The “house manager” assigned for our wedding lacked professionalism and caused a lot of issues with our planner and family members. My now husband even had to step in between her t...
o stop an argument. Communication was lacking. We started clean up early and by the end of the night we were glad it was over, which as a bride sucked.
Fremont Abbey was a beautiful and the perfect place for our wedding ceremony and reception. It is a more laid-back venue, which we appreciated. However, that means you need to be ...
more vigilant about communication and making sure to get what is needed for the day-of. Fremont Abbey isn't in the business to try to SELL you on their venue. They're a non-profit organization and allow for weddings at a very fair cost. The staff was easy to work with and the day-of coordinator was especially helpful with the whole set-up.
Parking is more difficult, so we rented the private parking lot (15 spaces or so) about half a block away. But I didn't hear any guests complain about street parking. And I most wished we had A/C as it was a HOT day. Only a handful of fans were provided, so that was uncomfortable.
I highly recommend Fremont Abbey Arts Center.

parking was really the only drawback, but all of our guests still arrived on time, so there appeared to be plenty of street parking.
Fremont Abbey was the perfect venue for us. We wanted to use as many non-profit vendors as possible and we just loved the mission of the Fremont Abbey, which is arts education for ...
the community. The venue is a beautiful red brick building with tall stain-glass windows and an urban feel. The downstairs cafe was perfect for our karaoke and dance party after the ceremony/dinner in the great room.
The drawback is that because Fremont Abbey is a nonprofit and they have very limited staff, you're not going to get responses to your emails as quickly. It won't be like dealing with a professional wedding venue, because they're not a professional wedding venue. They're an arts nonprofit doing weddings on the side.
Still, they definitely came through for us on everything we needed. Everything was beautiful and again, it was the perfect venue for us.
