Fred Astaire Dance Studio West Chester

My husband and I wanted something to do something nice for our first dance but neither of us had any experience. Luckily, the wonderful instructors here were more than capable of taking us on! We worked with Sergei specifically; he was amazingly patient and encouraging. He even helped us and found a better version of the song we wanted (original: Fly Me to the Moon, new: Fly Me to the Moon/Lucky mashup)! Sergei did so well in teaching us that he even let us use our last lesson to help teach my father how to dance so we wouldn't flub the Father-Daughter dance. I can't express how thankful we are to have found this studio. The people are so welcoming and astounding. If you want to impress your friends and family I highly recommend coming here!

We took lessons with Daria leading up to our wedding and had a fantastic experience! She was very patient with us and made the lessons a lot of fun. Our guests absolutely LOVED our first dance. Our officiant even said that of all the first dances he has witnessed, ours was in the top 3. I highly recommend Fred Astaire, especially Daria!

John and I had such an amazing time with Daria learning how to dance for our wedding! She created a beautiful choreographed routine for our First Dance song! Both of us had no idea what we were doing, and she gave of confidence while having fun at the same time! Everyone absolutely loved our dance and could not stop talking about how well we did! We can not thank Daria enough for her patience and talent! We will definitely be back for another special occasion!

Sergei is the man!!!!!! We absolutely LOVED working with Sergei every week. It was so sad when our time was over and we didn't get to spend our weekly visits with him! I surprised my husband by getting a Groupon for Fred Astaire. I had been reading all of the brides saying how choreographing their first dance was one of the best decisions they made. I figured we could try out a lesson with the Groupon and decide if we wanted to fully commit or not. If worse came to worse, I figured we had fun taking a couple of lessons. Of course we loved our first appointment with Sergei and immediately booked our weekly sessions with him! We procrastinated a bit so we started about two months out from our wedding. When I called she kindly told me that we better get moving if we wanted to be ready for our wedding day. lol. We were looking to merge two songs together into one dance. We gave Sergei the time stamps of the songs and he arranged a beautiful dance for us with the perfect blend of both songs. We worked hard week after week and felt like contestants on dancing with the stars. Once Sergei suggested we video ourselves and watch it in between visits, it made a huge difference! It was very difficult remembering if we were doing the steps correctly just from our memory. We continued to add on new sections week after week until we finally put everything together. The week leading up to our wedding we did a practice run in front of everyone at the studio that night. It was very stressful with everyone watching us but fun. The whole idea is to get you used to people watching you perform the dance. I really wanted Sergei to be there on our wedding night like you would see your childhood dance instructor on the side of the stage at your dance recital. lol. He was there in spirit! My husband had a heart attack when he saw how ginormous my wedding gown was. He said, "how are we going to do this with this dress?!?!?!" I told him that I showed Sergei from the beginning and that we should be able to make it happen! lol I think we did Sergei proud! If it wasn't for COVID, we could have gone to show him our video by now! We highly recommend Fred Astaire Dance Studio. They are all extremely professional and hard-working. They work with you to pay for your lessons as you go versus one lump sum when you sign your contract. They put the music together for you and create a dance perfect for you and your dance partner. Sergei was kind, patient and professional as he worked with us to be the best dancers we could be. He is absolutely the best! Thank you so much, Sergei!

Worked with Alexi for our first dance for our wedding in August 2019. We only had 1 month to get down a routine. Although I had some prior dance experience, my husband had no experience and Alexi was VERY patient with him. Alexi was very polite and funny. He made the whole dance lesson more enjoyable and we ended up sweeping everyone away with our dance. We were nervous about our performance in front of the whole studio, but it definitely helped to calm our nerves for the big day. Everyone there, including Dasha , was so nice and welcoming to the studio. I have already recommended my sister-in-law and her fiance and would recommend again!

We love this place! We had our first dance choreographed as well as mine and my father’s and we practiced for months and were ready for wedding day. They helped us every step of the way adding sweet touches and lifts that made our dance so memorable. We received so many compliments. The band at our wedding said it was the best first dance they’d ever seen. The instructors were so patient, professional and kind. They were encouraging and are so talented! My father & I wanted to do a fun dance for our father/daughter dance at my wedding. As neither of us are professional dancers - we knew we would need ALOT of help, patience, practice, and choreography help! We wanted to start with a more traditional dance to frank sinatra and then break out into a disco upbeat dance in the middle. Fred Astaire Dance studio completely blew away our expectations. They created a custom choreographed dance for us, edited the music we could give to our DJ, and helped us every "step" of the way :) We had a lesson once a week for 3 months until the wedding. The end result completely exceeded our expectation and all of our guests were so surprised and delighted. Everyone at Fred Astaire completely went above and beyond what we would have expected by making us ALWAYS feel welcomed (when it can be intimidating to be around such talented dancers). They always welcomed us to the dance floor for practice time and to their monthly parties in the studio where everyone can dance together. Both my father and I are hoping to continue with lessons in the future at this studio because it's an amazing environment. Their professionalism & kindness during this experience will never be forgotten. Sergi you rock!! Thank you again!!

Can not recommend this place enough! My husband and I fell in love with Dasha , Katya, and the whole staff right from the start ! They love what they do, they are absolutely incredible, and we looked forward to going and learning our dance with them all weekly ! Our guests were blown away at our surprise dance and we can’t stop watching our video over and over! We looked forward to our lesson as a date each week as we inches closer - with all of the stress of planning a wedding, this was the one part of the process that was just fun and simply so wonderful! We fully trusted and loved everyone here ! We also want to go back for more date nights! It’s a blast !!!!

I do not even know how to begin. My husband I originally looked into dance lessons just to get a few steps and so I would not step on his feet. We could not be more pleasantly surprised with this dance studio. Our dance turned out perfectly and it was so much fun working with the studio and Sergei. He was there every step of the way with us and created a beautiful piece that our friends and family could not even believe we pulled off. We were lucky enough to have Sergey as our instructor and he choreographed the most PERFECT first dance to our song. He was patient, kind, and incredibly generous with his time. People asked us about our dance all night and gave us compliment after compliment. We HIGHLY recommend all of Fred Astaire West Chester, as they are so warm and friendly, and make you feel welcome immediately. We are especially grateful for Sergey, however. He made our lessons fun and we shared many laughs with him! STRONGLY recommend FADS West Chester for dance lessons!!!!

I dont know where to begin. I purchased the groupon as a Christmas gift for my dad. We decided to purchase more lessons as well so we could practice for our father daughter dance for my wedding on 9/14/18. It was the best experience we had. Dasha and Dmitry both made it a wonderful experience and were very accommodating. With Dashas expertise she put together a special father daughter dance that we could both do and also had fun learning at the same time. Doing this definitely was a great choice and a lot of fun. My husband and I took lessons at Fred Astaire and loved every minute of our experience. My dad and I learned our father-daughter dance at Fred Astaire too and we rocked because of Dasha's training! My finance and I are current students, practicing for the first dance at our wedding in November. We have loved working with Dasha and Alex, and I am amazed after every lesson at how far we've come since we started in September. Honestly everyone at the studio is incredibly nice and helpful. My fiancé and I both had two left feet that never seemed to be in sync. When we decided that we wanted to coordinate a wedding dance, we took trial lessons at a couple of dance studios in the area but felt a connection with the Fred Astaire family. Dmitry had so much patience with us and before long we had our dance!! We not only have our wedding dance but we have the confidence to dance to all types of music!!!

We went from having never done any ballroom dancing to surprising our whole wedding party with a custom choreographed first dance in just 6 weeks thanks to Dmitry and Dasha! These two made the process fun and gave us the confidence we needed to put on a show! We've also attended one of their group dance parties and have plans to go back for more lessons!

My husband and I took classes before our wedding and had such an amazing experience. Dasha, Dimitri and Alex were phenomenal. They coreographed a beautiful dance for us with dips, spins, lifts and twirls and we looked AMAZING on our big day. The lessons were a great date night once a week leading up to the wedding as well. Besides getting to marry my best friend , and wearing a gorgeous dress... these dance lessons and our dance was my favorite part about our wedding!

I came to the studio one day to try a complementary lesson for our first dance on our wedding reception. I never danced before in my life, and was apprehensive about the process. However, after our first lesson with Alex, I was eager to come back and take on more lessons to develop the entire choreography for our first dance! Alex was a very patient, funny, and overall positive dance instructor to us. Thanks to him, I have a newfound appreciation for dancing!

My now wife and I are not dancers. We were nervous about our first dance and decided we should give dance lessons a shot. Let me tell you.... it was the single most fun and stress relieving thing we did leading up to the wedding!! Dasha, Dmitry and Alex were unbelievably welcoming and helpful from the first phone call all the way to post wedding congrats email! We had a chance to take lessons with all three of these amazing instructors and we were absolutely thrilled with our experience each time. They listened to our song and put together a beautiful dance for us. With each lesson, our confidence soared, thanks to their great coaching. Leading up to our big day, they edited our song to the the appropriate length for the DJ and drilled us on our steps until we could do it in our sleep. My wife and I are stressful people but one thing we did not stress about was our dance! Please please please take these lessons leading up to your big day! It will be some of the most fun you have and also an intimate escape with your loved one during such a hectic time. Thank you Dasha, Dmitry and Alex! We will be back for more!

We signed up for the introductory classes and couldn't resist signing up for more. The instructors are incredibly kind and helpful too. My fiancee never felt comfortable on the dance floor and now he can't stop asking me to dance! We hope to keep coming back even after our wedding.

Our first meeting with Roman. He is very knowledgeable in all things dance. On the very first meeting we got straight to learning a few different dance steps. Once we decided to go with the studio Jess was our teacher. They quickly had a dance plan for us . Not only did we learn our wedding dance we also learned social dance steps to use for every day. We did a total of 10 dance lessons in a little over a month. They were very flexible with our schedules and having evening hours really helped us get our lessons in. Would highly reccomend.
