Day of, Gabby and her assistant were so fun to have around and were so kind, really knowing they wanted our special day to go perfectly. The shots she had taken of my husband and I, our wedding party, our families, and even the second line jazz band are flawless. These photos are ones we will look back on and remember this incredible day, that she captured so beautifully. Even after the wedding, Gabby was so helpful to both my mother and my MIL helping them order photos, and doing it so graciously! ful shots – they felt natural, captured tender moments, and didn’t feel heavily filtered or posed. Once we heard back from Gabby about our initial inquiry, we were hooked. Her personality really shown through the text; we could feel how passionate she was and how much it meant to her to capture these moments. Gabby has been the easiest to work with – we modified our package probably 6 or 7 times – and she was always incredibly informative of what options there were, and even excited when we would bring an idea to the table. Gabby even modified our timeline so they could photograph further into the night because she wanted to get more fun shots! Throughout the buildup, Gabby was very communicative, which was especially appreciated given we weren’t in the same states! Day of our wedding, and Gabby and Scarlet immediately put us at ease. They were pleasant and friendly – the types of people you meet who you felt you’ve known your whole life. We barely knew what to do, and Gabby and Scarlet were there, pointing us in the right direction, making us laugh, capturing natural shots that we now cherish. Gabby kept telling us how excited she was to develop these shots, and all of this led us to such a relaxed experience – we had *fun* and forgot about all the stress, anxiety, and nerves that typically surround such a big event. Our entire list of photos with family and wedding party was wrapped up right on time for our pre-ceremony cocktail hour, which was such a blessing – their punctuality and professionalism was really appreciated! Truly can’t say enough positive things about the planning/photographing of our wedding. After the wedding (literally the next morning) Gabby had already sent us a preview of one of the shots, and that afternoon sent us another! She was very communicative of the timeline we should expect for the full gallery and sent us previews along the way! We got our full gallery about 5-6 weeks after the wedding, which was during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, and we felt that was a really quick turnaround for it! We are so thrilled with the gallery – the photos are everything we wanted! There’s so many special moments and people we love captured forever! We can’t wait to see the physical album – we just put together our choices and are already excited for it!

We also had to make a number of changes to the wedding due to Covid, and she was so supportive and flexible throughout that process, offering to work with us however we decided to re-structure the wedding. On the wedding day, she and her partner were a joy to be around - they made me feel comfortable, and captured amazing moments while not being too "in your face." She also surprised me with a few unexpected complimentary add-ons, like extra coverage and an extra spread in my album - which was incredibly generous!!! The pictures came out beautifully and we have had the best time reminiscing about our big day through her photos.

to two different locations for both my bridal portraits and our micro-wedding that we planned last minute due to  COVID. I'm so pleased that we got to work together-I knew she would be a good fit for us when I first came across her work. I loved meeting her to go over her work and style and she helped me make several decisions as I moved through the wedding process. She is so easy to work with and goes out of her way in these unusual and difficult times to make all of our sessions feel wonderful. Her photos are just incredible -we could not be more pleased. Gabby also turned around the photos quickly-we had no trouble with them and loved  sharing them with our family and friends. She honored our family traditions, and we loved every minute working with her. All of my family members love her, and she really feels like part of the family. Every single one of our engagement shots came out more than we could have ever hoped for. It took over a month just to pick out a favorite for the save the date because they are that good. to the Family we built in our "Mansion" home just over the Mississippi River from St. Louis, our love (for us anyway) has been "Legend." At the inspiration of our relationship... a love story written in books and set to screen in the Starz series "Outlander." We might not be able to cite chapter and verse from the author's books... but we are loyal fans of the story, nonetheless. To be fair, we have to give credit to the wonderful actors who brought these incredible characters to life. It was their passion that made us want that kind of love. The kind that endures forever. And so, we decided to get married where the characters of our favorite love story got married... in the same room... at the same church... in the heart of Scotland. Dressed in replica period garments... illuminated by candlelight... brought in by bagpipes... with the Outlander score playing in background... presided over by a Scottish Officiant who spoke English and Gaelic... we recited the same vows... were handfasted and married. It was beautiful... It was the best day of my life. My wife and I just celebrated our One-Year Wedding Anniversary last month. Just the two of us, our boy and the puppies... quietly sharing a slice of anniversary cake in our kitchen. With the Coronavirus Pandemic... our "social calendar" has been more than a little less filled. Stay-at-Home Orders and Quarantines as the norm, we've been able to spend more time together than we have in years. And while this has been (and continues to be) an awful time for our planet... it has also brought blessings... even the small ones. Many people have spent their time staying at home watching Netflix, Hulu, YouTube and the ever-present Tik-Tok... so have we, lol. But we've also looked at countless pictures, feeling priceless emotions, and re-telling fantastic stories. And one of our favorites... was the time we went to Scotland and married our best friend. And you know what makes those memories live again...? What helps us to never forget ever little detail of that magical afternoon and evening...? The thing that we'll be able to share with every generation of loved ones...? ...the absolutely phenomenal pictures that Gabby took! Gabby Chapin is one of the best people I have ever had the honor and pleasure of knowing. We were so immensely lucky to have been able to have her as our photographer for our Special Day. She is smart, talented, funny, empathetic, understanding, patient, and professional. She literally flew to Scotland, spent the entire morning, afternoon and early evening with us and our Wedding Party. Then spent the next day with us to travel all the up through the Highlands for an additional photoshoot... and was nothing but a joy to have along with us... so much above and beyond the invaluable pictures she took. The speed by which (even as we were in another country) she was able to process just a few photos was exciting. And after returning home, settling back in, and getting back to "normal life," we were impressed and overjoyed to have our completed Wedding Album finished so quickly. I cannot say enough about Gabby and Gabby Chapin Studios. If you're looking for a photographer... look no further. If you want to immortalize your Wedding, and you don't get Gabby... than you may as well not use anyone.

er own dime to assist. The Rest: My event had many moving parts between a horse & carriage entrance, fireworks, streamers & many beautiful settings for photography. Though I provided a lot of context on shots I wanted at our wedding, even providing various Instagram handles etc (this was an evening wedding as well), there were certainly many missed opportunities that have prompted the 2 star review. Also, my husband was not pleased as well as we both had very high expectations. There is no doubt she has done great work for others so I’d urge other brides to ensure they have the “right fit” & to 100% ensure she has shot at your location before as I’m sure this would have made a difference as well (she didn’t have experience shooting at my venue and didn’t really value visiting the location beforehand to properly familiarize herself so that was another issue). But, overall, results were pretty satisfactory with regard to the quality of the photos (there were one or two really good shots while the others were okay). I didn’t agree with a lot of the edits she made (lighting choices & not really being thoughtful on how my dress should have been laid etc ~ fine details that I would have appreciated from a more meticulous shooting photographer). I’ve also seen some gorgeous shots from other photographers at the same venue & it was just so disappointing they were not everything we’d hoped for considering how amazing my actual wedding was. Not to mention our photos took a month to get back to us.

but I was struggling to find a photographer that fit that aesthetic. There are no shortage of wedding photographers in New Orleans, but none seemed to feel right until I stumped upon Gabby Chapin's website. My was first introduction to her work was through a First Look for an Elopement she shot a few years ago. You could literally feel the emotion coming through the pictures. I was immediately sold, and we booked her for our New Orleans destination wedding the same week. Having Gabby as our wedding photographer was hands down one of the best decisions we made. We met up with her on one of our planning visits, and she immediately put us at ease. Gabby knows exactly what she is doing. She isn't afraid to lighten family dynamics (family portraits can be tricky at times), and she got every single shot I dreamed of and then some. Most importantly, Gabby is seriously the nicest person ever! My friends and family are still raving about how sweet and authentic she was. She was on the dance floor with us, and it was like she was a part of the family by the end of the night. We just got our wedding photos back yesterday, and I seriously can say without a doubt that they are perfect. We are in awe. We love you Gabby!!

Every single picture she and Scarlet (our second photographer) shot were absolutely amazing and I have had a hard time picking a few to show to family because they are all THAT good. She captured every inch and detail of my day and I’m so thankful for that because it went by so fast. Now I have perfect lifetime captures of all the details I feel like I missed or didn’t get to fully enjoy. The best part about her is she is so wonderful to interact with on this day- an absolute calming presence and really walks you through everything. She was there for every moment without being “demanding”- she never tried to stage any portraits (outside of the ones I requested) and she snagged every single candid fluidly. At the end of the day I didn’t feel exhausted by pictures but like I had made a new friend and I walked away confident that she had taken some amazing photos. I cannot recommend her enough. Her prices are amazing and her communication style and delivery was so refreshing to work with.

During the wedding she handled all my group and individual shot requests flawlessly (there were many, oops!), and was so cheerful and optimistic it was hard not to feel at ease during one of the most stressful times a girl could have! custom to the type of coverage we wanted. The day of, she was amazing at keeping everyone on schedule, and we were right on time throughout the night! She had the shot list we requested printed out and marked off as we went to make sure we got everything we wanted. We were an out of town couple so we weren’t able to meet Gabby before our wedding day, but we felt totally comfortable around her. We wanted a balanced mix of both candid moments and those classic portraits, and man did she deliver just that. I have no clue how we are going to pick out pictures to print or put into an album because we love them ALL! Gabby is so genuine and down to earth - you definitely want her on your wedding day! Her second shooter was also incredible! On top of all of that, she is so organized - from the timeline and shot list that I already mentioned to the gallery she delivers: I am able to jump to different parts of the night (getting ready, portraits, reception, etc) for viewing. Which is really nice when you have so many amazing photos to go through! We highly highly recommend Gabby!!!

Gabby was also wonderful with all our relatives, and always present without being intrusive. Gabby didn't stop working from the moment her time started - her work ethic is incredible. And I feel like I've made a friend for life, too. A friend who got married a few months before I did referred me to Gabby, and I'm so happy she did. I can't recommend Gabby highly enough!
