Galavant Entertainment is a wedding DJ and live music conpany in NJ. This team provides MC and DJ services and solo, duo, trio, and four-piece ensembles for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Led by front man Chris Giakas, these musicians dazzle at nuptials throughout the Tristate area. Chris has been playing music since a young age, when he was inspired by Elvis Presley and the greats of rock ‘n’ roll. By high school, he had learned guitar, piano, ukulele, and mandolin and while in college studied opera. He performs in a wide variety of genres, including pop, jazz, and rock, and will play all your favorites at your wedding. He can even sing classic Italian love songs in the style of Andrea Bocelli. Galavant Entertainment brings together a number of acts to accommodate weddings of every style. Tranquil ceremony music can be provided by renowned guitarist Matthew Gordeuk, followed by a DJ set or a live performance by one of the ensembles. These bands consist of acoustic and electric guitarists, multiple vocalists, and a cellist, and feature an eclectic and fully customizable repertoire. We hired Chris and his band for our entire day and could not have been happier. Our guests were complimenting the band all night and we are still getting compliments. Ceremony- guitar and piano. This added such a romantic ambiance to the ceremony and was not overpowering conversations. Was very happy with this. Cocktail Hour: Piano, Guitar and singing. These songs were a little more upbeat than the ceremony which helped keep the energy up. Adding live music to this portion was such a perfect touch and they sounded great. Reception: We did a combo of DJ and band. The band was Chris, a guitar player, bass player, drums and a singer. They played all different types of music for all ages and kept the energy UP! They sounded sooooo good. The last hour, Chris DJ'ed which was such a fun touch for the younger people to keep dancing and partying. Having Galavant Entertainment throughout my wedding was one of our favorite parts of the day. Thank you for making this so personal and special for us!

I cannot recommend Galavant Entertainment enough. Chris made the experience easy. He tailored the evening to our speciations. Chris & Matt were the talk of the wedding. Everyone came out to me to tell me how impressed they were with their performances during the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner. I can not recommend enough the added touch of the live performance that Chris & Matt brought. I can assure you it was a perfect background and not over bearing like some live performances can be. As a DJ, Chris had an amazing sense of timing and I can honestly say that once the dance floor opened up, it was packed until the very end. Hiring Galavant Entertainment will be the best vendor decision you’ll make.

The day we met Chris Giakas, my husband (boyfriend at the time!) went up to him while performing at a winery, pointed over at me, and said “one day I am going to marry that girl and you are going to play at our wedding.” A few years later and you bet we hired Chris to perform at our ceremony, cocktail hour, and even DJ our reception. Chris’ performances during the ceremony, first dances, cocktail hour, and more..made all those little moments even greater! We asked Chris to perform ALL Beatles songs during our cocktail hour and we called it “Beatle Mania Hour” and everyone has been talking about it since! During our reception, he had everyone up on the dance floor having the time of their lives!! We are so thankful that we chose Chris Giakas to be a part of the best day of our lives. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!

Working with chris for our September wedding was wonderful! By far the most responsive vendor to work with. He was the easiest person to talk to and was willing to do anything to make our wedding special. We loved him and his prices are very reasonable. There were unfortunately several mistakes with the DJing, mic, and introductions but despite that we had the best time at our wedding! Chris is absolutely amazing live which is what drew us to him to begin with. The selling factor to us however was our indecisiveness the ability to DJ and have a live band was truly the perfect mix.

My wife and I were soooo happy we were able to hire Chris and Matt for our wedding. The live music during the cocktail hour made the entire hour feel like a fairy tale and later on, Chris' DJing brought the dance floor to life and everyone was dancing til the venue closed. Truly the best of both worlds (with live music and DJing). COULD NOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH.

Working with Chris and Matt was an absolute pleasure, to say the least. From our initial conversation, Chris was fast to respond to any questions we had about our wedding day events. In addition, we asked Chris to officiate our wedding which was perfect! We were able to build a great relationship with him throughout the year of planning our wedding, which made us not have to stress about anything going wrong on our wedding day. Matt played during the ceremony, and Chris joined him for the cocktail hour. Once the reception started, they performed our first dance songs before switching over to DJing. Chris helped make sure everything ran smoothly throughout the entire night, keeping in mind our other vendor’s timelines. We highly recommend using Galavant Entertainment for your upcoming weddings and events!

I’m so happy we hired Chris and Matt for our wedding. They were able to play live music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, first dance and parent dances and DJ at the reception. They are both incredibly talented musicians and we’re able to play all of the songs we requested. We got so many compliments from guests on the music at our wedding. It was such a pleasure working with Chris. He is responsive, professional and friendly. I could not recommend them enough!

Chris was wonderful to work with! He really cares to make his clients happy and went above and beyond all expectations! Even customized our first dance song to make it a unique version that no one else has! couldn't be happier THANK YOU CHRIS!

Chris and Matt played at my wedding and it was such a pleasant experience. Chris was very professional from day one and made the entire process seamless. The duo’s performance exceeded every expectation I had and made the day so special. Chris was patient with me and never lost sight of my vision for the day. I would recommend Chris to anyone for any type of event and will most definitely use him again!

Chris was so spectacular! From the start, he provided me with so many options and was so kind and patient. On the day of our Wedding, Chris and his guitarist, Matthew arrived on time and gave our guests a spectacular time. I myself, am a professional wedding planner and hiring Galavant Entertainment was the best choice we made for our big day. When Chris and Matt performed the ceremony, there was not a dry eye in the building! His voice was so smooth and he played every song we asked. He sang a wide variety of songs by different artists like Frank Sinatra, Adele, and The Beatles. As an MC, he was so funny and fit in like he was part of the family. As our DJ, he kept the dance floor busy and chose the best songs. Overall, I could not give a better review and it was so worth what we paid.

They are amazing and learned all the songs we asked them to. The guitarist played beautifully during the ceremony. Chris has the sweetest voice I've ever heard. Great performers, great energy, great memories.
