We hired Gail as our celebrant for our September 2023 wedding. We are from the west coast and hired Gail remotely over zoom. She quoted us $1,000 and that price included “all the b...
ells and whistles”. We have since learned the average celebrant/officiant does not charge more than $400-$500.
Communication with Gail was fine leading up to the day, but afterwards has been a different story.
I handed my vow book back to her after reciting my vows during our ceremony. Naturally, I was distracted and forgot to ensure the book had been given to a bridesmaid by Gail for safe keeping.
We realized this after the wedding, and sent her an email letting her know it must still be in her possession. She emailed back a week later letting us know she has it, and will mail it back to us.
Relieved, I was so thankful to be getting this sentimental item returned. Unfortunately, months later, this is the last response we ever received from Gail.
We have followed up with her numerous times since. Radio silence. I even went out of my way to comment on her public Facebook posts she’s actively posting letting her know she hasn’t sent it yet, and she has been deleting my comments instead of responding to them.
My husband and I are absolutely heartbroken over this. What is an extremely cherished item of ours from our special day is now unaccounted for and we now assume we will never get it back. By ignoring us and deleting my comments, it’s obvious Gail does not care.
Gail, presuming you will read this, you have left us no option but to share our disappointment with others. You have decided to ignore us, and we hope others think twice before believing the other ‘outstanding’ reviews about your service.

us. We talked about everything we needed from the marriage license to script and plan. She prepared the script weeks before and sent it to us so we could read it and aside from the fact that it was very practical to have it ahead of time, she absolutely had me in tears just reading it. We had the chance to add a few things. She checked in with us a few days before to make sure we had everything lined up, we discussed the plan, what her role would be, from communicating with the DJ and photographer, to going over script again and what to expect so all could be in sync during the ceremony. It made us feel at ease during planning time knowing that everything would go smoothly and it did. The result was a wonderful ceremony. Gail was invested and gave us an amazing performance. Her words, her demeanor, her thoughtfulness, she made it so special. We did a comic book themed wedding and she even went along with our kids doing a fighting pose stunt during the ceremony. o would take the ceremony seriously but someone who would make everything feel less nerve wrecking and heartwarming. Someone who wouldn’t just marry us to marry us and read word per word with a “let’s get over this already” attitude. Well I found Gail on a website called Wedfolio I believe, there were a couple that I showed interested in but Gail’s way of approaching me and making everything seem okay especially during these times of this pandemic, made me feel comfortable enough to continue discussing my options with her. Someone else’s first question was well are you worried about a ceremony with about 30 people in a house during this pandemic? Like seriously? Are you here to marry me or to judge me? Gail did not make me feel that way at all. She made every conversation fun but made it clear to me or everything I’d need. She made sure I had my marriage license first and prepared me for my wedding day. If you book Gail you will not regret it. She’s very personable and motherly like and at the end of the day, you want someone who is genuinely happy to marry you, not someone who will do it for the money or because it’s there job.
