We literally danced the night away - well until the venue kicked us out - but we dance our booties off because the set was that good! Sure, Im biased towards my own wedding, but i’ve never been to one with a better DJ - and all of the wedding guests agreed. Rick captured our style and taste in music perfectly!
In addition to being a super talent Dj, Rick is just a great dude and awesome vendor. Wedding planing can be tough at times and some vendors can be such a hassle to deal with. This was NEVER the case with Rick. Rick was super accessible and quick to respond throughout the entire planning process. He knows the industry well - making recommendations, helping to work through some timeline logistics, and even doing some coordinating of his own. His positive attitude is contagious and professionalism greatly appreciated. I cannot recommend him enough. Thank you Dj Rick! You played a huge role in making our wedding day as special as it was.

He even had us fill out this awesome questionnaire to help him really understand what we were looking for in our big day. The music was extremely important to us as it can make or break your wedding. He even took the time to study what that music our culture listens to and how to blend it in with modern day tracks. Our guests had an amazing time and I have to say it was thanks to him. He was able to keep the young crowd engaged while the elderly crowd pleased. We never stopped dancing and the night just flowed perfectly. They say you get what you pay for, I think he exceeded our expectations tremendously. Thank you FreshTracks! Can’t wait to find another party to throw in dance night away with you.

The Time to study "their Music and their culture and blend it". I downloaded and analyzed 64 unique cultural tunes to customize Diana and Ara's soundtrack. I didn't just play them randomly, or play them Spotify without understanding them, I brought their music into a live set. We created something so unique, I'm so grateful that Diana and Ara were my clients and proud of the amazing wedding day we shared in.

moniker: Slick Rick, Pretty Ricky, Maestro of Fresh, Commander of Vibes. He wasn’t just the master of ceremony. Rick is a master of everything.
Rick wasn’t a mere part of the greatest day of our lives. He shaped it. An auditory architect. A blueprinter of beats. He became family somewhere between minute eleven and hour four of our initial phone call (yes, seriously). The vibes just did not stop, and that notion carried from conception to completion.
His musical knowledge ? Encyclopedic.
His intuition? Psychic.
His ability to take the wild, whacky music map in your brain, the deep cuts, the nostalgia triggers, and the emotional arcs, and spin it into a flawless, living soundtrack was truly otherworldly.
I would take a bullet for Rick, and I am 99.9% certain he would do the same for me if it meant saving the vibe. The pro of pros. A legend among mortals.
There was not a single person sitting. From millennials to geriatrics with questionable knees, everyone was moving. The man had the people in an absolute chokehold.

Everything from the ceremony to cocktail hour to speeches and reception went perfectly with his help. His live mixing and ability to read the vibes of our guests kept everyone on the dance floor all night. I can't recommend him enough! He is by far the best DJ you can hire in the Eastern Sierras and I would hire him for any event I do in the future.

He was so helpful throughout the process, meeting with us at coffee shops, scheduling phone calls and video chats, as well as frequent check-ins and help via email. Beyond the music, Rick was great at keeping the event on track, making announcements when needed, directing guests, MCing the reception, coordinating with the rest of the wedding vendors, and reading the energy of the room. The timing of our ceremony music was flawless and everyone complimented how wonderful the cocktail hour and dinner music was. As a music lover, I knew that the right music can make or break a party, but DJ Rick took it to another level. He worked closely with us to create a highly personalized playlist for everything from the guest arrival to our outddoor forest ceremony (which required special audio equipment due to being outdoors without electricity), intimate ceremony, cocktail hour, and really killed it with the reception. He got everyone dancing just as promised, all while playing tunes personally selected by me and my husband. He demonstrated patience as he walked us through the process with ease, allowing us to feel confident with our musical choices and our desires for the night. He was quick to offer suggestions if we wanted any, and created a timeline that was flawless and intentional for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and the reception. When there were slight adjustments needed, he handled them with ease and it allowed his creativity to shine. consultation with my husband and me to see if our vibes meshed. He didn’t rush us into making a decision to book him but actually encouraged us to really consider our options. However, after our initial consultation, we knew we needed him to be our DJ. And he did not disappoint.
Early in the process, he scheduled another consultation to just talk music so he could learn what we were into. Music was really important to us for our big day and working with Rick was easy and smooth - he had a music mapping process that was easy to fill out, covered all the bases, and offered room for collaboration.
When the day finally came, Rick absolutely killed it! He brought the energy! He meshed songs together that had no right sounding that good together. He asked people that weren’t dancing what kind of music he could play to get them on the dance floor. He really made sure everyone was enjoying themselves. Our friends and family are STILL talking about him and the incredibly memorable experience he provided. We are so grateful to have had him!

p everywhere we looked. This was a clear sign that Rick must be good...and boy was he GOOD! I first reached out in September 2021 to inquire about our September 2022 wedding at Forest Chapel and McCoy Station in Mammoth Lakes. We met up for coffee at Black Velvet and were sold. We booked him in October and he checked in every now and then until the wedding. We also booked his Photo Booth because it's a GREAT deal...and we're a big photo booth couple. We had a phone call closer to the wedding and we worked through a Google doc with all of the information he would need (couple info, songs, our preferences, etc.) as a team. He had sample playlists and offered multiple times if we wanted or needed suggestions on songs (first dance, walking down the aisle, etc.). I just can't say enough how AWESOME he was. He set everything up, was on time, the speakers didn't go out, his transitions were FLAWLESS, I mean...he was just perfect. We received SO many compliments during the reception about how the DJ was the best wedding DJ they had ever heard. And still to this day- a year later, our friends and family still talk about the music/party aka DJ Rick. THANK YOU RICK!!!

aried just like ours is so it felt like a perfect match. We loved how easygoing his personality was and felt he would be a perfect fit for our wedding day- not to mention the awesome funky mixes he creates.
What stands out the most about DJ Rick, is that he felt like more than just a DJ. He truly helped set the bar for our wedding day in terms of the energy, level of excitement and keeping all our guests engaged. He really becomes a friend during the whole process and makes you feel that your day is special. We ended up having unexpected snow during our wedding ceremony and he was able to totally rock it and kept our guests pumped up with the fun, in the moment music he played.
He was an outstanding MC for our reception, again keeping everyone super pumped up, and the dance floor was on FIRE. The floor was literally shaking and was filled with people dancing the entire reception. We had many people absolutely rave about how great our DJ was and we simply could not have been happier with selecting DJ Rick.
From start to finish he was so fun to work with and he is incredibly passionate about what he does which truly shows in the work he does.

and my now husband. So, naturally when we got engaged, we knew exactly who we wanted to DJ our wedding...the guy who had us falling in love on the dance floor in the first place, DJ Rick! Luckily, he was all for it! He helped us plan out the musical portions of the wedding, he met with us quite a few times before our wedding, and he made sure to go above and beyond to make sure our day would be extra special...and it was! He had the dance floor filled up until closing time. I quite literally had to tell the guests that it was time to go home! If given the opportunity to work with DJ Rick again, you best believe we will!

redible job of playing a good mix of music that is favorable to the couple, friends, family etc.. Rick has the best energy which really made the overall experience working with him; not just at the wedding itself, but also with every meeting leading up to the big day as well. He's very organized and communicative throughout the whole planning process. We appreciated the frequent touch points with him letting us know what we could expect, what we needed to provide him with and when as well as what we could expect for the day of. We also loved that he always made an effort to meet up with us for coffee when we were in town to chat / get to know us as a couple.
Couldn't recommend Rick more to DJ your wedding or big event!

Really appreciated that Rick worked with us through his music mapping document ahead of time to get the right vibes for ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dance floor. And he truly executed the vision! The dance floor was on fire, he was a fun MC throughout the night, and it was overall so seamless.

ld not recommend Rick any more strongly. He is so immensely talented at what he does as a DJ and he has a passion for his work. He brings his heart and soul into the entire process. He gets to know you as a couple and makes the process personalized to your exact tastes. Rick uses a "music mapping" document and shared playlists to absolutely nail the vibe of what you are looking for in your event from the pre-ceremony music to cocktail hour to dinner through the reception dance floor. He absolutely crushed it for us. The music was exactly what we wanted.
Beyond the music, Rick brings a great energy to your big day as a master of ceremonies and makes everyone feel welcome. He knows exactly when to raise the energy levels and when to keep things low key. He's also the ultimate hype man. We struggled with postponing our original date due to COVID and Rick's positivity and vision of how the day would be laid out kept us moving forward. uipment up and down the stairs a few times. Dude is nothing but positivity and good vibes. The planning process was easy, he took us through a whole music plan, got to know our style, our wedding party, etc. He did an awesome job with the shoe game, which Rick introduced us to and was a huge hit at the reception. He had the dance floor hopping all night long, and not to be overlooked, his MC skills were on point. 10 out of 5 stars.

erally we ended up on plan C for their ceremony. Two valiant attempts were made at plan B on this stormy mountain day. We got soaked. Luckily I had a spare set of socks in my truck! BOSS. Musically we did some deep house cuts later in the night. The love in the room kept building, when we brought the night home w some Rufus everyone circled around Alistair and Courtney, not a soul on that dance floor was thinking about plan C. I will never forget that. So much love on that mountain.

"Completely reads the room" that's the art of the DJ right? What does that mean exactly? I find myself asking that question all the time.
Here's what I'm currently sure of you have to be PRESENT.
Completely present, a bit vulnerable, open to taking chances, you have to trust your instincts, your experience and preparation. From there you let the brush take the next stroke.
Virginia's spotlight list had some throwback Southern Rock tunes in it. There was a moment during dinner, she and her father were standing by the head table, I saw them, I was just feeling "Long cool Woman in black dress" from the spotlight list. I don't play that tune all that often.
Dropped it and IT Landed, Total moment she and her dad danced and smiled as if they were on their own dance floor rising out of the room. I may I have been the only one that even noticed that magical moment but I won't forget it.

out our taste in music and determining what vibe we wanted at our wedding without too much work on our end. He was adept at providing creative boundaries and didn’t hesitate to provide constructive feedback. He perfectly walked the fine line between listening to our preferences and incorporating our distinct style while also knowing exactly what works best from his endless experience.
When working with Rick you quickly realize how much he genuinely loves music and knows how to use it to connect people. He intuitively knew exactly what to play and when to get everyone out on the dance floor to keep the party going. He is an artist at mixing songs and a true musical talent.
Rick also brings his own energy during the whole wedding. So many times I looked over to see him bonding with our guests or dancing and enjoying the evening with the rest of us. Once the event was over I can’t remember how many people came up to me and said “your DJ was fantastic, where did you find him!?”
My suggestion, hire Rick and let the man do his thing. He’s a pro.

om day one Rick was amazing with his communication and made me feel comfortable with all of my decisions. I met up with him before the wedding and I instantly knew he was going to completely rock my wedding- and he did! Rick is your go to guy and makes you so excited about your special day. His enthusiasm is contagious. You will not regret hiring him! He went above and beyond for my wedding and I will never forget him and will forever grateful for him. He helped recreate a song for our first dance by having his cousin personally sing the song for us, helped me create a memorable aisle entrance song for me to walk down to with a voice over for my husband, and created such fun atmosphere for my husband and guests.
