We got engaged in June, and we began to think about dates for the wedding shortly thereafter. We already knew we wanted to have a small, intimate wedding either at the end of the year or early the following year. As we started to explore our venue options, we started to come around to the idea of having an autumn wedding. Sharing warm, hearty food with friends and family, with a backdrop of fall foliage all sounded so alluring.
We loved the idea of getting married right in our neighborhood, so we initially just searched for local restaurants that could host our small ceremony. After learning that the chapel at Mount Auburn Cemetery had just opened after renovations, we quickly decided to hold our ceremony. We have been on many walks through the cemetery during our dating years, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get married in that setting with the leaves changing colors all around us.” – Cecilia & Mo
