Fred Astaire Dance Studio West Side

Talia was an excellent instructor for my father/daughter wedding dance. My father and I had 0 experience dancing and one- double lesson to learn a quick routine as I don't live in nyc and was in town for one day. Talia immediately put us at ease and taught us some easy moves that made us look and feel like we knew what we were doing! I highly recommend a visit here.

We love this place! Not only did they take us from zero to competent in a couple of months, but our instructor spent time listening to our song and choreographed a custom routine for us! Our first dance was a big hit at the wedding. The teachers and quality of instruction at Fred Astaire UWS got us really excited about continuing with Dance-- we now have a new hobby together! A big thank you to Talia and the rest of the instructors (all of whom are amazing to watch perform, btw!) for making us feel so at home from the start. We'll see you all at the studio soon!

My wife and I got married back in May. She's a professional dancer, but I'm not, so we needed to get some lessons in so I could at the very least not mess up our first dance. We were lucky enough to get Ivan as our teacher, and he was perfect for us. Very nice guy, and very good teacher. We started off with him teaching me a few basic steps, and then moved on to learning our actual wedding dance. We decided to to a choreographed dance, when I realized I'd probably just lead us in circles for four minutes, and that's no fun at all. Ivan was able to choreograph a great piece to the song of our choice. We had a great time working with him, and can't recommend him and the studio enough for wedding dance training. Oh, and we also worked with Anna once when Ivan thought it would be best to have a second set of eyes on the dance, and she was just as good as he was.

We are having a great time learning to dance for our wedding! Our instructor, Talia, is very professional and helpful. She choreographed a routine specifically for us and our song. Even as a beginner dancer, she makes the steps easy to learn and is very encouraging.

My wife and I were fortunate to receive an engagement gift for dance lessons at FA Dance Studio on the UWS. From the moment we went in, the staff were very lovely, and we were paired with Anna. We think Anna is great, she matched our style and we hit it off instantly. (All the teachers seem great with their students but we're a bit biased). We ended up adding more lessons, to perfect our first dance for the wedding (and because it was fun). We don't consider ourselves professional dancers but with the help of Anna, we conquered the dance floor on our big day. I would do it all again!

We left doing our dance lessons to the very last minute (2 weeks from the wedding to be exact!) and I could not have been more pleased with our experience. We were paired with an instructor named Talia, and not only did we give her the burdening task of coming up with something for us with such limited time but my fiance was surprising me with our first dance song; so she had to choreograph us a dance all while keeping the song a secret. We were absolutely thrilled with our dance after our few dance lessons and had so much fun doing it. I could not recommend this dance studio more for your wedding dance choreography and even just a fun date night. We've already talked about going back after the wedding!
