in the future. We ended up botching our waltz (oops), but our polka was a big hit! We recommend this place to anyone needing to learn how to dance, or to get a refresher!
