They say you should interview 2-3 vendors before making a decision. Well, there is no need to do so with Geaux Catering! The menu is diverse and the options are affordable, which was important for me as we were inviting 300 guests. Jamaal took the time to hold two tastings for us, walk us through our options and make any adjustments we needed to ensure we were satisfied. The quality of food and level of professionalism is unmatched. Jamaal personally served my husband and I during the wedding and repeatedly checked on us. Our guests appreciated the kindness of his staff and two weeks later, they are still raving about the food - from the shrimp at cocktail hour to the beef brisket and lobster mac & cheese for dinner! And, any leftover food is for the couple to take. It is clear that Jamaal loves what he does and we are so honored to have had him as part of our big day. His family works alongside him, supporting him in everything he does. I can't wait to use his services again. I feel as though honesty is only helpful in these situations for interested parties and the catering company. The tasting meal was the best part of this experience. Jamaal was accommodating and friendly initially, beyond that we felt we were not a priority. A venue walkthrough 45 mins away was canceled by Jamaal 10 mins before he was supposed to be there. Emails were completely ignored, and we never received any paperwork/contracts from Jamaal even after requesting them. Things just seemed unprofessional but we moved forward hoping for the best. The day of the wedding, the buffet set up was less than desirable, no warmers...just foil trays of food laid on table. My husband and I ate first and the food was cold even then. Later we found out that our guests were rationed food, they were served and told no when they asked for more like another crab cake or stuffed mushroom when only receiving one....BUT we had three huge containers full of leftovers at the end of the night. We had to donate those leftovers as we had nowhere to take them and no one to take them home. Our guests were staying in hotels without refrigerators to keep those large containers of leftovers in. We were paying for guests to eat a good meal not to be rationed food!!!!! Completely ridiculous, feed the guests as we paid for and you are there to do. All in all, not a good experience at all. We wish we would have known what was going on at the time of the reception. Evaluate your customer service please.

Geaux catering did an excellent job in guiding us through the catering process. From the the first tasting, Jamal was very professional and easy going. If we had any inquiries about anything Jamal would email back in a timely manner. On our wedding day, Geaux arrived on time and were prepared to serve all our guests. The staff was courteous and very friendly. The compliments about the food were endless. At the end of the night Geaux wrapped up our leftovers to take home. Overall, from beginning to end was outstanding.

Jamaal and his family were great to work with and their food was great for our wedding reception. They are organized, they keep people moving through the buffet line efficiently, the food is delicious, and we are very thankful for all they did to make our night so great!

We used Geaux Catering for our rehearsal dinner, and the food was amazing! We did fried catfish, with mac & cheese and green beans, and all of the guests loved it! I got multiple questions throughout the night about who the caterer was. The owner was very flexible and his prices are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend!

The staff were punctual and extremely polite given the stress of the day. They were able to accommodate all of our guests' dietary needs, along with ensuring there was enough food for the confirmed guests and the crashers. Furthermore, the food was delicious and there was no dish too decadent for Chef Goree to create. Geaux Catering came highly recommended by the venue, and I see exactly why.

We have had Jamaal's food at previous events and it was an obvious choice for our wedding to choose him and his amazing staff. Everything looked great and tasted even better. Geaux Catering provided the appetizers/hor d'oeuvres for our June 2018 wedding's cocktail hour. We had actually been to a wedding with his incredible catering about a year before our wedding, and loved the food. Jamaal's food is amazing, and he is very easy to work with! We were planning from out of of state, so finding amiable and efficient vendors was incredibly important. Jamaal was willing to meet with the various people helping plan the wedding (my mom, mother-in-law, etc.) on several occasions prior to the wedding. He and his team also ended up generously helping with serving pizza we had ordered from Minsky's to our guests. We would definitely hire Geaux Catering again!

We were very pleased with our decision to hire Jamaal and Geaux Catering for our wedding on August 4, 2018. Geaux’s menu had far more options to choose from compared to other caterers in our price range. They were one of the few caterers in our budget that had options to choose from other than chicken. By way of example, we had crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms for our appetizers, flank steak and basa fish for entrees, and garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus for sides. Everything tasted phenomenal!! We had multiple complements from guests on just how delicious everything was. Jamaal and his staff were also incredibly courteous to our guests on the day of the wedding!! They also appeared very professional in their uniforms when serving food. The only aspect of our experience with Geaux Catering that was less than excellent was that on a few occasions it took a few days to hear back on an email. However, we found this to be a true of any caterers we inquired with as well. In the end, they always did get back to us to answer any questions we had. We would definitely hire Geaux Catering again and highly recommend them!!

Geaux Catering catered my wedding reception and they were phenomenal! Jamaal and his team were absolutely amazing from day 1. We met them at a wedding show and scheduled a tasting. The tasting was at their home. It was so nice to see Jamaal in his own environment. Once we signed it felt good knowing we were helping support a family, not just some large catering company. They customized our menu to meet all of our requests. The day of the wedding the crew showed up on time, looking professional and ready to work. They greeted each guest with a smile! The food was amazing... and leftovers were just as good! I've never been so happy to have leftovers! Choosing Geaux Catering for our reception was by far one of the best decisions we made for the wedding.

The food also tasted wonderful, and I think all of our guests liked everything they had to offer! I would absolutely recommend Geaux Catering to anyone who asked. Geaux Catering was an absolute hit at our wedding! Our guests loved the passed appetizers during cocktail hour and the plated dinner was fantastic as well! I love that Geaux is a family-owned business and I think that shows in Jamaal's interactions with his clients. He wants to do everything in his power to create a menu that you love and is perfect for your event. The lobster mac and cheese was a guest favorite, but really - all of his food is fantastic! We actually had two tastings to try to narrow down our menu. We also really appreciated Jamaal and his team's willingness to create three "special" plates at our reception when a couple of our guests could not have certain items. Great people and great food! We would absolutely recommend them to others.

Jamaal and crew were wonderful to work with from start to finish. And the food was utterly amazing. My husband can't stop raving about it, saying it's the best food he's ever had at a wedding. Judging by the amount of leftovers there were (4 pieces of chicken and nothing else) apparently our guests all thought so too! I would highly recommend Geaux to anyone wanting to cater an event in Kansas City.

Catered my wedding this past weekend, and they were amazing! Not only was the food wonderful, but everyone commented on how nice everyone was who served them. Geaux Catering was a hit at our wedding. We had a reception with 160+ plus guests . Jamaal and his team put together a wonderful spread. Our evening started with passed appetizers that included: chipotle chicken cups, antipasto skewers, and mini crab cakes during our cocktail hour. All of which were fantastic and a big hit. Following the cocktail hour our guests were treated to a nice salad which was followed by the Chardonnay Chicken and Beef Flank Steak entrees. The sides included bacon wrap asparagus and lobster mac n cheese. The staff a Geaux catering were professional and courteous. We were thrilled after hearing our guests rave about the food. My wife and I would recommend Jamaal and his team and hope to use them in the future.

When my fiance and I got engaged last year we started planning right away after hearing how overwhelming the process can be. We heard about Geaux Catering from a referral of a coworker. My then fiance and I had no idea about how to select a menu or what we needef to even prepare to meet with the staff. Geaux Catering prepared a delicious tasting of several options for my then fiance and I even allowed us to bring my Martin if honor and both of our mothers, had many amazing menu choices, on top of going above and beyond to break the process down for us. Most importantly pricing was beyond affordable for a wedding of 150! We used Geaux Catering not only for our wedding in August but also for our rehearsal dinner. They were able to do 2 completely different menus and hit it waaay out of the park each time. Everyone was obsessed with the food. For our rehearsal we had BBQ, and everyone loved the pulled pork and the cheesy corn. We did a buffet service with a late night menu on the night of the wedding and everyone loved it so much there was literally not a morsel left. Whenever we see anyone that attended our wedding the food is one of the things they compliment first! They are incredibly professional, it was a fantastic experience. I can't say enough good things about Geaux Catering! I love that I was able to add menu items or make changes to existing food they normally make (we added lobster to the mac n' cheese). They are very accommodating and will work with you to make your meal perfect for your wedding. They provide servers to serve the main meal and appetizers. They also can cut your wedding cake if requested. At the end of the night all of the food that is left over, you get to take home! Not every catering company allows you to do that. They also can provide water, tea, juice etc. I could go on and on. I recommend that anyone use Geaux Catering for their wedding, office event, birthday party, or large gathering!
