Fresh Take

This band is out-of-this-world amazing. Not only did they work with us to customize our dance songs, but they learned a completely new song (or two) to surprise us at our wedding! Our wedding guests kept saying over and over again how great the band was. Their craft, soul, vibe, down to professionalism and execution were all superb. A+++++++++

We had a great experience with Fresh Take! Anita has an amazing voice, and Daniel was very easy to work with before the wedding. They learned a new song for our first dance and that was much appreciated. Although our wedding was on the smaller side, the band got everyone dancing until the very end. Many guests complimented the band in the days following the wedding.

Fresh Take was everything we'd hoped for and more. I could tell from the videos that they were talented and versatile performers, but I was even more impressed in person. My guests were blown away by the talent of the vocals, the wide repertoire of genres, and their ability to keep the dance floor active even with a small reception size. Daniel (the band leader) was extremely communicative, professional, and easy to work with. They learned a special song for us, which is very near and dear to my heart, and pulled it off perfectly. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking a crowd-pleasing musical experience!

From the pre-wedding planning to jammin out the entire night of our wedding, Fresh Take Band was the absolute best! If you're looking for a band that is organized, energetic, talented, and personable, look not further. We had Fresh Take perform at my wedding with the addition of 2 horns & they were truly exceptional! Daniel, head of Fresh Take, was amazing during our planning process and the band was absolutely phenomenal during our wedding! We had seen this in a previous review so we asked the band to have the horns lead everyone outside to our cake cutting & had surprise fireworks. The 2 horns played a melody leading my husband and I, and our other guests outside. I will never forget the look on everyone's faces as the horns played - amazing! At the end of the night the trumpist and saxophonist also guided our guests out to the sparkler exit. It was the perfect extra touch to really - WOW- our guests! They even included some personal touches with our first song- learning the lyrics to "Love like crazy" and changing a few words making it increasingly intimate! Throughout the night and in the days after our wedding, it was a consistent theme that everyone LOVED our band - obviously my husband and I did too! I cannot thank Fresh Take Band enough for bringing the energy & intimacy on the most magical day of our life!

Fresh Take was amazing!! We had a small wedding (70 people) with people mostly in their 30s and 60s. They played an awesome mix of genres that kept everyone dancing all night long. We keep hearing from everyone how much they loved our band. I also want to note how great they are to work with. Daniel was so professional and enthusiastic. He made us feel special and accommodated our preferences. The vocalist is absolutely stunning. She sang a "last dance" song for us that had everyone in tears. Very highly recommend.

WOW, Fresh Take was incredible! We hired Fresh Take for our September wedding at the Inn at Little Washington. I feel like we were SO lucky to have discovered them! Finding a wedding band took me hours and hours. I just couldn't decide! I was worried the band would sound good on their website and that I'd be disappointed in person. I listened to many bands that were OK, but when I listened to Fresh Take, I was immediately excited about their sound, energy, and talent-- but I still worried that they might not be that great on the day. They absolutely EXCEEDED our expectations. Fresh Take is so professional. They were easy to get in touch with, they have a great repertoire, and they kept everyone dancing all night! This band KNOWS what they are doing! They did a phenomenal job MCing during the reception. Our friends kept asking where we found them! Fresh Take was a major reason our wedding was so fun- I would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding and looking for a wedding band!

Fresh Take was the perfect choice for us. They were able to curate the perfect cocktail hour DJ-style music and then absolutely killed the reception live band time. The initial booking and planning was great, and as we got closer to the wedding, Daniel ensured we had all the details ironed out. You get a great song list to choose from, across multiple genres and decades. They don't include many country songs, which was perfectly fine for us but might be a surprise to others. We did add a brass player for an addition cost and it really was the icing on the cake. You could add two if you'd like. They include a sound engineer which keeps balance and adds another level of professionalism. They are one of Virginia's best wedding bands for a reason. You will not be disappointed.

Hire Fresh Take! Do it now! They were the highlight of our wedding. Dozens of our guests commented after the wedding about how great the band was. We worked with Fresh Take on our ceremony music, cocktail hour music, and reception music. The music was fabulous! What's more, Fresh Take was easy to work with and executed perfectly. For the ceremony, Fresh Take both provided excellent recommendations and was open to our ideas. Their pianist played a combination of classical music and pop music that made it a truly special event. Fresh Take also provided all of the audio for our officiant and other speakers. For cocktail hour, they offered to play their playlist or play a playlist we construct ourselves. We made our own playlist, and it played throughout the duration of the cocktail hour. The best part was the reception. Fresh Take ROCKED IT! This band is made up of incredible musicians - from vocals to guitar to base to drums to keys. It is incredibly rare to find a band that can execute classic rock, pop, soul, and motown. Fresh Take's covers were as good, if not better than the originals. We danced for hours and had a blast!! They also worked with us to have a performance by some of our guests. Another highlight of working with Fresh Take was Daniel (the band leader's) MC-ing. Daniel took care to specifically request name pronunciations for our wedding party and flawlessly guided the reception with his MC skills. We would hire Fresh Take again in a heart-beat! They were by far our best wedding vendor - providing amazing service throughout wedding planning and phenomenal music during our wedding. Fresh Take does a great job and they make it so easy to work with them. We can't recommend them enough!

From booking to wedding day, Fresh Take was absolutely wonderful to work with. Daniel was a pleasure to coordinate with and ensured that all pertinent details were accounted for and determined well beforehand—huge stress relief! Fresh Take includes the best of both DJ and band, MC-ing the reception, switching from pre-recorded tracks to live performances seamlessly. The 2 things people remember from weddings are the food and the music; i am so glad Fresh Take was available to make my dance floor exceptional! I received so many compliments on the amazing band. Even as an ex-band member I was hesitant to hire a band for my wedding. When East Coast Entertainment reached out to me, they were very professional and hooked me up with exactly the right band. I felt very secure through the entire transaction. Fresh Take is exceptional! First of all, Anita's voice is beyond words. As a bride, every brief moment I snagged during my ceremony or during our reception to just pause and enjoy was filled with the best music. With every memory made, Fresh Take was there. As crazy as wedding planning can be, working with Daniel in the months before our event were some of the most grounded planning sessions we had. These guys know what they are doing, have such a creative spirit and helped me pull off a great processional. My new husband didn't stand a chance! All tears even before our ring bearer walked. With Dan as our emcee he steered the evening in all the right directions. As a business person, I can safely say, hiring Fresh Take was one of the best purchases I have made in 10 years.

Band or DJ? It wasn't the first question to come up between me and my then-fiancé, but it was one of the first. I would have been fine with a DJ. My bride, however, spent her graduate school years in Nashville, where live music plays every day of the week. She wouldn't budge, and I'm glad she didn't. Fresh Take was such an amazing addition to our wedding. They really were an integral part, and helped keep the energy high all night. The band rocked it musically, but were also flexible with our schedule and getting our guests where they needed to be. Our first interaction with Daniel, the band leader, was via email. We asked if they could learn Lean On Me, a song that was an important closing moment at the summer camp where I met my bride. They enthusiastically agreed. Our next meeting with Daniel was on Zoom, where we just chatted about music. We said we didn't have a ton of song preferences, and that we wanted them to guide the feeling of the night. But we wanted it high energy and the dance floor rocking. He agreed, and then on the day of, the whole band delivered. They even took it upon themselves to learn an additional 80's song when I said that was my favorite. One final anecdote I think is worth mentioning. We watched the promo video, and the lead vocalist Anita really impressed both of us. On the night of the wedding, the band was doing slower songs during dinner. I was facing the band and many other guests who had their back to the band. At one point, the band started playing Etta James' "At Last," and I saw a see of faces stop eating and turn their faces as Anita sang the first note. The rocking energy was a blast, and those slow moments were just icing on an already great cake. If you're still shopping around, stop, and book this band!

Fresh Take was absolutely amazing at our wedding!  We knew early on we wanted a band instead of a standard DJ service, as we hoped people would be dancing all night. Fresh Take exceeded all of our expectations!  We can't think back to a single slow moment at the wedding once they started playing as the dance floor was packed all night long!  They have a great mix of new and classic hits to keep audiences of all ages involved, and know exactly when to play them.  They even took time to learn a new song for us as it is one of our favorites, "Higher Love," which was a big hit with our guests! Working with these guys and specifically Dan was extremely easy and stress-free.  We felt bad that we barely even had the chance to talk to them the night-of, but they took care of everything so seamlessly, including MC'ing the event.  If you want a fun, stress free, and memorable wedding with music for everyone, Fresh Take will exceed your expectations!

The band was absolutely incredible- they were easy to work with, are unbelievably talented, and helped create different experiences throughout the night, which is exactly what we wanted. We received a detailed outline of the music a few weeks before the wedding to help envision the flow from dinner, parent dances, and opening the dance floor which was helpful to ensure the experience matched what we were looking for. I even had a special request (a solo dance to wrap up the night with just my husband and I while the guests were getting sparklers ready) which they accommodated with ease. We had guests who thought some of the songs were recordings because the band was THAT good- everything was actually live. I cannot recommend them enough, do yourself a favor and hire them for your wedding!

I cannot say enough positive things about Fresh Take! Dan was absolutely wonderful to work with. We had to change our wedding date twice because of Covid, but Dan made the process so easy and was so understanding about our situation. Because of the date changes, we no longer had a group to play our ceremony music, but Dan offered Ken on keyboard and it was just was perfect! For the actual party, they were AMAZING! Every song was the perfect choice. They had everyone on the dance floor all night, including our parents, which had me shocked! They knew when to play newer songs and when to play older songs. Our guests could not stop talking about how good they were, especially Anita on vocals. One guest said they were the best band he'd ever heard, and I would have to agree! They also helped with little personal touches. They learned our first dance song. They led a trumpet processional to the lobby bar after the party was over. Our guests are still talking about that! If you're debating between a DJ and live band, go with the live band (specifically Fresh Take)!! It is 100% worth it and makes the evening so much more memorable for you and your family and friends.
