n incredible job of making sure he gets that for you (without overtiring you with pictures) and your guests (somehow is a ninja photographer, so these pictures never look forced). Along the way, he brings his wit and levity to the picture process. The results are stunning, and very consistent with with his gallery pictures. What drew me in when looking at his portfolio were the distinctive tones, they are often vivid and striking, with colors/lighting that pop out of the page. That being said, there's always pictures with a more muted palette to evoke that kind of dreaminess we all feel at some point on that day. Last, but certainly not least, is that his described "killer dancing pics" are true to his word-- it's pretty hard to get pictures of people dancing at the end of their wedding night where they don't look terrible, but somehow it happened. Investing in photography should be one of of the most important parts of your wedding budget, you're spending so much money on this night that you deserve to be able to re-live it for many many more nights. So don't think about it too much, just do it- you'll be glad you did!

shot my friends' wedding in Oakland and his photos are fun, beautiful, and have stunning composition and color. His blog stories were also very helpful to give me ideas when planning my wedding and picking a venue. He was incredibly responsive leading up to the wedding and was so helpful in talking through wedding ideas and answering all my questions when everything was up in the air due to COVID. I appreciate that he was flexible with our budget because it didn't quit fit in his packages. The day of the wedding, he was really great at making us feel comfortable, he worked to get interesting angles of the celebration and guests which I loved. He was really so comfortable and fun to work with and very professional. We LOVE all of our photos!

The ceremony photos and couples portraits also came out beautifully. He helped us navigate issues with photographing an evening ceremony, really took advantage of the venue as a backdrop and helped us relax throughout the day. And we loved that Gabriel himself is both a real pro and super laid-back and easy to get along with. Our wedding was originally planned for June 2020. Gabriel was the first vendor to reach out to us when the pandemic struck. He let us know he’d work with us however our plans might unfold, and talked to us several times to help us think through options. When we eventually settled on a slightly crazy plan for a 30-person pop-up wedding in The Presidio in San Francisco in October, Gabriel was quick to get on board and help us figure out how to pull it off. Having a willing partner in crime took a load off our shoulders during a stressful time. On the day of our renegade wedding, Gabriel showed up ready for whatever might happen. He helped us improvise our way through the day, and have a great time. He steered us towards some beautiful spots for photos, and worked with our imperfect location (bad angles, inconvenient shadows, wind…) without missing a beat. And the photos? Gorgeous. We love how he captured our small group of family and friends and our COVID wedding day – masks and covert hugs included. Someday when all this pandemic craziness is over we might have another, bigger celebration – and if we do, Gabriel will definitely be there. For now, though, we couldn’t be happier with the photos of our truly joyous wedding day. Hire Gabriel. You’ll be so happy you did.

Wedding planning during COVID times has not been easy, but he was always flexible with protocols and respected social distancing. His style of photographing is very natural and puts you at ease. He captures people in their natural element and the moods of the context. He is also very comfortable with animals and photographing them, which was helpful for us and our pup Lulu, who can be anxious and energetic. Gabriel was also willing to talk to us about our budget and meet us where we were at. Highly recommend!

hotos will be our memories for years to come. If you want prescriptive, posed photos of you and your favorite people, I'd recommend you go elsewhere. However, if you want to capture the heart and soul of you and your partner, friends, and family on your wedding day, there isn't a photographer more suited than Gabriel Harber. Word of advice to others shopping around for a wedding photographer: you and your partner will end up spending *most* of your wedding day with the photographer you choose (probably more time than you will spend with your bridal party). So make sure you choose someone you'd truly you'd want to be around. Gabriel was a unique and calming presence throughout the day, and we had the best time hanging out with him as he captured our day through wind, sun, sleet, and snow. He made sure that the day ran smoothly, had excellent planning and coordination, and was extremely flexible, rolling with the punches and adapting to whatever came along. He's truly worth every penny, and we'd hire him again in a second.

to have Gabriel there for both events. Gabriel has an innate ability to capture beautiful, candid shots. Good photography was the top priority for both of us for our weddings. We began looking for photographers early in the planning process. Gabriel was a suggestion from a friend who had him on her short list of wedding photographers for her own wedding. After we saw samples of weddings from various photographers, Gabriel was the only wedding photographer we met in person. We were sold on him and on his work. We did an elopement session (3 hour block) for our SF City Hall wedding. Gabriel has shot at SF City Hall many times and was able to interject and get us the best spot in the building to have our ceremony (https://www.instagram.com/p/BiSnALdlRS6/?taken-by=gabrielharber) that day which we greatly appreciated. We spent the first 1-1.5 hours in City Hall taking pictures then wandered over to Potrero Hill for some more outside/candid shots (https://www.instagram.com/p/BiSmwh7lce0/?taken-by=gabrielharber). We were tasked with figuring out some nice places for post-ceremony pictures that day. When it was clear Kevin and I had failed (i.e. we chose to aimlessly wander around random parts of Potrero Hill), Gabriel helped us get it together and picked out a couple spots by the water and Bay Bridge to finish out the session. The pictures came out great and we ended up using one of our SF City Hall pictures on our wedding invitations for the NY celebration. We flew Gabriel out to New York State for the bigger, more traditional wedding ceremony and it was easy to work with him when coordinating that trip. We sorted out his hotel room, flights, and rental car leading up to the day for him and he did a good job of telling us what he would or wouldn't need for the trip. Gabriel is easy going, full of stories and adaptable. He was super fun to have as our photographer; our guests came up to us many times throughout the night to underscore that fact. Immediately following our ceremony, he easily herded all 150 of our guests together for a group photo. During the cocktail hour, we wandered off for bride/groom shots. Gabriel, having never been to the wedding site prior to the day of the event, was able to pick out beautiful spots for pictures. The pictures turned out incredible. He also did an impeccable job of wandering around the reception to get photos of all our guests. Finally, Gabriel is crazy fast at turning around the photos. We got all 900+ of our photos in THREE DAYS; the event was on a Saturday and we had the photos by the following Tuesday. We were and continue to be beyond thrilled with his work. Gabriel is very direct and means what he says. We saw this at both of our events this year. Very rarely is there any ambiguity around what was expected of us or what was to be expected from him. We'd hire Gabriel again in a heartbeat!

lls a story with each pictures he takes. He has great energy and was great with our guests. He allowed others to take pictures but made sure he had his turn so that he would capture all the moments we wanted. The colors in his pictures are very vivid and caught many different types of emotions and moments that happened during the wedding. There is a lot of personality to his pictures and he is very professional and loves what he does. He was quick to put up our pictures on his blog so that we could share with our friends and families right away. We got our gallery sooner than I thought we would and are very happy with our selection of pictures. We are still in the middle of reviewing our wedding book and still have to receive our CDs, but I'm sure those will be just as great from everything we have seen so far.

ce we were working with a tight budget and Gabriel was 3 1/2 hours away. However, he went out of his way to make it work for us. And, believe me, he was worth triple what we paid. (I even researched in the area and found his prices comparable to much less talented local photographers.) I echo all the other reviews on here about what a pleasure it was to work with Gabriel and how breathtakingly beautiful our photos turned out. And, above that, I loved how so many of our friends and family were captured in their true essence. I felt like he captured all the touching, magical, and hilarious moments of our day that I was trying to do mentally. A quick disclaimer. Gabriel is a blast to have at your wedding and will challenge 6 year-olds to dance-offs and bust out Thriller. And, a quick shout-out to Hardy. I don't even know where Gabriel ended and Hardy began, but the two together were a riot, kept us all in stitches, and took the best pictures I've ever seen (of course, I may be a little biased ;)
