Texas hospitality meets Tuscan elegance at Garey House, located in Georgetown, Texas. This beautiful estate offers unique indoor event space and expansive grounds, totaling over 7,500 square feet of exquisite Texas Hill Country. The stunning landscape and luxurious interiors make for a romantic destination, perfect for your dream wedding. Whether you want to incorporate a European vintage style or prefer a more natural setting for your wedding ambiance, Garey House is an ideal venue for you.
Facilities and Capacity -
Garey House offers both indoor and outdoor locations exuding elegance and a signature Tuscan style. The Garey House Event Lawn overlooks a serene pond and waterfall, with paved walkways leading to the Terrace. The Event Lawn and Terrace are a favorite choice for wedding ceremonies. Couples are welcome to hire a third- party vendor to supply and install a tent at either location as a rain plan option, or to simply create a more intimate setting. Between the ceremony and reception, you can host cocktail hour at the Terrace Green or back patio.
The Great Room is a wonderful gathering spot pre- ceremony, with easy access to the patio and Event Lawn. The Hall, with its moveable glass walls, is an elegant option for an indoor ceremony or reception, while still allowing guests to enjoy the expansive grounds.
Garey House includes access to two spacious prep suites, for the full duration of your rental time, each with its own private restroom, television, lounge furniture and other amenities with your comfort in mind. The prep kitchen provides ample counter space for your catering team, as well as on- site trash receptacles, portable bar fronts, ice chests, and even high chairs for your littlest guests to use.
Services Offered -
The Great Room, back patio and Hall have built-in speakers available for your use, as well as electrical hookups for rented equipment at our various outdoor spaces. Wireless internet is also available throughout Garey House. We have a great list of preferred vendors but do allow you to bring in the vendors of your choosing; off-list caterers require written staff approval prior to booking. Garey House also provides tables and chairs for up to 200 guests.
History -
Garey House was built in 1995 as a private home for Jack and Cammy Garey. In 2004 they donated the property along with funding for remodeling to the City of Georgetown. Renovations began in spring 2017 and Garey House hosted its first wedding in September 2018. In the summer of 2025, Garey House was further renovated, including an expansion, to increase guest capacity.
Private tours are available by appointment, Monday- Friday. Small group tours are offered on select weekends. Please submit your inquiry using the contact form on our website: gareyhouse.georgetown.org

Working with Candice was a pleasure - she was responsive, helpful, and easy to work with throughout the planning process. On the day of the wedding, everything ran smoothly, and it was clear the venue is well managed.
Our guests especially loved the large open park and surrounding grounds. The setting felt peaceful and scenic, and it provided great opportunities for photos. The location was also ideal, quiet and removed from the city, but still close enough to Austin for convenient travel and nearby lodging in Georgetown.

The park is beautiful and quiet and great for pictures. Location is far enough from Austin to be peaceful and lovely, but close enough for easy travel and plenty of hotel and airbnb options.
They provide a list of recommended vendors, and we highly recommend using Dream Events for catering and florals, Full Scope Entertainment for music and sound, and most importantly HEATHER with Moments and Milestones for a day of coordinator.
Heather knows this venue inside and out and took so much stress out of the weeks leading up to the event, and allowed us to enjoy the day of instead of worrying about details. I never imagined we could have such a perfect day :)

I would recommend this venue to anyone who wants a gorgeous wedding and is willing to be actively involved in creating the wedding of their dreams.
It's important to note that while you can rent Garey House for an event like a wedding, Garey House is not an all-inclusive wedding venue. They do not provide catering; they do not provide bartending. They aren't even your primary wedding coordinator. What they are is a gorgeous Tuscan-style home nestled in the center of a large park owned by the city of Georgetown (meaning very official rules and regulations), staffed by people who are tasked with protecting the property and guiding you in making choices that honor the property.
They also have tables and chairs onsite that are included, and they will set them up for you in the layout you desire while also working with your wedding coordinator. Honestly, once you wrap your mind around what you're paying for, working with them to make your wedding happen is pretty easy.
The one thing that can be difficult is approving a caterer that hasn't already been pre-approved. Because it's city-owned, there are very official pathways that must be navigated in order for someone to serve food on-site, and so if your caterer hasn't worked with them before, then your caterer will have to do scheduled on-site visit with the Garey House team and turn in a lot of paperwork before they can be approved. It might not sound like a lot, but it can be tough if your caterer is a mom & pop style restaurant with not a lot of time off. That said, y'all can thank me for Elsie's Egg Rolls now being approved at Garey House lol.
This is getting long, so I'll end with this:
If you are looking for a one-stop shop -- the kind of place where you can insert cash into a single, convenient slot and a beautiful wedding pops out -- then look elsewhere. However, if you have a bit of a DIY spirit and want to have your personal touch apparent in all the choices for your wedding, or if you are on a budget and don't want to pay $$$$ for decor and need a venue that is beautiful enough to do most of the heavy lifting, then Garey House is for you.

Three things to keep in mind is that if you are planning on getting a wedding coordinator/planner, still get one because the venue has a day of coordinator who only looks out for things related to the Garey House. Second thing is that you can only book the venue from a certain time until a second time of the night. Third thing- use the Garey House's vendor list! That's where we got all our vendors. They were all super amazing to work with and knew all of the venue rules to follow.

The entire experience was amazing but three things really stood out and impressed us.
1.) Customization
We were absolutely floored with the amount of options we had for the ceremony and reception spaces. The GH team worked with us to find the best placement and seating for our guests. This was especially important to us during the pandemic when we needed to accommodate larger spacing. There were so many floor plans to pick from and intimate spaces to choose as a backdrop for our ceremony. Which leads me to our next point.
2.) The entire property is gorgeous
Every angle of this property is perfect for pictures and could be the backdrop for the ceremony or reception. We could spend an entire day with the photographer and still not get all of the photos out of it. No choice is the wrong choice when picking the location for the ceremony on the property.
3.) Picking GH made all planning less stressful
The team at GH absolutely took care of us leading up to our big day and beyond. A part of the package is access to their preferred vendors list which introduced us to all of the vendors we ended up hiring for our big day. Each one had quality care and planning service that made it so easy.
We cannot thank the team at GH enough for making our day so special. You will absolutely love Garey House.

The grounds are gorgeous, the rental timeframe is much longer than some other venues we saw in the past, and they include tables, chairs and other items that typically have to be rented.
Kerbie was a dream to work with! She answered all of my million-plus questions with such patience, haha. Even when I flip-flopped a bit when finalizing our floorpans, she was so kind and accommodating. Micayla was our day-of site manager, and she was absolutely fantastic as well!
The price is also very right, especially for everything that comes with the rental cost. They were also very accommodating when we had to push out our original May date due to COVID. Garey House is truly a hidden gem!
One thing to keep in mind: Because this is not a privately-owned business (it's the City of Georgetown in one of their parks), some of the rules and regulations felt a little bit strict, including their current COVID guidelines (which we were 1000% on board with, so that was great!), but also some other rules that made some things just a tad trickier. It's nothing that cannot be worked with, but something to keep in mind.
