Gar Woods Grill & Pier

Amy and Sydney were so great guiding us through creating our perfect ceremony and reception. They were very responsive and had great ideas on what to serve for appetizers and how to set up the Riva Room. They were also spot on with the estimate of the cost. On the day, can't say anything but perfect. The food was awesome but the service was superior. Excellent servers to keep our guests and us happy with food and drink. And what a gorgeous view! Thank you Amy and Sydney. We will definitely recommend you to anyone!!!

From the moment I walked up the stairs and saw the gorgeous view of Lake Tahoe through the expansive windows of Gar Woods I knew I wanted to get married there. My husband and I had an excellent experience planning our ceremony and reception with Gar Woods. We worked primarily with Amy Grigsby as well as two other coordinators who provided consistent communication, answered all of my questions and gave me reassurance that our wedding vision would be executed without issue. The reception rooms upstairs comfortably sat our 150 guests. Gar Woods was able to accommodate 160, but past that number it would be too tight and potentially very hot in the summer. There is no AC, however, this did not pose an issue even in late July as there was a nice breeze coming off the lake. There is no bridal suite or room to get ready which can make for some tight scheduling with pictures and quick touch ups before the ceremony and the venue is not equipped with an elevator or ramp to go upstairs if handicap accessibility is an issue for your event. Other than those minor issues this was the most picturesque, old Tahoe feel for our wedding! Many of the guests continue to comment on how great the food and service was and the Wet Woodies were served all night. If you want to get married in Tahoe, Gar Woods is a must – you won’t be disappointed!

Garwoods took care of everything!!! They made our day so special. Our guest could not stop complimenting us on the view, the food, the wet woody's and the amazing staff that went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and well taken care of!

We booked our rehearsal dinner at garwood's without ever seeing it. It turned out to be the most beautiful view of the lake we had seen and the banquet room had a wall of windows. They scheduled our event in the early evening so we could see the sunset and it was a perfect venue. The food was excellent and the price was very reasonable. The staff was professional and the room looked beautiful even though we hadn't decorated, they had their own linens and table decorations that were included and fit perfectly with the site. Everyone commented on how wonderful the event turned out!
