There are dozens of phenomenal bakeries in the Denver area, but Gateaux stands out above the rest for their creativity, organization, cost, flexibility, and of course, delectability! The head Chef, Michelle, is incredibly easy to work with and made this aspect of the planning process totally seamless. I will be going back for any event, big or small.

Gateaux Bakery provided exactly what we were looking for in a small cutting cake for our wedding. Originally, we had only intended it for the wedding party, but it served a surprisingly large amount of cake that our guests appreciated in addition to our dessert bar. The almond semi-naked cake was excellent in both style and flavor. Gateaux, also, was incredibly helpful in packaging and delivering the cake to our wedding coordinator, who took it to our venue, where it arrived safe and sound despite the two-hour drive.

The cake and pastries for our wedding were everything we could ask for! Michelle and her staff were so on top of it and wonderful the entire time. We can't picture using anyone else for our cake needs! They also had the best gluten free cake we could ask for and they had all the details we requested for our special day!

Working with Michelle and her team was an absolute dream. Not only was she attentive to details and easy to communicate with through emails, phone calls, and in person cake tasting, she was also genuinely fun and a joy to spend time with. We requested for her to insert charms into our cake for a "cake pull" which is a Southern tradition (I'm from New Orleans) and she was familiar with the tradition and carried it out perfectly! Our cake was beautiful and very tasty! We received a number of compliments from our guests and we would love to work with Michelle and her team again in the future.

Best bakery in Denver!! Beyond their delicious pastries and other goodies in their case, they make BEAUTIFUL wedding cakes! We were married June 2019 and had Gateaux make our cake - one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. Michelle and Kathleen are cake wizards and are so passionate and GOOD at what they do. They are so attentive to detail and captured our vision for our cake PERFECTLY. Not only did it look beautiful, but it tasted just as good, too! Gateaux Bakery allowed us to have our gorgeous cake and eat a delicious one too. We scoured the Denver area trying to find a bakery that could produce a wedding cake as beautiful as it was tasty, and we only found Gateaux to get a perfect ten in both categories. Michelle Rasul, in particular, was the cake boss who worked with us from the start to turn our vision into a reality. We wanted a three-tiered cake with a classic white exterior and a cascading white peony fondant sash, and Michelle’s artistry and delicate touch made the difficult white-on-white design pop with stunning results. Then, illustrating Gateaux’s range, they also knocked the groom’s cake out of the park with a towering, conical croquembouche with each sumptuous puff pastry coated artfully in a yummy caramel. We both agree that if we could do any meal over and over again for the rest of our lives, it would have been the cake test tasting we did with Gateaux. We would have been happy with any of the filling options (and embarrassingly, we finished a slice of each flavor permutation), but ultimately we settled on two different choices for our tiers: vanilla cake with an apricot filling (that was so flavorful and not overly sweet or tart) and marble cake with a Grand Marnier filling that was divine. Michelle was incredibly helpful and responsive when we had questions about cake stands or anything else, and, on the day itself, she ensured the display was impeccable. We’ve been dreaming of eating the cake ever since, so we can’t wait to have a slice from the freezer on our anniversary. Go to Gateaux. We can’t recommend them enough.

We LOVED working with Michelle from Gateaux. From our first time visiting the adorable bakery to our cake tasting and the day of, Michelle was such a joy to work with. She truly made my dream wedding cake a reality and we are so thankful for her!

We absolutely LOVED our wedding cake! As an avid home baker, I was extremely picky about the cake that would be served at our wedding. We came to Gateaux after trying cakes at a few other locations and being underwhelmed and were so happy we did come to Gateaux. All of the flavors we sampled were delicious. We settled on carrot and almond cakes. Both got rave reviews from all of our guests. I was also so happy with the design of our cake. I wanted polka dots and and a few sugar flowers to match our wedding colors and Gateaux delivered. Our cake looked beautiful and tasted great.

Kathleen, Michelle, & the whole team were outstanding to work with! At our tasting we requested a flavor they don't normally do and they whipped up the filling right there for us to try and the cake turned out amazingly delicious! For the design, we brought in a picture for inspiration and they brought it to life and exceeded our expectations! We even changed our final numbers last minute and they were so flexible and helpful. They made everything go so smoothly, we didn't have to worry at all on our wedding day. Plus, our guests LOVED the cake - we heard only good reviews!

I don't know where to start with Gateaux Bakery and our wonderful pastry artist, Michelle. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would in an instant! We had a pretty wacky idea going into our cake prep. Not only was Michelle confident she could do it, she was beyond EXCITED! Her enthusiasm definitely wore off on us and made the cake the most exciting part of our wedding day. We built up such unimaginable high hopes that it honestly wasn't fair. Gateaux still EXCEEDED our expectations! Thank you, Michelle, for all your wonderful enthusiasm and hard work. She even brought us our cake on a day the bakery is normally closed! Don't think about going anywhere else, your search is over.

Kathleen and her team impressed us from the first moment we entered the store for tastings. She set the four of us (bought our moms) up in a quaint back room with seats and delicious coffee--it was lovely. This sounds like a little thing, but it's a big difference--for every other baker we had to stand around and felt in the way of their day time traffic. Then out came the cakes. Big beautiful slices, artfully arranged. Every single one was delicious, but she helped guide our decision based on the other items on the men, and we even ended up customizing the flavors beyond her amazing standards. Whatever you do, be sure to try the apricot grand marnier filling. The best. She sketched the cake out before us, unlike anything I'd ever seen. The tiers, the lightest wisps of buttercream (I hate fondant, personally, and though hers was almost good enough to make me reconsider, she completely adapted to my desire to avoid it entirely) that were almost feather consistency, lightly brushed with color and scattered with our flowers. The finished product was truly breathtaking- simple elegant and totally us. Wish I could attach a photo.

For our wedding, we were unable to do food tastings since we live in VA, so we had to have our parents who live in CO try all the dessert options available to us. It was a tough job for them obviously, but after visiting a few bake shops, they gave us a definitive answer: Gateaux. And boy, they did not disappoint! Gateaux created some wonderful cupcakes for our wedding, and all of them were some of the best cupcakes we’ve ever had. There were options for everyone: red velvet, vanilla, chocolate, dark chocolate with filling, mint and more and our guests couldn’t get enough of them. Gateaux even created a cake using our wedding colors, complete with a large fondant sunflower on top! They worked with our wedding coordinator to incorporate some of our decorations onto the dessert table, and everything looked wonderful. For anyone looking for a quick snack or a full event with dessert, we couldn’t recommend Gateaux enough!

I had a great experience with Gateaux for my wedding. I emailed them with my predicament (12 days before my wedding the venue advised me the pastry chef would not be able to make the desserts for my wedding!) They responded quickly and reassured me they would be able to help me. We discussed and tasted many options only 1 week before the wedding. We ended up with a beautiful dessert table and a small cake for cutting. I am so grateful for their expertise, I really needed to feel confident dessert would be taken care of. I explained what I was looking for, and they were creative and matched the desserts to my style. They even made a special cake topper with the design of my invitations (an unexpected and great surprise). Many of my guests asked for their information to order these desserts for the holidays. All around a wonderful experience, Thank you Gateaux!

LOVED our cake! This was the first 'Flying Pig' cake they had ever created. We worked with Michelle and were able to build what we wanted along with her suggestions and expertise! We ended up with a beautiful Ivory, copper and peach absolutely stunning cake! Our guests were in awe. We chose the poppy with lemon, almond with raspberry and chocolate ganache, the specialty white with apricot and the favorite for us and our guests was the chocolate with toasted coconut mousse. WOW! What a spectacular cake! We would highly recommend them!

I had a great experience with Gateaux - it came recommended by one of our vendors and I'm so glad they mentioned it because as soon as we walked into the cake shop we knew they were our first pick! Michelle was great at explaining their services and was very personable and professional. My cake was gorgeous for the minimal design price - one thing I really appreciated is that they don't have a lot of hidden or stacked fees - there was a set price for cake size, then only a few special cake designs and flavors were an additional cost. Every sample we tried was delicious - I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with their selection! Michelle was a huge help with all of my questions as we led up to the wedding as well.

Gateaux created a BEAUTIFUL cake for our wedding, however the quality of the actual cake left something to be desired and the customer service was very poor.

The people at Gateaux were so easy to work with and helped my fiancé and I design the perfect cake. Our guests loved every bite and they have a huge selection to choose from.

My wedding guests are STILL talking about my cake. It was exactly what I wanted in terms of design/look, but more importantly, it was delicious. Gateaux is a little pricier than some bakeries, but it was more than worth it. Your cake will be uniquely beautiful and delectable.

I had a number of people tell me that my cake was so beautiful it belonged in a wedding magazine. They did a great job decorating an amazing cake, not to mention that it was tasty!

If you want a delicious tasting and beautiful cake this is the place to get it! And they want you to eat the top layer and give you a small cake to eat on your first anniversary free!
