Gala Bakery

Andrea was lovely; I live in the UK and was planning my wedding from thousands of miles away. When I called and let her know that I was hoping to get a cake tasting in while I was still visiting with my family, she made special arrangements to ensure we could have a tasting before I left. The cake was beautiful. We made all the decisions on the day of the tasting and after that it was just a matter of getting her payment and letting her know when to drop it off on the day. NO concern whatsoever! Our guests were so complimentary about the cake, both in appearance and everyone was shocked at how good it was, especially when it was revealed there were three different flavours! Buttercream can be hard to find, good buttercream even harder. Gala Bakery hit it out of the park for us.

Andrea created our wedding cake for our recent October 15th wedding and it was absolutely gorgeous! Not only was it beautiful, it was delicious as well! They have a wonderful selection of cakes and fillings at an extremely reasonable price, especially for wedding cakes. We had buttercream with simple piped decorations, which was perfectly elegant and exactly what I had pictured! Andrea delivered the cake and even placed fresh flowers from my florist, and my cake topper as well. I highly recommend Gala Bakery for your wedding cake needs!

I was so so pleased to have Gala bakery bake our wedding cake!! They made my sisters cake about 6 years ago and I still drool over the memory of how good it tasted! I knew I needed them to make my cake too. Without making an appointment they were able to accommodate a walk in tasting. We tried so many amazing cakes and it didnt make me feel sick like some other places I had tried just to have some comparisons. Andrea was amazing in helping me think of ideas for a rustic cake and she created the most perfect thing at a totally reasonable price! Also, our venue at Nestldown was a tricky location and I wasn't sure how the transportation was going to work out...But seamlessly (as far as I know!) the cake made it there beautifully. I was so so happy on our wedding day to see it! It was better than I could have asked for and it tasted AMAZING!!! The only 2 regrets I have is that I wish I ate more of it and that the staff escaped before I could thank them! I will have to go back and have another cake made:) Thank you so much! It was perfect.

Our cake was beautiful, delicious and was exactly what we had wanted. They also try to work with your budget, so they can make most cakes out of buttercream, which is cheaper than fondant.

Gala was one of our vendors preferred vendors and I know why. We had looked at another bakery who told us the design we wanted could only be done in fondant. We hate fondant and I don't want to spend twice as much on my cake as my dress because of it. Then we went to Gala Bakery! I showed Andrea the design we wanted and immediately said she could do that in buttercream instantly cutting the cost by 2/3rds! Looking at her other cakes, I have no doubt she could make anything out of buttercream which is what she specializes in (a rarity). We got to taste the different kinds of cake and filling and mix and match to make each layer how we wanted. There was no cost difference to make each layer different which I appreciated. After we payed the deposit, I emailed her a few times with various questions and changes and she got back to me in under 30 minutes each time. My mother doesn't get back to me that quickly! The biggest thing I was worried about was our cake topper was two custom make bobbleheads and the weight might have been an issue. Andrea said they wouldn't be a problem and to drop them off the week before so she can check it out. I was so afraid they would break or not work out, but Andrea made it happen and even had to do a little crafting to make sure they were secure. It was perfect! The most talked about pictures from the wedding are still the cake and the bobbleheads. The bakery isn't in the nicest area, but don't let that fool you. She is amazing and I can't wait to get other cakes from them in the future.

Not only does Gala listen and create your cake to fit your vision, but it is the best tasting cake around! I have had several cakes made here and have never been dissappointed. A tasting consultation is included and you get a mini cake on your 1 yr anniversary so you dont have to save the top :)

It was the Best Cake ever. We still talk about how great the cake tasted and it was beautiful as well.

Andrea nailed my vision! Not only did we get our wedding cake there, but I also ordered a soccer ball grooms cake. Both cakes looked and great and were tasty too!
