Our wedding cake was delicious! Simple and beautiful and everyone at the bakery was extremely easy to work with from across the country.
We had our wedding cupcakes and mini cake done through French's Cupcake Bakery and I'm so glad we did! The cupcakes we're absolutely delicious and our mini cake looked and tasted ...
better than I even imagined! The staff was so easy to work with and professional, I would recommend them 100 times over!
The decorator, Ginny French is a cake genius! I simply provided a few ideas, the theme of our wedding and VIOLA! A perfect wedding cake was delivered. They were able to capture t...
he look and feel of our winter wonderland theme, and include my favorite color-SPARKLES!!! A very classy masterpiece indeed- and my hat's off to the baking staff- I am still receiving compliments on "the best chocolate cake ever". Thank you French's for making this day extra delicious!
My family has used French's on 17th for many years. We knew immediately that our country wedding needed their Lemon Blueberry cake. Laurie was so helpful at our tasting. We ordered...
based off our initial guest list but had to reduce the order once we got final numbers in. That was easy to do and Laurie had no problem helping us reevaluate our order. We even ordered a small groom cake a week before the wedding. At the tasting I brought a picture of what we wanted the frosting to look like.
When I got my first look at the cake during our reception it was 100% better than the picture I brought in. It was perfect and all our guests loved the cake. Thanks French's!
We had a great blueberry cake. The taste was amazing!
We booked 6 months in advance after doing a tasting and speaking with Diane(the owner) about what we wanted for our dream wedding cake. My fiance(now husband) had created our wishi...
ng well from scratch, it was a beautiful lighthouse that has decorative windows and doors, we wanted the cake to complement the design of our wishing well and Diane made us feel as though she would love to make this happen for us. We paid the deposit 2 weeks after our original consultation and brought in a picture of the unfinished lighthouse, then sent 3 follow up emails with updated pictures showing all of the decorative windows and doors. They never got back to us and never said there would be a problem until 2 weeks before the wedding when we went in to pay the balance. Their story changed and they ask for more money and said that the owner quoted us wrong and should of never quoted us as she did. I never heard from Diane as I had asked for her to call me so we could clarify. No one seems to know what the other is doing and they were very uncompromising. We decided to get a standard "layered" cake with all the decorations and when it was delivered it was a plain white blob that had ZERO decoration on the actual cake, it didn't match the wishing well and the only effort that appeared to be done to it was a wooden house topper that they must of purchased from Micheal's and put some chocolate on, it looked nothing like they said it would! Absolutely no creativity. To top that they still ended up charging us an additional $50 when my fiance went and paid for the balance! The cake tasted fine but there was none left over for us to even have a slice to take home. They were definitely our worse vendor. If you choose to go with this bakery(not the French's on Baker in Costa Mesa the one on 17th) be warned that they thrive on miscommunication!
The cupcakes were delicous and a big hit. My only complaint is that I bought and provided them with pink cupcake holders to use which were not in fact used. I was quite disappoin...
ted the day of to see this :(
I liked the cake but it ended up being too much work getting my idea across. I called many times and even emailed a picture of the general idea I had for my cake. I spoke the wed...
ding coordinator at least 5 times, if not more before they finally let me talk to the cake decorator... then I had to start all over. This went on for weeks, literally. I had gotten a price quote about a week earlier. Then when I actually ordered the cake it ended up being about $150 more than the original quote. When I questioned the on it they said that was the quote on just the basic 3 tier cake with out any of the decorations. I felt like we'd been talking for several weeks and I gave her my budget so why didn't she keep me updated if we were going over budget. Wasn't worth it.
