law had mentioned working with Mike and his team in the past, and had asked us to check out his work and see if it was something that we were interested in. We looked at his work and fell in love. Mike made sure that before the wedding we were squared away and had everything we needed, and a plan to get the shots we wanted done in an efficient manner. He asked us to get a list of our family members we were wanting pictures with done, and while working with our busy work schedules he made time to talk for 45 minutes a few weeks before to get all of this done. He even reached out the week of the wedding {when I had forgotten to do so} to make sure nothing had changed, or that we needed to add anything else to the timeline. On the day of the wedding Mike and his team blew it out of the water. He was there with everything we needed, even that we didn't think we needed. He worked so efficiently to make sure that all things were done in time and that we were both comfortable, and was very flexible in adding in some shots that we thought of last minute. The one big shot that I was hoping for was a sunset type of shot, as the venue that we chose had the perfect views. Unfortunately, we were unable to get a sunset photo due to the cloud coverage and sunset of the night, but Mike pulled us out and was able to capture some beautiful sillouhette shots that turned out even better than I could have imagined! We had our sneak peek up within the next few days and are currently waiting for the full album, but I just could not wait to write this review. So, if you're in the market for a respectful, efficient, and downright AMAZING photographer. Look to Mike and his team, you will not be disappointed!!

My husband and I didn't really have much familiarity with the area, so we really appreciated that Amanda took charge and directed our shuttle driver to some great spots near our venue. The pictures turned out wonderfully, but there was never a doubt in my mind that they would. They combined their skill in photography with meticulousness in their attempts to understand the events of our wedding ceremonies. Their understanding of the events of the wedding enabled them in positioning themselves to capture the perfect shot. They worked together over 3 days and a combined 42 hours of photography between all the photographers who worked the events. Despite this immense workload, the sneak peek and the full album were released to us right on time, as promised, and with beautifully edited and selected shots. They even introduced us to our wedding planner, something we will always be thankful for! Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and we are glad we had Mike and his team present to capture it and forever refresh our memories!

for the day was ready to go. On the day of our wedding, it rained just about all day and we had planned for outdoor pictures. However, Amanda did the most amazing job staying calm and controlled. Her demeanor and her confidence made us feel relaxed in an otherwise stressful situation. She found beautiful places and settings for our pictures and looking back now, I don't really even miss the outdoor shots! Our wedding pictures (over 1300- wow!) came back better than we could have hoped for. Amanda did a great job with the editing- from color correcting in our otherwise yellow-hued church to making our colors really pop on a cloudy day. We were impressed to say the least. Our feedback from others on the photography has been nothing short of high praise. Amanda worked so well with our large group and captured every shot we wanted. When I first met Mike, I was at a Wedding Expo and very recently engaged so I was just there to focus on venues. Mike took the time to get to know me, my vision, and my budget to offer genuine advice and suggestions. Not once was he pushy about his own business, he just wanted to be helpful. Naturally, he made an impression and as soon as my husband and I were ready to talk about photographers, I wanted to work with Mike! Even though we had a frugal budget, I knew quality photos were high on my wish list and Freeland Photo offers a great middle of the road price for high quality products. When we met with Amanda and found out Mike was available for our wedding date, I was beyond thrilled! My husband and I both come from divorced parents so we wanted to be extremely sensitive to our family members and respectful through the wedding process- especially the day of. Mike is very experienced and made us feel so at ease about how the day would go. He is friendly and relaxed, but also easily directs a room to make sure not a minute is wasted during your photos. Everyone at the wedding talked about how great the photographer was. He was everywhere and yet never in the way and carefully timed things so he could pull us away to get some gorgeous photos later in the evening (we had an outdoor wedding) without interrupting the party. It was the BEST day of our lives and he captured that effortlessly! A week following the wedding, we had some bittersweet news- my husband’s grandmother, who was in poor health and whose goal was to make it to our wedding, had passed away. I reached out to Mike to see if we could get a few of the wedding photos with her in time for the funeral the following week. Mike didn’t miss a beat and within HOURS had sent access to at least 20 beautifully edited photos along with kind condolences about how he was honored to have been able to capture those moments for us. Of course, this brought me along with many family members to tears. We were blown away by how thoughtful Mike was once again. He is the perfect example of how actions speak louder than words and he has truly become a friend of the family. We know without a doubt we will be lifelong customers for all of our exciting milestones to come! Thank you Freeland Crew!!!

not the cheapest out there but for the quality, they are worth every single penny. Amanda and Elizabeth were more than we could ever have hoped for! Two brides are a handful and they made us feel so comfortable and taken care of. At one point, both girls were on the floor helping is bustle our dresses. I can't thank them enough for such a wonderful evening. They were perfect at getting action shots, following us around practically all day to get photos that didn't feel posed. We just got our photos back this week and they are absolutely beautiful - we have hundreds of good shots to select from.

Freeland as a company was very easy to work with, especially as I was planning our wedding long-distance intermittently from NYC and D.C. They sent their invoices over email and we were able to make payments in easy installments. I loved that we were able to customize our package and overlap the two photographers' time so we were able to get more coverage throughout our wedding day. We also had the opportunity to work with Mike for our engagement pictures, and were very pleased with the output of those, too.

She also did a great job of making sure that I got every kind of shot that I wanted and didn't get in the way during the ceremony/reception so that I could enjoy time with my guests. She is a very laid-back and really makes your feel comfortable. I loved the photos and love that I could share all the full-quality photos easily via the website she sets up. I would highly recommend her!

Mike and Amy did an outstanding job getting each and every shot we requested, and all of the special detail shots that really make your wedding personal. Mike took our engagement photos and even did a separate bridal portrait shoot with me to ensure that we had plenty of time for shots of my dress before the big day. This allowed me to see how my hair, makeup, and dress would photograph before the day of. I got incredible pictures with each session we did, and I would print them all if I could! I know I made the best decision hiring Freeland and I encourage everyone to use their studio as they are super friendly and easy to work with. They work incredibly hard to capture each aspect of your day, and I can’t wait to use them many times in the future for family pictures. Truly the best!

pical wedding poses. I loved that they paired us with our photographer Amanda for our engagement photos and then she was also our photographer for our wedding. I was very nervous about taking photos and feeling awkward, but Amanda was so sweet and easy to work with that we actually had a ton of fun taking all of our photos. She is so talented behind the camera and captured moments we'll cherish forever! We have so many wonderful photos to choose from! In every location, they were ready to maximize all aspects of their environment to create truly unique photos. For example, they seamlessly transitioned from capturing the evening light and golden foliage on the lawn of the Nelson Atkins museum to festive Christmas photos in the decorated parlor of the Brass on Baltimore. The results were stunning. They were more than just photos: each image is a work of art unto itself.

I had bridal photos done before the wedding and couldn't find time to drive out to their office to pick them up before the wedding (I live 30 mins away) and Mike went out of his way to meet me 10 minutes from my house so that I could have them before the wedding. he first phone call to getting all of our images. Mike Freeland was our photographer for the wedding day and he did my bridal portrait session a few days before the big day as well. From the moment I met Mike I knew that we would be in good hands. He instantly put me at ease and I really enjoyed the experience of having my portraits done. For the wedding day, Mike had spent some time to scope out some great places to take pictures with our bridal party; I appreciated the extra effort to ensure that we got lots of different kinds of shots. I feel like he and his 2nd photographer, Tammie, were able to capture the excitement of the day and the precious moments that would have otherwise been missed in all the hustle and bustle of getting married! The sweetest surprise was when I walked into my reception and Mike had printed one of the images from my portrait session, framed it, and set it on the guest book table. Mike and Tammie got lots of pictures at the reception but were also consummate professionals. They were never "in the way" or trying to "force" any shots. Best of all, they got our images to us weeks earlier than we were expecting. I know brides who have waited months to see their wedding pictures; getting those images to us so quickly is one of those details that separates the good from the exceptional. Here's the thing about your wedding day: it really will go by so quickly and you will not remember a lot of it. When we found Mike Freeland I knew we were in good hands. He's been involved in the wedding industry for many years and he knows what he is doing.
