When my wife and I got engaged, we were both on the same page in wanting to pick out a photographer that captured us and our wedding day in the best possible way! My now father in law had mentioned working with Mike and his team in the past, and had asked us to check out his work and see if it was something that we were interested in. We looked at his work and fell in love. Mike made sure that before the wedding we were squared away and had everything we needed, and a plan to get the shots we wanted done in an efficient manner. He asked us to get a list of our family members we were wanting pictures with done, and while working with our busy work schedules he made time to talk for 45 minutes a few weeks before to get all of this done. He even reached out the week of the wedding {when I had forgotten to do so} to make sure nothing had changed, or that we needed to add anything else to the timeline. On the day of the wedding Mike and his team blew it out of the water. He was there with everything we needed, even that we didn't think we needed. He worked so efficiently to make sure that all things were done in time and that we were both comfortable, and was very flexible in adding in some shots that we thought of last minute. The one big shot that I was hoping for was a sunset type of shot, as the venue that we chose had the perfect views. Unfortunately, we were unable to get a sunset photo due to the cloud coverage and sunset of the night, but Mike pulled us out and was able to capture some beautiful sillouhette shots that turned out even better than I could have imagined! We had our sneak peek up within the next few days and are currently waiting for the full album, but I just could not wait to write this review. So, if you're in the market for a respectful, efficient, and downright AMAZING photographer. Look to Mike and his team, you will not be disappointed!!

Our experience with Amanda and April at Freeland Photography was wonderful! Amanda was incredibly helpful throughout each stage of planning, and helped us find spots for taking photos on the day when the weather was less than cooperative. We’ve only gotten our sneak-peek photos so far, but we couldn’t be more in love with them. Freeland photography helped us capture the memories of our beautiful day exactly how we’d hoped!

Freeland was amazing to work with. Amanda took our engagement pictures and was also with us on our wedding day, along with Ryanne. They were both fantastic--easy-going, but still offering direction. My husband and I didn't really have much familiarity with the area, so we really appreciated that Amanda took charge and directed our shuttle driver to some great spots near our venue. The pictures turned out wonderfully, but there was never a doubt in my mind that they would. I cannot thank Amanda, Ryanne, and Freeland enough, and will recommend them to everyone I know, every change I get!

The first vendor we selected during our wedding planning was Freeland Photography. We were planning an Indian wedding and wanted to work with someone able to capture color and yet not let it be the focus of their photography. Mike and his team were exactly what we were looking for. They combined their skill in photography with meticulousness in their attempts to understand the events of our wedding ceremonies. Their understanding of the events of the wedding enabled them in positioning themselves to capture the perfect shot. They worked together over 3 days and a combined 42 hours of photography between all the photographers who worked the events. Despite this immense workload, the sneak peek and the full album were released to us right on time, as promised, and with beautifully edited and selected shots. They even introduced us to our wedding planner, something we will always be thankful for! Our wedding was everything we dreamed of and we are glad we had Mike and his team present to capture it and forever refresh our memories!

After hiring a family friend to take our engagement photos, cancelling our contract with her, and hiring Mike instead, we have truly experienced the difference it makes when your photographer is a professional with many years of experience and great understanding of his craft. We worked with Amanda for our wedding day and could not have asked for a better experience. Leading up to the day, Amanda was very responsive with emails and made sure our timeline for the day was ready to go. On the day of our wedding, it rained just about all day and we had planned for outdoor pictures. However, Amanda did the most amazing job staying calm and controlled. Her demeanor and her confidence made us feel relaxed in an otherwise stressful situation. She found beautiful places and settings for our pictures and looking back now, I don't really even miss the outdoor shots! Our wedding pictures (over 1300- wow!) came back better than we could have hoped for. Amanda did a great job with the editing- from color correcting in our otherwise yellow-hued church to making our colors really pop on a cloudy day. We were impressed to say the least. Our feedback from others on the photography has been nothing short of high praise. Amanda worked so well with our large group and captured every shot we wanted. Mike and Freeland photography are simply the best! Not only are the pictures amazing, but they are incredibly efficient and easy to work with! My family has used them for several events (all wonderful!), and Mike did my engagement photos and wedding photos. The Freeland Team captured every shot I could hope to have, keep everything on schedule, and made our day hassle free. Mike knew the exact vision I had for my wedding photos, and even though we were up against a rainstorm, he was still able to capture everything beautifully. Freeland was great. The only thing is that photos felt a little rushed between ceremony and reception (we didn't do a first look so I understand this complicates things). The sneak peak is a good thing becuase it takes quite awhile to see the photos after the event.

I don’t even know where to begin because Mike Freeland was outstanding during every interaction we had. He is not only a phenomenal photographer, but a phenomenal human being (please read to the end of this review! It may seem long, but there really is just so much to say!). When I first met Mike, I was at a Wedding Expo and very recently engaged so I was just there to focus on venues. Mike took the time to get to know me, my vision, and my budget to offer genuine advice and suggestions. Not once was he pushy about his own business, he just wanted to be helpful. Naturally, he made an impression and as soon as my husband and I were ready to talk about photographers, I wanted to work with Mike! Even though we had a frugal budget, I knew quality photos were high on my wish list and Freeland Photo offers a great middle of the road price for high quality products. When we met with Amanda and found out Mike was available for our wedding date, I was beyond thrilled! My husband and I both come from divorced parents so we wanted to be extremely sensitive to our family members and respectful through the wedding process- especially the day of. Mike is very experienced and made us feel so at ease about how the day would go. He is friendly and relaxed, but also easily directs a room to make sure not a minute is wasted during your photos. Everyone at the wedding talked about how great the photographer was. He was everywhere and yet never in the way and carefully timed things so he could pull us away to get some gorgeous photos later in the evening (we had an outdoor wedding) without interrupting the party. It was the BEST day of our lives and he captured that effortlessly! A week following the wedding, we had some bittersweet news- my husband’s grandmother, who was in poor health and whose goal was to make it to our wedding, had passed away. I reached out to Mike to see if we could get a few of the wedding photos with her in time for the funeral the following week. Mike didn’t miss a beat and within HOURS had sent access to at least 20 beautifully edited photos along with kind condolences about how he was honored to have been able to capture those moments for us. Of course, this brought me along with many family members to tears. We were blown away by how thoughtful Mike was once again. He is the perfect example of how actions speak louder than words and he has truly become a friend of the family. We know without a doubt we will be lifelong customers for all of our exciting milestones to come! Thank you Freeland Crew!!!

Freeland Photography was everything I could of ever asked for through out the whole wedding process from Engagement Photos to Wedding Day Prep meeting to the Wedding Day. Amanda did an outstanding job capturing what we wanted and making it a great experience along the way. I can't say enough about how pleased we were. I was a little nervous about spending so much money for photography (my wife made it clear that we needed to splurge since these photos would last forever). Freeland is definitely not the cheapest out there but for the quality, they are worth every single penny. Amanda and Elizabeth were more than we could ever have hoped for! Two brides are a handful and they made us feel so comfortable and taken care of. At one point, both girls were on the floor helping is bustle our dresses. I can't thank them enough for such a wonderful evening. They were perfect at getting action shots, following us around practically all day to get photos that didn't feel posed. We just got our photos back this week and they are absolutely beautiful - we have hundreds of good shots to select from.

We cannot thank Mike Freeland and Amanda enough for spending our wedding day with us, and producing the most real-beautiful pictures of the day, from start to finish! It's true when they say " you don't want to know your photographers are there, during the getting ready process," and they held that down. Amanda and Mike both captured "real" moments that we will cherish for a lifetime! If I could do it all over again, I would pick them! Saying we highly recommend, is doing them a dis-service because we 500% recommend, and beyond!!

Amanda was so great to work with from day one. She brought a calm and collectedness to our wedding day that helped keep me (the bride) calm and collected. I was confident throughout the day that she and Ryann were capturing the moments we’d requested. And we weren’t disappointed -- the preview we received a week later revealed some stunning shots! Freeland as a company was very easy to work with, especially as I was planning our wedding long-distance intermittently from NYC and D.C. They sent their invoices over email and we were able to make payments in easy installments. I loved that we were able to customize our package and overlap the two photographers' time so we were able to get more coverage throughout our wedding day. We also had the opportunity to work with Mike for our engagement pictures, and were very pleased with the output of those, too.

Highly recommend Freeland Photography. My wedding photos are beautiful! They captured many moments that were so touching. They never stopped running the day of our wedding to be in every place! Like a good photographer, I barely even noticed they were there. They are also very knowledgeable and answered all our questions ahead of time. Amanda photographed my wedding and I'm so glad I went with her. She was very easy to work with and get along with and made my whole wedding day very stress-free. I did not have a "day-of" wedding planner, but I felt like Amanda helped out on many things that I wouldn't have thought of. She also did a great job of making sure that I got every kind of shot that I wanted and didn't get in the way during the ceremony/reception so that I could enjoy time with my guests. She is a very laid-back and really makes your feel comfortable. I loved the photos and love that I could share all the full-quality photos easily via the website she sets up. Freeland Photography was the best decision I made for my wedding! Photography was the most important vendor to hire, and I did tons of research. My husband actually selected Freeland because of his comfort level with Mike, and I was really excited to work with them as they were at the top of my list for quality of photos. Mike and Amy did an outstanding job getting each and every shot we requested, and all of the special detail shots that really make your wedding personal. Mike took our engagement photos and even did a separate bridal portrait shoot with me to ensure that we had plenty of time for shots of my dress before the big day. This allowed me to see how my hair, makeup, and dress would photograph before the day of. I got incredible pictures with each session we did, and I would print them all if I could! I know I made the best decision hiring Freeland and I encourage everyone to use their studio as they are super friendly and easy to work with. They work incredibly hard to capture each aspect of your day, and I can’t wait to use them many times in the future for family pictures. Truly the best!

My wedding photos are just amazing! Freeland Photography captured every moment beautifully! I chose Freeland because all of their photos were bright, unique and not the cheesy typical wedding poses. I loved that they paired us with our photographer Amanda for our engagement photos and then she was also our photographer for our wedding. I was very nervous about taking photos and feeling awkward, but Amanda was so sweet and easy to work with that we actually had a ton of fun taking all of our photos. She is so talented behind the camera and captured moments we'll cherish forever! We have so many wonderful photos to choose from! I cannot recommend Freeland Photography highly enough. Mike and his staff were committed to getting beautiful, natural shots and went above and beyond to accommodate our large wedding party and family. Our wedding was in November, and Mike and Faith drove all over Kansas City with us to capture the fall colors and golden hour. In every location, they were ready to maximize all aspects of their environment to create truly unique photos. For example, they seamlessly transitioned from capturing the evening light and golden foliage on the lawn of the Nelson Atkins museum to festive Christmas photos in the decorated parlor of the Brass on Baltimore. The results were stunning. They were more than just photos: each image is a work of art unto itself.

Amanda and her assistant took wonderful pictures in a very unobtrusive manner at my September wedding. We had hundreds of photos to choose from, and we love our album. They even brought a drone and got some awesome pictures from above. The whole experience was great!

Mike captured our wedding day perfectly! We came up with lots of spur of the moment photo ideas and he perfected them all. We are so in love with our pictures. It takes a couple months to get them but it was so worth the wait. A member of our wedding party was sick the day of our wedding and Mike made sure they were comfortable through all the photos.

Mike Freeland and photographer Faith exceeded our expectations on every level possible. When looking for photographers we met with quite a few different ones and we felt the most connected to Mike. He shot both our engagement pictures and wedding photos. It was important to us to include our dogs in the engagement shots and he was fantastic with this. Freeland Photography was the first vendor that I booked for our wedding, because I was SO impressed with their work and the time they took to get to know us and share information with us before we even decided to go with them. We really enjoyed working with Freeland Photography’s Mike Freeland and Elizabeth for our wedding. They were always very professional and still friendly, helping to keep us relaxed throughout all of our photos. They were great at getting candid shots and shots of our friends and family. Their time management (and management of families) for our family shots during our cocktail hour was very impressive as well. We also really appreciated Mike’s attention to detail and his efforts to coordinate with our other vendors to make the day go smoothly. I was beyond impressed with Freeland Photography. Amanda and another photographer shot my wedding day and they did everything in their power to make my day special and capture every moment. I had bridal photos done before the wedding and couldn't find time to drive out to their office to pick them up before the wedding (I live 30 mins away) and Mike went out of his way to meet me 10 minutes from my house so that I could have them before the wedding. We planned our Liberty, MO wedding from Austin, TX so finding vendors that we could trust was really important to us. Working with Freeland Photography was an absolute dream from the first phone call to getting all of our images. Mike Freeland was our photographer for the wedding day and he did my bridal portrait session a few days before the big day as well. From the moment I met Mike I knew that we would be in good hands. He instantly put me at ease and I really enjoyed the experience of having my portraits done. For the wedding day, Mike had spent some time to scope out some great places to take pictures with our bridal party; I appreciated the extra effort to ensure that we got lots of different kinds of shots. I feel like he and his 2nd photographer, Tammie, were able to capture the excitement of the day and the precious moments that would have otherwise been missed in all the hustle and bustle of getting married! The sweetest surprise was when I walked into my reception and Mike had printed one of the images from my portrait session, framed it, and set it on the guest book table. Mike and Tammie got lots of pictures at the reception but were also consummate professionals. They were never "in the way" or trying to "force" any shots. Best of all, they got our images to us weeks earlier than we were expecting. I know brides who have waited months to see their wedding pictures; getting those images to us so quickly is one of those details that separates the good from the exceptional. Here's the thing about your wedding day: it really will go by so quickly and you will not remember a lot of it. After all that money is spent and the party is over, your pictures are what will help you relive the most exciting day of your life (so far, anyway). Your photographer is with you ALL day. It is very important that they are easy going, and fun to be around. Amanda and Jeremy from Freeland photography were just that! As a Day of Coordinator I see good and bad. They had the bride and groom smiling NATURAL smiles. And went with the flow to make the day run as smooth as possible when things had to be changed. Bravo! Wedding planning is quite a task and we knew that photography would be one of the most important decisions to make. When we first met Michael Freeland we immediately felt a personal connection and at ease with him and could tell that he had a passion for capturing the best images and memories for our special day. When we started planning our wedding, we felt the photos were the most important to us. It was the one piece of that day we would have forever and we would look at all the time. When we found Mike Freeland I knew we were in good hands. He's been involved in the wedding industry for many years and he knows what he is doing. His knowledge and expertise were such a blessing to us. I've had 4 friends who had used him as well and have fabulous things to say too. Mike was calm, organized, prepared, so nice to be around (which is a big deal on your wedding day) and he truly took care of us. All the little details he was totally on top of. Our photos are GORGEOUS and if I did it all over again I'd choose Mike every time.

We were looking for photos with a timeless look, not all posed or traditional, and affordable. With Freeland, we were able to accomplish all three goals. My husband does not like to have photos taken, so I was pleased to see the genuine smiles and all of the little moments they were able to capture on our day. Our package included digital images with print release, so we can continue to use our images in many ways for years to come. We loved the people from our first visit and their website makes post-production sharing and purchases very convenient.

Mike and Amanda shot our wedding (Amanda shot our engagement photos also). Both of them were extremely professional and insanely easy to work with!!!! The Freeland crew, especially Amanda and Tammy, were absolutely incredible. Amanda captured the beautiful fall colors during our engagement shoot, while getting acquainted with us before our big day. We were married on July 31st, which also happens to be Harry Potter's birthday. Being HP enthusiasts, we wished to have a few Harry Potter themed pictures. Amanda and Tammy were able to snap the shots while rolling on the floor while my husband and I cast spells on one another. It was 'Riddikulus' but they were great sports and honored our wishes. Freeland Photography was great to work with from start to finish. The package we chose included: engagement photo session with ownership rights toa # of prints, 2 lead photographers for 8 hours on the wedding day, full rights to all wedding photos (included on discs) and an 80 photo wedding album that is absolutely beautiful. For the quality of the images, skilled photographers, and all that is included truly is a great value! The team does a great job preparing for your engagement and wedding by getting your ideas from Pinterest pages, asking what photos you do/don't want and making sure they get what you're looking for. Photography was important to us and we felt like we got everything we asked for with Amanda and Scott capturing our big day. We constantly get compliments on our wedding photos, so we know we did good by choosing them. We love our photos and will always remind us of how perfect our big day was!

I really cannot even begin to explain how grateful I am for choosing Freeland Photography to capture such special moments in my life. I booked them a little over a year before my wedding and April stayed in constant contact with me the entire time. I created a board on Pinterest of any specific photos I wanted and she made sure to look at it and give them a try. Using Freeland Photography to photograph our wedding was one of the BEST decisions we made throughout the entire wedding planning process. Mike and his assistance came to Mexico, MO to photography my daughter's wedding. They were professional and fun to work with. They took pre-ceremony pictures at the bride's family home and the groom's family home. The photography in the church during the ceremony was stunning. The candid shots at the reception really captured the joyous occasion. They captured the perfect midnight kiss on New Year's Eve between the bride and groom. I would recommend Freeland Photography for any occasion.

Mike was the lead photographer, and he did an amazing job of seeing great photo opportunities that I didn't think of. My fiancé (well, hubby now!) don't always take great pictures together - lots of blinks and we have a hard time finding good lighting, but our engagement session turned out great and I wasn't worried at all for the wedding photos. We didn't have a lot of time at the ceremony location for pictures, but I know that Mike got some great stuff! I'm still waiting to see the actual wedding photos, but my bridal portrait and engagement pictures were perfect!

Our package included two photographers which included April & Scott. Scott photographed the boys before the wedding, and April photographed me and the girls. When they both were working our photographs together for the rest of the day, they were continuously working to find the most artistic shots and tried to capture all of the "natural" moments that I think will really come through the most. They really work hard throughout the whole day to make sure they come out with the most beautiful shots possible. I enjoyed working with them and I would definitely use them again!!

Mike and Amanda did an outstanding job photographing our wedding. They covered every little detail...down to capturing my dad taking a cat nap in the grooms suite!!

I can’t say enough about Mike Freeland and his team. From the first meeting with him to selecting our pictures after the wedding, Freeland Photography was amazing to work with. Mike and Damon shot our wedding.They arrived early to the room where we were getting ready and did not leave until all the major events of the wedding were done. Mike was prepared and searched my Pinterest board before the wedding so he could recommend locations for the different photos (we took a trolley around KC) based on the style and backgrounds of pictures I pinned. Freeland posted a sneak peek of 10 pictures about a week after the wedding. I was blown away by the quality of the pictures as well as the little moments they were able to capture. To my amazement, we received a phone call 2 ½ weeks after the wedding saying that all the pictures were ready for viewing (usually this takes months). There were over 1,000 pictures to look through and the team had divided the pictures into categories (getting ready, ceremony, etc.). All the pictures came out beautiful and allowed me to relive my wedding day. I don’t know how I am going to select only a handful of pictures for my wedding book. We have already booked Freeland Photography for my sister’s wedding in March and recommend them to anyone getting married in KC.

My groom and I were really nervous about our wedding pictures as we feel that we are not always photogenic, but our pictures came out better that what we imagined. The staff at Freeland listened to us as a couple and understood who we were before we started the picture taking process. During the planning stages, Freeland was always timely in answering our questions whether it is by phone or email. Our pictures came out perfect. We will have these wonderful memories forever thanks to Freeland!

My husband and I got married on an extremely cold, snowy day & I was so impressed with the professionalism of our two photographers under those conditions. They managed to find great shots indoors & still use the beautiful outdoor spaces at our reception venue, too. They were so kind & thoughtful with us even though we both have huge families and wanted a lot of family photos. They got our pictures back to us really quickly, too. We're still in the process of ordering our album, but I would highly recommend Freeland.

We absolutely loved Freeland photography!! We ended up using 3 of their photographers between our engagement pictures and wedding and all of them were extremely talented!! You can't go wrong when choosing one of their photographers. They caught all the moments that we wanted to capture and did so in the most beautiful way. Mike Freeland scoped out places to take shots after our wedding all the way out by my grandparent's farm. He found places that I never even knew about which produced just gorgeous pictures. We will admit, they are a bit more expensive(depending on which package you buy), but they are hands down, THE BEST and totally worth it. From customer service to the quality of their product. They were extremely easy to work with and no request was too big or too small to them. They accommodated all of our questions and requests. As far as cost goes, my cousin used a different photographer (and I believe she spent more than we did) and only actually liked about a few pictures from her wedding. They did not capture some key pictures such as a picture of her new husband and her immediate family so they literally had to photoshop her brother into the picture. Let me tell you, Freeland does not miss anything. They know exactly what they are doing and they are awesome at it! I have had many people tell me that the pictures from our wedding were some of the most beautiful they have ever seen. The way they are able to use lighting and color made for vibrant and beautiful shots. We could not have been more pleased! Thank you Freeland!!

AMAZING!!! If you want professional photographers and stunning photographs, you need to check out Freeland Photography. We'll be the first to admit they are not the cheapest, but we'd argue they are hands down the best. We wanted photographers who could capture the story of our wedding weekend. We asked for photographers who specialized in photojournalism and we had the pleasure of working with two incredibly talented ladies. We couldn't have been assigned two better people. We were able to meet with these ladies before we signed our contract. They made us feel comfortable, made us laugh and their confidence put our minds at ease. We didn't realize how much time we'd spend with the photographers on our wedding day, even in the private moments when no one else is around, so finding someone you vibe with is very important. These ladies captured stunning photos that told our story which we will now have forever. Their creativity, teamwork and portfolio is impressive. If you have room in your budget, this is place and these are the people to splurge on. You will not be disappointed!!!

CONS * They were very nice but 8 months after the wedding, still no album and just got prints. * Difficult to get a hold of. Would go weeks without a response from emails or phone calls. * During wedding photographers did not have a plan for pictures. Didn't know any poses for bride and groom, or wedding party. Added stress to bride and groom because photographers did not pose anyone. Bride, Groom, or members of wedding party had to come up with all the ideas. It is expected to have input in pictures, but coming up with them was stressful for all involved. * Photo booth broke after 45 minutes and they did not attempt to fix. Just shut it down. And still charged full price (3 hr photo booth). PROS * Very nice day of. * On time. * Knew the venue * Had a contract for you to sign before they sent you the album.

Working with Freeland Photography was an overall pleasurable experience. My husband and I could not have been happier with the attention we received from the time of our initial meeting through our ceremony and reception. Our photographers, Mike and Damon, were great throughout, capturing the smallest of details, choreographing the group shots with ease, and making us all feel comfortable. They even made sure that we were able to take advantage of the gorgeous fall foliage, arranging for us to head to the park for additional photos. The pictures are amazing, a fine mix of traditional photos mixed with those capturing the moments we may have missed in the swirl of the day. My husband and I are certain that we chose the best photographers for our wedding day, and we would recommend Freeland Photography to anyone.

Although I wish the dj would have announced the photobooth like he was suppose to, once everyone got word of the booth they raced over! If you want a booth where lots of people can go in and take a pic, this is your photobooth for sure! They even gave me a copy of all the strips :)

We are so excited to see the rest of our wedding photos!! We've been able to see a sneak peek of our pictures and we're in LOVE! Mike was such a pleasure to work with. He's very professional and experienced and made it so easy for our wedding party the day of. We will be receiving a DVD with all of the photos, some edited, and a photo book as well. After my plans to have a "vintage" style photographer fell through, I saw a friend's wedding pictures from Freeland and fell in love. Afterall, catching ALL the moments on your one special day is the most important and I did not want to focus so much on placement of persons or things for pictures. They catch every moment, real and raw. Mike was there from the morning to the evening- on HIS birthday and did not say a peep about it! He caught it all and I have the pictures to prove it!
