He does a great job putting everyone at ease and going with the flow of the day. I’m glad we did our engagement shoot with him, too. Not only did we get great photos, but it helped us be more comfortable on camera for our wedding day. We would recommend Garret without a single hesitation! The single downside of only getting married once—apart from never getting to wear my dress again 😩—is that we’ll never have another excuse to work with Garret. We’re so grateful for the photos, video, and memories he created for us.

over a year a part. He is easy going, kind, professional, and works so well with everyone. He’s the kind of person you simply want to be friends with. Garret got all of the photos we wanted (and quickly, too) plus more! We have some amazing shots that he got creative with when my husband and I snuck out of the reception for a few moments (I highly recommend doing this!). He is great at instructing others (bridal party, parents, etc.) in a kind, yet firm way so your photos turn out wonderfully. Garret also put up a screen/tablet with a few highlight shots at the reception, so our guests could see some of the photos he took. After he delivered all the photos, he worked quickly with me to make a few small changes to a couple photos. He returned all of our photos much faster than I’ve seen others get their photos back. Seriously- if you’re looking for a photographer- book him!!!

which is saying a lot for two awkward engineers who don't typically like getting our photos taken. I am so happy to have found Garret on The Knot. He is so professional and his work is incredible. re I would want my photos taken at this new venue and how our record low temperatures in mid November would affect the landscaping. Luckily, Garret thought of all of that. Not only was he able to find beautiful spots for photos, but he also helped us feel like our new venue was where we were meant to be. By the end of the night I realize that Garret was not capturing the landscape or the decorations, he was simply capturing the moments my husband and I were sharing together with the people that we love the most. Throughout the wedding I felt like I never saw Garret, but anytime I turned around to look for him to take a picture he was right there! As if it was magic and he just knew. He was punctual, honest, and just an overall easy going guy to work with. So for any of you out there looking for a photographer for your special day/event I highly recommend Garret. At the end of the day the decorations will come down, the food will all be gone, and the flowers die, but the moments Garret captures will be something you can hold onto forever. ys later at a Panera not far from my home. He greeted me with a warm smile and it was beyond obvious that wedding photography was not just a job for him; it was a passion of his. His face lit up with genuine excitement when we started talking about different aspects of his work. He was so easy to talk to that it felt like I met an old friend for lunch although it was my first time ever meeting him. I even had my unruly infant with me and it didn’t bother him one bit. His work is so incredible that he could be arrogant but he is SO down to Earth. So understanding. A great listener. Very patient. I could go on on and but just know that his breathtaking photography is just one piece of an amazing man all around. On the day of, Garrett and his sister were on time, dressed professionally, and had big smiles on their faces! It felt like they were happy to be there. I’m sure it didn’t take long for them to notice how chaotic and stressful things were in the bridal suite. My bridal suite looked like a scene from The Day After Tomorrow. Everyone had stuff everywhere plus my mother was driving me insane with her sporadic and impulsive ways. So I was a little stressed to say the least but Garret and his sister were so calm and reassuring that it actually helped me feel some relief. I never sensed any stress from them and they easily rolled with every hiccup that came our way. Garret was also really open to letting us pick and choose different poses and locations to take our formal photos. My husband and I felt so comfortable and we had a lot of fun trying different things. We received our pictures exactly 4 weeks after our wedding and they exceeded my expectations! But I honestly wasn’t surprised because during the reception, Garret displayed some of the photos he took earlier in the evening and my wedding guest were in awe - and so was I! I knew right then that the rest of the images would be just as beautiful and they definitely were!! We haven’t received our wedding video yet but I’m confident that it will be just as spectacular as the photos!! :)

e. That was exactly what I wanted in my photos! Fast forward to the moment I got to see my wedding photos and boy did he deliver! Not only are my pictures stunning, but they also capture the love between my husband and I. They are artistic and fun and everything I could have ever asked for! Garret also chose a few of his favorites from earlier in the day of the wedding and put them on display through a digital screen at the reception, which was so cool! I got to see a sneak peek of the photos the day of and so did all of my guests. I would 110% recommend that you hire Garret to capture your big day!

He had amazing ideas for our wedding and we knew right away he would be easy to work with, so we booked him for an engagement shoot which took place in Indianapolis where we were living at the time and for our wedding which was going to be in Key West. Our engagement shoot was so much fun. We had it in Holcomb Gardens on Butler University's campus. Garret went the day or days before to check it out and get ideas for good picture spots. The whole shoot took only a couple of hours and we took pictures in numerous locations within the park, including some with our three dogs. They were amazing. In the weeks leading up to our wedding Garret stayed in touch as we finalized the timeline and plans for the weekends festivities. Our wedding was on Sunday, March 3, and Garret flew into Key West with his second photographer, his sister, and his wife on Saturday. He went to the park where we would be married Saturday around sunset to scope out good locations for shots and to check the timing of the sunsetting and lighting. Our wedding pictures started as we were both along with our parties were getting ready, Garret with one of us and his second photographer with the other. We had a first look and ended up taking pictures of just the two of us for over an hour. We took all of our family photos before the wedding. He of course took lots of pictures during the ceremony and then we spent 30-40 minutes afterward taking pictures of the two of us as the sunset. Garret took pictures at the reception AND even set up a tablet to display shots from the wedding AT the reception. Even our guests were impressed by him. My brother-in-law and his new fiancee were so impressed by Garret that they decided that night to us him as their wedding photographer as well. Garret didn't stop working at all that day. Within two days we had our sneak peak and the pictures were STUNNING. Less than a month later we had all of our pictures back, all 570 of them, and they, too, were stunning. He perfectly captured our day. Garret is an amazing person and an extremely talented photographer. His prices are more than reasonable and the quality of his work is exceptional. I cannot recommend him enough.

to keep people engaged. In large groups or one-on-one scenarios, it is truly difficult to maintain focus and bring out the best in photos. Garret has mastered this art. Let’s start with Engagement Photos. First, the turnaround time was incredible compared to friends of ours who have been through the process. Garret traveled to Chicago in the rain and cold to accommodate our schedule, which was very tight. Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, Garret managed to capture lasting images that we will cherish for years to come. Better yet, he worked at our pace. The Wedding. The opposite of the Engagement shoot. Now you have 22 people, in blistering heat, trying to take photos and rush to cocktail hour. What didn’t change? Garret’s attention and detail which kept everyone engaged, the ball rolling, and led to phenomenal photos. We had the pleasure of attending weddings shot by Garret prior to our own, so we really got to see his consistency. People are still raving about this photo booth setup and slide show. Not long into our reception, Garret had a slideshow up and running of photos from that day. A remarkable feat as we do not recall seeing him without his camera. We would recommend Garret to anyone who is getting engaged, married, or just wants photos taken for a special moment. Words can express how grateful we are for him capturing our special day with such clarity. Amidst the chaos, Garret was able to still-frame moments that we otherwise may have not remembered – this is an invaluable skill that I would assume most in his position do not possess. guests loved the preview of some picture favorites from the day at our reception. Our engagement and wedding pictures came out better than we could ever have hoped for and he was willing to go to the extreme with some of our ides (ie a Bounce House photo shoot!) ur friends and family feel so comfortable. He also had great ideas for poses, shots, and trying new photo tricks (which made for some really cool photos!), which was perfect because he told us exactly what to do which allowed for tons of photos in a short amount of time. He was also great about receiving feedback on what we wanted and catering to our preferences. One thing which I really appreciated was that he was so subtle and incognito while taking ceremony photos... he wasn't obnoxious like some photographers who are basically behind the bride and groom during their vows. We honestly didn't see him during the ceremony, but he still captured amazing photos! It hasn't even been two weeks and he sent us all our edited wedding photos, which is unheard of in the wedding industry! He even had photos he took from the ceremony being played on a screen at our reception, which the guests loved. Our experience was wonderful and we couldn't be more pleased with how the photos turned out. Highly recommended!

He sent us our wedding gallery before we even got back from our honeymoon! We're talking days later. And he takes input very well if you want a certain shot. He was quick about getting the shots and was ready with the camera for when we spontaneously would burst into song. He was a blast to work with and made "staged" photos feel so natural. I really appreciated his eagerness and enthusiasm for getting the best shots. I was very impressed with the way he worked with middle of the day light. He made the worst time of day (in terms of lighting) look ethereal. He really captured all that we wanted and more.
