Pastor Darryl officiated our wedding on January 17, 2026, at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego, and we truly couldn’t have asked for anyone more meaningful to share that moment with us. I’ve known Pastor Darryl since elementary school, when he was my pastor through his church’s afterschool program. What began as a connection from childhood has grown into a lifelong friendship. He has been a mentor, a steady source of support, and a father figure to me over the years. Having someone who has been part of my life for so long officiate my marriage to Jacob made the day even more special and personal. Pastor Darryl flew all the way from Pennsylvania to marry us, and that gesture says so much about the kind of person he is… generous, caring, and deeply committed to the people he loves. He took the time to make our ceremony feel warm, genuine, and true to who we are as a couple. It was heartfelt without feeling formal or distant, and he helped create an intimate, down-to-earth moment that we’ll treasure for the rest of our lives. He walked us through everything we needed for the day of and even things to keep in mind when getting our marriage license. We loved the fact that our ceremony was truly unique to us. We appreciated the opportunity to individualize each piece of language, which can be religious, secular, or a combination of both. His homily was a beautifully crafted story of our love from start to present, and even looking into the future. We requested he conclude our ceremony with a spanish blessing to honor my husband's spanish heritage, which was so beautifully written! We received compliments all night from our friends and family about how lovely and personable our ceremony was! We also had opted to do premarital counseling together, which consisted of a few sessions that were easy to schedule. Darryl was extremely flexible. I would highly recommend this valuable exercise with your partner to practice open communication!

l zoom call, we knew he was just what we were looking for. We had several meetings with him before our big day where he asked thoughtful questions and took time to get to know us and listen to our story. He walked us through the process and made sure we were comfortable- he also did a great job at the rehearsal! The ceremony he delivered on the day was PERFECT - it was traditional yet modern, included God and our family and friends, it was heartwarming and also filled with laughter. premarital sessions were wonderful and we felt comfortable throughout the whole process - we are very happy we chose to do the counseling. There are no words to describe the exceptional job he did as our officiant. We are not very religious, but some of our family members are, and we wanted to honor that. He tailored the ceremony entirely to us incorporating traditional aspects of a ceremony with a personalized twist. He incorporated our best friend who is no longer with us, added humor, and an all around happy vibe. After the ceremony was over we had more people than we could count compliment Rev. Darryl and tell us how beautiful the ceremony was. Rev.
