We rented Garey House for our daughter’s Tangled/Rapunzel-inspired Sweet Sixteen, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish! The booking and planning process was ...
incredibly easy, especially with the client portal. I really appreciated having reminders and convenient links for making payments and purchasing the required event insurance. It made keeping track of everything so much simpler during an already busy time.
We decided to keep the décor fairly simple because Garey House and the surrounding grounds are beautiful on their own. We also opted to use several of the décor items Garey House had available, which made it easy to bring our Rapunzel-inspired vision together without having to source everything ourselves.
One of the biggest hits with both the teenagers and the adults was the lawn games on the turf area. It gave everyone a chance to get outside, visit, and have fun throughout the party. It was especially nice to have an activity that appealed to different ages.
We hired a coordinator from Garey House’s recommended list and a caterer from their approved list. Both were great choices. The caterer was especially accommodating with my very picky daughter’s meal request, which was such a relief as a mom!
Candice was also extremely helpful throughout the planning process. She offered suggestions for the layout that helped us make the most of the space and create a flow that worked well for the party.
Overall, Garey House was the perfect setting for such a special milestone. The beautiful venue, easy planning process, helpful staff, and flexibility with our vision made our daughter’s Sweet Sixteen a night we will always remember!
We got married at Garey House in April of 2026. We choose this venue, because we really loved the look of it, and it was fairly affordable. With the renovations and the new wedding...
reception area, it is truly an amazing place to get married. We had to move inside due to weather, but it was still great for pictures with the giant fireplace in the background. The grounds around Garey House make for great pictures too. They were well organized and we enjoyed working with them!
If you’re looking to get married in the Austin area, check out Garey House in Georgetown! Everyone we worked at the venue did an amazing job answering our questions and making sure...
our wedding day went exactly as Plant. Our wedding on 04.12.26 was absolutely PERFECT!!
They provide special pricing for smaller weddings, which we greatly appreciated as we were trying to stay within budget.
My wedding coordinator Micayla, also works at the venue. If you also need a wedding coordinator for your special day, Micayla is the way to go!! She’s amazing
We were married here in December of 2025 post renovation. Start with some positives.
• The venue is very pretty post renovation; the grounds are well manicured.
o I will note tha...
t the venue reception hall is not really bigger though post renovation. We had the reception hall set up for 123 guests (mix of rounds and rectangular tables) with a buffet (striked after), dance floor, drink table, & cake table. I couldn’t imagine there being space if we had much more people. It wasn’t possible to have all guests in view for us as we wanted to be in front of the fireplace.
• The venue day of on-site manager was great! We had no issues & she also able to take care of inconveniences experienced day of.
• The pricing for a Saturday date was good, but I believe pricing increased.
Now some cons we experienced. I will say this all could be a one off considering they seemed in disarray with the renovation.
• Communication was lacking.
o It took days to receive confirmation of the wedding date & information on how to make the deposit to hold the date. We were unsure for a few days if we secured it or not.
o We requested an additional venue hour & never received the paperwork they said they would send. We had to remind them to send the paperwork.
o They sent conflicting reminders about the event insurance and how to send to them (upload into portal one day & then send via email another day). We had to tell them several times it was already completed.
o We never received any reception layouts for post renovation from the venue prior to the final walkthrough even though we requested them months in advance in July. When we did get layouts after the meeting, only 2 of the 6 really pertained to our guest counts. We spent hours making our own layout using the software Prismm.
o Renovation wasn’t fully completed by our wedding date in mid-December 2025 though it was supposed to be completed in early October 2025. We understand renovations get sidetracked, but simple things like lighting fixtures missing & the rhinestone fans were not changed out as they stated would be.
• A photo session (2 hours) was included with the venue rental; we reserved in advance. We understood that people who paid for the park could be around outside, not inside, and we were okay with that. When we showed up nobody greeted us and it appeared they had double booked a final walkthrough with another couple & planner so we were dodging them inside the venue for over an hour. We found this unprofessional & do not understand what we actually “reserved.”
• The day of the wedding, the groom & groomsmen suite area bathroom was a complete mess with poop. The day of venue manager did have a cleaning lady come. I would advise they double check the venue for cleanliness.
• You can’t have any kind of special effects at this venue despite the contract stating there is a process for it. We inquired to have dancing on clouds (dry ice) & they informed not allowed. It was a bummer and I did let the venue know they should update the contract.
o “Pyrotechnics, fog machines, smoke-generating devices, or faux smoke-generating devices require permitting by the City of Georgetown Fire Department and are not permitted without prior written approval of the City. Aerial firework shows are not permitted.”
Overall hindsight is 20/20, I wish I could write about a better experience but it was rough. We’d give it 3/5 since the grounds and house are beautiful and the saving grace.
The Garey House was absolutely amazing and truly the perfect wedding venue! From the beautiful suites to the stunning grounds, everything about the property was incredible. The sta...
ff was wonderful to work with—helpful, professional, and supportive throughout the entire process.
I chose a more DIY-style wedding and handled most things myself with minimal vendors, and the venue was perfect for that. At the same time, The Garey House is fully equipped to accommodate all the bells and whistles if you want them. It’s such a versatile space that can truly be tailored to your vision.
I couldn’t have asked for a better setting for our special day and would highly recommend The Garey House to anyone looking for a beautiful, well-run, and unforgettable wedding venue!
We had our wedding at The Garey House in November after the new renovations, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The updates to the venue are beautiful and made...
the spaces feel open, functional, and welcoming.
Working with Candice was a pleasure - she was responsive, helpful, and easy to work with throughout the planning process. On the day of the wedding, everything ran smoothly, and it was clear the venue is well managed.
Our guests especially loved the large open park and surrounding grounds. The setting felt peaceful and scenic, and it provided great opportunities for photos. The location was also ideal, quiet and removed from the city, but still close enough to Austin for convenient travel and nearby lodging in Georgetown.
Overall, The Garey House was a great choice for our wedding, and we would happily recommend it to couples looking for a well-maintained venue with both indoor and outdoor options.
We had our wedding in December after the new renovations. The space is beautiful with extra room indoors for any possible inclement weather. We had our cocktail hour in the main ...
house and our ceremony and reception in the new hall.
The park is beautiful and quiet and great for pictures. Location is far enough from Austin to be peaceful and lovely, but close enough for easy travel and plenty of hotel and airbnb options.
They provide a list of recommended vendors, and we highly recommend using Dream Events for catering and florals, Full Scope Entertainment for music and sound, and most importantly HEATHER with Moments and Milestones for a day of coordinator.
Heather knows this venue inside and out and took so much stress out of the weeks leading up to the event, and allowed us to enjoy the day of instead of worrying about details. I never imagined we could have such a perfect day :)
Wedding size: 75 guests
Candice is so wonderful to work with and Garey House is just stunning. Beautiful architecture and great back up space in case of bad weather. Highly recommend getting married here!
Garey House was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding day. The property is stunning—beautifully designed, picturesque at every angle, and newly renovated, which made everythin...
g feel fresh and elevated. The architecture, scenery, and layout created the most magical atmosphere for both our ceremony and reception.
We received so many compliments from our guests about how gorgeous the venue was and how special the experience felt. We are so grateful we chose Garey House and couldn’t recommend it more. It truly was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding day!
The first time we drove up to Garey House, we knew it was our wedding venue. As residents of Leander, it was super close for the majority of our guests. This hidden gem has spectac...
ular grounds and amazing landscaping, so the venue itself is the star of the show and minimal florals/decor is needed. Our guests raved about how beautiful everything was; the grounds are spacious, there are several options for outdoor ceremony locations, and plenty of places for photo opportunities. The price was also very competitive compared to other venues.
The staff is incredibly kind, responsive, and welcoming - they work to make your day special and stress-free. The bridal suite is also very spacious and a great space for hair and makeup, as well as photo ops. For an outdoor ceremony and reception, this place can't be beat!
Garey House was an amazing venue for our wedding. The property is absolutely beautiful, private, serene, and tucked away on a large, picturesque park. The staff was communicative, ...
knowledgeable, and responsive. The pricing was also very reasonable compared to other venues we toured, and we received countless compliments on the location. Garey House is truly a hidden gem and a stunning place to celebrate.
The venue is absolutely gorgeous! So many of our guests commented on that! If that is not enough, then know that the entire staff at Garey House is so helpful and made relieved muc...
h of the stress during planning. Gary House often holds events for touring, vendor meet and greets, decoration purchasing, taste tests, etc. I strongly urge anyone looking for a venue to consider Garey House.

Our decor was simple, as we felt the venue had so much beauty of its own that we wanted to let shine. The large oak trees, the pergola, the pond, the dock, the terracota colored tile floor, the fire place, the large gold antiqued mirror to name a few details that we loved!
The Garey House experience starts the second you enter the park and what a beautiful first impression. Garey House itself is stunning and allows for many different ways to set up y...
our unique event. There are endless photo opportunities too. The Garey House team is responsive, friendly and flexible. 10/10 recommend getting married here!
Beautiful location, super helpful staff. Highly recommend this venue!
This venue is very beautiful and the staff is very professional, organized and knows how to communicate, I recommend this place 100%

ouldn't have to have it inside the venue as it wasn't my favorite option. It is a quiet and gorgeous venue for a relatively good price.
As lovely as it seems!
Garey House is a venue that is so beautiful in itself that you don’t need to spend a ton of money on additional decor. The team was incredible to work with and allowed flexibility ...
when planning our wedding day. They worked well with our vendors and our wedding day was near perfect. Thank you Garey House!
We absolutely love working at Garey House! The team is incredibly organized, and the customer service, especially from Candice, is top-notch. Candice goes above and beyond, taking ...
the time to explain the setup details and options to the clients. In our collaborative meetings, where I serve as the coordinator, Candice has shown exceptional patience. Our clients have made numerous setup requests, and Candice responds promptly, making sure to accommodate their needs. Working here is a joy because there are no last-minute surprises for clients. Everything is communicated thoroughly well in advance, and Candice ensures that everyone is on the same page. It truly makes our job a breeze!. "We also want to express our appreciation for the excellent collaboration with the event manager, Heather. Thank you, guys, for being so awesome with the clients. Your dedication truly contributes to making their special events run smoothly. We look forward to more fantastic collaborations at Garey House!
Can't recommend this venue more ! The staff is Professional , very communicative throughout. Pics are from my phone, the indoor dinner, bridal suite, and outdoor dancing.
They ha...
ve monthly drop- in events that helped us visualize the layout.
The property is absolutely stunning and very affordable for its value.
There were some small snafus the day of (locked bridal suite, tables in the wrong place) but easily forgiven.
If you're looking for a Farmhouse alternative with a familiar but luxurious vibe, this is the place for you!!!
We love this venue and the staff was so easy to work with. Everything ran like clockwork!
Garey house is an awesome venue and often overlooked. Because it's a city park, the price is so reasonable and they have tables and chairs on site. Everyone we worked with was supp...
ortive and charming, and the grounds are stunning. I particularly like the amount of different locations where you can have different events, and the potential to switch from indoor to outdoor. The only real drawback is that if you're located in Austin it's a bit of a drive.
OH! And be sure to get the NAME of the off duty police officer so that you can put it on the check, or pay in CASH because we wrote down Georgetown Police and he threatened to shut our wedding down. Not really a Garey House problem, but like, heads up.
Beautiful Venue to hold a wedding
I had my wedding at Garey House at the end of March, and it was everything I had hoped it would be. The venue is beautiful, the staff was friendly and quick to answer my emails whe...
never I had questions, and the price for the venue felt like an excellent value considering how many compliments we got from guests regarding our ceremony and reception. I would recommend this venue to anyone who wants a gorgeous wedding and is willing to be actively involved in creating the wedding of their dreams.
It's important to note that while you can rent Garey House for an event like a wedding, Garey House is not an all-inclusive wedding venue. They do not provide catering; they do not provide bartending. They aren't even your primary wedding coordinator. What they are is a gorgeous Tuscan-style home nestled in the center of a large park owned by the city of Georgetown (meaning very official rules and regulations), staffed by people who are tasked with protecting the property and guiding you in making choices that honor the property.
They also have tables and chairs onsite that are included, and they will set them up for you in the layout you desire while also working with your wedding coordinator. Honestly, once you wrap your mind around what you're paying for, working with them to make your wedding happen is pretty easy.
The one thing that can be difficult is approving a caterer that hasn't already been pre-approved. Because it's city-owned, there are very official pathways that must be navigated in order for someone to serve food on-site, and so if your caterer hasn't worked with them before, then your caterer will have to do scheduled on-site visit with the Garey House team and turn in a lot of paperwork before they can be approved. It might not sound like a lot, but it can be tough if your caterer is a mom & pop style restaurant with not a lot of time off. That said, y'all can thank me for Elsie's Egg Rolls now being approved at Garey House lol.
This is getting long, so I'll end with this:
If you are looking for a one-stop shop -- the kind of place where you can insert cash into a single, convenient slot and a beautiful wedding pops out -- then look elsewhere. However, if you have a bit of a DIY spirit and want to have your personal touch apparent in all the choices for your wedding, or if you are on a budget and don't want to pay $$$$ for decor and need a venue that is beautiful enough to do most of the heavy lifting, then Garey House is for you.
Awesome venue!! Wedding 💒 was great and plenty of room.
Attendants we're great 👍
Garey House is such a beautiful venue to celebrate a special event. The staff are professional, friendly, and work to ensure that every detail of the event flows smoothly and eff...
iciently. They create floor plans for both indoors and outdoors and even create back up plans for weather-related issues. As a wedding coordinator, it is such a pleasure working at Garey House!
The Garey House was amazing to work with. The people who work there are kind and willing to answer any questions/ make any accommodations. The venue itself is stunning, many guests...
complimented the beauty of the venue (and even said they want to get married there). If you want a Italian, Tuscany, elegant indoor or outdoor wedding that is VERY reasonably priced then Garey house is the place for you!

he day without being nervous for the details of the venue or the day of the wedding because they had it covered. Super memorable day!
Three things to keep in mind is that if you are planning on getting a wedding coordinator/planner, still get one because the venue has a day of coordinator who only looks out for things related to the Garey House. Second thing is that you can only book the venue from a certain time until a second time of the night. Third thing- use the Garey House's vendor list! That's where we got all our vendors. They were all super amazing to work with and knew all of the venue rules to follow.
We love this venue. We chose the Garey house because it was adorable and beautiful. Our reception and ceremony were both outside. honestly the only down side was being required to ...
purchase security and insurance. We were told that security just kinda hung out in the office in the event something happened or her was needed. We saw the security officer walking the grounds during the cocktail hour in uniform. Other than that everything was perfect.
The venue is SO gorgeous! Candice was very helpful and patient with us as we made last minute changes or asked to stop by to verify a look or location for how we wanted to decorate...
. The indoor space in small and broken up and not ideal for anything over about 50 people, but we had ours mostly outdoor and it was perfect! Super thankful we didn't have to make indoors work due to rain, praise God! There are some minor things that we would have liked to see updated or more functional, like outlets for our sound guy outside around the ceremony site, and the stone could use some power washing, but those are just things that my husband and I are used to looking at! Overall I would redo our wedding there everyday!

of a venue we chose and loved how spacious it felt. We have loved the staff members that have helped us along the way prior to wedding day. If there is one thing that I would change, it would be the amount of time we have at the venue. We still had to do our rehearsal, decorate, and get ready all in the three hours before the ceremony. That was a part we thought we were prepared for but we were not. Other than that, our day was full of love, happy tears, and many many memories were made. Thank you Garey House for such a wonderful day!
The Gary House is a wonderful venue!!!! My wedding day was amazing!!! All the staff that work for the Gary House is so professional and courteous like Melissa. My family loved the ...
venue as well, with the beautiful waterfall, the beautiful natural scenery and the romantic gazebo that my husband and I got married under. Everything was perfect! The on-site manager Leslie was amazing she really saved the day for us. I loved this venue because my guest didn’t have to all sit in one place. There had several options they could go to, outside, inside, the great room, the hall. It was especially perfect during a pandemic so everyone could spread out. I would highly recommend the Gary House.
Choosing Garey House as the venue for our wedding was easily the best choice my wife and I made when planning our wedding. The entire process with them was stress free because we k...
new we were in good hands with the Garey House team. The high quality and service was clear with the resources they gave us, and it really helped to make our day absolutely special.
The entire experience was amazing but three things really stood out and impressed us.
1.) Customization
We were absolutely floored with the amount of options we had for the ceremony and reception spaces. The GH team worked with us to find the best placement and seating for our guests. This was especially important to us during the pandemic when we needed to accommodate larger spacing. There were so many floor plans to pick from and intimate spaces to choose as a backdrop for our ceremony. Which leads me to our next point.
2.) The entire property is gorgeous
Every angle of this property is perfect for pictures and could be the backdrop for the ceremony or reception. We could spend an entire day with the photographer and still not get all of the photos out of it. No choice is the wrong choice when picking the location for the ceremony on the property.
3.) Picking GH made all planning less stressful
The team at GH absolutely took care of us leading up to our big day and beyond. A part of the package is access to their preferred vendors list which introduced us to all of the vendors we ended up hiring for our big day. Each one had quality care and planning service that made it so easy.
We cannot thank the team at GH enough for making our day so special. You will absolutely love Garey House.
From a vendor perspective, Garey House is a dream to work with. They're communicative, accommodating, and go above and beyond for their clients. Definitely recommend!
This is venue was the second venue I ever visited and fell in love! Outside area was gorgeous, and inside is just a beautiful. I booked Garey House for a full wedding but ended up ...
switching to an elopement. The venue coordinator was so helpful and gave me great recommendation to other vendors in the area. If you are looking for outdoor ceremony and reception this is the perfect place for you.
Garey House was the entire reason we chose to have a wedding! We weren't planning on having a traditional wedding, but when my husband saw it while visiting Garey Park one day las...
t year, he fell in love. He brought me to the park shortly after, and I saw for myself what he meant.
The grounds are gorgeous, the rental timeframe is much longer than some other venues we saw in the past, and they include tables, chairs and other items that typically have to be rented.
Kerbie was a dream to work with! She answered all of my million-plus questions with such patience, haha. Even when I flip-flopped a bit when finalizing our floorpans, she was so kind and accommodating. Micayla was our day-of site manager, and she was absolutely fantastic as well!
The price is also very right, especially for everything that comes with the rental cost. They were also very accommodating when we had to push out our original May date due to COVID. Garey House is truly a hidden gem!
One thing to keep in mind: Because this is not a privately-owned business (it's the City of Georgetown in one of their parks), some of the rules and regulations felt a little bit strict, including their current COVID guidelines (which we were 1000% on board with, so that was great!), but also some other rules that made some things just a tad trickier. It's nothing that cannot be worked with, but something to keep in mind.
My husband and I had our wedding here on 10/22/2020. It could not have been more perfect! Our family, friends, and even our photographer told us how beautiful the venue was. Not on...
ly is venue beautiful, but we had so many options for both ceremony and reception! The coordinator and other staff are absolutely amazing as well! A huge part of how well everything is in thanks to Kerbie and Micayla! Kerbie was infinitely patient with my millions of questions and requests! We could not have chosen a better venue!
Loved this venue. It is beautiful and you have access to the whole property! They are very professional and helpful with planning and making your day perfect. Highly recommend!

ly and professional, from beginning to the end. We are more than grateful that we can have our intimate ceremony at Garey House. And we will definitely recommend this venue to our friends!
Absolutely beautiful wedding venue. We were still able to have the wedding during this trying time of COVID! Only downside was capacity limits because of COVID. But even so, we had...

reat view of the foutain/pond. The staff was incredibly helpful and kind! I cannot say enough good things about how help and friendly they were throughout the whole process. They set up all the big stuff and create a back up plan in case of bad weather. We got married on the terrace so knowing that we had a back up plan, in case of Texas weather, made choosing them all the more worth it! Our wedding photos came out beautiful and everyone who attended got great photos too! The bridal area was a spacious and comfortable place to get ready!
Working with the Garey House team was amazing! Our wedding went PERFECTLY! People were raving about what a beautiful location it was and everything was absolutely perfect.

rey House is a hidden gem. It is one of the most gorgeous locations in the Austin area and it is SO affordable. The team there is top-notch and you really can't find anything in Austin that will give you such an amazing experience and venue for the price.
We could not be happier with our experience, thank you so much to the Garey House Team!!!
