and asked for a quote, we received the following email from him “It's $795 for 4-hour DJ. If we provide music for the ceremony, it's an additional $75 for DJ ceremony fee. If you book today, I can include free dance lights.”. We sent an email back saying “We would like to book the 4 hour DJ and ceremony service if possible.” He then sent us an email stating that our online account had been set up and that we would be getting an email with the log in information. This had the contract in it that stated we were hiring him for the 4-hour DJ and ceremony fee. All was good for the next 10 months, everything was fine. There was no need for much communication, so it was all good. That being said, come the month of the wedding, our wedding coordinator was the first one to reach out about the wedding. She let us know through him that he would not be playing the ceremony and that it would cost an additional $75 for them to play. He informed the coordinator and my self through email that the ceremony fee did not include the time playing, but that in his words is “simply just a fee for the extra effort that goes into the ceremony.” Myself, my husband, our coordinator and a few others all examined the contract and none of us found this specification on there and this was not something that was ever communicated or explained in our initial inquiring. It does not make sense that we would pay someone $75 for “extra effort”, if we were not going to have them play. After multiple correspondence about this issue between our coordinator and myself with Stephen, he admitted that he could see how it could come off confusing, but would not refund our $75. So we paid an extra $75 for absolutely nothing. My husband and I spent months creating all of our own playlists, so there was no additional effort or planning there. The only thing we needed for our ceremony was for the processional and recessional music to be played, and that only had to be played by a simple hookup. The venue had all of the speakers installed already, so it simply just needed a phone or laptop connected to it and that’s it. In addition to all of that, we were not informed until the week before that Stephen would not be our DJ. We had someone else come and DJ, and my husband, myself and our coordinator felt like that was something we should have been informed of. All in all, the 4-hour DJ went well, our playlists were played exactly as asked by Taylor, but the communication was just not it + we paid $75 for absolutely nothing. Taylor was great though and we really appreciate him for that night and if that $75 had to go towards this company in some way, we’d hope that it would go directly to Taylor. All in all, we would not have hired this company again though and don’t recommend others do as well.

ind of hard to reach until the last 2 weeks. Don't use their UI to contact them. So it was hard to give them our exact plan for the music. Groom wanted to keep a song for us to dance together and with family and it was played while we were eating privately :(

He also checked in with me throughout the night to let me know what to expect. The only stressful thing about the process was that we weren't assigned a DJ until the week of the event and our coordinator had some initial trouble contacting him. We also had the wrong version of our recessional song played and no song for our introduction as a married couple, but, otherwise, I'm very pleased with this vendor.

Also, a whole section of our playlist was not played. We would have preferred a more communicative and personalized experience.

I was inside the normal request timeline, and it required Stephen to do extra work to ensure my music preferences, event details were properly accounted for, especially given that all of this coordination was happening in the middle of Mardis Gras. Stephen gave me an amazing quote (prices were very reasonable, and way better than several other services I had looked at), and we were booked within 2 days. On the day of the event, Taylor (our DJ) arrived right on time, and had his equipment setup and ready to go with 30 minutes to spare. He was even prepared to flex in the event the venue couldn’t get the power turned on at the DJ station, which was a serious concern right up until 30 minutes before the event started. Taylor was given a script for the ceremony, and he confirmed that the ceremony music was correct before we started. Taylor did a great job with all announcements, and his music selections and flow were perfect. I can’t recommend Geaux Live enough. Don’t waste your time elsewhere, if you need a DJ, here is the place to go!

o he was in the background of all of our photos. When he was asked to close his laptop so the stickers displayed on the back on his laptop were not in the pictures he told my father that it was his business and he was advertising. I do not appreciate my wedding photos used as advertisement when it ruins all of my ceremony pictures. There was plenty of room toward the back of the courtyard we were married in and he choose to set up in the area behind the officiant which was also the main area to take pictures in so we had to move all of our photos around this guy. Completely unprofessional, dressed in a black logo shirt with a tie. Rude when asked to close his laptop for the ceremony. Would not recommend to anyone in the area.

The photo booth quality in my opinion was OK—not the best lighting with a yellowish tone. However the guests certainly didn’t care or maybe even notice! I would do it again since it was really a fun addition to our reception.

notify the DJ. They contacted me to go over details and that's when I realized my error. NO PROBLEM, they rescheduled to my new date. Getting closer to my new date things changed. Once again, no issue at all. They kept my deposit (which they should), and cancelled my event. It was easy. You may think it is strange that I'm writing a review for a company that I ended up cancelling, but they deserve their 5 stars. So many companies have not been easy to work with during a pandemic, and even though I screwed up, this company worked with me. I've worked with other companies during this pandemic, most have been great but others have not. I think the companies that are understanding need to be praised. I don't think any COVID brides were expecting things to be the way they are.
