We went to Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Smithfield and worked with Dayana to choreograph our first dance for our wedding and it was a really fun experience! She made it easy to learn and enjoy dancing despite our limited experience on the dance floor. She was also willing to work with our difficult schedules and adjust whenever we needed to reschedule, something which we really appreciated. Our routine was put together very well and looked great for photos and videos!

My husband and I went to Fred Astaire Dance Studio in EG to learn our couple's dance for our wedding! Lisa was fantastic to work with and knew how to work with our personalities and learning styles to get the job done. My dad and I also did our father-daughter dance lessons with Lisa as well. The overall experience was great! Although my husband and dad are not into dancing perse, they both left the classes much more confident in their dancing shoes!! Lisa--Ben and I crushed our wedding dance!!! A huge thank you for helping us make this happen. Ben said he was so glad we did dance lessons before the wedding- and he even pulled me aside at the end of cocktail hour to give another practice run before our debut!

Emily Cortez is from Southern New Jersey and received a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations with a minor in Dance from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. She moved to Rhode Island to study Organizational Behavior and Fitness and Wellness at The University of Rhode Island. Emily started dancing Ballroom, Hip-hop, and Jazz at a young age. She was a part of Rowan University’s Dance Team and Modern Dance Extensions Company. She holds certifications in Zumba®, Bodypump Les Mills, Yogafit Level 1, AFAA (American Fitness Association of America) Group Fitness, and is CPR/First Aid/AED Certified. She was also Miss Rhode Island’s Sweetheart (first runner up) 2015 through the Miss America Organization! Teaching ballroom dance allows her to promote her passion, expression through the arts, health and wellness. She joined Team Warwick in 2016. "Getting wedding couples prepared for their big day is one of my favorite things to do" according to Emily. "We get to make a couples special day even more special and help create memories of a tlifetime!"

We went to Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Warwick, RI to prepare for our wedding in January and it was a great experience! We just wanted to feel more comfortable on the dance floor...
and after ~5 weeks we were doing spins, lifts, and dips! Emily, Brendan, Roger, and Jackie were familiar faces at the studio that were always friendly and made us feel more comfortable. Arismel was our main instructor and she was INCREDIBLE. Charismatic, energetic, and extremely knowledgable. We felt more confident after every class with her and she gave us so much useful advice that helped us feel more prepared for our first dance! (Things like music timing, how to dance in your dress, how to orient to different dance floors.) Our guests loved it! We definitely have a new hobby coming here even after the wedding and would recommend the Warwick Fred Astaire Dance Studio for a fun date night or to anyone wanting to meet friendly people!

We took dance lessons at the Warwick studio to prepare for our 8/27 wedding. We worked with Arismel, who is the best!! She is very dedicated to making sure your first dance is perf...
ect. We are... not great dancers, however she is patient and kind. She created a first dance routine that went perfectly with our song. We made a couple mistakes on the day of the wedding, but they were barely noticeable and overall, it was great!!! Our guests were shocked and gave us many compliments. I was hesitant to take dance lessons initially, but my husband really wanted to. I am glad he did. We had fun going to our lessons. It served as a mini date night and gave us some time to step away from wedding planning. We are grateful to Arismel for her dedication and kindness. Thank you!

ay, we were able to learn multiple styles of dance and decide which one fit us for our wedding dance. What we did not expect, was the family we would find at the studio. You know in Cheers? Sometimes you want to go where everyone knows your name. That's Fred Astaire -Warwick. You are always greeted with a big hello and smiling faces. It's never a bad day at Fred Astaire Dance Studio. Dancing has done wonders for our confidence and has overall enriched our lives.
