The Fred Astaire - Gilbert team worked with us to bring my dance idea to life. I submitted 3 songs I wanted to dance at the wedding and then sat down with two instructors to explain what each song meant to me/us and how I wanted to dance a combined sibling/mother-son dance and then the “first dance” and then the all inclusive dance. Our instructors Anton Silantev and Savannah Johnson created beautiful, easy to learn and song fitting choreography that all involved could learn. Even my son who only took 1 class because he lives in Seattle was able to learn the dance from watching the video from our practice. My brother was extremely nervous and Savannah was able to calm his nerves by engaging him in conversation during practices such that the choreography was performed out of sheer muscle memory. A wonderful teaching tactic that I appreciated her using. With my fiancé, Savannah was patient and offered much grace because he’s not a dancer. After these classes, Anton helped refine some of our technique so that the moves were cleaner or easier to perform. In the end our dances were executed beautifully. I do recommend starting your lessons at minimum 2-3 months before your wedding so you learn the routines and shake off the nerves. Plus it’s fun and a great way to spend time with your future spouse.
