Very Disappointed – Unprofessional and Last-Minute Cancellation
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Jasmin the bartender. I hired her for my bridal shower, and ...when I initially inquired about her services, she assured me that she had the proper insurance required by my venue.
However, just four days before my event, after I had already paid her deposit, I was informed that her insurance did not meet the venue’s requirements. Jasmin then told me I would need to pay an additional $175 to update her insurance, even though I was originally told she had the correct coverage.
I explained that I could not afford this unexpected expense, especially so close to my bridal shower. I decided to contact her insurance company myself to verify the cost and was quoted only $40 for the required update.
I even offered to pay the $40 out of my own pocket to avoid any issues. After I offered to pay the $40, Jasmin suddenly lowered her price from $175 to $75. This made the situation even more frustrating because I couldn’t understand why I was initially being charged $175 when the insurance company had quoted me significantly less.
Despite my willingness to work with her and help cover the insurance update, Jasmin ultimately canceled her services just four days before my bridal shower and refused to return my deposit, even though she was the one who canceled.
This situation caused an unbelievable amount of unnecessary stress. My entire bridal shower was at risk of being canceled because of the insurance issue. I had to practically beg my venue to allow me to continue with my event, agreeing to remove all alcohol just so I could still celebrate with my family and friends.
What upsets me the most is that I did everything I could to make the situation work. I was willing to pay an additional expense that I was never informed about when booking, yet I was still left without a bartender and without my deposit.
As someone planning such an important event, the last thing you expect is for a vendor to leave you scrambling at the last minute.
I would not recommend her services based on my experience. If you’re considering booking Jasmin, I strongly encourage you to verify all insurance requirements directly with your venue, confirm any additional fees, and get everything in writing before paying a deposit.
A bridal shower is supposed to be a happy and memorable occasion, not one filled with unnecessary stress because of a vendor’s last-minute cancellation.
