It was important to us to have a band that would play a range of music, not just the "typical" wedding songs. They asked us to make a list of songs we liked and they did their best to incorporate those songs or similar songs to the set list. They also helped us plan a unique "grand entrance" that we were envisioning! They really made our vision for our entire reception come to life. If you are looking for a band, look no further! Funk Almighty made our wedding unforgettable!

also knew that a typical wedding band (no offense to those) were not going to do it for me. I feel lucky to have come across Funk Almighty and to have booked them for my reception. Their manager, Daryl, was very professional throughout the booking process. We hopped on a phone call after I inquired and he walked through all of the details with me, including providing pricing immediately. One of the first things that jumped out at me was Daryl's offer that the band would learn ANY song that we requested for our event. That was not typical based on my research. Leading up to the wedding, Daryl and I checked in a couple times to make sure the schedule was in place. I was really pleased with the communication before the event. We talked about what kind of set I was envisioning for the night and they delivered. The band was able to let us use their audio system for the ceremony and toasts, which was convenient. They set up early in the day with plenty of time in case any issues arose. Finally, once the time came to dance, they blew me away. Seriously, I had so many guests come up to me and express they COULD NOT BELIEVE how great the band was. The band played a lot of traditional wedding songs, but took a lot of solos between the trombone, trumpet, sax, keyboard, and guitar. I had asked Daryl for a lot of solos and improvisation, so I don't think you can do better than Funk Almighty if that's what you want. But, I have a feeling they can play the tunes straighter if you prefer. The singers were incredible, especially the female singer. They had awesome stage presence and were actually interacting with the guests, making sure the party never stopped. When the time for the finale came, everyone was spent from 2 hours+ of straight getting down. I could not recommend Funk Almighty any more. As a musician myself, I am EXTREMELY picky about music performances, and they knocked it out of the park. My only point of disappointment was that the venue we chose was very boomy, which made the echo a bit unpleasant if you were far from the stage. Obviously, that's in no way the band's fault -- I just wish I had thought of it earlier. Also, make sure that you provide Funk Almighty with whatever insurance details your venue requires with plenty of time beforehand. We had a bit of a scare the night before, but the band and venue were able to work something out.

They bring immaculate vibes and even came out to jam on the dance floor with us for a song which was SO fun. Incredible quality for the value and Daryl, the primary point of contact, was very responsive, flexible, and made sure the night was what we wanted. Once they started to get into their set, they rocked the house! Some of our guests said it was the best part of the night with how good they performed and how entertaining they were to watch! The overall experience was terrific and even a 9-piece band was well within our budget. If you really are on the fence about booking a live band, let this be the review to book this group because you will not be disappointed!

I can’t begin express how cool it was to watch our request come to life like that!! And it was such a personalized touch that made our special day even more unforgettable. Aside from that working with them was a breeze. The rest of the night was great too but I really can’t overstate how much we appreciate them for going above and beyond with our request. They kept the party going non stop with an amazing playlist and just their pure energy. I don't think the dance floor was empty once. We had the best ceremony and reception because of them. Daryl (the guitarist and band manager) was responsive, flexible, and understanding through all our communication from start to finish and worked really well with our other vendors. They did everything we could think of to be a perfect fit for our wedding plans, guests, and venue. As a musician and live music nut myself, the band was one of my top priorities for the wedding and I was really picky with the band's sound when we were choosing. This group is really talented both individually and as a group, the fun they have up there playing together is contagious, and they're extremely versatile in the music that's in their wheelhouse. They gathered a great sense for the kind of music we wanted from just a few pointers in the right direction. Like their name says, they get the bass line going and the people moving - we had guests out on the dance floor that we never thought we'd ever get dancing! Highly recommend Funk Almighty in whatever configuration and whichever members/size you might be thinking of! We had a great time working with them and wouldn't think twice about doing it again.

During the reception, we had the 6-piece band play. The dance floor was always packed and the music was amazing. Outside of the wedding day, they were super easy to plan with, knowing exactly what to do to make everything go perfectly. I would highly recommend adding them to your wedding day!!!!!!

Daryl, the band manager, is highly communicative and helped tailor music for every aspect of our day; we had an acoustic guitar for our ceremony, a jazz ensemble for cocktail hour, and their 10-person band for the reception. We also used Funk Almighty's MC service for the evening and Jared did a fantastic job ensuring the events stayed on schedule. What sets Funk Almighty apart from other bands is their energy, they had everyone on the dance floor! Our guests raved about the music and I can confidently say they were right, Funk Almighty is the best!
